Nike was sitting at a table in the Lower Caverens with T'ran and F'tan.
The three of them were playing with Dragon Poker cards.
The game was fun, and Nike was winning of course. Sh'iron had to miss out on all the fun since he was the Weyrleader, but these three could make the best out of it.
Ruanth was curled into a tight ball next to Nike's chair. Zim was perched on Nike's shoulder, watching the game. Crystal was laying with a sleeping Ruanth.
"Ha! Beat you!" Nike said taking all the card, then started shuffling them to play a new game.
"Shells F'tan! Why do we play with her?" T'ran said rolling his eyes. "She's one of the best card players I know! She'll always beat us."
"Yeah, but our games have immproved. You know how I beat Sh'gel during last nights game?" F'tan replied taking his cards. "Well she helps."
Nike smiled. "Well I can't help it that I learned Benden and Brita's secrtes of the card!" She said smiling.

The blue dragon popped out of /between/, and Malenie's breath was taken away at the sight of the Weyr. It was so big! And the dragons! Oh there is the queen and her mate! And look at those dragons! And over there!
She was looking everywhere. Dragons were flying, feeding, sleeping, sunbathing, and well doing everything! She was amazed! Now. Malenie thought. Where would Nike be? The girl jumped of the blue without thanking rider or dragon. A bown firelizard landed on her should.
"There you are Nakum! You can help me find Nike! I gotta gloat in her face that I am a Candida here!" The girl said. her voice was high, and annoying.
But amazingly good for singing.
The blue jumped into the air and flew to his ledge. Malenie headed to the only place she thought her old foster sister would be, in the Lower Caverens.

G'han and K'dan were in the weyrbowl training. Something they did in their spare time. K'dan tried but couldn't even lay a finger on G'han. He was strong but he was fast and agile as well. G'han pushed the weyrling away. "Your too agressive, put more focus in what you do", he said to K'dan. The two called it quits when they heard a dragon return. They saw a girl get off and both went to introduce themselves. "Hi my name is G'han bronzerider of Gerenanth and this is........", he trailed off to let the weyrling introduce himself.
"I am K'dan weyrling rider of blue Hydrath", K'dan said. "So what brings you to the weyr", K'dan asked as Sharan flew to his shoulder and perched himself there and eyed the girl. He was soon followed by G'han's blue Azure. The two firelizards had become close.

Malenie glared as two riders came up to her.
"Well G'han, and K'dan," She said. Thainking at the same time, what kind of names were those?
"My name is Malenie. I am a Candidate here. And since you are both," she paused "riders, you can tell me where
Nike," she spit the word out quickly "is."
Malenie started hard at the two. K'dan, was that his name? was a scranny peice of meat. But G'han, he looked like he had to do the best. She snorted at the thought.

"You know Nike", K'dan said with a bit of suprise in his tone.
"I think she is playing dragon poker with some other dragon riders in the lower caverns. I can take you to her", G'han said to her.
K'dan grew a bit hesitant. Would Nike want to see her though, he thought to himself. Hydrath joined K'dan as they walked to the lower caverns, he would hope to see Ruanth.

"Yes I know Nike." Malenie said, spitting the name out. "She is my foster-sister."
The girl gave a small smug smile. She followed G'han into the Lower Caverens.
There she spotted the famous, long crimson hair. But the hair was pulled up.
No it was cut! She laughed a bit.
Malenie eyed F'tan over. Now, he as good looking. She thought.
Now, thought looking at T'ran, he looked like a lower ranking rider. Mabey, blue or green. Ha, a green would suit him!
Then her eyes rested on the little white dragon curled up beside Nike's chair.

Nike grinned as she won again.
"Beat you again. You guys are too easy!" She said leaning back in her chair.
Her hair was cut. She found it eaiser to have it short. The hair was a bit shaggy, and fell ito her eyes.
It gave her a dark, but cool look.
Ruanth looked up when Hydrath came in.
Nike looked from her friends to see G'han, K'dan, and Malenie.
The healer stood up and started at the girl.
"By the first shell, what are you doing here?" Nike said glaring at the girl who was smirking.
T'ran and F'tan looked up and started at her. They heard of Malenie, bad things too.

"Uh oh", K'dan said a bit too loudly than he would like. Hello Ruanth. I see your mine doesn't seem to like this girl. My mine was a bit hesistant to let G'han bring her to your mine.
"Uh oh", G'han repeated with the same tone and just as loud as K'dan. Well I would say you slipped up. ~How was I suppose to know this~, he said to his dragon.

Malenie smiled smugly. She wanted it to go this way. "Well Nike, you are looking at a new Candidate here at Dark Moon Weyr. I was Searched." She said walking towards the young Healer.
"You aren't happy to see your foster-sister?" She spread her hands over her chest, and got an upset look on her face.
"What dragon would want you as thei rider?" Nike said stepping over Ruanth to stand face to face with Malenie.
"I yes, I am so happy to see you." She added, her voice full of sarcasem.
Malenie's left eye twitched. "Well at least I don't have this little, firelizard of a dragon like you do!" Malenie said pointing down to Ruanth.
"Take that back you wherry-head." Nike said glaring. She hated it when others made fun of Ruanth.
I don't like her either. Ruanth said glaring.
Zim and Crystal were chittering angraily.

