G'han was near the candidate barracks walking by when he heard noises, furious ones. He stepped in and to his shock found Dicer holding a knife, Miya in the boy's candidate barracks and T'rin on the ground. He wondered, did Dicer perhaps stab T'rin. No a quick look at the blade showed no blood and he was in more of a defensive stance. He walked over to T'rin and helped him to his feet, whether conscious or not. "First what are two weyrlings doing in the candidate barracks? Secondly Miya what are you, a girl, doing in the boys side of the candidate's barracks. Thirdly Dicer why do you have your knife and positioned in a defensive stance", G'han said calmly. This looked to be a volitle situation.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dicer glared at her, "You were the one to start throwing fists. I wasn't even going to throw one until this dimglow came in and caught me off guard". He then looked at G'han. As if the situation couldn't get any worse G'han came in. If anyone wanted to fight they would be outclassed and at this point he knew all fighting would stop. He returned the blade seeing as how now he had no use for it. "These two wherry heads attacked me. First Miya then when i managed to pin her this dimglow came and attacked me off guard", he said in a scowl.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
G'han gave a sigh of relief when he put the blade away. He then looked at Miya and spoke. "I don't know what Dicer did to make you want to throw punches but its apparent he wasn't the first to attack. I didn't allow you to train with me just so you could throw a punch at anyone", he said to her. He could see the sheer anger in Dicer's eye. Infact he had a look of evil in him. "I think it is time we leave. There has been enough trouble already", he said to them. He would carry T'rin out and walk behind Miya when she would agree to leave.

"Don't go blaming all of this one me." Miya said angrily. "You are the one who was spying on me and T'rin, then you have the nerve to tell people false facts about my personal life, and you ignored me earlier when I asked you a serious question. I am in the boy's candidate barracks because that sharding wherryhead doesn't know his place. Besides, I was leaving before you came in, G'han." SHe explained furiously.

