T'rin strolled along the path to Dark Moon Weyr with a bounce in his step and his characteristic grin on his face. He was coming back! He'd been gone for the traditional eight sevendays to mourn the death of his foster mother, and stayed an extra few to find homes and parents for his now-twice-orphaned foster brothers and sisters. However, his task was done, and the mourning was over-- thank Faranth. He had never liked Brina, though he could never be really happy about someone's death. She had died rather young, he thought; only 58 Turns. She probably bit herself with her poisonous fangs, he thought with a snicker.
You should not think such thoughts, they are disrespectful, interjected Amparath, who had dropped T'rin off a mile out and was already back at the Weyr.
But it's true, T'rin protested.
I do not care. It is still disrespect of the dead. Amparath paused, then said mischievously, You can think those thoughts in another few sevendays. Besides, he added, his tone changing completely, you made me miss the queen's flight.
Look, I'm sorry, okay? But I couldn't be at the Weyr and you know it, so I had to bring you out to the hold or I would have been in a huge predicament. Besides, I don't want you to mate with the queen. We're still weyrlings, even though you can fly and between, because we missed too many lessons with this. Do you know how complicated that would be? Very, he said, answering his own question.
Alright, alright, Amparath said huffily, and withdrew from T'rin's mind.
Meanwhile, Micra had been flying alongside T'rin, doing loops and strange aerial maneuvers with her tiny green-- well, one could hardly say bulk. She finally began to get tired and landed delicately on her chosen's shoulder, wrapping her tail possessively around his neck. He stroked it while he walked, and she cooed and trilled happily. He finally neared the Weyr, and made his way inside. He stood in the Weyrbowl, happy to be home.

Tonu and Kalie were tugging at her shirt and chirping insanely. She had tried to get rid of them, but they wouldn't leave. They were so annoying, so she finally gave in and followed them, but she would never have been ready for what they were so excited about.
The green and brown flew ahead, and flew in circles around T'rin, hoping to play with Micra. Miya stopped a few feet away. She didn't move at all, and her face remained emotionless. Her eyes mearly stared forward and at T'rin. One would have thought she had been frozen solid if her stomach wasn't moving with her breathing.
Reinath sensed that something was going on. She flew over to where her mine was, her hide gleaming. She flew down when she saw a small bronzen hide. Who was it? She couldn't recognize him at first, then she did. Mine, it is Amparath and T'rin. The gold said excitedly.
I know. Miya replied simply.
Is something wrong Miyamine? Reinath questioned.
I don't know. Miya still didn't move.

T'rin was startled when two firelizards suddenly appeared and began swirling around him, but Micra only chirruped and took flight, romping with them in the air. The bronzerider was puzzled for a moment, then realized he recognized those two: they were Miya's! He looked around for the goldrider and saw her standing not far from where he was. He began to walk up to hug her, but she seemed... distant, so he stopped. Uncertain how to begin, he tried anyway. "Hi, um, it's been a while."

Miya nodded. "It has. I thought you left." She said simply.
((Ack. Lethally short.))

((That's okay, I'll make up for it.))
"Well, I did," T'rin explained, scratching the back of his head. "But it was only temporary. My foster mother died and at our hold, it's customary for the children to have an eight-sevenday period of mourning. Not that I really liked her, but I had to follow the rules. And I stayed a little longer to make sure my foster brothers and sisters had somewhere to go."
T'rin fidgeted with his tunic sleeve. What was wrong with Miya? She was usually short with people ((lol)) but this was unusual. Maybe she thought he wasn't coming back? It was true that he had told only the Weyrleaders in his haste... and that was his fault.
"But I'm back now, as is Amparath. He's mad at me right now, so he's sulking in our weyr." A moment passed, and suddenly he said, "I'm sorry I didn't tell you where I was going."

"Yeah, well you should have told me." She snapped, anger coming back. She just didn't know any more. Why did he have to just leave like that. She had thought he wasn't coming back. She had given up on thinking he was better than the other sharding people in the Weyr. She had...moved on. Someone else had come that had decency. Then again, something had been going on. The pictures that Tonu gave her. Maybe she shouldn't have forgotten T'rin. "Shells T'rin." Was all that she could say. She had never been so confused in her life.

Dicer lurked in the shadows, unseen by anyone. He perched himself nearby and was undetected as usual. The shadows seemed something to fit his dark persona. He looked at Miya below and the weyrling she called T'rin. He had heard about him, then again he overheard many things. People of the weyr tended to run at the mouth and that only worked to his advantage. He gave an intrigued look at the two, yes he heard something about Miya and this T'rin guy.

T'rin bowed his head. Now she was really angry with him. "Listen, Miya, I'm really sorry. It was so sudden and I was already several days late... all I was thinking about was getting over there, and that was selfish. But I couldn't just forget about my family, either; I had to go and help them. I hope we can still be... friends?" He knew that even that would take time, most likely. Miya didn't forgive easily.

