T'rin sat at the far edge of the lake with Amparath, who was happily swimming about in the deep parts. The bronzerider, however, was contemplating. Reinath's flight was sure to come soon, and he was still ranked a senior weyrling.
And so is Miya, the bronze pointed out. Enough with this. I will catch her. There was a tone of finality in the dragon's mind-voice, and T'rin sighed. He had been thinking about it a lot lately and Amparath was getting tired of all the negativity because he, of course, was convinced that he would catch Reinath.
T'rin shook the thoughts out of his head and stripped down to his undertrousers. He dove into the lake abruptly, which was freezing, and he emerged gasping. He slicked his now longish hair back against his head and shuddered. When did the lake get this frigid?
What is wrong? the dragon asked. Frigid? It is only lukewarm.
"Just because your hide can withstand *between* doesn't mean I don't get cold," T'rin said peevishly.
You ought to go with your friends over there, Amparath said abruptly. I am. The bronze swam underwater to where Ebbeth and Akki and the other riders were. He let his head break the surface of the water and looked around at Akki and the others.
Miya is here, he said to T'rin, who was swimming over. He groaned. Why did you tell me that? Now I don't want to come. However, he continue swimming across the lake until he reached Amparath and rested on the dragon's warm hide.
"Hello Akki, G'han, Nike, K'dan, Jakel, Miya," he said, a bit out of breath.
Good day, Ebbeth, Amparath said.

A lean form stood on the rocks a good distance away from the part of the shore where the dragons and riders were. The lad's tanned form was almost just a lithe shadow against the backdrop of the trees and rocks in the warm sun. The water was cold. Winter was approaching. Of course for Dark Moon, that only meant that the lake would be a bit colder as well as the upper atmosphere for the dragonriders flight drills. Perin's blue-black hair was pulled back into a runner tail. His chest was bare and he wore short trousers. His boots had been discarded in the Candidate's barracks. He backed up a bit and took a running leap into the icy lake.
He hit the water in a perfect dive, ignoring the fact that the water was frigid. He came up for air and began to breaststroke across the lake towards the other Weyrfolk. He ducked around the dragons and stood up when he got to the shallows. "Hey everyone. Looks like we all had the same idea."

Jakel burst out laughing when Akki told him that Ebbeth would sooner drown her than Akki could drown him. He calmed down just to start laughing again as Ebbeth admitted he was supposed to be Jakel's dragon. He stood up and pumped his fist into the air. "Yes! I am now a full dragon-rider. I get to skip all of that training." He fake celebrated. Truth be told, he would prefer standing at the hatching. He would not trade his real dragon for Ebbeth. At Akki's fat comment, Jakel wrinkled his nose. "I agree with him on that." He joked.
Jakel turned his head to see a bronze and his rider swim over. He didn't know this rider, but apparently the rider knew him. He would get the rider's name when some else addressed him. Yet another swam over, but this one he recognized. "Hey Perin!" Jakel waved enthusiastically.
*************************
Miya smirked. Apparently Akki was going to lose Ebbeth to a candidate. Ebbeth wouldn't really leave his mine. Reinath pointed out. I know that. Miya sighed. She couldn't believe that Reinath had thought that she had really meant that. Sorry. Reinath said sadly. Miya had forgotten that Reinath could hear everything she thought, whether Miya intended for the gold to hear it or not. It's ok, Reinath. I am sorry for thinking that. Miya replied. Her conversation was interrupted when a large bronze swam over. She quickly recognized it as Amparath. Before T'rin could swim over, Miya put her head down and looked at the grass beneath her feet. She heard him say hello. "Hey." She said, well, almost whispered. She was still unsure about how she felt about the Sr. Weyrling bronzerider.

G'han smirked as he watched the two of them. K'dan, however, was thoroughly amused. After a good laugh and seeing that not even Akki's own dragon would defend her he decided to act. He quickly got up and tackled Jakel into the water, making a big splash. He came up for air and saw G'han looking at him. "What are you just going to stand there or are you going to help me up?", he asked.
G'han shook his head and gave a sigh. He offered his hand out to help K'dan out the water. "It was your own fault any....", G'han couldn't even complete the sentence. The next thing he knew he was coming up gasping for air and completely soaked. "K"DAN", he shouted at him. He then dove at him and both went under.
There is a party going on and no one thought to invite us? Gerenanth came flying in with Hydrath at his side. The two hadn't bothered to join their riders at the lake, much rather wanting to sleep but with all the excitement Gerenanth couldn't resist coming and convinced Hydrath to come as well. Gerenanth landed on the dry surface next to Akki, Nike and the others. Hydrath however spiraled downward into the water next to the two guys as they were both underwater. G'han wanted his revenge and K'dan was just realizing what kind of mess he got into, but both were having a good time.
Poor K'dan does not realize what he has gotten himself into. Gerenanth stated as he looked out at the lake.

