((This is an open RP. Anyone is allowed to join. (: ))
Panalu stretched, relaxing with his feet dipping into the waters of Lake Tyuru. It wasn't quite the same as the ocean, but if he laid back in the sand and felt the sun on his face, he could almost imagine he was back on the shore.
Not that he wanted to be back there, exactly. He was happy to be at the Weyr, still enormously proud and full of himself for being Searched at all. He'd not spent much time with his fellow candidates yet, but he figured that there was plenty of time to meet everyone in the sevendays to come. Palu had spent most of his time exploring, meeting Weyrfolk, branching out. A few of the lasses from the Lower Caverns seemed to be pretty good prospects for him and he was for the most part content with his situation.
Palu jerked out of his reverie, realizing he'd almost fallen asleep in the sun. He sat up, brushing the sand out of his hair and fixing his clothes, gazing out over the calm waters of the lake and pretending that he could hear waves rolling in with percussive force. But alas, they were fresh, not salty, and no friendly delphinic face popped up to greet him. He missed Luka, a dolphin that he'd been getting close to before he'd gotten Searched.
Shaking the thought off, he glanced around at the Weyr around him, wondering if anyone else was about. He really should meet more of his fellow candidates.

OOC| Anyone huh? Totally epic. The flitts were out and about, chattering there heads off, and all the dragonrider's were out enjoying themselves before attending to there daily duties. The Weyrlings had a bit of free time, which was a surprise since most of the time they were either swamped with there lessons or complaining about the amount of chores that were given them. R'xis never complained, he knew why they were made to do things so precisely and he admired the Weyrling Master for keeping the lot of them so orderly. He had his moments where he too felt like nothing more then a lazy boy but he had to own up to the fact that he was becoming a man and now had a dragonet of his own. Every one had suspected that he'd get a male dragon-of course-like the rest of the male Candidates that had been present (and the male Candidates before there time). Instead, he had been blessed with a rare commodity. He had received a brown 'female' dragonet, who's gender was only known to a few (one of which was the girl he had his heart wrapped up in). She, conveniently, was the rider of Blue Ebbeth. He could just see it now, on the day of Ersith's rising Ebbeth would be right there to catch her and Akki would finally-after all his many days of complaint-be in his arms. He had obeyed the rules, despite dismay, and had kept away from furthering his relationship with her. He had also managed to overcome his depression due to that same rule, and focus sully up on his dragonet. Ersith walked along side him, enjoying the feel of Rukbat up on her oiled hide. She looked up at her rider, her eyes whirring a pleasured green. He was always deep in thought, his mind was like a book; she was always learning something new about him. She knew that she had made the right choice in choosing him for she felt that no other could love her more-and she delighted very much so in the company of Akki and Ebbeth. The mute Blue was quite sarcastic, and she endorsed his humor. I had a good nap back at the Weyrling Barracks. Its been a relaxing couple of days-hasn't it? she asked. She was often good at starting a conversation with those she felt most comfortable around. I guess 'you' could say that, he teased, your hardly ever having to do any work. He laughed, knowing that she always felt bad by the thought that she made R'xis do everything. Up on seeing her turn her wedge-shaped head away he apologized, and said that he was only meaning to tease her since she always teased him quite often. She butted her head gently against his leg, her way of showing friendly affection. Its hard not to tease you Mine, you make it so easy. R'xis muttered something under his breath that there after created a wide-spread grin up on his face. The pair were walking along the perimeters of the lake; Ersith's attentive focus of her surroundings made her stop and stare at the male Candidate sitting on the edge by the water. She looked from him to R'xis, hoping that Hers would choose to be sociable. She'd never seen Palu around before and made the assumption that he must be new. "Hey, great hang-out place isn't it?" R'xis called out-wondering if the boy would turn around to reply.

