He hadn’t been at the Weyr for even a full day before Riler found himself huddled on his cot in the Candidates barracks. When he landed in the Weyr, he was fascinated with the comings and goings of the dragonriders. However, he was soon swept away from the sight, taken to the barracks, where he was told to unpack his items. Obediently he obliged, quickly placing his items in a small chest at the foot of his cot. After he has finished this, he found himself alone in the Candidates barracks, lying on the cot, staring at the ceiling. With nothing else to do, he lazily clambered onto his cot, bored. His fingers rolled over the bedding beneath him as he listened to the dull sounds emanating from the nearby wash room. He sighed, blowing a few strands of hair out of his face, closing his eyes as he listened to the monotonous sounds of the scrubbing of pots, pans and dishes.

Ooc|| xD So true. Now to think up an excuse as to why my characters are there in the first place x) D: Sorry for the long post. I just kept rambling on and on about why they were there xD
"Oi! I remember this part. This is where I was all anti-social at first because I didn't know anyone. That didn't last long though. And then we were just here a bit ago weren't we? With J'kel and the others, right?". The blue riders booming voice filled the silent barracks as she rambled on and on. She was talking about what had happened at the candidate barracks that she remembered, which made it seem like it was ages and ages ago that she was first here. But it wasn't really, only a few turns.
She had decided earlier today that it was going to be a boring day, and that she should go visit some of the places of the Weyr that she hadn't gone too for a long time. This was the second stop on her list, the candidate barracks. Of course she also decided she couldn't go alone, that wouldn't be any fun at all. Akki always needed a partner in crime with her. She would have asked Ebbeth to join her, but the blue was far too big now which was okay with him for he was content with sitting out near the lake, enjoying the warm weather.
She had chosen Hasima to join her, for the rider decided that the girl had stayed cooped up with Rimith long enough. So she went to the Weyrling Barracks, wrapped an arm around Hasima and dragged the girl along. And of course Hasima was too polite to say that she rather stay at the barracks, but now she was glad she had come. She was having a rather nice time even though Akki was the one who was mostly talking.
Hasima nodded and mumbled a quit, "Yes, it was with them." as she look down at the ground, watching her shuffling feet and the small pale yellow dragonet happily trotting beside them. She didn't really know what to say other than that, she had a hard time remembering what had happened that day to her horrid memory. All she remembered was that J'kel was there along with some others. "Do you think anyone would mind if we peeked into some of the actual rooms? I don't think there's anyone here, do you?" Akki said innocently as she pointed to a room coming up. She really didn't know if there were candidates or not here, for she hadn't met anyone yet.
"I haven't seen anyone that was a candidate." Hasima offered helpfully, which Rimith crooned loudly too, agreeing with her rider. "Let's go then." Akki declared with a large smile at Hasima and the mutant dragon. They came up to the room, and Akki peered into it, followed by Hasima and then Rimith's head. In the room there was someone though, a boy that was sitting on a cot with his eyes closed.
"Whoops. I was wrong. There is somebody." Akki said with a sheepish grin.

Riler tilted his head to the side a bit at the sound of voices, lifting an eyelid to view the entering persons. He was somewhat startled by the appearance of the two dragonriders and the yellow head of a dragonet peering beyond the door. He jolted upwards, aware that he was being watched now; both of his eyes opening widely before quickly resuming their normal stature. Riler had been taught to respect all dragonriders with the utmost respect and admiration, and this quality was still shining through. So, he felt rather intimidated and nervous by their presence. He said, trying to keep his voice steady, “Only me, there’s no one else here.” He lifted his legs and let them drape over the edge of the cot so they rested on the floor. “I don’t mind if you enter.” Truth be told, he would have enjoyed talking with someone. He was quite bored, and rather lonely; he thought that talking to someone might make him feel more at home, more cheerful.