Jakel was shocked as he was pushed into the water. He resurfaced to see that K'dan had done it. K'dan was the last person he had expected to tackle him into the water. Then K'dan pulled G'han in. Jakel couldn't help laughing any longer as Hydrath came into the water and Gerenanth went on land. Jakel took a deep breath and dove under water. He swam towards the two and grabbed on of their ankles in each hand, dragging both of them under the water.

Good day Amparath, I hope you and your ride are fairing well. Ebbeth said, returning the greeting to the bronze.
"Hello T'rin! Tsk Perin, I had the idea first, and being the trend setter that I am everyone decided to copy." She said as she waved to the two. "Skip all that training Jakel? Shall we watch you go Between then?" She said with a laugh as she watched the boy celebrate before she glared at him and said, "I am not fat!". She looked at herself again and then added, "I'm part dragon. Yeah, that's right, and this is just extra dragon bulk... Admin's Note:[/hr]".
"Come on Miya, T'rin and the rest of you, let's go swimming and I'll show you all that this extra bulk won't stop me from out swimming all of you." She exclaimed as she scrambled off of the ground and headed towards the water. I didn't invite you because I didn't want to embarass you in front of them Gerenanth, after all, I am a much better dragon than you Ebbeth said, a twinkle in his eye as he watched the two dragons fly in.
Akki paused at the waters edge, before jumping in, aiming for where she thought someone was underwater. "Watch yourselves!" She yelled before she hit the surface with a large splash. Let the hurting of others begin Ebbeth said with amusement as he slipped underwater, watching the scene unfold.

Perin laughed. "Hey Jakel. Glad to see ya." The normally taciturn lad allowed his face to break out into a smile.
He turned to Akki. "I never said that I had the idea first. I was just stating my opinion Akki." His voice was mocking.

T'rin laughed at the antics of G'han, K'dan, and Jakel, perched on Amparath's back. He decided to swim to the shore and jumped high off of the bronze, curling his body up into a ball and creating a splashy wave that sprayed over several of those in and out of the water. He emerged and grinned, swimming over to land and walking out of the lake. He dripped and slicked his hair back again, shaking dry.
When Akki mentioned she was part dragon and that was the reason for the "bulk" on her body, T'rin laughed and agreed to her suggestion that they race. He walked over to Miya, who was staring into the grass. He held his hand down to her and said, "Hey, come on, we should race. It'll be fun." He tried a little smile.

Akki's head popped out of the water, her hair plastered on her face like a it was trying to suck it off, and said, "Perin, if you want to fight, we can fight right here, I can take you. Shards, I can take all of you! I'm part dragon!". With a grin and a short laugh she slipped back under water, opening her eyes to see if she could see anyone.
She still wasn't sure if she had landed on anybody when she jumped in, but she didn't think so. Then again, Akki was usually wrong, but still. You probably smashed someones head in, and now they are bleeding and laying unconcious as they sink to the bottom of the lake Ebbeth said to his mine. Oh haha, very funny. Now I'm paranoid to swim any deeper because I'll bump into a corpse, thanks. Now hush and tell me if you can see anyone, please and thank you. Ebbeth chortled silently before looking for peopleunder water like Akki requested.

K'dan and G'han were dragged under by Jakel. G'han quickly recovered and was going to retaliate when he felt someone smash against him. He was knocked further under water. A bit dazed and suprised he quickly recovered and gasped for air as he surfaced. "Shards! What was that?!", he said as he rubbed his head.
A better dragon than me? I believe you are confused Ebbeth. You know that I am the better dragon.
As if. You both know I am the best! With that Hydrath snaked his way to Ebbeth's form and pushed him, then quickly swam away.
K'dan quickly released himself from Jakel's grasp after G'han was knocked by Akki. He swam at Jakel and grabbed him and pushed him further under then resurfaced.

"Didn't you see it G'han? It was this giant dragon, a large brown by the looks of it. Just swooped down and tried to grab you, but it hit your head by accident. It didn't want to be caught so then it flew away." Akki explained as she popped her head out of the water, just long enough to nod a few times as she told her story. Soon she was back under the water, smiling to herself.
There's a reason we don't include you Hydrath. Because it's so obvious that we are better than you, there's no competition. Ebbeth replied to the other blue. Ebbeth shook his head, slightly dazed at being hit and then reared up and flapped his wings. That was a mistake you foolish over-grown lizard.

