Sh'iron nodded to Christae's words. Yes, the Harpers were always the most trusted people on Pern. Everyone listened to them. "Mabey we can get the Harpers to sings songs to the Holds about their duty to us." He put in. Yes, get the Harpers to sing the Teaching Songs again.
---------------
Falnor nodded. "Yes, that is a good idea, Sh'iron." She said. It was. Remind the Holders that even if Thread didn't come back, they still had to tithe to the Weyrs. It was their duty to do so. The Halls produced people to work in the Holds. The Holds tithed to the Weyrs. The Weyrs then protected the Halls and the Holds from THread. It was a never ending circle.
------------------
"I think we are going to be the last ones." Nike whispered back to Kia as she watched the meeting. "Yes." She didn't known much about D'ran and his Harpering skills. He spent too much time with his dragon. Ruanth looked up at her with surprise. He could say the same about you. The white said. I know. But there are other Healers to take my duty until we are done with Weyrling Lessons. Same with D'ran. Alright. You win.

"That is settled then, we will send a messenger to the Harpers. Our own Weyr Harpers should help as well. I will tell our own Weyrsinger, D'ran." Christae took her quill and wrote down some notes on the hides in front of her.
"Now, we should discuss Weyr Games. We all know that the Games are essential to preparing ourselves for Threadfall. I wish to propose an Inter-Weyr competition. Just a friendly competition, of course, but something to give our riders a bit more of a boost to make them work harder. I am not saying that they won't work hard without competition, but it will take away from the tediousness of drills and exercises."

R'kim stood up. "An excellent idea. That's just the kind of thing our riders need is some friendly competition between other riders from other weyrs. I am sure every wery and rider would benifit from this", he said enthused by the idea of some friendly competition.

"That is a wonderful idea. It would be much more challenging and would allow the weyrlings to meet weyrlings from other weyrs. Southern weyr would be happy to participate in this Pern-wide compition." L'mis explained.

Christae smiled. "I would like to hear feedback from the rest of the werys. If we cannot come to an unanimous agreement, then we will vote, but I hope that we all agree withought having to pose a vote."

Lezay was particularly delighted at the idea, and she only glanced at T'sor for permission to speak before standing up along with the other Weyrleaders.
"I think it's a very good idea. Enough young riders have never been to the other Weyrs before, it's a good chance for them to meet others." She nodded to L'mis in agreement.

Br'tan was quick to give approval. "Splendid," he said but he did not stand up. He just sat straight in his chair and spoke loudly. "The Riders need a little competition and with new Riders they won't know what to expect- make them ready for anything."
Hathea looked half-heartedly at the slightly large, very loud man. He was so sharding annoying. "I like the idea," she said curtly and her Weyrleader nodded in aggrement. She liked the idea of proving her Riders better.

"I don't know if the little weyrs can compete with the major weyrs." S'kel's voice insinuated an insult to the host weyr.

R'kim stood up annoyed at S'kel's response. "We will see how each weyr competes. I would not be so hastey to judge S'kel. Unless of course you can predict the future. If so that would be a talent we could put to better use other than condesending our fellow weyrs and riders". He pratically spat out the word S'kel. ~The arrogance of that Igen weyrleader. As if his weyr is so much better. To be honest I hope this weyr out does his. I would be all to happy to watch that take place before my very eyes~, R'kim said to his dragon. Calm down mine. Now is not the time to let your temper get the best of you. Remember we talked about keeping that under control during the meeting. ~Sorry. Your right but I couldn't just sit by and let him spit insults at a fellow weyr~, R'kim replied.
Kadire looked at her weyrmate then spoke up, "I agree S'kel. Now is not the time for us to be trading insults about one another. Our priority should be to support our fellow weyrs and prepare for thread". That always seemed to be her way. To say things in a calmer and smoother way than her weyrmate R'kim.

Miya eyes bursted on fire. SHe stood up angrily but was able to keep her voice low and the volume of that of normal speech. "How could you know? You aren't a weyrling, well, last time I checked. We will be able to put up a fight so just have your weyrlings prepared. Then we will see who will do better." Miya sat down, a smile hiding in her head but her face remaining emotionless.

Hathea nodded her head slightly. The wheels in her head turned, thinking of a way to say things. "The larger, older Weyrs have greater experience with Thread so we know many techniques. That and we can train more often because we have ebough food too," and she added in an undertone, "Just not enough to train so much though Thread does not come." Even her Weyrmate, who sat beside her, could not decipher her mumbling.

N'ryd nodded, " That sounds like a fine idea, Telgar will support it." (( Sorry about the short post but I am not having alot of ideas and not enough time either ))

Christae smiled at everyone. "I think that is the majority then." She marked down a few more notes on her hide. "Inter-Weyr games will be added to our agendas then." She looked to Sh'iron. "Are there any questions?" She asked, wanting to make sure that they understood and hear her weyrmate's feedback before she pressed on.