Darkness...in the beginning was it always dark? Voices, were there supposed to be voices? If there were voices, where did they come from? In his head-his head...but whose head was it? Who was he? Where was he?
After the darkness, there comes light. Just a bit at first, slowly infiltrating the senses, as his eyes began to flutter open, and the pain began to make itself manifest. With a groan, he heard his voice-that was his voice now, wasn't it? It must have been. The light hurt his eyes-how long had it been dark for? He couldn't remember...he couldn't remember anything. Fear, and questions, so many questions. And he had answers for none of them. But the voices-they might have answers. He'd heard a voice call out-a male's voice, surely? Somewhere in his half-wakefulness of recollection, he was sure it had been male. Opening his eyes fully, shielding them from the bright light of the mid-day sky overhead with one hand, he squinted. At first things appeared blurry-but only for a moment as his vision began to clear. His head hurt...why was it hurting? But that, too, was about as much a mystery as everything else he wondered.
He sat up, another groan of pain, as the other hand that was not shielding his eyes went to the back of his head. A large lump-where had that come from? It was obviously the source of his pain. And another lump, smaller but no less painful, near the front of his head. There was no blood, just bruised tissue and the pain, along with bumps that he knew had to have come from somewhere. He blinked in the bright sunlight, and his hands went to his eyes, where he rubbed them. How long had he been lying here, near this lake? There was a large pile of rocks beside him, and a pack. Was it his? The contents were scattered around him, and he picked up a crumpled piece of paper, reading it slowly, once, and then again. "Good luck, Rhiyo!" he mouthed the words aloud, once, and then again. His lips were dry, and he realised that he was thirsty. A rumble of his stomach told him that he was also hungry. He licked his parched lips, looking about him fully for the first time.
What was that there? Were those people? Yes, they were people-did he know these people? Then the horror of it hit him-he didn't know them. Because he didn't know anyone. He didn't even know who he was-but wait? Rhiyo...that was a name. And if he assumed the pack was his, then might not that be his name? Yes, that must of been so...but the people. They were there, and he was here-maybe they knew him, even if he didn't know them. Maybe they could tell him who he was, what he was doing here. For a moment, an irrational thought passed through his mind, but he dismissed it-what if they were the ones who'd given him these lumps? But no-they didn't even seem to notice he was here, amongst these rocks and tall grasses. He tried standing up, his legs were shaky, as if he'd not used them for a bit-but perhaps he could attribute his shakiness to the lumps on his head, the dizziness he felt. Taking a deep breath, he stood up, and began walking towards the person who he could see, even from this distance, was closest to where he was. He tried calling out, but his voice cracked-it was dry and speaking hurt his throat. However, he tried again, and managed a servicable volume, "Hello!" It was all he could think of to say-what else could he say? How could he have not noticed-that was a dragon by the person! A male with a brown dragon, and another male, there, nearer the lake-was that who the male with the dragon had called out for? It couldn't have been himself, because he'd been out of sight...wait-perhaps these two were searching for him! A hopefulness filled him, as he began to walk as fast as his shaky legs permitted him towards the other two. It didn't occur to him to be wary of the dragon-dragonriders were good, that much he felt sure of. He remembered dragonriders. They were good people...they fought thread! If he could remember that, how come he couldn't remember anything about himself? He cringed inwardly...

Palu turned to see who had called to him, jerked out of his reverie. His eyes fell on the dragon first, boy second... but he still grinned at R'xis. "It sure is!" he agreed. "Almost as good as the ocean."
He wasn't sure if he should get up to greet a Weyrling but he did anyway, brushing off his shorts. "I don't think I've met you before," he started, coming closer and holding out his hand for a shake, his eyes inexorably shifting to Ersith although he was plainly speaking to R'xis.
"I'm Panalu, I just arrived a few days ago... I'm a candidate," he grinned affably.
Hearing another call, Panalu tipped up his chin to look over the taller boy's shoulder, where Rhiyo was staggering into view. "Hey there! You ok?" Palu called back, glancing at R'xis, his eyes begging the question-- did he know who that guy was?

'Ah, good, he's kind' R'xis thought to himself. Though, in truth, he had yet to come up on an unkind person living in Dark Moon Weyr. Every one was pleasing to talk to and each person always had something interesting to say. "Its nice to meet you Panalu, my names R'xis," he replied. He accepted the offered hand, shaking it firmly. He smirked a bit, it soon disappearing when he motioned to his dragonet. "This is Ersith". The brown crooned as a greeting of her own, deciding not to speak out to those she didn't know. She knew that R'xis would have a lot to talk about with Panalu, especially since he had already been in the role of Candidacy. "There's nothing quite as exciting as being a Candidate standing for a hatching," R'xis chuckled. He couldn't believe that he was speaking from experience. If some one had told him to this day that he was going to be a dragonrider he'd be just as shocked every time it was said. Nothing felt better then having his dream lived out. When Panalu motioned to some one behind him, and he heard a voice calling out: "Hello," he turned around. His sandy blond bangs fell in to his shimmering blue eyes.
He could tell that the boy appeared as if he was staggering, as well as having been laying in the dirt from the look of his attire... R'xis turned back to Panalu for a quick moment, mirroring his look of confusion. "Can we help you?" he asked, sizing the unfamiliar boy up. Something about him was surely making Ersith uneasy. She wouldn't stop shifting about. "Ersith?" R'xis questioned. She didn't reply, her sights focused up on the boy as he came nearer and nearer. R'xis narrowed his eyes a bit, awaiting the boy's approach now also.

