Amparath kept just ahead of Kylath in the water, focusing his whole mind on the race. He was careful not to create resistance in the water by letting his wings up too much. He wasn't tiring too much, luckily, and it wasn't too far to the other shore. He kept kicking rhythmically and kept an eye on Kylath, entirely alert and wary.
T'rin jerked his body, spinning away from Kia, gasping for air even though she'd barely touched him. He staggered backwards in the water, falling on his butt. He watched her carefully, even warier than his dragon. "Um, I'm a little touchy there, um, be careful."

Kia gave a toothy grin. She was also ticklish but if she showed no fear he wouldn't know. "No..." she said sarcastically.
Kylath sped up, seeing the end in sight. She grinned.

"I'm keeping my eye on you G'han, trust me."She said simply before turning her back on him as Ebbeth lowered his head and said [glow=blue,2,300]More threats that include binding people to rocks mine?[/glow] "Of course not! Sargon stuck my rope somewhere and he won't tell me where."She sid, crossing her arms in a mock pout. Ebbeth smiled to himself, he knew where the rope was, he told Sargon where it should go. He wasn't foolish enough to let Akki get hold of it again though.

K'dan soon awoke again. He looked up at Nike, "Sorry I fell asleep on you". He lifted his head up and sat up. He looked over at G'han walking to the shore and Akki and R'dan and all the others who were there doing various things. He had played around earlier but now he was a bit tired. "Today was a good, relaxing day. We need to come to the beach more often", he said to Nike. He looked over to Hydrath who was still asleep and nuzzled close to Ruanth and smiled. He stretched a bit and let out a big yawn. "I think I am awake now", he said with a smile.

D'ran grinned when K'dan finally woke. "I guess your not dead then, huh," he said jokingly. The harper listened closely to K'dan's words over the noise. "Once we start lessons we won't have too much free time. Especially not once P'renm arrives," D'ran said.
Aureth streached out and then slowly snapped into a small ball. He rolled a little closer to the other dragons. The dragon woke but did not open his eyes. Ruanth was probably warm with these two dragons as blankets. He yawned and soon fell back asleep but it was a light sleep.

Akki stirred restlessly, growing bored with every passing moment. She needed to be doing something, other wise it felt like she was wasting time and nothing was worse than that. Which Ebbeth was thinking, but with a bored Akki instead of wasting time. [glow=blue,2,300]Go have a race or something then[/glow] He said, quickly making something up on the spot. Akki looked at her blue as if this was an alien idea, something that had never occured to her before, but she quickly brightened and said, "We should have a race! And this time I won't choke on water!".

G'han turned around and brightened. A race was a good idea. He looked over to K'dan and D'ran. "You two come on. This will help with your training so lets go", he said to them.
K'dan looked at G'han. He was a bit tired and didn't really feel like it. He grumbled at G'han but G'han grabbed his arm and pulled him with him.
"Come on. Nike can watch you and cheer you on and you need to wake up anyway", he said to the weyrling. He looked back at Nike and smiled.
K'dan looked helplessly at Nike as G'han dragged him off. "Um I guess cheer for me then", he said.
"Ok Akki here's three people right here", G'han said as he stood with K'dan and D'ran, both whom he dragged into this race. This would be a perfect opportunity for them to work on their speed and endurance.

She surveyed her "competition", thinking that she was obviously going to lose. Here were three guys, who actually trained unlike her training, which was really yanking Sargon's tail from her neck and calling Ebbeth a useless piece of hide which he always had a snappy comeback too. "Shoot, I'm going to lose."She said to herself, stretching her arms in the air. [glow=blue,2,300]Positive outlook you have there my mine[/glow] Ebbeth commented caustically as he waited to survey the race. This should be interested, he thought with amusement. "Come on then Kia, leave T'rin alone and join us. You can flirt with him after."Akki said jokingly to her friend.

Amparath, recognizing that he and his opponent neared the end, put on a last stretch of speed that put him several good, long feet in front of Kylath. He grinned a dragonish grin, baring his teeth, as he prepared to win.
T'rin forgot all about his being ticklish when Akki urged Kia to join her and G'han and K'dan in a race. He rather resented his company being lured away, and Akki had made that comment about Kia flirting with him. Had she been? he wondered silently. The idea surprised him.