"And as I said, you have no claim to that accusation. It's an empty theory supported by no facts and as I recall you don't mind prying in other people's personal lifes yourself including mine", he spat at her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
G'han raised an eyebrow, there was more going on here than he wanted to know so he would just follow behind Miya as she left. "Good I think it is time you left Miya", he said sternly to her. He shooed her out and helped T'rin out as well.
Miya knew he was right. "I have proof of a few things that you have been up to. I am sure the Weyrwoman would like to know you are keeping a stranger in the Weyr. I am positive that that room is one of the old rooms of Darkmoon Weyr." Miya turned to G'han. "Where is the Weyrwoman? I would like to talk to her." She snapped.
Christae walked in, a shivering and cheeping Tonu and Kalie following her. Birinj, Christae's bronze flitted about trying to calm the frightened flitts. A tiny silvery green flitt also tried. Rhia followed her weyrwoman as she strode into the room. The brownrider was dressed to ride sweating in the heat.
"You want to talk to me, here I am. What on Pern is going on here?" Her brown eyes took in the mess. Her voice was cool.
~~~~~~~~~~
"Should I send Gylfie for the Weyrleader?" Rhia stared with wide grey eyes at the mess. She asked her weyrwoman. The silvery green flitt landed on the browrider's arm with a cheep.
~~~~~~~~~~
"No. I would rather handle this without worrying him. He is discussing Thread tactics with the High Reaches Weyrleader." She turned to the younger goldrider in front of her. "Why did your flitts come crying to Kaith about you and Dicer fighting and why is T'rin on the floor."
T'rin woke up, pretty much sore all over. He'd been hit so hard that he didn't remember being hit or hurting the candidate, so he was still ready to go over there. He got up, then realized that G'han, Rhia, and the Weyrwoman had magically appeared, and he decided not to touch the candidate. Rather wobbly, he asked, "What's going on? Why isn't someone doing something about him Admin's Note:[/hr]" He said the last word with malice.
"T'rin, stay out of this." Miya said simply.
T'rin grumbled, but ultimately stayed quiet. What was going on here? This guy had a knife and had been threatening Miya with it. Shouldn't that be enough to at least get him off the Sands? What kind of dragon-rider pair would occur if he stood? Disaster, T'rin concluded. He seemed arrogant enough to be the sterotypical bronzerider, but he was violent and probably had no real qualms about killing someone. Sure, T'rin himself had been about to put a hand on this guy, but he didn't enjoy it and he didn't do it often: he did it when he thought it was necessary.
Now this guy was just standing there, looking smug, as if he knew he couldn't be incriminated. T'rin smoldered, angered more each second by his sheer confidence he wouldn't get in trouble. T'rin knew he might get in trouble, from being in the candidate barracks. But he was willing to accept that.
((Remember, T'rin doesn't remember hitting Dicer))
Christae closed her eyes briefly. Of all the times for fights to be breaking out in her weyr, this was not the right time. Her people should be focusing on marshaling their strengths for the upcoming Threadfall, not brawling with each other. She opened her eyes again as Miya spoke.
"From the looks of this, Dicer is involved. Birinj, summon him." The bronze firelizard vanished. "Miya, I am disappointed to see you here before me so soon after your last incident." Her voice was calm even though she wanted to rage at her Junior Weyrwoman.
"T'rin, I am glad to see that you have returned home. However, I do not approve of helping to cause chaos on your first day back. I am still waiting to hear what happened." Her keen eyes took in the rumpled look of the gold and bronzeriders as she waited for the Candidate to make his appearance.
"From the looks of things, you were fighting yet again. I will not allow this to happen in my weyr. From now on, no one is allowed to participate in hand-to-hand combat and no one is allowed to carry weapons. You are only allowed to have dull belt knives. I will have Kaith make that announcement once I am finished here. If I catch anyone breaking that rule you will be severely punished. G'han, I am disappointed in you. You taught these young people how to fight but you did not teach them self restraint. I have learned of more than one incident where your pupils have started or participated in brawls. I have even had reports of you brawling with the Candidate Dicer. I will not stand for this. Dicer will be sent home and you will be stripped of your rank.
"Miya, there had better be a good explanation of this or you will be stripped of your rank as well. Believe me, I can. The position of Jr. WW has been left open before without any problems. I will simply wait until another Queen is clutched and train that rider to be Jr. WW. You will simply be a queenrider. I don't want to have to do that but you and Dicer seem to keep getting into trouble. T'rin, if I find you have had a hand in this, you will also be punished."
Miya's mouth opened wide. What had she done? Reinath had warned her, if only she had listened sooner. Her rank was all she had, and she was determined to keep it. "T'rin and I were...talking when he got back." Miya wouldn't go into detail what they were talking about. "Then Tonu and Kalie got all excited and Tonu kept sending images of Decir to me. My flitts were right next to me, I have T'rin as my witness, so I assumed he had to be near by. My fire-lizards are well trained, the do not act like that for no reason at all. So I know that Decir was spying on us. I simply shouted out his name and he heard me, so he had to have been near by.
I asked him what he was doing and he started claiming false accusations about how I feel and who I am passionate about. I tried to talk to him but he ignored me and came into the barracks. I followed him to talk, so that he didn't start spreading false rumors. He continued to say things that weren't true and told me that I was breaking the rules by standing there and talking to him. That is how it started." Miya kept her face calm but she was really worried. She didn't want to be stripped of the only thing she had, beside Reinath.
"As for me, Weyrwoman," said T'rin, feeling more stable now, "I was told by Amparath that this Dicer character was hurting Miya. I came in here not only to protect our Jr. WW, but my friend. My motives were not to cause trouble, only to get him off of her, which I did. As I remember now, he got angry after I threw him off of her and into the cot, and hit me at the base of the neck... which could have killed me. I know I shouldn't have acted so rashly, but he had her in a hold and was hurting her." T'rin finished his story, bowing his head. "I'm sorry to have caused trouble so soon."
Christae listened to the story, her face impassive. ~Kaith, is she telling the truth?~ Kaith turned her attention to her daughter. Is your rider telling the truth? It will be worse for you if you lie and I will now if you do lie. Kaith bore down with all the power of a Senior Queen of the Weyr, and waited for an answer. She also pressed Amparath to see if his rider spoke the truth as well.
Amparath replied with no uncertainty in his voice. My rider wanted only to protect Miya and get the boy off of her, nothing more. He believes harming a woman is wrong, and is telling the truth. T'rin nodded solemnly.
Dicer came before them and looked at them. He knew they wanted the truth and that is what he would give him. "I came out of the lower caverns when i heard Miya shouting my name. I simply said what do you want and kept going to my barracks. She accused me of spying on her which i said she could not prove such a theory. She said maybe not but she could prove something else. She seemed to want to threaten and blackmail me so I replied with something i thought would shut her up and leave me alone. I headed for my barracks and she wanted to continue this. She said one of her flitts caught me kissing some girl. I was not threatened by such an accusation as it is normal for a male to like and want to kiss a female. I replied oh so you want to take an interest in my personal life I wasn't going to mention that kiss you gave to T'rin. Then she went to hit me. I grabbed her fist and told her to get out once i let go. Did she do that, no. She gave a blow to the gut and the move I recognized was G'han's style of fighting. That changed the situation and I had to pin her so she couldn't hurt me. I told her to get out and I wouldn't release her until she said she would. instead she tried to pinch me to get me to let go, instead I bit her fingers so she would let go of my skin. Then this weyrling came and caught me off guard and tried beating the crap out of me. He kicked me, twisted my arm and flung me across the room into another cot. I got up and at that point I was too angry to think straight as he relentlessly had attacked me and caught me off guard. I incapasitated him and shouted at her to get out for the last time. If it comes to my life I will protect myself and I had two people wanting to fight me. So I took my knife out and positioned myself in a defensive stance as I yelled at them to get out", he spoke the truth.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I do teach them self restraint. Miya just doesn't listen and as to this brawl it was a sparring match", G'han said. He listened to Dicer tell his story. "To the last part I can attest to. When I came in the two were in the barracks and Dicer looked extrememly upset and had his knife out in a defensive stance. Once I came in he put the blade away. I guess he thought he was safe once anothers presence had entered the room" G'han said, confirming the last part.

