Layden spoke to both Akki and Rhia; “Well at least we know that things work when we have done them over and over again. No need to change or try to fix something that’s been working for Turns. Sometimes, yes, there may be need for change but nothing drastic I shouldn’t think.” Though Akki had said she didn’t mean offense he couldn’t help it that it did offend him slightly. She was criticizing the way his Weyr ran things, why had he been searched here anyway? “And I’m not saying Drills don’t help I’m sure they do, they have been doing them for Turns like you said Rhia, but they’re not the same as Threadfall. You may be the best in the Drills getting everything right but in Threadfall…” the boy trailed off, what he had been about to say was a topic that you definitely did not want to speak of. He glanced down at the ground and kicked at it with his wherhide boot. He made a face when Rhia mentioned chores, though he was looking forward to seeing more of the Weyr. Layden looked up at Akki with a scowl on his face when he heard her snorting while trying to contain her laughter. “I understand the importance of drills,” he reiterated, “And I hope not to lose a friend,” he replied. Though with the way things were going it looked as if he would not have any friends to lose. ((Please forgive the lateness ^#^ I'll be more active now... later today I get my wisdom teeth out so I'll probably be around the computer alot the days after And then I'll get my laptop for college so even though I'm going to the beach early August I should be able to get on))

Akki waved her hand in front of herself, as if signalling for the boy to calm down. "Don't get all defensive. All I was saying is that sometimes it's nice to have a drastic change, it changes your views on things. It can improve things for the better. Besides, sometimes things just need changes whether they work out or not. Life's boring otherwise.". Content with what she said, even though she knew she was going to recieve a retort of some kind, she folded her arms across her chest and surveyed Layden, as if inspecting what made him offensive before shrugging to herself.
"Then do the drills." She replied simply. She didn't understand this boy. He said that the drills and Threadfall were completely different, and that the drills don't compare. If there were on drills, and someone went into fight Thread with no training, did they really expect to survive? Sure, Thread and the drills were very different but it was better than absolutely no training at all. She tapped her fingers, drumming them along her arm before saying with a small grin, showing that she didn't mean this as an insult, "You're very stubborn. You know that right?"

Layden sighed and ran a hand over his cropped blond hair. It did not seem like he was going to be able to explain himself to Akki or Rhia. Maybe it would be better just to shut his mouth now? Nope. “Listen I like the way things run traditionally,” he sighed again, “Though I suppose I could hang around here and see what changes this weyr has.”
“And I always was going to do the drills,” he told Akki. “And yes I’ve been told that I was stubborn several times before,” he said frowning. He shoved his hands in his pocket, “I thought you said you were going to show us around the weyr?” The boy really wanted to know more about the weyr and to be able to seek out the best places to hide.
((I've seen shorter XD Forgive me if something is confusing... pain medicine making me sleepy ^#^))