Rhiyo-for he'd decided that this must be his name-couldn't hide the disappointment that flashed across his face at the replies he received from the other two boys near the lake. Their looks of confusion and queries plainly said that they'd likely never even seen him before, and washed away any hopes he had that they might have known him. He shook his head, trying to think, but decided that he'd better just take one thing at a time-otherwise he knew he'd be overwhelmed by all of this. So, he finally drew near to them, and nodded politely to the brown dragon-somehow he was sure that this was likely the right thing to do-and then began, his tone tentative at first, "I guess you don't know me after all," and here he paused, his eyes clouding for a moment before he gave a wry half-smile before going on, "that's okay-I don't know me either." Wait-that would likely confuse them, so, feeling a bit uneasy, he added, "I'm Rhiyo-or at least that's what this says, or I think it does, anyway..." he trailed off for a moment, fumbling for the slip of parchment that he'd tucked away in his side-pocket, and pre-offered it to the brownrider. He smiled weakly at the pair-what would they think of him-he sounded odd, even to himself.
At least the looks on their faces displayed concern, and not malevolence. He felt somehow that these must be good people-the one boy who was not with dragon had asked if he was all right, and the one who was had asked if he needed aid. 'Yes', he reassured himself, 'these people can be trusted, I believe'. He had to believe that, anyhow-who else could help him? There didn't appear to be anyone but these two around. His mind was still trying to impose upon him question after question, and he kept having to dismiss them, push them aside, and focus on the two he was now addressing. It wasn't easy, however. He wanted answers-and wanted them badly.
R'xis approximation of Rhiyo was accurate. His clothes had dirt on them, and there was an obvious bruising and lump that could be seen on the front of his head, now that he'd come to stand in front of them. That same lump, as well as the one on the back of his head, were throbbing painfully, but he chose to ignore them, if he did so, the pain grew duller. He knew how he must look to them, and then the thought that the paper had been picked up wrapped around something in his bag hit him, and he had the impulse to see what it had been-something made from leather-perhaps a further clue? But his manners-he realized someone must have given him that quality-kept him from doing anything while he was yet speaking to these two. Perhaps he would inquire if he might draw the item out in a bit. For now, just one thing at a time...

On the path, leading down to the clear lake, two people (And a dragonet) stood. One was hunched over slightly, coughing loudly, as the other one gently hit her on the back. Akki stood up, hair flying behind her as she did so, one hand rubbing her neck. "I think I just choked on my own tongue!" The blue rider exclaimed in dismay, wanting to never experience that sensation again. "I knew I was hungry, but I didn't think I would try to eat myself." She said with a frown as she gave Hasima a thumbs up for smacking her on the back in hopes of helping her. Maybe you thought you would taste good? The yellow dragon that stood dutifully at Hasima's side asked. Hasima giggled lightly, something she was doing more and more it seemed, as Akki had a look of pure dismay cross her face. "You've been spending too much time with Ebbeth, Rimith. You're getting snarky like him!".
Ebbeth was in fact lounging in their Weyr right now, but he would probably come down to the lake soon enough if there was a big enough crowd for him. Their own little group continued down the path, talking about whether or not tongue would be a delicious treat to eat. Akki said it could be good, but Hasima and Rimith were both saying that it would probably not taste so great. Hasima tugged on Akki for a second, motioning to the crowd at the lake already they could be just made out. "Is something happening?" The softly spoken girl inquired. Akki shrugged, wondering that herself now that Hasima had pointed out the people. As the trio came closer and closer, they could make out R'xis and Ersith, but all three drew a blank when they looked at the other two people. Surely they must be new, or had was Akki behind in meeting and greeting everyone she possibly ever could?
They trotted up behind R'xis, and Akki put her elbow on his shoulder and leaned slightly on him. "What's everyone looking at?" She asked, genuinely curious. She sucked in her breath for a moment as her eyes came across the nice, round bump on one of the unknown peoples heads. "Holy shards." Akki said, eyebrows raised as Hasima let out a soft "Oh, oh my.". She drew her face closer to Rhiyo's, and said, "That looks like it hurts. Shouldn't you have that checked out or something?".

Shino, a transferred candidate, walked along the lake's shores, a cylindrical pack on his back. He had an archaic smile which made many people think 'what is he thinking?'. As he stopped, he realized that he wasn't to far from other people, so he decided to go over and converse with these new people. He decided that, since he was transferring, he might as well introduce himself to them.
As he walked over he smiled and stopped at the group. He came up to one, who had a brown hatchling. He nodded respectfully and stopped. "Hello." He greeted cheerfully. "My name is Shino. I'm a transfer from the Southern weyr." He said this with an obvious accent. His black tunic also sort of gave him away.

