L'von fidgeted a bit. "I don't really know anyone, and I'm bad in conversations. Maybe we should eat." The last words had a bit of a question on them as he checked C'adyn's reaction. If they avoided the other Candidates and the ranking riders, they would avoid questions about his family, and he wasn't exactly ready to admit to all the other weyrlings (who he didn't know) that he had basically run away and his family had no idea where he was.
Zalith piped up. It's not a big deal, you know, she said. You're not a hatchling anymore. You're allowed to do what you want.
Yes, but a lot of other people here have their family attending, and I don't. They might ask about that.
Zalith was quiet after that, though she nuzzled his hand supportively. Yes, she said privately to Hith. It did work out. Mine wouldn't want to be alone right now.

Verith agreed, and he, too, was feeling a bit sleepy, but he wasn't quite there yet, so he rested his head on Aylith's back and kept watch for them both.
V'koran raised his eyebrows at Jessa's words. "Me, my dear, laugh at you Admin's Note:[/hr] Are you forgetting how clumsy I am at dancing?" A thought suddenly came to him. "I suppose you don't, because I don't think we've ever danced." He shook his head. "A tragedy in its own right!"

J'kel noticed how upset Wolf sounded. Shockingly, he even noticed that her smile was all fake. "You know, you can go after your brother if you want." J'kel said. He hated when his friends were sad. Now Hasima was the only happy one left, but he didn't know where she was. Plus, if he did just go to her, he would feel guilty about leaving his sad friends later. He would stay with Wolf, unless she left. If she did, he would go check up on Akki. But all of this depressing mood was making him feel even more uncomfortable then he already felt.

Wolf shook her head back and forth, it clear that she had made up her mind. "It's okay, don't worry about J'kel. Some things he'll have to figure out for himself." She smiled at the boy, this time a real one. "Let's have some fun, shall we?" She looked around the room, her mind on food. Food sounds good to me, Serinth complained. "Alright, well, Serinth has voiced her opinion. She says food... What about you and Jorath?" Wolf looked from the blue dragonet to her friend, not wanting to inconvenience them. 'Wait, isn't there supposed to be dancing later on?' Wolf wondered, hoping that she could escape the feast before then. She didn't know how to dance and preferred not to embarrass herself with trying to learn how. We are not leaving when the dancing starts, you will try, Serinth told her authoritatively. Wolf looked to her, surprised by the way she was speaking. I suck though, Wolf complained. Learn, Serinth teased.

Akki frowned slightly, the feast had taken almost a gloomy feeling for some of the weyrlings. That wasn't right, it wasn't supposed to be gloomy, it was supposed to be joyous, a day that would never be forgotten. Finishing off the piece of food that was in her hand, she brushed off the crumbs that were on her dress. Now she had a mission to do, to change the atmosphere.
Looking around, looking above the heads of people and through the tiny spaces between the guests that were at the feast, Akki looked for a girl, a certain yellow rider. Spotting Hasima who was standing with Rimith, looking almost awkward as she looked down at the floor beneath her feet, Akki swerved and twisted her way through the crowds of people until she reached the girl.
Grabbing Hasima's hand, who looked up in mild surprise but smiled faintly as she saw who it was, Akki said, "Come on Hasima. I can't let you have a boring feast. Let's dance.". Hasima widened her eyes in alarm. Dance? Her? Not possible. Her feet were too big, she would trip over them, she was too clumsy, she'd run into someone. She couldn't dance. But as soon as the girl opened her mouth to protest, Akki shook her head and said, "Don't say it. Don't say you can't dance. Everyone can dance. They just need a nudge in the right direction.".
And with that said, the blue rider spun the yellow rider happily as a small yellow crooned excitedly as she watched her rider get swung almost gracefully. And as Akki showed Hasima where to place her feet, which made the quiet girl wonder exactly how Akki knew how to dance, Rimith tried also. However she only succeeded in tumbling over before giving up. Which was okay with her, she was content with watching.

"Food!" J'kel cheered with a bright smile. He grabbed Wolf's hand and pulled her toward the tables. He checked back to make sure the dragons were coming. He grabbed a meat roll, shoving it down his throat and looked around.
"Ooh, look!" J'kel pointed at Akki and Hasima, who were already dancing. "After we eat, we need to dance. I warn you I have never danced before, so I won't be throwing you up in the air, but it will still be fun." He said with a smile. Jorath wasn't really that hungry, after all, they had eaten tons earlier.

Wolf's body jolted forward as she was pulled along by J'kel. She too looked back to make sure that Serinth and Jorath had noticed there rider's were moving. As they reached the food table Wolf grinned, looking over the food in front of her. She grabbed a sweet bread in one hand and then a meatroll in the other. Wolf raised her left hand to her mouth, taking a bite of the sweet bread. After swallowing it down she washed it down with a bite of her meatroll. As J'kel talked of them dancing she nearly choked, coughing a few times. "I-I've never danced... either," she told him shyly. She looked down at her feet, soon looking to Serinth instead just so J'kel wouldn't catch on that she was nervous. Soon she had finished the meatroll, and the sweet bread followed. "The food here is so good," Wolf said, quickly licking her lips.
Serinth wasn't very hungry, to the dragonet's surprise. Serinth turned to look to where Akki and Hasima were dancing. They look good out there Mine, Serinth said, crooning happily. They do, don't they? Wolf became all the more nervous, not wanting to embarrass herself in front of her friend's and all these other people. You must try, if you don't try new things you'll never broaden your horizons and be able to expand the things you're good at. I wouldn't want that for you.

Akki twirled Hasima, the girls dress going up slightly as it swirled around her, giving the appearance that she was swimming in material. With each step, Akki had guided her and the yellow rider closer and closer to J'kel and Wolf. Looking at her two friends who were eating and talking, she grinned. "Will you two be joining us any time soon? We'll start to look like fools if we're the only ones dancing." Akki said with a grin as she happily dipped Hasima, who's eyes went wide in response.
As the girl straightened up, Akki spoke once more, "And also, I want to see you guys dance. It can't be a feast if you don't dance. That's a rule. Honest!". She twirled her and Hasima away from the table, careful not to hit it as she nudged Hasima's feet into place with every step making sure the girl didn't fall. Rimith settled down on the floor, watching as her rider was spun around, a small smile growing on her face with every passing second before she was grinning wildly and laughing along with the blue rider.