"I highly doubt that Akki. If that were true I wouldn't be just rubbing my head, slightly dazed from it", he said to her. He shot her a suspicious look. "You seem to know what really happened though so why don't you spit it out already?", he asked.
A couple of old stiffs like you? Better than me? We both know it is I that is the superior one and better an overgrown firelizard than a slow old wherry.Hydrath snaked further into the depths of the water, his blue hide enabling him the same perfect stealth as Ebbeth. Now in the deep murkey depths of the water and his movements at a screeching halt, finding him would be near the impossible.
The both of you sound like a couple of boasting bronzes. This coming from Gerenanth of all dragons. Gerenanth was still deciding to stay on dry land with those that were still there.

Jakel resurfaced, unfortunately in time to listen to Akki run her mouth. (Lol.) "I couldn't possibly go between now, Akki. Look at me, I am soaked!" He exclaimed, acting as if he would go between if he were dry and bundled up. "Besides, I don't have anything warm enough to wear. Even I know that Between is freezing." He said, wagging his finger at her. "But you will see eventually, miss dragon bulk, I will go between eventually." He said confidently. Jakel had to quickly swim out of the way as Akki jumped into the water, less he get squished by her bulk.
The next thing he knew he was being showered with lake water. He turned around to see T'rin swim back up near his bronze. He must of jumped off of the large dragon, creating a bigger splash. He laughed as he realized that Akki had knocked into G'han when she had jumped into the water. He started laughing until K'dan shoved him under water, causing him to get a mouth full of water. He rose to the surface and started coughing. "You shall pay blue-rider!" He shouted in a gallant voice. He turned to Akki who was making up a story for how she hit G'han. "In other words, you jumped into the water without looking and smashed him on the head." Jakel said with a big smile.
****************************
Miya watched silently from her seat. Her face was a mix between a smile and a smirk, making it difficult to know what she was thinking. She looked up as she heard T'rin's voice. She sat there for a moment deciding whether she should. Go! Look at them, they are all having fun. Reinath said, urging her rider on. But my clothes. Miya protested. Most of them are wearing their clothes too. It's not like you are wearing your riding gear. If you go, I will. Then you won't have to bath me. Reinath suggested. Fine. Your getting too big for me too wash easily anymore. Luckily, you aren't growing as fast as you used too. I think you are full grown. Scratch that, I hope you are full grown. Miya let out an exasperated sigh before looking at T'rin. "All right." She grabbed his hand and stood up. She led him over to the waters edge and shoved him into the water, while staying on dry land herself.
A large gold form came flying in the sky. As the dragon came forward one could see that it was Reinath. It wasn't that hard to tell, since there were only two golds and Kaith was larger then Reinath. Plus, Kaith wouldn't leave her eggs. She flew down and landed on the shore. She came in time to here the three males boasting. What are you three talking about. It is obvious that I am the best out of all of you. She gloated proudly and enjoying the game.

Perin raised an eyebrow. "First you misunderstand me and now you want to pick a fiht? Shame Akki anyone can see that I am in better shape than you are. Your dragon bulk will slow you down in the water."
He laughed as the dragons cavorted. He couldn't hear what they were saying but he could see that they were contesting each other. He pitied the older bronzerider. He would have a headache after the blow Akki's body had dealt him.
The young Master Tanner stared at the gold. This one was smaller than the enormous Queen brooding over her eggs but she was still beautiful. She must be the Junior Queen of the Weyr. He executed a courtly bow to her. "Junior Queen. I hope you and your rider are well." He hadn't been in the weyr long enough to hear about Miya's misconduct and her standing with the Weyrwoman. He only knew that this was the first time he had seen this Queen and he had been raised to show Goldriders respect.
Perin turned to Akki. "You are going to get yourself in trouble if you continue picking fights with everyone bluerider." Perin undid the tie that held his dark hair back and retied the runnertail to keep the blue-black mass from his dark face.

Akki tossed back her head and laughed as Jakel told G'han what really happened and said, "Sorry G'han, my dragon bulk threw me off a bit there when I jumped, apparently that part of me doesn't like you. Most of me like syou though, if that counts for anything.". "Hey! Jakel, you go after K'dan and I'm after you, us blue riders have to go stay together you know.".
Ha! We all know that all I have to do is step on you and you're out of the picture you annoying waste of space Ebbeth replied to Hydrath, following the other blue in the depths of the large lake. And you are a boastful bronze Ebbeth retorted to Gerenanth.
You say big things considering they are not true, Gold. You sit there on the banks of the lake, too frightened to get yourself wet Ebbeth said, goading the Queen into joining them in the lake.
"I figure if I pick a fight with you, and then mysteriously dissapear, people will get this 'crazy' idea that I whacked you off, fear me and know that I can take them any day of the week, Which I can." Akki said, sticking her tongue out at Perin, only to recieve a mouthful of water.