Christae looked at her hide. "We have discussed Threadfall, training techniques and tithing. What is our next order of business?" She looked to Sh'iron.
~Kaith, have Myranenth bespeak Sh'iron and ask if it is time to have Nike and Kia come in.~
Yes beloved.

Sh'iron looked down at his own hide. "Yes, we have transfer riders." The young Weyrleader stood up and looked out at the Weyrleaders. Christae told Kaith, who told me to tell you, when are Nike and Kia going to enter. The bronze said in such a voice that made Sh'iron mentaly snort. Tell Kaith to tell Christae, at the very end.
"Since the Weyr Games will be coming up, and Thread to follow, Dark Moon is offering an idea to help let the Weyrs see how the others are doing in their training. Basicly all we want to do is send one ride of each Weyr to another for two sevendays. Then those riders in each Weyr can report back on how the Weyrs are doing," Sh'iron said looking at each one. His gaze hoping to be strong.
"Want we want to get out of this is to know what each Weyrs' taicts will be when thread comes around. This will help us when we start the Pass. Afterall, when the second Pass began, two wings of a Weyr close by to one that was going to fight would join that Weyr, and get the "feeling" of fighting Thread. This will help each Weyr know what the others are all about." At this, the bronze rider stopped, and let the others voice their opinions.
((That really stunk. And I swear there are like two hundrend and fifty misspelled words in there.))

R'kim was nudged by Kadire to speak. She gave a look to let him know she agreed with this. "Kadire and I agree to this. Getting the feel of how each weyr does things is a good idea. To know each others tactics creates a stronger bond and allows us to put up a stronger fight when we unite to get rid of this menace", R'kim said, standing up and looking at his fellow weyrleaders. "I think it would be good for every weyr to support this", he continued, stressing every. He sat down and waited for reactions.

"That does indeed sound like a good idea but problems can rise up. Unfortuantly, no one is perfect and sometimes one can hold a grudge against another. If one from one weyr ends up not liking, lets say, a rider or even a weyrleader then they might give that weyr a bad review just to get back at the person. Unfortuantly, these things happen. But, I think this can be avoided if perhaps we decided to send maybe two or three riders. This way you can hear more then one point of view on a weyr. Not just maybe they arn't to find of the weyrleader. And the third may say that the weyrleader is simply strict but a good romodel and just not a passionate or emotional person." L'mis explained thoughtfully.

Falnor turned to her mate. "I also agree with these two Weyrs. Do you?" She asked as she placed her hand on his arm. "And the quicker we get this over with, the faster we can see our son." Even though she hadn't been around much when F'tan grew up, but she tried as best as she could to do so. She knew that many female riders didn't call their children son or daughter because they were raised by someone else, but she did. She had given birth to them, and loved them just like she loved her mate and dragon. But she loved her dragon longer than anyone. Her parents were dead, and her queen was the only one left. She heard her thoughts, and loved her as much as Falnor loved her. Next came her mate, and Pern. then her children and the Weyr. Pern was her home, if the Weyr was gone, she still had someplace to go, but if Pern was gone, she was also gone.

"Interesting point. I hadn't thought of that. I can see how personal feelings of the individual rider might get in the way of judgement. But the thing is can we spare so many riders. You take into account that each weyr here would get 2-3 riders. For each weyr that maybe more than the weyr can spare because each rider in the weyr has his significant role to play. The question also arises that should we send 2-3 riders to each weyr within the same 2 seven day or should we do each weyr individualy 2 sevendays at a time. In the first instance we would have more time but in the latter instance we would have more riders. It all comes down to that, riders vs. time", R'kim stated not sure how darkmoon had planned to send riders, rather it be all the weyrs in one swoop or a weyr each 2 sevenday.

Br'tan looked to Falnor. "Of course, sure it has flaws but we can work around them," he said quietly to her. He stood to speak. "You misunderstand, R'kim. Each Weyr that gives Riders will be recieving others from a different Weyr. I find it best we not waste time. Maybe one rider can go in and on the second sevenday of their stay another rider comes. On the sevenday after that the first leaves and a third comes. Thaat is, if we do use three. Otherwise just with two." He nodded and smiled to his Weyrmate.
Hathea, though, was much more skeptical about the idea. She kept her voice low when she whispered, "We don't have to lower ourselves to the levels of these little Weyrs." To D'nyr, though, it sounded more like, "We love this." Sure there were gaps but he figured this was what she said. "Hathea and I also like the idea." Hathea glared at D'nyr and slapped his hand gently but seriously. He looked at her with a perplexed face and shrugged.
