T'ran shook his head. "No. But I never met a female rider who had a male dragon. Benden didn't have any."
He said, looking a bit sheepish.
Nike sighed and played on. It was nice to have friends who were all totally different.
Malenie turned her head to look at Kia. "Why should I care? And why are any of you guuys here?" She asked leaning back in her bed.

Ronoth pulled his head quickly from the door when Miya began yelling.
~Way to go Ronoth now they spotted us.~ B’kin looked to Kia to see what she was going to do. The weyrling followed Kia into the barracks unsure of what to say. Kia introduced herself so he followed suit, “I’m B’kin, and you saw my bronze dragon, Ronoth, sticking his head in the door.”
He turned to Miya to answer her question, “We weren’t sneaking up on you, I just thought it was odd that you were entering the candidate’s barracks when you already impressed.”

R’dan continued to drink his klah. “I just didn’t get a lot of sleep last night,” he answered Akki. “And I don’t think… I exploded.” He said slightly confused by Akki’s question.

Rhia smiled. "I am fine." She watched the game. "I wonder if anyone will ever beat Nike besides Sh'iron."

"Really? Now that's intriguing, I suppose you meet all types here though."She said with a shrug before asking, "So what's Kalaryth like?". She had only known another green, so finding out about a new one was very interesting. She looked at R'dan and said sarcastically but merrily, "You didn't? Shame, I must admit it would be interesting to see someone explode. Why didn't you get sleep? Don't tell me you were up all night partying without me.".

R’dan raised an eyebrow as Akki said it’d be interesting to see someone explode. “You’re very strange Akki,” he said with a grin. “And that’s exactly why I couldn’t sleep. Me and Jesseth were having a party without you…”

((Watching things a'splode sounds like a good time to me, ^^))
Aureth took a deep, sleepy breath and rested his head on his fore legs once again.
The dragon's wings streached up and then folded neatly.
D'ran looked around again at the people around him.
It seemed to be going well and he might actually win.
Of course, he wouldn't win every time but it looked like he would this time.

Kia blushed slightly when B'kin introduced Ronoth.
"I had forgotten you had a Bronze. I am getting everyone confused. Just a couple of minutes ago I could've sworn you had the Blue and K'dan had the Bronze. Of course, it could also be because Kylath keeps trying to trick me," she mock glared the dragon who remained out of sight to all but Kia.

“Now I know that, and I won’t forget it” R’dan replied. “Next time I shall invite you and Ebbeth to the party…” He finished his mug of klah and placed it down to watch the game of Dragonpoker.

Kylath was about to come when she tripped over herself and fell backwards.
"Kylath," Kia stated as heard the thump and looked out.

"So, who do you think will win?"She whispered to R'dan, curious to hear his input. She had an idea, but she wanted to see if she was the only one who thought that person was going to win.

“Ow,” R’dan said putting a hand to his throat, that would hurt. “Well I’ll be sure to remember to invite you…”He glanced at the card players’ faces trying to judge who had a good hand. A really good card player wouldn’t show any emotion but you never know. It was a moment before he answered Akki’s question, “I think Nike is going to win.” He really had no basis for that guess except the fact that Nike seemed to be awful good at the game.

Ronoth nodded when Kia said she wouldn’t forget he was a bronze before lying down on the floor and staring up at Malenie. It seemed like he was scrutinizing her, trying to figure out something about her. ~She’s a candidate?~ he asked.
“I think so,” B'kin replied to Ronoth out loud before looking at Malenie too, “Are you a candidate? What’s your name?” The weyrling hadn’t been listening long enough to hear her name. He glanced towards the door when he heard the thump.

G'han looked around the room to try and see everyone's expression. Typical they are probably all putting on a straight face, he thought to himself. He looked down at his hand then looked over to Nike. She of course was favored to win but who knew maybe he could actually win. Right now he was focused and more worried about her than anyone else.

"Good. You think Nike will? I'm not sure entirely, but she might. She does have a good chance."Akki whispered to R'dan as she watched the game. She couldn't believe how everyones face was set straight, if it was her she would be smiling non-stop, whether her hand was terrible or not. She was tempted to throw something at one of the players, break their concentration so it would look like they actually were awake and not asleep with their eyes open. She didn't doubt that they were asleep, no one smiled or frowned and it was pretty silent.

"Yes I am a Candidate. I am Malenie, of Southern Boll, Nike's foster-sister." Malenie said, her eyes hard, and her head cocked to one side.
Nike smiled. "Well, I think it has been long enough. I have, The Clutch." She said smirking as she put down her set of cards.
There lay a gold, bronze, brown, blue, and green dragon on her cards.
T'ran smiled. "Kalaryth is, well, Kalaryth. An annoying, beautiful, helpful green." He said. Hey! I heard that! Kalaryth said.
Good. T'ran replied, grinning, then it fell when when he saw Nike's hand.
"I got nothing." He said putting his cards down.
F'tan glared at Nike. He put his cards down, showing a few dragons, and Craft Hall cards.

D'ran continued to look down at the sevral cards he held in his hand.
It was just a game so he did not understand why everyone stared at each other.
He took a deep breath and said, "Well?"
Aureth looked up at his bonded, it had been pretty silent.

((Hmm, could happen. NOt really sure. I just took the hightest ranking hand from The Dragonlover's Guide to Pern
I have no clue how to play poker in real life, or on Pern. -grins-
But I do know how to play blackjack. Sorta.))

Akki watched, leaned back in her chair, tipping it slightly before saying "Does that mean you won then Nike? R'dan thought you would.". She didn't know anything about Dragonpoker but by the fact T'ran's smile dissapeared quickly and F'tan's glare, it was pretty obvious they weren't very happy withtheir cards. She looked at D'ran, waiting to see his cards.

G'han still had that grin on his face. When he saw Nike's hand he nodded his head. "How did I know", he said as he laid his cards down. He didn't have much.
K'dan looked at G'han ~See I knew something was up. G'han wouldn't be they type to give his hand away~, K'dan said to his dragon. Hydrath nodded an agreement and curled up near Ruanth and started to go to sleep. ~You are sleeping again. This will have to change once we are full riders~, he said to his dragon. The dragon didn't respond but fell asleep.

Ruanth stayed awake, and watched Hydrath as he slept.

"No!" Nike said glaring at her dragon.

She looked at D'ran and said "Oh hurry up D'ran before I fling something at you. I want to see who won!". She was excited now, which she thought was odd since she wasn't actually in the game but she wanted to see if anyone actually beat Nike, or was she as good as the others said? [glow=blue,2,300]I think Nike won[/glow]Ebbeth rumbled, giving his input.
