G'han went to the lower caverns to get something to eat. After grabbing a plate and some klah he went to sit down. As he sat he looked across the table to see a dark form. I wonder if this is the infamous Dicer? He wondered to himself. He merely glanced at the boy and began eating. After washing a few bites down with some klah he said to him, "I guess you are this Dicer, the new candidate everyone is talking about?".
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dicer looked up and noticed G'han as he talked to him. "Yes that is me. And I know you are G'han. You are suppose to be some kind of hand to hand fighting expert", he replied back with a plain voice. He didn't bother even looking at G'han.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Well it seems you have the advantage of me, knowing who I am already. Yes I know a good bit about fighting you could say", he replied back. "It seems you know a thing or two about fighting yourself. I hear you got in a fight with a weyrling bluerider named K'dan", he continued.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I should have known it must be the talk of this small weyr now. I beat some weakling bluerider and it's big news to everyone", he said a bit agitated.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Yes word travels fast and stuff like that doesn't happen to often. As for K'dan being weak, he is just not the fighting type. He will when he has to but its the fact that he doesn't like to fight that holds him back from being the fighter he can be", he said. "Not to say you couldn't beat him if he didn't hold back though", he said, keeping a smirk from appearing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I don't care. He is still weak in my mind. I could beat him either way. I hear it was you that trained him how to fight though. Perhaps you aren't as good as others think you are", Dicer replied.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Perhaps so, but perhaps not. You know that could be considered a challenge", G'han said back.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Yes it could be considered that. I must admit I wouldn't mind seeing what you're capable of. Although knowing this weyr I would get more chores for it", he replied back.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Not if it is a sparring match. Consider it a lesson, I do that with D'ran, Miya and K'dan", he replied back. He must admit he wouldn't mind putting this candidate back in his place, he seemed to have gotten a big head about beating K'dan. A sparring match wouldn't hurt anything and once he won it would let him know that not everyone in the weyr was a push over and that some pushed back. "Although not today. Perhaps another day", he said. He really didn't feel like it today and he had duties to attend to and twins to take care of. Once he finished with his plate and klah he said to him, "I will be going now. I have things to attend to but good to meet you", he said and walked out.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Sounds good to me", Dicer said plainly. He watched as the bronzerider walked out but said nothing more to him. So that was G'han. He doesn't seem as tough as everyone makes him out to be. He took a sip of klah and placed it down on the table before him. The only reason he was nice to the bronzerider was because that's what he wanted. He enjoyed testing the waters so to speak and to Dicer, G'han was someone he wanted to test. He wanted to know just what he was capable of.
