K'dan watched as Kia pulled ahead to be even with G'han. Now there was only Akki and D'ran since T'rin wasn't in the race. So it was Nike with a slight lead and G'han and Kia even for second. He would hang back a bit and see what Akki and D'ran would do next as well as watch the others ahead.
G'han grinned when Kia pulled beside him. This time will be different, he thought. He quickened his pace even more to be even with Nike, putting no strain on him. He had speed and endurance to spare, though he wasn't going to go too much faster otherwise he might not keep a faster pace for the same length.

Nike didn't look behind her when the others pulled closer, she only sped uo slightly so she would be ahead of the two.
She could see the wall of the Weyr coming up ahead of her. As soon as she would reach that point, and turned around,
speed was going to be it all. Good thing she was so skinny.

G'han saw Nike speed ahead of him and noticed he was coming towards the wall of the weyr. He sped up along side of her at a continual pace.
K'dan noted the wall ahead and sped up to be to G'han's shoulders. He would go faster if he had to but he would wait for now.

((I'll right, I'm making this race short.))
Nike didn't look over to G'han and K'dan, she could see the wall more clearly.
It was so close! She knew she could hold her breath for awhile, but this place was the best place to get one.
There she was there!
Nike went above the water and took a breath, then she dove back under, did a forward-roll so her belly was facing the sky.
She pushed off of the wall with her feet, so she was speeding up ahead. Once the healer had straightened out, she pumped her arms and legs fast and then she was in the lead, and coming in fast towards the diving rock.

G'han smiled, he was going to end this race soon. He followed Nike's lead pushing off and speeding forward. He continued pumping to catch up to her. He was even with her and heaidng towards the end.
K'dan followed the others and did the same thing. He pulled along side the two but soon pulled slightly ahead.
G'han saw K'dan pull ahead of him and decided to even himself out with K'dan. He didn't know how much longer the weyrling could handle the strain of speed needed to keep ahead of Nike and himself. Though G'han had to admit it was starting to put a strain on him. He was sure he could handle it until the end of the race.

Nike smiled to herself when G'han and K'dan pulled in front of her.
Just what she wanted them to do.
The Weyrling kicked her legs and pumped her arms and soon she was infront of the two.
If she could get a good enough lead, she would win.
She kicked hard, making sure to get bubbles in K'dan and G'han's faces, and sped up, getting closer to the rock.

K'dan watched as G'han evened himself with him and then Nike passing him. He pulled slightly above Nike though the strain was hard. He continued his pace with much endurement.
G'han watched as he was put in third. He wouldn't go down so easily if he wasn't going to win that was. He sped up putting himself above K'dan, though himself now feeling the stress put on by the sudden burst of speed. He was closing towards the end, he had to keep going. Maybe he had a shot at winning this if only his body could last out.

She sped up, now using her arms and legs to pump her forward. She reached the halfway point, turned and pushed off with her legs and shot forward quickly. She had to grin, she had lots of energy left because she was last before and now was the time to use it. She narrowed her eyes slightly and felt herself speed up, and slice through the water easily. Before long she had caught up to the others, after all she wasn't that far behind.

Kia grinned at G'han.
It was almost arrogance.
She evened out with him and then sped up to be even with Nike.
The wall was close and she could hold her breath that long.
As the features became clear, she shot up for a quick breath and turned in the water.
With a powerful pump off the wall, she sped up next to Nike.
Her hands were straight before her and she did not kick until she was running out of speed.
She was behind the two at first when all sped up but then she started to really go.
She evened out so now she was tied for first.

D'ran did not have such luck.
He really wasn't much of a swimmer and wasn't built for it.
He did get a good kick off the wall but now Akki sped up and he was dead last.
He sped to be at the ends of their feet but was still behind them all.

G'han sped up more to put himself infront of Kia. He was coming to the end and he was in the lead.
K'dan quickened his pace and positioned himself between Kia and G'han but now he was feeling the stress from the speed he gained. He made sure to kick bubbles at Kia and the others and would try his best to make sure they didn't pass him again. He wanted no distractions because he wanted his focus to be on winning and beating G'han.

Kia simply went just a bit lower to avoid K'dan's bubbles.
Now she easily passed him though she was getting to the end of her nedurence.
She could see the finish in the distance, getting closer.

K'dan wouldn't give up so easily. He was out to prove he wasn't easy to beat. He lined up with Kia and then with great strain passed her. He was almost even with G'han and the finish was coming up. If he wasn't going to win he atleast had to make it look good.

Kia glared jokingly at K'dan while under the water.
She streached her arms before her and with a bit of strain, passed all before her, barely in first place.
She saw the finish.
Anyone who tried to pass her she would even out with to at least tie for first.
They really couldn't pass her, at least that was how she felt.
Perhaps if the finish were further it would not stay that way.

Nike let the other swimmers pass her. Then once she was near last, and had one large burst of energy
to burn, she pushed forward, and came into the lead.
There it was, the rock. Not even a few feet infront of her.
She pumped faster, then reached her hands out.
Then she felt the cool rock crash into her hands.
The Healer broke the surface and leand against the rock.
She had won! Ha! She took deep breaths to even out her breathing, and grinned to her friends.
"Told you that I would win!" Nike said with a toothie grin.

((I am maing Kia tie for first because she has been training with swimming and though this is not real life, at least that much should be realistic.))
Kia had gone deeper and stayed even with Nike when the Healer went faster.
She saw Nike touch the rock just as she did but above her.
The Weyrling popped out of the water.
"You didn't beat me," she said with a proud smile.

Nike turned to Kia.
"Yes Kia, but we beat everyone else!"
She said climbing up ontop of the rock.
"Kia and I are the Masters of the water! No one cane beat us!"
The healer grinned and rose her right first into the air, as she stood above them.

Kia also stood on the rock but with diffrent intentions.
"Yes, good job, Nike," she said with an evil smile.
The Weyrlking tackled Nike enough to send them both into the water.

Nike fell into the water with a large smack.
Once she was under she swam over to the rock, then climbed back on it, sitting this time.
"I'm gonna get you Kia!" She said shaking her fist.
"Me, and my army of firelizards!" At that moments a large fair ofer firelizards appeared
above Nike.
Thank you ,love. She told her dragon.
The white grinned to herself, telling the firelizards to land around the rock with Nike.
The Healer grinned and had a smug look on her face.

K'dan passed Kia again and stayed even pace with G'han. The two were too focused on each other to realize Kia and Nike passed them to win. THe two glared at each other as it was a constant struggle between who would beat who. Finally the two came to the finish and tied. They looked over to notice Nike and Kia already there. At the same time the two smacked their foreheads and realized their blunder.
"Good race all of you", G'han said with a smile. "K'dan you are doing well. I think I will have to go harder on you with your training", he said to the blue weyrling. G'han looked at his weyrmate and the blue and green flitts curled with her. He curled next to her and disturbed his blue flitt though soon Azure rested himself on G'han and fell back asleep. G'han soon fell asleep next to his weyrmate.
"Thanks I think", K'dan said to G'han. He looked over at the two girls. "Good job", he said to them. He went back to the spot he was laying down at before and went to sleep again. Sharan went to him and curled next to him to sleep.

Akki finished after the rest and said, "I think you all cheated. Heck, I'm sure of it so there for I won!".She laid on her back and sighed gleefully. Sargon landed on her, cherping happily as he curled up on her stomach, pretending she was a rock for him to sleep on. "Ger'roff." Akki mumbled, though she didn't mind the flitt.
