Rhia smiled and then excused herself from her dance partner, catching sight of something that was more important than idle chitchat.
"L'der of Green Mkinth. I am quite disappointed in you." Her voice was calm, but her eyes snapped with fury. "You sir, are a Weyrling. I do believe I was very clear in expressing the rules. Weyrlings don't drink! You could seriously harm your dragon's mental development with your shenanigans. You will have latrine duty for the next sevenday young man and if you shirk your duty you will have it for the next month. I'm sure that will make some unlucky Candidate happy because they won't have to do that duty. That is in addition to whatever duties your are assigned as a Weyrling."
She glanced at the man beside him and recognized one of the Masquers who had asked her to dance. "Rhia of brown Mneith sir, Weyrlingmaster. I do not believe we have met."

[Throwing in another Mercer post before Wolf because time-frame-wise it seems like their introduction could happen in the moment before L'der responds xD]
Not more than a few moments after Mercer had walked over and spoken to the drunken weyrling, an woman stepped over and started speaking to him in a tone that suggested she was just as disappointed with the boy as he was. He looked over to her when she stepped over, turning his head back to face the drunken weyrling when she said his name with a mild note of surprise in the gesture; he smiled slightly as well.
When she spoke to him, the man turned back to her, lifting his head as if to look at her even though he was still blindfolded. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Rhia." He offered a hand to shake. "My name is Mercer. I'm a former...mentor of the young miscreant here," even as he called L'der such a name, there was a note of fondness in it. "I must say I am proud that he's been deemed worthy enough by a young dragon to be called L'der, but I was just voicing my disappointment in him as well before you came over." He would let his hand back down to his side after she shook it (and if she didn't, he'd let his hand back down too anyway). "It's good to know that he's under such a competent mentor now."

"Oh come now!", Kira exclaimed as she looked up at him. Her smile showed that it was said more in jest than in actual surprise or shock. "You can't mean to tell me that such a handsome young man as yourself doesn't have ladies lining up for him. I refuse to believe such a thing", she said to him matter-of-factly. A pout seemed to form on her face however. "You better tell the rest of them that I was first though", Kira's tone, flirty as ever, also took on a more demanding tone. Clearly she was flirting, as well as stating her place with J'kiran, giving the boy the idea that if any lady were to have him then it would be her. But Kira could go on like this and not actually follow through. The girl was far too free spirited and playful to be meant to settle down just yet, much to many boys' dismay.

"Aw, Miss Kira," J'kiran protested, though his usual warm smile still remained. A tinge of color returned to his face. "I've really never been that popular with ladies." Of course, part of that was probably due to the fact that he was always out with the animals and never really had time to socialize. "This isn't precisely the time to start worrying about that sort of thing, either," he said, thinking once again to the young bronze sleeping away in the temporary candidate barracks. He gave a quiet chuckle at her last comment though, and nodded. "I'll be sure to inform them, though. I'd be happy to save a dance for a friend."

Kira simply shook her head into his shoulder. "Such proper speech you use with me", she said coyly and patted his chest with her hand, then letting the hand rest there. He was such a proper gentleman, not bad looking, and now he had a bronze. Soon he would be a full fledged bronzerider and who knew where that could take him later on. "Not popular with the ladies? Dear J'kiran, you have every quality necessary to be popular with the ladies. You simply need to loosen up", she said with a smile. "My concern isn't that you'll become popular with the ladies. My concern is my position being threatened later on", this time smile became smirk. If there was any imagry that Kira wanted to be taken from this, it was that she had her claws in him first. But Kira was never really possessive, she just messed around like that. As if any boy she was with at any given time were hers and hers alone, but in reality that wasn't the case. It was simply another part of the game. Then again, her stay at this weyr could possibly change her.