Palu agreed with Akki, backing out of the growing crowd of people coming up to have a look at Rhiyo. Glancing sidelong at Shino, he grinned, but didn't say anything, interested in finding out more of that Rhiyo guy's story.

R'xis waited while Rhiyo was shuffling through his bag, obviously looking for something of importance. His wariness grew with each passing moment before a scroll was presented to him. He looked to Rhiyo's face, noticing the injuries, not pointing them out just yet. He nodded thankfully to the boy and took the scroll in both hands, looking it over. It told of the boys Candidacy here at Dark Moon Weyr, and how he was to stand for the next hatching. "So," R'xis began, looking up from the paper. "Undecided Rhiyo was it?" he clarified, smirking playfully. "I'm R'xis, Weyrling Rider of Brown Ersith". He looked over at the Brown dragonet, who had managed to inch forward so that her neck was now extended out to sniff at Rhiyo's pant leg. R'xis attempted to give result to her peculiar behavior, wondering still what had come over her. Her tail was wavering behind her, batting against him. He waved it all off for now, wanting to be able to help the boy out. "From what I can tell you aren't all that sure about your own name, not to be sounding rude or anything but... why is that?" R'xis remained looking down at the paper, as if studying it for something out of the norm. Meanwhile, since he wasn't paying attention, he didn't spot two of his friends making there way over to him at his right.
When Akki appeared by his side and placed her elbow on his shoulder he froze immediately, stiffening up. He recognized her touch from anywhere. Then at the sound of her voice he nearly jumped a mile high, the inconvenience of Ersith's tail being the cause of what made him stumble backward. He dropped what he had been holding and thankfully it landed by the owner's feet. Without logical thinking, since in a panicked state most people don't exert logic, R'xis grabbed for the closest thing to him. At the moment that was Akki's arm. He fell flat on his back, and just missed landing on top of Ersith. Are you trying to squish me? she sent to him fearfully. She snorted, her eyes whirring a slight tinge of yellow. Go figure that you'd-oh... she stopped, hesitant to go on. She spotted the cause for this embarrassing predicament and began to look about for the large blue around the lake. She didn't see him anywhere, however; hanging her head sadly.
R'xis turned to look at Ersith, laughing at her words. It was just so Ersith to be going on about how she could've been hurt despite the fact that he had been. He raised his head a bit to see what position Akki and him had been placed in. Its almost as if he had forgot that others were around, and Candidates nevertheless! What kind of impression had he gone and accidentally made for himself? Now the first thing that these boys would remember about him is that he had fallen in fear because of a-a... girl. His face reddened and he felt a bit hot. Then at the thought of this having not just been any girl, but Akki, caused his reddened face to be because he was blushing.
He was hoping for Akki's reaction any minute now. He expected her to burst out laughing; he was looking forward to it actually. Every time there was an unusually awkward moment Akki always managed to lighten the mood so things were less uncomfortable for every one... or at least sometimes...

Hasima was busy examining the bump on the boys head from where she stood, and even though she wasn't that close she couldn't help but wince slightly. Surely the boy would remember getting that bump, right? It looked like it would hurt, so how could he forget. As a new voice entered her head, both the girl and small dragon twisted themselves so they could see who the newcomer was. Hasima smiled, rather smally, at the new boy as Rimith examined him with whirling green eyes before crooning welcomely. "Hello. I'm Hasima." She said softly, her smile wavering slightly. She gestured to the yellow dragonet at her said, and introduced her as 'Rimith'.
Akki tossed her head over her shoulder, grinning at Shino as he introduced himself. What was this, some sort of 'Hey, everyone who's new should meet at the Lake' party? She loved it either way, this was much more fun than just lazing around all day waiting for something to happen. "I'm Akki of Blue Ebbeth. Nice to meet ya'." She said with a wink before letting out a low whistle as she turned back to Rhiyo. "See, even this guy here," She began, gesturing to Palu, "Agrees with me. You should definitely put something on that.".
Now, to say that she was expecting R'xis' reaction to be like that would definitely be a lie. She thought the boy would jokingly push her off or something, not have a reaction like the one he did. She would have tried to grab him as he fell, but she couldn't even react in time to do something like that. Instead she felt someone grasp her arm and the next thing she knew she was falling down right with him. As soon as she felt herself hit the ground, she twisted herself, pushed herself and bounced back up into a standing position.
She casually flicked her hair out of her face, placed a hand on her hip and breathed, "Well I hope that was as classy as I thought it was.". She looked down at R'xis, who was currently sprawled out on the ground, she bent down and held out her hand to him. "If you wanted to dance R'xis, next time give me a warning first. That wasn't the most graceful dance I've ever done." She said with a lopsided grin. She looked up and winked at Rhiyo before turning to Ersith, "Ebbeth is up in our Weyr right now, sleeping and just being his lazy ol' dragonic self."