Ooc|| D: Let us fetch it some stilts? Or I shall sit on mine so it flattens down.
"You wouldn't?" Akki asked, tilting her head to the side before letting a giant crooked grin take place on her face. "Great!" She said, only somehow she managed to drag it out into two syllables, making it sound like a 'Ger-ate!'. Now knowing that it was okay to enter, and she wouldn't creep the boy out too badly, she placed her hands on Hasima's back and steered her into the room.
"You're here all by yourself then?" Akki asked, peering around the room as if she was half expecting people to jump out from nowhere and join them. Hasima followed the blue riders gaze, but she was thinking something more along the lines of 'It must be very lonely here with no one else.'. "Oh right." Akki said, her eyes widening something as if she was forgetting something important.
Which she was. "I'm Akki, rider of blue Ebbeth." She said, sticking out a hand towards the boy as she introduced herself with a grin. "I'm Hasima." The girl said quietly, before adding, "Weyrling rider of yellow..." She would have continued, but she paused letting Rimith introduce herself, which the yellow happily did. Rimith. Pleased to meet you The mutation crooned sweetly with all honesty. The dragonet was always pleased to meet new people.

He was intrigued by the rider’s enthusiasm. His eyes followed the two dragonriders, spotting the yellow dragonet out of the corner of his eye. Stuttering, he responded to the rider’s question. “Y-yeah, I’m here alone. I just got here a few hours ago, so I haven’t really had the time to explore the Weyr.” In truth, it wasn’t that he didn’t have the time. Clearly, shown by him just resting in the room, he had the time to explore; it was mainly out of anxiety.
He took hold of the rider’s hand, grasping it firmly. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Akki, rider of Ebbeth.” When he heard the voice in his head, he was startled, whirling his head so his gaze was fixated on the small dragonet. She was crooning, and Riler couldn’t help but gape in admiration of the creature. When he realized that he was staring, he jerked his head towards the dragonet’s rider, saying, “And it’s a pleasure to meet you, too, Hasima, weyrling rider of Rimith.” When he realized that he hadn’t stated his own name, he quickly added, “My name is Riler.” His face perked up, a smile forming on his lips.

"Oh? So you don't really know people here then, right?" Akki asked with honest innocence before letting out a gasp. "Does this mean we're the first people you've met? Because that'd be pretty cool. I could say I was an influence on your life." She said contently, nodding away. I don't think people want your influences any where near them Ebbeth chortled for everyone to hear.
Hasima smiled smally at the boy, her shyness obviously kicking in. "Nice to meet you." She said softly but with all honesty. "Yeah. What she said. About it being nice to meet you Riler." Akki chirped happily, looking all around the room as if she was doing some kind of inspection. Rimith, noticing that she was being looked at made an almost purring sound and her eyes whirled with content as she begin to explore the room, only to stop at the boys feet and peer up at him curiously.

He nodded slowly as she talked, waiting politely for her to finish, mouth twitching into a grin at the humor. “You two are the first that I’ve met here at the Weyr; well, obviously except the rider who brought me here.” His voice quieted for a moment, realizing that that didn’t need to be said; it was an obvious statement.
His face glided from Akki’s to Hasima’s as she spoke. He returned her smile, and quickly whirled his stare back to Akki’s as she began to speak again, listening to her build upon the previous statement. He quieted, letting his hands fall on the cot behind him and falling back on them so they were supporting him upright. After a few moments, he heard a rustling next to his legs. His eyes were drawn to Rimith sitting next to his feet, looking up at him. He stared back at the being, watching her with curious interest, wondering what the proper etiquette was in this situation. Not knowing what he should do, if he should do anything at all, he simply watched her, hoping that he didn’t do anything stupid.
Ooc|| One day I'll open a 'WE CAN FIXXIT' shop. And just duct tape everything together. And then demand to be paid tons of money
Akki nodded, "Makes sense. I wonder who it was.". With that thought, her mind went offm thinking of all the people possible that could have brought the boy to Dark Moon before giving up with a simple shrug. There were too many people to think of. Hasima, feeling slightly uncomfortable at the awkward silence looked around the room, hoping that she looked busy and not awkward at all. Akki on the other hand, was completely oblivious to the odd situation.
"Where did you come from?" Akki asked curiously, and Hasima was rather glad for the girl was wondering the same thing but didn't want to ask in case it seemed like she was prying into the boys life. Akki didn't even think that she might be prying however, she was just genuinely curious. She liked hearing about people's pasts, and who knew. Maybe one day she would find someone that went to the Hold she was raised at.
"Rimith. You shouldn't stare." Hasima said with a blink as she looked down at the yellow who was staring unabashedly at the boy. Rimith cherped quietly and apologized before stumbling away to look underneath the cots, wondering if there was things left underneath them.

