Nike sighed and looked up at K'dan.
"You know hat my father died when I was ten, and my mother while she gave birth to me, right?"
She asked him, then placed her blades back in their places.
"Well their parents, my mother, Alantia's parents, and my father, Bryth's parents are still alive. They went back to Southern Boll to find their children. Only to learn that they died, but had a daughter. Me. Well, my foster mother told them where I was, and…" Nike trailed off.
She had never met her grandparents, what would they be like?
And she had never told anyone this.

"Don't get me wrong but isn't that something to rejoice about? You will be meeting your family, find out more about your parents and your family's history. That is something some people will not have the oppurtunity to have. Look at G'han for example, as far as he knows his family is long gone. Others in this weyr have something similar happen to their family", K'dan said to her trying to comfort her. He began to gently rub his hand across Nike's then looked down and grew a bit red and realized his dress. "Err maybe I should put some clothes on first", he said to her. He put the pants he had back on but didn't bother with the shirt. It was still a bit painful to put that back on.

Nike nodded and sighed.
"I mean, how will they take to me? That is the only thing that I am worried about. And they are traveling all the way from Southern Boll to meet me. My foster mother sent the letter to me with Malenie, so they should be getting here soon,"
Nike looked at K'dan. When he sat back down, she took his hand and held it tightly.
"Will you be there when they come? I know that I will have Ruanth, Zim, and Crystal, but it would be nice to have some human support," She said licking her lips.
((Yeah, you can play a pair of NIke's grandparents if you wish.))

K'dan's eyes looked up to meet hers and he said to her without looking away, "Nike you are a good person and your family should be proud of you. You impressed the second white and first female white dragon of pern. You are a master healer and impressed two dragons. You're an HAD and amongst other things you are a caring, outgoing person and a great friend to have", he said to her then looked down at his hand as Nike squeezed it. "Do not worry I will be there for you......I always will", he said to her.

Nike had a look of awe on her face at K'dan's speech.
Once done, Nike swallowed and opened her mouth.
At first nothing came out, then her voice came to her. "Thank you, K'dan," She said.
Not even caring that Akki was there, the Healer leaned over and kissed K'dan on the cheek.

"Your welco........", K'dan was about to say but then was suprised by the kiss Nike gave him. He turned a bit red but quickly not wanting to shy away this time returned the kiss on the cheek with a kiss on Nike's cheek. He blinked a couple of times then turned a bit redder, but he had to do it. He couldn't shy away from her the rest of his life, perhaps he was starting to break out of this shell of his. Even his blue bonded was suprised by this act and was in udder shock of his bonded's actions. But soon he shook the initial shock off and was happy that his rider was finally starting to break out of his shell and grow a little backbone.

Akki rolled her eyes joyously, finally K'dan got a back bone! "I'll just leave now. Mostly because I'm now disturbed. If you want me I'll be wandering around aimlessly asking stupid things." Akki said with a grin and a quick wave of the hand, even though she had a feeling she wouldn't be wanted or missed. She ducked out of the room and headed back outside, feeling cramped with the walls surrounding her.

Nike smiled when K'dan returned the kiss. She had done it! She had got him to come out of his shell!
Pride, embarssment, and oddly, love, filled up inside her.
Ruanth crooned happily. I am proud of you, mine! The white said.
Green eyes turned to Akki, and a deep red bludh spread across Nike's cheeks.
A shy smiled was on her face at Akki's words. Once the blue rider left, Nike turned back to K'dan.
((I think Nike is too short of a name. How about she had a longer name that she didn't know about. Yeah.
Her mother named her something really long, but her father decied to call her Nike. -nods-
Now all I need is a name.))

K'dan looked over as Akki left not really knowing what to say. He looked over at Nike and looked into her eyes. His feelings for her were obvious but what about her, how did she truely feel about him? He held her hand gently looking down at it and soon returned his gaze from their hands to her eyes. Now what would he do? He would look at her and let her make her next move he guessed, this time he was determined not to shy away from her. (i am not good with names sry. Nikeanna? best i could come up with.....  ) |

Nike licked her lips and looked at K'dan. She followed his gaze, but then looked back up at him.
"K'dan," She said softly. "I know how you feel about me, and I…I feel the same way about you,"
The Healer said, looking down, away from the bluerider's gaze. A scarlet blush forming on her cheek bones.