Miya sighed. Friends? She had forgotten that she had kissed T'rin. She had forgotten her old feelings for him. Feelings that had changed for another. "I guess. But everything from before..." she mentioned that night, "it is no more." She said simply.
Tonu chirped and looked around. Kalie turned curiously to the brown. THey chirped at each other, as if sharing a conversation, then the two looked towards the shadows Decir lurked in. The two chatted more then glanced at Miya.
The goldrider recieved feelings of interest and worry. She looked around but saw nothing. What was their problem? Miya had enough to deal with.

Though T'rin had prepared for that, it still hurt. "That, uh... that's okay. I... wouldn't expect you to just... act like I didn't leave. It wouldn't be fair for me to demand that of you. I just want you to know that I'm here, if you change your mind. I still care." T'rin turned to leave, hardly noticing the racket the two firelizards were making. "I hope that we can talk again later." He began to walk back to his weyr, making his way across the wide weyrbowl.

Miya watched him walk awayAre you really just going to let him leave? He is hurt. Reinath pointed out.
You think I wasn't? It took a lot of courage for me to reveal my feeling about him, not only did I admit he was my friend but I admitted I liked him. I kissed him. Then he dissappears. You think I wasn't upset, hurt? I moved on, I found another. He will too. She sat flatly.
Tonu caught that /other/ kissing some stranger. Reinath said.
"Shards, leave me alone!" She shouted aloud. Miya sat down and put her hands to her head. What was she supposed to do? Tonu and Kalie went between when she shouted.

T'rin heard Miya shout and stopped. Should he turn around and go back?
Go back, said Amparath, who had been eavesdropping. She is upset, but I do not think at you. I think she is just confused.
But what if she doesn't want me there?
Go back anyway. Amparath was firm. I mean it. When T'rin didn't budge, Amparath appeared in the Bowl right next to him. I won't let you leave until you go back to her.
Frowning at his dragon, the bronzerider slowly turned around and walked back to Miya, sitting across from her and waiting for her to notice him.

Well that was interesting enough. He then looked to see him turn around and come back. Hm maybe things will get more interesting now. He watched the two of them, wondering what would happen next.

Miya looked up. She half expected it to be Decir, coming to tell her she was being weak for breaking down like that, or maybe K'dan telling her that she wasn't as strong as she claimed. No, it was T'rin and he wasn't saying anything. Just sitting, and waiting.
"Can I help you?" Miya asked emotionlessly. Her eyes were fixed in a glare and her lips pursed together.

"You were upset, so I came back. But I guess you're okay, and I'll leave now since it upsets you." T'rin shrugged and got up, turning once again to leave.

Miya sighed, she didn't know what to do. There was nothing rude in his voice, no hidden message or secret insult. But maybe that was what she wanted, in a way. She wanted to learn secrets that would help her do what she wanted. She knew it was selfish, and didn't really care.
Tonu sent her the image of Decir kissing that stranger. Miya clenched her fist. Was he trying to get her angry? Why would he send her that? She was positive it was the same image as before. That was something she did not forget easily. So why was he sending it to her?
It finally clicked. "Decir!" She knew he had to be here.

He gave a smirk as she seemed to know he was around, but she didn't know where. It would be impossible to see such a dark form in such dark shadows. But he wouldn't linger there long as he disapeared in an instant it seemed. He reappeared out of the lowercaverns which suprisingly was a distance aways from where he was hiding. He cleaned the corners of his lips with a piece of cloth and tucked it back under his cloak. He looked up at Miya as he heard her calling his name. "What do you want", he said to her and licked his lips. He kept walking though, right past her. He wouldn't wait for an answer.

He was waiting for Miya to say something as he walked, but T'rin heard nothing. He kept walking, determined to make it to the kitchens and back to his weyr without being visibly upset.
He was within thirty feet of Amparath when the bronze said, There is someone walkin towards us.
T'rin turned around, and sure enough, a boy looking to be around his age was walking towards them. The bronzerider realized he'd never seen this guy before in his life, so he turned around and kept walking towards his dragon.

"T'rin, come back. Decir, I am not a wherry-head. Though you refused to believe it before, firelizard can be useful. So, did you learn what you needed from listening in? Decir, this is T'rin. He is a bronzerider. The only one I respect." The last sentance was whispered. "T'rin, this is Decir. He was keeping himself entertained by listening in on our coversation."
It was then that Miya realized something. T'rin had left before she had started sending her flitts spying.

"Nice theory but I don't see how you could prove such a claim", he said to her plain as usual. He merely looked over the bronzerider and then said to her, "I would love to stay and talk...no wait I wouldn't". He continued on his way to his barracks. Such a claim couldn't be proven even if it were the truth. She hadn't seen him with her own eyes and the spot where he was wasn't found exactly. She had no evidence and no witnesses all she had were assumptions and besides that what made it even harder to prove was that he came out of the lower caverns, a good distance away from where he was and he had done so smoothly and unseen.