When Akki began talking, Riler lifted his head back up to attention. He wasn’t even that sure of who had brought him to the Weyr, now that the thought had crossed his mind. He wasn’t keen when it came to remembering names, so if the rider had mentioned his name, he could not recall it. “I’m not sure who the rider was,” he said. He didn’t think it mattered that much, but then again, it couldn’t hurt to know. He could investigate that later, he guessed. Maybe the rider would come to check up on him, even, though he didn’t have his hopes up for it.
At being asked about he home, he was glad to give up the information. “I was born in Galsden Hold, a small farming community, though my father wasn’t a farmer. He was a cobbler.” He didn’t mind offering up information on his home, why should he? He had nothing to hide, no shame of his heritage.
When Hasima interjected her voice to her dragonet, Riler couldn’t help but feel somewhat responsible by looking back at Rimith, but he kept this to himself. He knew it would sound stupid to them, and the last thing he needed was a reason for people to mock him. He watched as the little beast stalked off under the cots, switching his stare from the dragonet back to the two riders before him.

"Ah, I guess it isn't that imporant if you wind up meeting them again in the end." She said with a shrug, though she was slightly curious as to who it was. But she couldn't say much, she never knew who gave her the ride to Dark Moon, she was too busy being nervous about the fact she didn't know anyone there.
Akki flopped down to the ground, sitting cross-legged. "Galsden Hold, huh? I don't I've ever heard of it before." The blue rider admitted. "Was it fun watching people farm things? I don't think I've ever really seen a farming community. Was it nice?" Akki asked, not afraid of asking so many questions at once.
Hasima also sat down on the ground and said, this time it being a bit louder than a whisper, "I've heard of it. People talked about it at Ista a few times, someone mentioned something about wanting to go there to farm.". She couldn't remember who it was that wanted to go there, she just remembered that her parents were talking about it and saying that that would be nice, to go to a small Hold instead of having to live in a larger one.

Layden dropped down easily from the back of the blue dragon that had brought him to Dark Moon Weyr. As he thought of how he’d impress his own dragon soon, a bronze of course, a cocky smile crept across his face.
The blue rider glanced down at Layden and asked, “Do you need me to show you the way to the candidate’s barracks?”
Layden looked the man in the eyes and replied cooly, “I can find the way my self thank you very much. Could you hand me my bag?”
The bag was soon tossed down to Layden without the bluerider saying another word. Not much was in the bag just a couple of spare clothes and other necessities, which he had merely balled up and shoved in the sack.
Layden stepped back from the blue dragon as he crouched down to leap into the air, wings pumping to get the dragon and rider airborne. The boy put a hand over his eyes to shield them from the sun as he watched the blue dragon set off. Pretty soon the dragon was high enough to go between and within moments it vanished. Layden looked around the weyr bowl before pulling the sack over his shoulder and setting out to look for the candidate’s barracks.
((Sorry for the crappy post and run... I wanted to bring Layden in... but not in for it'd be annoying to have him enter the barracks and me have to go so he shall remain in the weyrbowl for now. I shall bring him to the candidates barracks later or (more likely) tomorrow. Sorry again ^#^))
((OOC: Yay for discounts! =D I’m going to hold you to it. << ))
He wasn’t really surprised that Akki hadn’t heard of it, so he brought this to her attention. “It’s a small hold, nothing much really going on there.” At her question of whether or not he enjoyed watching the farmers, he responded with, “At first when I was young, yeah. But it grew boring really fast, so I grew out of watching them. Instead, my friends and I would just hang out together, roaming the nearby surroundings.” He thought about all of the times he’d set up a fire with his friends under the moonlight. They’d sing and dance around the flame, laughing and cheering with each other. He smiled at the pleasant thoughts.
Then again, he also wasn’t surprised that Hasima had heard of it. They did export a number of goods to Ista, so it was quite possible that a few traders there kept ties to residents of Ista Hold. Though, Riler couldn’t fathom a reason for wanting to go live in the Hold. All of the youths in that hold, him included, dreamed about leaving, though he knew that most did not leave. Maybe it was something all young adults did; either way, he knew that he wanted to leave, and was one of the lucky few to make it out of there.