R'xis accepted the offered hand, getting up. He dusted himself off a bit, trying to make it seem inconspicuous. "Well I didn't you hear you complaining the last time we danced," he smirked. Akki just popped up everywhere, its like no matter where he went she was there. He studied her face, really wishing he hadn't because it was all rushing back to him. Why did the girl have to be so... her. Of course that was like asking why the meatrolls always had the same flavor. He shook his head back and forth, looking away from her for a brief moment to scan the faces of the boys all around him. He looked to Ersith, confused by her disappointment. Oh come on, you can't possibly still be up set about that near crushing-could you? he asked her. He hoped that she wasn't in fact holding this against him. He needed some one to privately talk to every few minutes now that Akki was here. Ersith raised her head up, happy to see that her Rider was unharmed by the fall. Akki also appeared to be in one piece. No, that's not the case at all. Its just that... I had been hoping to see Ebbeth... R'xis looked over Ersith as if there was something wrong with her. Her evident attachment to Akki's Blue was something he couldn't quite comprehend. Did dragons really form such strong attachment-bonds with other dragons? He'll show up, especially since your here. Don't even worry about it, R'xis said; doing his best to be encouraging. Ersith gave a draconian smile, putting faith in R'xis' words.
R'xis smiled politely at the newest arrival. "Hello there, its nice to have you join our little group here. I'm R'xis, Weyrling Rider of Brown Ersith". Ersith crooned so that all eyes would turn to where she sat. R'xis tried to keep his focus on Akki but, once again-impossible. "So Akki, what brings you here?" he asked, having magically moved to her side again. Yes, R'xis was the worker of magic when he wanted to be. This specific magic he had performed was called: Walking a few steps, pretending that you can see every one better from your desired spot. He slipped an arm around Akki's shoulders casually. "How's it going Hasima?" he greeted the other girl; waving to the Yellow Rider. He then waved also to Rimith, grinning. He knew that Hasima was a lot like his sister in the sense that they were both very shy.
Ersith seemed pleased by the prescience of another dragonet. She hadn't had a lot of association with those not big and blue. Hello clutchsister, fine day for a walk to the lake is it not? Ersith always attempted to be a conversationalist. R'xis seemed satisfied for the time-being. Yep, he was just chipper.
OOC| xD I'm bordering the stage of insanity here as the time nears 1:00 AM-but don't want to sleep. So if any of my posts from here on in cause giggles of confusion and disbelief coming from any of you, lets just say you'll know why.

