Pilan felt his face work its way through concern to the classic ‘oh crap’ expression and end up with a grin without him having any control over it at all.
He‘d just have to hope he hadn‘t looked too silly as his face had changed. He’d assumed Miya was a candidate too, here to watch the dragons. It was a very good thing that she was apparently not one of the stuffy humorless people with rank. She knew he hadn‘t meant to insult her or her dragon, and she was either flirting or putting him on. He was hoping it was flirting, but if she was setting him up for a joke, he’d take the fall happily.
“There is? Could you maybe show this poor ignorant candidate from lovely and WARM Arkady Hold what that is? I’m Pilan, I’m new here, obviously."

"There are two ways actually." Miya said, starting to enjoy herself a little. "One is..." She paused. Reinath, can you splash me? I am getting really hot. Miya asked her gold. Reinath turned around and slammed her tail into the water, sending a wave towards the shore. Miya quickly walked away to allow the candidate to be thouroughly soaked. She then walked back. "And if you are still cold, then you do what everyone else is doing." And she shoved him in. Miya had to admit, she was enjoying shoving everyone into the water. It was a good replacement for picking fights.
Reinath turned back towards Ebbeth. Who are you calling little, you blue. Last time I was checked I was larger than you. Even if you are the same age as my clutch-mother. THe gold replied.

A beautiful day for a walk indeed, especially considering the excitement of the egg touching was still in her. Up on having reached the lake she looked somewhat surprised to see a fair-sized gathering there. 'What did I miss now?' she thought to herself, hating to be clueless. Her arms supported behind her head as she headed passed everyone, not wanting to disrupt any conversations she hadn't been in from the very start. Picking her own individual spot by the lake she sat down, staring down in to the water, sneakily close enough so she wouldn't miss a single world of the others conversations. So what, is thriving on curiosity a crime? Hands now resting gently in her lap Wolf looked to the skies casually. She silently cheered at the fact that she was now 15-turns old. Her long bangs began to irritate her, as they never failed to do, the young girl placing her long hair behind her where it wouldn't tempt her to cut it off.

I could take you Ebbeth said, slipping under the water to find Hydrath. But I suggest you don't take the challenge, I wouldn't want to embarass you. He said, a grin appearing as he sliced through the water. Akkimine, the boy does know I kid about squashing him, right?
Ask him yourself you lazy beast She replied as she laughed as Miya pushed the boy into the water. "Better hope he can swim Miya!" She said, grinning, as she swam slowly over to where he went under. "Now, who's going to push Miya in? Someone has too." She said, looking around at the others before seeing somebody sitting on the waters edge, and waving them over to come and join her and the others in the water.

Wolf's peripheral vision caught sight of someone waving her over from within the water. Wolf didn't hesitate to stand-up, looking in the girl's exact direction. Walking over, shoulders tensed, she realized the girl wasn't a stranger at all. Plain as day; it was Akki. "Hey!" Wolf yelled, watching as the others enjoyed themselves in the water. She rubbed her arms, making a clacking sound with her teeth, "you must be freezing!" She knew she wasn't prepared to be jumping in with her clothes on, or jumping in at all for that matter. She wasn't that great a swimmer, though she could stay afloat just fine. She knelt by the water's edge, unaware that the other's were making a game of pushing each other in. "Having fun?" she asked Akki, a smirk lighting her visage before she looked over at the Draconic-partners belonging to both Akki and the Gold rider.

Is that a challenge? Reinath swam slowly through the water, her wings folded by her sides and her head sticking out of the water. Her hide kept her warm. Miya looked over the edge. "I am sure he can swim. If not there are many dragons near by." She explained as she continued looking for the candidate.
*********************
Jakel popped his head out of the water. He looked around to see Miya leaning over the edge, apparently looking for something. He also saw Akki waving at someone. Jakel spun around to see Wolf. "Hey! Come on in!" Jakel shouted.

That Miya was good. He’d been caught watching her walking away and trying to figure out what she meant when the wave hit him. Then, she’d shoved him in before he’d recovered from the wave! He really wished she’d decided to flirt instead of this.
Cold. Really really cold. As he figured out how to swim wearing all this clothing he couldn’t help but wonder if parts of him would ever recover. He wouldn’t let it kill him though, he’d seen the other guys swimming and apparently enjoying the water. There was no way he’d show how much this hurt.
Hm. It was easy to stay underwater-maybe, just maybe he could give her grief back? Pilan picked a direction at random and started swimming along underwater, putting all his strength into it. He was considered a good swimmer at home, he’d spent hours wrestling and goofing around in the water swith his friends. That was serving him well now, he’d gone in with his lungs full of air and he’d had lots of practice swimming underwater. Nearly ou of breath he came up behind a guy ((K’dan)) . “Let me hide behind you? I want to worry Miya a little."

Wolf looked to Jakel, smirk reappearing at the sight of the boy. "Its probably cold," she chuckled, glad to see he was enjoying himself. She tried to figure out whether or not this would be consider party-pooping, probably. The urge to jump in was becoming more evident as she reached an arm over the waters, tracing a finger lightly along the waters surface. As she pulled her finger back she delighted in the beauty of the ripples that formed thereafter.

