Kia nodded, getting ready. "Fine with me," she muttered, thinking of a strategy.
~-~
D'ran also got ready when he heard his name. He nodded to Nike and said, "That's great."

"Well T'rin that just leaves you. Are you ready?", G'han asked. Gerenanth laughed at his bonded's eagerness. ~What~, G'han asked. You just can't wait to show off can you? You just love competitions and such just so you can show off. G'han glared at his dragon. ~This is time for me to have fun with my friends~, G'han said innocently. Sure. ~Just shut it and go play or something~, G'han snapped back.

T'rin started awake. He yawned and said, "Yeah, yeah, I'm ready." He stood up and stretched.
You are lazy. You will never win like that.
~Be quiet,~ T'rin replied irritably.

"Well that is everyone. Let's get started. Everyone line up and someone can give us the go", G'han said.
K'dan nodded and lined up along G'han. He would have asked Hydrath but he was still sleeping. He sighed at his sleepy dragon and waited for someone to get the race started for them.

T'rin went to stand next to K'dan and G'han, still waking up. Amparath did not reply to his call, so he couldn't count for them.

Nike grinned and got ready by the three male riders. Oh, she couldn't wait for this sweet victory!

D'ran swam up next to the four. He probably wouldn't win but he would at least try to. "If Aureth is awake he can," D'ran suggested. His offer was quickly proven impossible from a loud snore. "Lazy Blue," he muttered.
~|~|~
Kia also swam up next to everyone. "Kylath, you say it," she said. Kylath snorted and swam up to everyone. She treaded water a little above them and her side was to their face almost like a "T" with a big gap. [shadow=red,left,300]Is everyone ready?[/shadow]

"Well everyone has already said they are ready but yes I am", G'han said. He looked over and saw K'dan nod that he was ready. He looked at the weyrling's face and smiled. He had a look of determination. He knew K'dan wouldn't be easy to be beat.

"Yep," said T'rin, more than awake now. "I'm ready."
((eek, so short!))

Akki quickly got in line and nodded before saying, "I'm ready to kick some butt, preferably yours though Kia!". Grinning wildly she waited happily for the race to begin, this should be interesting.

"We are holding our breath, right?" Kia pushed Akki gently and got ready in time to hear a loud word from her dragon. [shadow=red,left,300]Go!![/shadow]Kia had not pushed Akki rouhly and the Rider was probably ready to start by the time her dragon started the race. She assumed the answer to her question was yes and took a deep breath before diving under the clear blue.

D'ran followed suit and dove under.

Before Akki had a chance to nod at Kia's question she was pushed slightly, but quickly righted herself just in time to hear the word to go. She quickly took a deep breath and dived under, propelling herself forward with just her arms, leaving her legs to rest until the time came to use them.

G'han dove in and began swimming after the others. He wasn't in the lead yet but would go for it eventually.
K'dan dove under as well and followed along side G'han. He wasn't going to be foolish enough this time to fall for anything.

Nike dove under, and raced for the lead. She had endurance, and speed, so she should, no would win this race. Her slender arms and legs pumping her along. She knew when she would need a breath. She was going to win.

K'dan smiled as he watched Nike take the lead. He looked over to G'han who seemed content with letting her take it. He was up to something again. Though he was sure of his strategy. Having trained with him it was easier to tell what he was up to than before.
G'han grinned when Nike took the lead. Good she took the lead early, perfect, he thought to himself. G'han had the endurance and speed he needed, though the others racing along with him and how good they were was the issue at hand. He knew he could easily hold his breath and swim there and back, though he had to determine the other's speed and endurance for him to be sure of a victory. If he underestimated them he would probably lose. He swam at a slow pace analyzing the others though with secrecy so he wouldn't give anything away. No one was going to notice him.

((30 pages!)) Kia had been working mainly on endurence and could hold a constant speed that was pretty fast. She pulled up to near Nike's feet. G'han was probably planning a similar stargey as the one he had before. She figured she would beat him, especially with where the finish line was.
~|~|~
D'ran wasn't doing too hot. He wasn't much of a swimmer. Perhaps he was pretty good on land but his shoulders were a little bulky so he wasn't too aerodynamic. Nike and Kia were much thinner and, well, slender. There was less resistance for them.

Akki didn't pull forward when Nike shot forward and took the lead. She smiled thinly and continued at her own pace. She knew her plan, whether it was going to work or not she didn't know though, but still. She stayed at her steady pace and watched, the water stinging her eyes slightly.

G'han quickened his pace a bit to where it would have no effect on him and swam up to about Nike's waist and continued at that pace.
K'dan chose to stay at the same speed and watch the others up ahead. G'han pulled infront of him. He decided to watch the ones infront of him and assess the situation before making his move.

T'rin had dozed again, and by the time he woke, all the other racers had set off. Instead of trying to catch up, T'rin just laid back down in the water and napped.
You are lazy. Amparath was gravely disappointed in his Chosen.
~You just hatched yesterday, where did you learn all this complaining?~ the bronzerider replied sleepily, not waiting for an answer.
Amparath amused himself by swimming around in the lake, seeing how deep he could swim and for how long, quite bored.

Kia quickened his pace to even out with G'han. She was still okay. She thought back to her training. She wouldn't have as much time with Kylath around.
Kylath looked back at T'rin sleeping. [shadow=red,left,300]Mine, look at T'rin.[/shadow]Kia took a glance in the water and saw him laying. She figured he fell asleep. Kylath sunk into the water and popped out from under the boy.