When she said that he squeezed her hand once again slightly. He was overjoyed at this. They both felt the same way about each other. He could feel his body going warm and fuzzy. K'dan smiled and said, "Good, then we both got it out in the open then". As he looked at her he drew closer to her, what was stopping him now? She admitted the same feelings for him as he had for her. He leaned over and kissed her on the lips slightly and then pulled back to see her reaction. He hoped he just didn't blow something but he felt like it was the right thing to do at the moment. Well what do you know. They finally admitted how they felt about each other. It's about time. Hydrath said to Ruanth. He could feel the happiness and joy coming from his bonded, never had he felt so happy and pleased before. Sharan gave a happy chirp at his bonded and flew to Hydrath as if to say he was giving Nike and K'dan their time alone.
(ok i will, i was about to but got side tracked for awhile. That name sounds good.)

Nike nodded and smiled. She felt better. Oddly. It seemed that a band around her heart that had formed since Tirith's death lessened a little more. First with Crystal, then Ruanth, and now this. A larger smiled formed on her lips.
The haughtingness that was in her eyes, went away, and formed into the wild blaze that had always been there before her green's death.
A little surprised at K'dan's kiss, Nike recovered quickly. The white rider moved her free hand to the back of the bluerider's neck, and pulled his head closer to her own. Her lips pressed against his, and her other hand found its way up his bare chest.

K'dan looked at Nike as she put her hand on the back of his neck and drew him in. When their lips met he closed his eyes and kissed back. He put one hand on Nike's back and leaned back on the cot to where he was laying down and she was on top of him, he winced a bit as he leaned back. Soon his other hand was placed on the back of her neck. As they kissed, the hand that was on Nike's back gently carressed her.

Nike smiled as K'dan returned the kiss.
The hand on his chest carefully avoided his cuts and scrapes as her fingers carressed him.
She was slightly surprised as he leaned back, hoping that she would not hurt him. Not because of her weight. Nike really ddn't weight anything. It was his cuts and brusies that she was worried about. At his wince, Nike paused in the kiss, but contuined as he relaxed. Where K'dan caressed her back, it tingled in a wonderful way.
Ruanth gave a loving croon.
Yes! The have done it! Now Nike won't be nervous around him so much. And mabey she can get a Weyrmate. As Nike Heard this, the rule of no sex as a Weyrling came back to her.
Yes, they were close to gradutaing, and their dragons were truely able to handle sexual thoughts and actions that their rider's did, but Nike was worried.
This passed quickly as Ruanth forced her rider to relax and stay kissing K'dan.

K'dan gave a questioning look as Nike paused in the kiss but when she continued he let the thought leave his mind. He could feel a bit of pain as he laid down with Nike on top of him but he pushed it to the back of his mind and didn't allow it to interfere in the moment. Yes it seems so. They would make good weyrmates. Hydrath replied to Ruanth. K'dan gave a suprised look to his dragon's words but didn't let it bother him. They did love each other after all didnt they? So why not, but wouldn't that have to wait until after graduating weyrling classes and becoming a full rider. Oh well he didn't want to let such thoughts interfere with the wonderful moment he was having with Nike. His hand continued to caress her back and the hand on her neck pushed her closer to him if that was possible.

((Alright, don't you think someone should barge in on them? We know that they are going to kiss for a long time if we let them.))
Nike got a worried thought in her head. She hadn't locked the door to the infirmary, and anyone, Drudge, rider, weyrfolk, anyone could walk right in while they were kissing.
An amused smiled came into her eyes at this thought. She and K'dan must look kind of funny.
Laying down on the small cot, her laying on top of him, and kissing.
She felt his hand press harder at her neck, and her hand at his neck, did the same.

K'dan gave another wince at her hand pressing harder but gave a contented smile. He continued to kiss Nike through the pain and did his best to hide most of it.