If it is, do you accept? He asked, curious to see what the gold would say in return.
"I am actually." She said as she swam over to Wolf. "Lend me a hand, will you? I can't get out by myself, I'm funny that way." She said as she offered a hand to Wolf, hoping the girl would take it so she could 'climb out'. We all knew her real plan though, I should hope.
She looked over at Miya and nodded in agreement. "Let's just hope they aren't all lazy enough not to grab him, right? Maybe Reinath is more responsible, no doubt she is actually, and will grab him when we realize he's drowned.". "Now come on Miya, join us in the water. Don't be the odd one out!" Akki said with a wink and nodded towards the inviting and refreshing water.

"You want to mess with Miya? Good luck with that but your definently not using me as a sheild from her", he said to the newcomer. "What is your name anyway? I can't say I've seen you around", K'dan asked. K'dan and Miya hadn't exactly gotten along in the past but she seemed to have changed so maybe things could work out between them but for now he would tread cautious water and try not to get on her bad side. K'dan popped underwater and swam quickly away, within the moment he popped up by Akki. "Alright let's get them then", he said to her.

"I'm Pilanth, just got searched yesterday. I think she messed with me first, throwing me in without knowing if I could swim. I'm just messing back."
Shards, the guy was swimming away! Well, there were two other guys in the water, maybe he could get mistaken for one of them if he got more distance from where he went in. The water wasn't feeling so cold now, he might as well swim more anyway.
As he took a deep breath and went under again he wondered who he had been talking to. He'd find out later, probably. The guy had to be a candidate or weyrling, surely a fulll rider wouldn't be swimming in his clothes. He opened his eyes as he swam, hoping to see a dragon swimming underwater.

"Of course it is cold!" Jakel exclaimed with a laugh. But it isn't so bad once you get used to it. You better jumo in soon before someone shoves you in.
*******************************
Of course, Miya was still looking for the candidate she shoved in the water. Of course I am accepting, little blue. She taunted.
((Have him come up soon. I want him to here what Miya is going to say.))

Breaking the surface quietly, Pilanth looked around to see where everyone was. It was harder work to swim in clothes but they did keep you a little warm. OK, there was Miya, looks like two others were near her. Were they going to try to pull her in or splash her?
((there you go))

Miya sighed. She couldn't find the boy anywhere. "Aah! Christae is going to have a fit if she finds out that I lost a new candidate. No doubt that will be followed by a long lecture on duties." She sat down. "Ah well. If anyone finds him, keep him alive." Her eyes scanned over the water. With all of the people and the dragons in the water, it would be impossible to find him without actually going in, and she didn't feel like it. Hopefully someone would find him and he would still be alive.

Perin had been swimminng around listening to the people and just enjoying the banter between the Riders and the Candidates. He was glad that the people in this Weyr were friendly for the most part. As a master Tanner, Perin had seen many weyrs in which Cahdidates and Weyrlings were treated as inferiors.
Perin was a bit worried about the newcomer the Goldrider had pushed in but then he saw him surface behind Jakel. He grinned, guessing the other lad's game. He swam in closer and treaded water near a few of the riders. He had seen that K'dan had refused to hide the lad so he tried to catch his eye to let him know that he was game. The gold and her rider had completely ignored his greeting so he was willing to help the newcomer get payback.
Perin realized that Akki had probably forgotten about him so he decided to make himself known. He could be a mischief maker when he wanted to be and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to do so. He sent a mental call and his dark brown flitt Falarn appeared, eager to play in the water. He had ordered the meddlesome flitt to stay in he Barracks to avoid getting into trouble but now trouble was what he sought.
He gave Falarn the image of him soaking himself and then going land on Miya's shoulder. No one knew who the flitt was for and the brown would vanish afterwards. Perin hid a grin knowing that no one knew he had a flitt. He had always kept the flitt away from people because he liked to bother people.

The right side of Miya's shirt was soaked as a strange flitt landed on her shoulders. She called Tonu and Kali, who immediantly attacked the strange brown. They didn't have much of a chance to do anything because the flitt disappeared really quickly. "Whose was that!" She almost yelled.

Hydrath swam deeper, all the way to the bottom. Once he touched bottom with his hind legs he gave a mighty push and bolted out the water, causing a big wave. Soon he was circling high above the waters, as if taunting Ebbeth and the other dragons.
That was pretty decent little blue, but for such a small dragon as yourself, thats about the best you could do isn't it? Gerenanth spoke to Hydrath then turned his attention to Ebbeth and Reinth. The little blue seems very arrogant and cocky today, I believe he taunts us from the skies. Care to clip him of this pride of his? Gerenanth gave a mighty wingbeat and lifted just above the waters, waiting for the other dragon's answers.
"Alright Jakel it's us against those blue riders. I guess this means I'll dub you an honarary bronzerider for now so, we'll be the bronze team", G'han said with a small chuckle. "Bring it on blues!', G'han shouted out. Once calm and peaceful, G'han was now revved up, a fire lit under him.
"About time you livened up", K'dan said then shouted back, "We can take you!"

Reinath bugled loudly. A mere blue cannot even hope to match up to a gold. Reinath boasted. She pumped her wings and also rose into the air.
************************
"Yes! I have just gone from candidate, to blue-rider, to bronze-rider in a matter of minutes. I am the ultimate dragon rider." Jakel laughed.