After wandering about the weyr for some while, Layden eventually found his way to the candidate’s barracks. About time too for his bad leg was getting a little sore, that jump off the dragon probably wasn’t a good idea since he didn’t know exactly how high off the ground he was. When he got to the door he noticed it was slightly open and heard voices coming from the room. He pushed the door the rest of the way open with his foot and poked his head into the room, gray eyes searching for the owners of the voices.
"Hm. I guess I could see how it could get boring. But I think I'd like to spend a turn watching them farm. It'd be interesting to see." Akki said with a nod as she imagined sitting on a hill, watching people farm and grow things below her. Except then she'd probably fall down the hill, and ruin someone's crops. And then get banned. Which wasn't a very pleasant thought at all.
Both Hasima and Akki looked towards the door as it opened. Hasima merely turned her head and stared with a blank face, but Akki twisted her back into an arch so she could see behind her without having to move from her sitting down position. But now she resemble a very off bridge. "Oh. Hullo." She said pleasantly as her eyes came across the boy that stood at the doorway. Rimith turned her yellow wedge-shaped head and stared at the newcomer with whirling eyes.

Riler remained silent, somewhat amused by her curiosity of simply farming. He surmised that she merely felt this way because she had never really had the opportunity to witness people farm before. He realized that since he grew up in the farming hold, he grew up unappreciative of it. He gave a small smile at this thought.
At the sound of another person entering the room, his eyes darted to the doorway. He watched the newcomer enter with curious interest, giving him a friendly nod, and mumbling a small, “Hello.”

“Hi there.” Replied Layden glancing at the four staring at him, one a dragon. He gave the curiously colored dragon a strange look before turning his gaze to the three people. “This is the candidates barracks right, why is there a dragon in here?” he asked as he tossed his bag onto an empty cot and folding his arms across his chest awaiting an answer.
"Well, you see. It goes like this." Akki said, making it seem like she was about to tell some story that held all the secrets of Pern. "There would be another dragon in here, if the barracks were just a bit bigger. But they aren't. Hasima," At this point the blue rider nodded her head towards her friend, "And myself decided to go exploring, even though exploring is the wrong word since I've been here many times before. And of course we couldn't leave Hasima's dragonet, that's Rimith over there, behind so she happily joined us. That's when we came here, and met Riler here. We were talking and then you came in, asked why Rimith was here and I told this story.". Akki thought she had done a good job at explaining the days events, but she really didn't, she just filled him in on useless tidbits that he probably didn't care about. "I'm Akki by the way. Rider of blue Ebbeth.".
Hasima glanced at the boys face before modestly looking away again and said softly, "I'm Hasima. And that is my dragon, Rimith. Pleasure to meet you.". Though the girl was shy, and clearly soft spoken she did know her manners. Unlike a certain dragon rider in the room who could easily come off as either rude or too immature to be a rider at times.

Layden raised an eyebrow as Akki began her tale. “Well that was certainly and interesting story.” He said when she had finished speaking.
“Akki rider of blue Ebbeth” he smirked, “and Hasima rider of yellow Rimith” he muttered to himself, it helped him remember things if he repeated it to himself. He studied Hasima and her dragon for a moment before remembering that he had not introduced himself yet, it wouldn’t have been necessary in his old home, /everyone/ knew him there.
Layden cleared his throat before speaking, “I am Layden” he said this in such a way that it sounded as if he expected them to already know who he was. “My mother is junior weyrwoman of High Reaches Weyr,” he added proudly.