Reinath couldn't help it. She wanted to protect her mine, but could not lie to her clutch-mother, or the Sr. Weyrwoman. Instead, she blocked her words from her mine and spoke. Well, they are both telling the truth from there on personal point of view. Miya and T'rin were talking. Then Tonu got really excited and kept on sending images of Decir. Miyamine assumed it was Decir so she called out his name. Decir came as expected but kept on walking. Miya assumed that he was ignoring her, even though he did reply, and she got angry. She followed him here and they talked some more. Miya got upset because Decir didn't seem to be paying to much attention because he was reading when she was talking. Miya was threatening him by saying he knew that he kissed someone, so Decir said he knew that she kissed T'rin. Miya got upset at that, walked over to him, and punched him. That was how it started. Miya felt that she was being ignored and dissrespected, so she got angry. Decir didn't seem to be paying much attention, but I think Mine did overreact a bit. Reinath explained.

Christae shot a disgusted look at her Jr. Weyrwoman and the Candidate. "You should all be ashamed of yourselves. From the look of things T'rin was the only one who had a valid excuse for his actions. He was impulsive, but at least he struck out of the worry for another's safety and not personal revenge. At any rate, T'rin I want you to report to the Headwoman for an extra hour of chores for not stopping to access the situation. You are a bronze rider and need to be alert to all possibilities. A wing might be looking to you one day and you cannot be so impulsive."
She turned to her dragon as she relayed Reinath's words. "Miya, you need to learn how to control your temper. You are still a Weyrling. Until you prove yourself to your weyr and its people you will still be considered a Weyrling, goldrider or not. You have made yourself very unpopular Miya and your position is suffering for it. Your dragon is suffering for it. There will come a day when she no longer listens to you because she has matured and you have remained a jealous, petty, and conniving creature. You are too impulsive. I have tried punishing you and none of that has worked. What must I do to get through to you?"
"Perhaps if I made you do my work for a day or so you might respect the gravity of the situation you are in. Your Queen is an important dragon in the weyr, but she is just as important as every other dragon and person in this weyr. You need to understand that each and every person, down to the scruffiest weyr brat has a purpose in this weyr. Maybe then you will learn how to respect and care for the people you might be called on to lead one day. What happens if Kaith and I are injured? Are you ready to step forward and lead until we are better? Or will you be selfish and ruin all the work Sh'iron and I have done to keep this place alive?"
"You will not be respected unless you earn it. I did not earn the respect and love of the weyrfolk by being impulsive and brash. I worked alongside them. I was not afraid to shovel dragon dung. I worked side by side with the Headwoman as she brewed numbweed. I gathered redwort and fellis. I hunted for my dragonet's meat. All of us did. Perhaps that is what we did wrong with you new riders. We let you live a sheltered and easy life where all you had to focus on was your lessons and your dragons. Perhaps we gave you too much leisure time. That will change. Miya, starting tomorrow you will report to me each morning at sunrise. It is time you learned how to be a weyrwoman. Until you prove to me that you are fit to bear the title of Jr. Weyrwoman, I hereby place you on probation. You will remain so until you prove to me and to the weyr that you are a suitable Jr. Weyrwoman. You will spend each day doing a different task. You will learn how hard it is to keep a weyr running. You will wash dishes, cook, clean, hunt and do every other task imaginable that goes on in the weyr. Maybe then you will respect the work others do."
She turned to G'han. "You did not teach them self-restraint. I understand that Miya is impulsive but she is not the only one who cannot control herself and glories in newfound physical prowress. I order that your training of these young people end. They are coached in hand-to-hand combat enough in their traditional lessons. They do not need to know more. Any further coaching will result in a demotion." Her eyes were steely. "I think you should spend more time getting your wing to trust you than to focus on your training. You don't need it. Renegades do not hide around every corner G'han. That was a mistake that all renegades learned from. Dragons protect their own. No more of this training nonsense. I have borne this long enough. You will report to Sh'iron to learn the new thread tactics to teach your wing. Each Wingleader and Wingsecond is required to do so. Several, including Rhia, have already done so."
Christae turned from the bronzerider, dismissing him. "Dicer. I have had nothing but trouble with you from the minute you stepped into this weyr. Give me one good reason why I should not send you home."

"It is you're people who have given me trouble. This is only the second time I have been in trouble and for the same reason as the first. Someone picked a fight with me. You don't expect me to defend myself?", he said plainly to the Weyrwoman.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"He does have a point. This is the second time he has been in trouble and it is because someone picked a fight with him", G'han validated what he said and reminded the Weyrwoman then left not giving her any chance to reply back. He knew she would probably try and snap back with something and he was in no mood.