You would have to catch me first old wherry but I wouldn't want to exhaust such an old dragon as yourself.
Dear Ebbeth the two of you are more boastful than even I am today. That is saying something. And Hydrath if you were so great, why are you hiding? You think your stealth makes you better, just because you can hide in a lake. My little blue friend you are mistaken. As for you, young queen. As Ebbeth said, come in these waters and find out for yourself who is the better dragon. Your words get you nowhere on dry land. Gerenanth by this time was already in the water, sending waves at Ebbeth and trying to spot Hydrath.
"Dragon bulk? Akki did you just call yourself fat? I don't think that's a very nice compliment to give yourself", G'han asked her. "If it means anything I don't think your fat at all", he continued.
"Which blue rider are you talking to? We have a few of those. Perhaps you mean to challenge all blue riders? So be it then. Akki he challenges us, should we accept?", K'dan turned and asked Akki.

"Ahhh, it's happening again. I can't wait until I get a dragon, then things will be fair." He crossed his arms and pouted. "Me and G'han will team up and beat both of you!" He exclaimed. "Even without a dragon I shall win!" He laughed.
**********************
You think? SHe questioned. Reinath took flight, She circled the length before diving in, splashing everyone. "Reinath!" Miya exclaimed as she was drenched with water.
************************
"Ahh!!! Attack of the gold dragon!" Jakel exclaimed as the waves pushed him underwater.

Pilan had been spending as much time as he could outside as he was just not used to having stone around him all the time. The noise had lead him down to the lake, he hadn't really been down to its shore before, so he was more then willing to see what was going on. The swimming, especially with dragons looked like great fun. He walked toward the only person out of the water, grinning at the swimmers' antics.
He was caught completely by surprise as the wave from the gold dragon hit him, and let out a strangled yell as water as cold as between drenched him and the girl he had been walking up to. He had thought the black haired girl knew what she was doing when she chose her seating place - the girl was not dressed for swimming at all, but apparently she had guessed poorly.
“Did those overgrown flits send the water between before splashing it on us?” he asked her, half humorously and half serious. “I have never felt water so shardin’ cold!” He shook his head, glad for his short hair as he tried to make his breathing return to normal. “Please tell me this water is usually warmer?” It didn’t seem to be bothering the people swimming, though most seemed to be swimming in their clothes? "Are you ok?" he moved to see her face, worried she'd caught the wave while breathing in.
((OOC - I had to have him meet this group by putting his foot firmly in his mouth. Nothing like ice water to short out someones brain.))

Miya turned around as she heard a voice. She smirked at his comments about the water being so cold. "I am fine." She said. "Besides, my dragon wouldn't hurt me." She said, letting him know that she was a queen rider. "I am Miya, Sr. Weyrling rider of gold Reinath." She introduced herself, since she didn't know this boy. Good, meet everyone. Reinath interrupted. Go back to your boasting. Miya sighed. Though she couldn't hear what the other dragons were saying, Reinath let her hear what she was saying to them. "If you really are so cold, there is only one way to get warmer." She said slowly. Her dark brown eyes looked at the slightly younger boy.

The ignornant fool is forgetting something Gerenanth. Just because he is hiding, does not mean he can not be found Ebbeth said as he dipped his head under water, only to raise it in time to be hit with the waves from Reinath. Is that a challenge, little gold He said, taunting and teasing her.
"What if I am calling myself fat? I mean, I did have one too many sweet rolls. Oh well. This just means I can squish people." Akki said with a shrug. Well, what looked like a shrug anyways. It's hard to shrug while swimming, you know. "K'dan, when do I ever turn down a challenge?" She asked, winking at the boy. She punched her arm into the air and said loudly, "Jakel, rider of nothing because all dragons think you smell funny, we accept your challenge. Get ready to get beaten!".
She was going to swim over to Jakel, but paused when she noticed someone. Someone new. "Ha! Seems like I won't have to go anywhere G'han if new people keep showing up." She said with a laugh and listened in on his and Miyas conversation. "There is only one way to get warmer?" She said quietly before started laughing, "Am I the only one who sees hidden meanings in that?".
Just because I am large, doesn't mean I still can't squish you for commenting on my size. All I have to do is sit down 'accidently' on you Ebbeth said, with a indignant sniff, for everyone to hear as he eyed the new comer.