You take that back. Hydrath jumped infront of Ruanth in a protective manner. "Hey you had no reason to say that about Ruanth.", K'dan said.
G'han jumped between the two girls. "I see we have a friend for Miya. You take that back or I will tell the weyrleaders to return you", he said.

D'ran and Aureth came in just in time to hear the new Candidate.
Aureth sighed loudly and looked up at his Mine.
[glow=blue,2,300]I am really sick of this "Oh she's so small," junk! Who cares?[/glow]Aureth walked up to Malenie and bellowed,
[glow=blue,2,300]Keep your mouth shut because it seems to me nobody wants to hear you speak![/glow]~Harsh...~
D'ran walked up to K'dan and G'han and quietly said, "You forgot to get me for your training so I had to do it myself."

[glow=blue,2,300]There is something going on at the lower caverns Akkimine, and it's not going down well[/glow]Ebbeth rumbled sleepily as Akki picked herself up and headed towards the lower caverns, where sure enough shouts could be heard. She raised her eyebrow slightly and said "No G'han, Miya is better than this" as she walked into the cavern. She could hear Ebbeth rumble in her head but ignored it, she wanted to catch everything.

Malenie glared at the riders.
"No. Nike derserves what I said. She deserves a lot more than what I said. I am not taking that back."
She said then glared at G'han. "Oh I am so afraid of being sent back." She turned around and headed towards the candidate barracks. That blue rider had told her where they were. She barely noticed the blue dragon who came up behind her.
Nike glared at Malenie. Her hand was resting on her belt knife. "Faranth knows that I am going to kill her." She muttered then said down. Ruanth glared after the girl. Thank you Hydrath. She said before sitting back down.
T'ran and F'tan didn't want to get into this. They knew about Malenie, and everything. PLus there were so surprised at Nike for wanting to kill the girl to speak.

G'han growled at the girl as she left. He clinched his fist. "Such insolence, arrogance", he said. "Sorry D'ran me and K'dan got a really early start, next time we will wake you though", he said to him and turned to Akki, "I would agree with you on that. And atleast Miya didn't want to be sent back home and actually cared".
You are very welcome. No one gets away with saying things like that about you. He hated that everyone picked on them for being small. K'dan chuckled, was Hydrath growing a backbone. He remembered the scared little blue curled with Ruanth hiding under the table.

Aureth didn't want to end it there.
He began following the Candidate but was stopped by D'ran.
~You can bellow at her later.~
Aureth's eyes whirled but soon he stopped.
The dragon took a deep breath and sat in his spot.
"Can I play dragon poker with you guys. I learned from an expert friend of mine," he said, trying to lighten the mood.
D'ran called them friends but he really /just/ knew them.

"Miya is nice when you get to know her...I think."She said as she watched the back of the girl head towards the candidate barracks. "If she stays here for long I might leave"She declared as she suppressed a shudder. [glow=blue,2,300]She seems unkind, I don't like her[/glow]Ebbeth snarled.
She too followed D'rans tactic at lightening the mood and said "Dragon poker? Someone still needs to teach me that." She heard Ebbeth chuckle and asked What?. [glow=blue,2,300]You would lose[/glow]He said, only to receive Gee, thanks in return.

Nike looked up at D'ran. "Sure. But I swear, I have a lot of anger to get out."
She said. "Take a seat. You joining G'han? K'dan? Akki?" She said shuffling the cards.
F'tan smiled at D'ran. "She'll win mind you. Once, she was angered so much, that she won three sacks full of Marks in one game of Dragon Poker. Nike's good. But not as good as Sh'iron." He said whispering for his ears only.

"I am better then it may seem. I have been practicing since that time- we were all eating together," he said, trying to recall the time.
Aureth sneered at the door and shuffled over to the table.
Ruanth seemed to enjoy Hydrath's company and he did not want to come uninvited.

"No Akki you can't leave, then this weyr wouldn't be nearly as crazy", G'han said. "I would join you all for a game but Nike would just win so I think I am going to see if I can find one of the weyrleaders and tell them about the new candidate", he said. He remembered how everyone, even Christae felt about Miya, now their was a candidate worse than her. He groaned at the thought as he went off to find one of them and /inform/ them about the new girl.
K'dan watched as G'han walked off, he gave a sigh. He hated conflicts and this girl ws going to cause many. "I agree with G'han the weyr wouldn't be the same without you Akki", he said to her. He joined Nike at the table, hoping to watch and maybe pick something up.

Ruanth looked over at Aureth.
Come. I do not wish to be alone. None of us want to be alone. She said curling up.
Nike smiled and dealed out the cards. "Well lets play!" She said. The back of her cards had Ruth in flight on them.
She would win. She knew it.

Or because you would miiiiiiss me"Akki taunted as she sat at the table and said "Is it okay if I watch? Maybe I can learn something, for once". SHe looked around the table and raised an eyebrow, there were people she never met here before, but she shrugged it off and watched.

D'ran nodded and stared at the cards.
"So we're playing for marks or no," he asked.
Aureth put his fore arms on the table to make himself taller.
Slowly his eyes began to whirl less as he calmed down.
"I think Kia would simply die if you left," D'ran said to Akki.
He looked at his cards and smiled at what he had gotten.