It seemed as if the boy who introduced himself as 'R'xis' was taking the lead in the conversation, and his brows furrowed in confusion as the boy seemed to be examining the other side of the scroll he'd been handed, before flipping it over to the side which he'd read-there imprinted merely 'good luck, Rhiyo'. His eyes widened visibly as the scroll was flipped over-there was writing on the other side too! He almost reached out and impulsively took the scroll back, but again his sense that this would be considered a rude action overcame his impulsiveness. Instead, he waited politely for the boy to be done speaking to him, and then blurted out, "the scroll-was there something written on the other side?" Then, raising a hand to his head, he winced, looking at Hasima, the rider who'd come in with the yellow dragonet-he wondered, then, if this was all some strange dream from which he might awaken at any given moment. He then watched as yet another person turned up-a girl, this time. It took no trained eye to gather enough information about R'xis' predicament when this newcomer showed up. He kept the bemused smile from crossing his lips, and then said a polite 'hello' to her, and then grimaced as yet another person showed up, and greeted them, as well.
Was this a popular gathering place or something? Because he was sure it had only been R'xis and the other boy, and then all these others began arriving. It was making him feel at odds with things-some of them didn't even appear to know one another, they were making introductions, and there were now more than two pairs of eyes on him. He nearly jumped out of his trousers when the brown dragon lowered its head and sniffed at his pant leg, startling him more than anyone's arrival could have done-but also bringing his mind back to where he should have been. And so, trying to not miss anyone's replies, he turned first to Hasima, and replied carefully, "I-I don't know where they came from. As for having them looked at..." and here there was an uncertain pause, before the severity of his predicament dawned on him and the pause grew longer as he looked at the people around him, and admitted finally, quietly, "I don't know who would do me the service. I have no idea where I am..." and then, to R'xis, he turned his gaze next, and added, "I am unsure. About everything...including my name. I-" here he paused again-admitting this was harder than he thought-would they think him crazy? Perhaps not even believe him? Well, there was naught he could do about it if they chose to do either. So, with a more decisive look of conviction in his eyes, "I don't know if that's my name or not. I had it, that scroll, in this pack-which I am assuming is mine, since it was the only thing with me when I awoke over there," and here he pointed to the area where the cluster of rocks and tall grasses was, before going on, "and I don't even remember how I got there to begin with. In fact, I don't remember anything before I awoke here, and saw you...I thought you might know, but as it has become clear to me you have no more idea than I!" The last was said with apparent exasperation, and not only a little frustration at the situation. He gave a heavy sigh, before he once again remembered the scroll that R'xis had been holding, now at his own feet after the predicament with the one who'd introduced herself as 'Akki'. He quickly bent over and picked it up, his eyes deftly and quickly scanning the words. His brows furrowed, and he looked confused for a moment. For some reason, what the paper said should have been important to him. And though he had known what a dragonrider was, and what a dragon was...why did the word Candidate fail to have any meaning for him? The location, however, held plenty of meaning-it meant he had somewhere to go! He scanned the scroll for any mention of who had written this paper, but it seemed more a note from someone who he was supposed to have already known-no name, just wishing him the best of luck at standing as a Candidate for Darkmoon Weyr. He looked up at R'xis, and pointed to the words 'Darkmoon Weyr', and then asked, "I am to go here...I don't know what this means," and here he pointed at the word 'Candidate' and then gave another exasperated sigh, and then, "please-could you tell me what it means, and do you know of this place?"
This had renewed a sense that he didn't have before-a sense of purpose. He now had somewhere to go, instead of aimlessly wandering about, floundering on his own. If he was meant to go there to be something, perhaps in being this something he could find more about what he had been! A sense of elation filled his chest, barely contained, and he found himself looking at the boy, R'xis, very intently indeed in his desire for the awaited answer. He realized he was staring very hard at him, then, and his gaze became less imposing, less severe, as his look became apologetic, and he said, much more quietly and imploringly, "I must know-it is the only thing that may help me at this point..." He hoped the other would understand this-and if R'xis didn't know where this place was, or what the scroll meant either-than surely one of the others might? Hopeful thinking was all he had at the moment-and he would certainly take that, rather than nothing at all.

Shino looked around and then walked over to the edge of the lake, not to far from the rest of the others, and unstrapped his pack. He slung it over his shoulder and setting it on the ground with a loud thud. He smiled as the sand rose and then settled. The impact was loud enough to make most people what was inside of it. Shino, however, didn't reveal that unless someone caught him rummaging through his pack. Most of it was supplies and clothes for the journey to the Dark Moon Weyr. However, there was a single object in there that would have stood out from the rest: A pair of fingerless gloves.
As he turned around, he saw the other new person and listened in on the conversation. He walked over, picking up the pack and setting it down as he stopped next to him. "You're looking for the Dark Moon Weyr?" Shino inquired hopefully. "So am I." He had every hope in the world that he wasn't the only person looking for this weyr. "I guess we're both equally lost then." Shino added after a few seconds of thinking as he rubbed the back of his head nervously.

Akki clucked her tongue, almost sympathetically and flicked the top of R'xis' ear. "You didn't hear me complaining because we've never danced before." She snickered, grinning. She did a dramatic roll of her eyes and said, jokingly with a sigh, "You really need to stop daydreaming about me, boy.". She brushed any and all the dust off of herself, it coming off in small clouds and she fixed her hair, "Hasima and I were just walking around and we saw you guys, and you know we can't say no to a get together.". Hasima, hearing her name mentioned, jerked her head toward R'xis just in time to catch his question. She replied with a soft smile and nodded a 'Good'. Rimith turned her head, facing the other dragon and crooned a greeting, Oh yes, it is. I hope you and your mine are doing well. What brought you down here?
Hasima frowned slightly, genuinely confused. Did the boy not care enough to remember where they came from, or was there some deeper thing going on? Could he just truly not remember, was it just blacked out of his memory. "Perhaps you could have them looked at back at the Weyr?" She offered quietly, not yet knowing that the boy did not know exactly where he was at the moment. Akki slipped away from R'xis' arm, not doing it rudely, but so she could take a step closer. She examined the boys face carefully, before snapping her fingers, "Well, we'll call you for Rhiyo for now. Unless you want to be called something else. I'm also going to guess the pack is yours, I mean, I don't think anyone would leave one behind and never come back, right?".
Akki's eyebrows rose, she had to admit she was mildly surprised as the boy asked R'xis where Dark Moon was. "Eh? You don't know where it is? Do you have any idea where you are?" She questioned. The boy couldn't hit himself on the head hard enough to lose parts or all of his memory...right? If this was true, then the boy must have gone through alot and must be genuinely confused. "Do you need a hug?" She offered with a crooked smile. Hey Ebbeth, you should probably come join us down here. There's some interesting things going on. The rider silently told the blue, waking him from his sleep as he rumbled a sleepy 'Fine'. She tapped three fingers against the side of her face and when she heard Shino also say that he didn't know where the Weyr was, she wiped away an imaginary tear. "Oh R'xis, Hasima. I feel like we're important people now with all the right information."

A lone figure sat a few yards away on the sandy beach, dull brown hair ruffled and tossed playfully by the errant breeze. Aneres's bony hand lifted to comb the hair down behind his ear. It was getting long, he thought absently. The Headwoman would probably track him down sometime and pin him to the bed so she could cut it. Well, she had to pin most of the boys to cut their hair. Aneres just sat there like a living statue, as he always did.
The Headwoman kept telling him that he needed to go talk to the others, go be social. On top of her chunnering that he needed to eat more, to run around and get some excersize, to not stay locked up in the Barracks all day, she was always chunnering at Aneres. Her words might as well have been said to a plank of wood, for all Aneres seemed to heed them. He just blinked his flat, olive eyes and kept doing whatever he'd been doing, which usually wasn't much.
Why he was out here, that was what Aneres wondered vaguely. He was well aware of the others, but turned his head whenever he caught the flash of gleaming dragonet hide. He didn't want to associate with anyone. The candidates, all so hopeful and optimistic. How could they be so happy? He couldn't understand it. And the Weyrlings... no. Every weyrling dragon he saw brought up the image of his beautiful green, his lovely Lenarth, and she stayed burned into his eyes as an after-image long after he'd looked away. No. He couldn't bring himself to associate with any of them. They reminded him to much of what he had had, and what he had lost.

Shino sighed in relief and nodded to Akki. "Well, at least I'm not hopelessly lost... That would have been my second choice if I wasn't a tad off... That would have been a disaster." He replied as he blinked, looking around at the group. He moved a strand of his hair out of his eyes, seeing if he had missed something. As he looked around, he realized that there was a young man sitting off on his own.
"It's good to know that you have some sort of humor. That is, even though it is quite dry." He commented on Akki's final statement as he brought up a slightly exasperated expression. He looked into his bag, pulling out his gloves and pulling them on silently. He repositioned the tight-fitting bandages on his upper left arm, making sure it wasn't showing. He knew it would embarrass him if it were revealed.

The boy had not been expecting Akki to say what she had, rather he hadn't been prepared for it. He knew that Akki hadn't meant to intentionally hurt him, she was just teasing with every one, but still he felt like he was going to be sick as of now (his stomach turning over and over). Had he really daydreamed there having danced? Probably, and now he was dragging fantasy over in to reality. How embarrassing! R'xis swiped his cheek with the back of his hand, waiting for Akki to finish speaking to Rhiyo. He refused to make eye contact with any one, picking a spot on the ground. When she left and was freed from his physical contact he exhaled loudly. He watched her interact with Rhiyo, an unfamiliar feeling building up in the pit of his stomach when she asked the boy if he wanted a hug. He looked skyward, watching the clouds roll by before he dropped his head again to look at the dirt ground. When Hasima replied he cleared his throat, giving a slight nod to say that he had heard her reply. He kept his palms flat on his pants, far too sensitive these days. How fast were these Weyrling Lessons going to go? It was a great experience but still... Oh you know, just taking a walk. R'xis needed a break and these days I have to keep him on a short leash. What has brought you and your's, and Akki out here? Ersith was glad to be talking to Rimith. It was her chance to broaden out. "You really can't recall what a Candidate is?" R'xis asked Rhiyo, feeling bad for the boy. "Its some one who's to stand at a hatching for impression, of a dragon of course". R'xis attempted to push his bangs out of his eyes but failed. They just fell back in place since his head was in a position where they couldn't sit back. "I'll gladly help you out in whatever way I can". It really did look like R'xis was talking to a speck of dirt, or even a blade of grass. You might want to let Rhiyo know your talking to him by making eye contact. I'm pretty sure the grass doesn't need any help from you-its growing fine on its own. Ersith's eyes flashed when she looked over to her Rider. His mood was just up and down like a roller coaster, what a silly boy. She went over to his side, standing by him. Thanks for the insight Ersith, he replied, offering her a half-smile. He was surprised to hear that the newest boy, Shino, didn't know where Dark Moon Weyr was either. My, my, Akki was right; he would be able to be incredibly useful here.
R'xis started letting his head float back to the old days, which were anything but pleasant. He wanted to go and sit by the water to clear his head, but he didn't want to seem rude to any one around here. Especially since Rhiyo needed help-of course Akki could very well help him. He felt the same feeling arise again-jealousy was it? No, of course not, he'd never experienced jealousy in the past. Why now? Of all the silly things... And with that thought he nodded to each person present. "I'm just going to go over yonder and enjoy the sight of the lake". He smiled gently to hide the fact that anything was wrong. "Please, if you'll excuse me". He turned about face and walked to the waters edge where he proceeded to sit down. He didn't even see the other male Candidate a little ways off.
Ersith didn't follow him, knowing that what was on his mind now was not something she could help him get over, he'd have to do that himself. She remained close to the yellow dragonet. R'xis reached down, sticking his finger in the water-watching ripples form. When Wolf had left things had been anything but easy for him, his father had made him do all the labor around there small abode and he hadn't had near as much time as he used to as a boy to race down to the beach side. He had been his father's own personal slave, and death threats are what made him surer then ever to come looking for his sister. When he really stopped to think about it things were going so well. He was so thankful for the friends that he had, he'd never in a million years take them for granted. He stared down at his feet. A gentle breeze went past his body and ruffled his hair. Ersith had done so much, and yet he felt as if he didn't express his love for her enough-though he did. He was so grateful to have the little abomination. She was growing up so fast, and so was he. He was a typical boy, unable to focus or concentrate because of a member of the opposite gender. He rubbed his eyes, staring out across the water. He attempted to maintain some kind-of calm state but just couldn't seem to.
He recounted the night when Ebbeth and the Golden Queen Kaith had been talking to him; the night of the Hatching feast. He had been so stubborn even then, telling them that he couldn't be happy with out this one thing that he wanted, or one person rather. Either way the whole situation had only resulted in his having to deal with it. He had done a pretty good job so far. He had not only managed to occupy himself with other thoughts some days but he had also been extremely focused on the Weyrling Lessons. He looked up to the sky, imaging the time when Ersith and him would be airborne. It would be one of the greatest moments of his life.

Akki pulled a face at Shino's comment, almost like a fish lips face, as she waved her hand up and down in a 'Shooing' motion. "Hey now, someone has to lighten up this confusing and dark mood, now don't they?" She said a grin, and adding a wink on as she said, "Besides, humor is humor right?". She fell silent for a moment, watching as Shino adjusted something on his arm. She blinked, and commented, "Nice gloves.". A faint thumping sound reached her eyes, causing her to look up into the sky as it got louder and louder. In the distance she could see a blue blob, drawing closer with every flap of his wings. "Hup. Here we go." She said, shading her eyes with one hand as she peered at her blue.
Of course his rider had caught his attention when she mentioned that there were peculiar things going on, how could he not rouse himself and swing by the lake? Curiosity had gotten the best of him. He declined, spiraling slowly toward the lake and descending right into it, causing ripples of water appear on the lakes surface. He slipped under the water for a moment, allowing it to fully waken him before popping his head up. Now, he was originally going to go see Akki and find out all the juicy details of what was going down, but something caught his attention. Well, someone to be exact. Someone had isolated themselves away from the others, sitting on the sandy beach and they had caught Ebbeth's attention. The dragon swam a bit closer and lazily looked at the boy with a swirling green eye and said to him, What's this? Sitting all alone when there's a decent sized crowed nearby?
Rimith grinned at Ersith's short leash comment. We were just taking a walk. Akki and I had agreed that Hasima should be outside for this weather. We didn't expect to find this many people though. Rimith was glad to be talking to Ersith, in the yellows opinion it seemed like she hadn't done too much conversing with all the other dragons, which was really quite a shame. Now Akki was too dense to catch on to the fact that R'xis had a fit of, what was it, jealousy perhaps? But Hasima had caught the boys reaction in the corner of her eye, and thoughts were slowly whirring in her head about it. The blue rider turned to R'xis just in time to see him walking away, and she made grabby-hand motions. "No wait, R'xis, come back." The girl whined, "We're going to need help to crack this code!". She stuck her tongue out at the boys back, not too caught up in the fact that he might see it or not.
She rubbed her hands together, "Fine then, let's give this a shot or we'll drag that kid back here to help us out."

Aneres flinched when Ebbeth's voice entered his mind. He closed his eyes tightly, and his whole being gave off the impression that it would like nothing more than to curl up in the fetal position and die. "I'd rather not talk to them..." He muttered, fighting down the various reactions his body and mind tried to unleash all at once. he swallowed hard at the lump in his throat, forcing down his rising gorge. "Go away please..." He said, his voice almost as sob ad he turned away from the blue, tucking his knees into his chest and folding his arms across his knees, resting his head on his crossed forearms.