K'dan let out a yawn and fell on the ground when G'han released him. He looked up at Akki and then kind of backed up a little. He looked back at Nike then to her. "I don't know if I will do well in this race. I am already a bit worn from earlier", he said.
G'han looked at him, "Don't worry if anything it will work on your endurance and you won't get so worn so easily". He slapped K'dan on the back and he fell face first into the sand. He watched as the weyrling stood back up, spitting up sand and glaring at him. "Oops sorry", G'han said.
K'dan stopped glaring at G'han and looked over to T'rin. "Hey why don't you join us?", he asked his friend. He hoped he would, he was already forced into this so he might as well invite his other friends to join too.

"Worn? Ha! You were just sleeping K'dan, that's possibly the worst excuse I ahve ever heard!" Akki exclaimed, surveying K'dan with suspicion. Was he really worn out, or just wanting to spend time with Nike? She thought before shrugging it off. She looked at T'rin and said, "If you loathe to watch Kia leave you for a moment then you can join too.". She was just teasing him and Kia, finding it rather amusing since she said to R'dan they should try to set the two up, joking once more.

"Okay," T'rin said, glad for some company. He'd hated being alone these last few days-- well, he hadn't been alone completely, with Micra and then yesterday Amparath, but he hadn't had many people to spend time with, not knowing anyone, really. But now he had a whole bunch of people to race at swimming! He grinned, considering himself a fairly good, strong swimmer. He was oblivious to any comments made about him, rather distracted in his own little world.

"I was sleeping because I was worn out. That makes sense and is something wrong Akki. It looks like you are examining me", he said to her.
"And now you are rested from sleeping. Wake up and get ready", G'han said to him.
K'dan sighed, knowing he wasn't going to win the arguement. "Hey T'rin. I think you will win though don't think you can beat me easily", he said jokingly to his friend.

T'rin grinned and flexed his arm muscles. "You're right, I will beat you, but I'm sure there's plenty of fun to be had in the chase. It wouldn't be fun if it was easy." He made a show of stretching and doing some agility exercises. "Maybe I should hold back a little," he joked.

"Me? Examining you? Never, you're just being conceited and thinking everyone is staring at you."She said simply with a shrug of her shoulders, quickly making up an excuse that would do some justice. "That hurts K'dan, are you saying that you don't think I will win?"She asked in a mock pout before continuing, "Fine then, I don't think you will win then. T'rin, I hope you win so K'dan won't.".

K'dan smiled, "Yeah you should. I mean what is the point if you can't show off and make it dramatic". He looked over at Akki, that seemed to describe her best, show off and over dramatic. Though he didn't mean it in a mean way, Akki was a fun person to be with.

D'ran quickly got up when G'han pulled on his arm. "Want to join, Nike? I am sure it is more fun than just cheering- of course, unless you like to lay around," he said grinning. Taunting people was always the way to get them to do something, not flattery. He looked out at the water when G'han released his wrist.
~-~
Kia blushed and sunk a little deeper into the water. She would not let herself be beat by Akki. Akki didn't easily get embarressed, though. Kia settled on not being flustered by stuff so easily. "Ha! None of you will win because I am the best swimmer here," she yelled. Kia did swim a lot to keep training at it.
Kylath glared as Ampareth pulled ahead. She sped up greatly but passed the finish line a nose behind Amparath. Her nose was literatly at the end of his.

"Now K'dan, why are YOU examining me? The tables have now turned!"She said, suspiciously watching him. Was something on her face? Or was Ebbeth behind her, miming dunk her under the water again, something she did not doubt. She noticed her friend blush at her comment aobut her and T'rin and winked at Kia before saying, "Conceit is the worst thing to do Kia. Just for that comment you shall lose."

Nike sat up at D'ran's comment. "Just to let you know, I can't swim with you all because I lived in Southern Boll for my life. I was the fastest one there. And I will win." The Healer stood up, and started streaching in an odd manner. Once she was done, she walked over to the diving rock, and dove neatly in. Nike came up beside the others. "Not even G'han will beat me." She said, treading water to save her energy. A long smirk was on her face. She knew she would win, she always won.

Kia grinned broadly. "Perhaps that is true, Nike, but I also swam a lot. Plus, I don't just train in general. I always swim to train," she shouted. She treaded water as well to save her energy.
Kylath frowned, not liking that she had lost.
~-~
"I am not much of a swimmer but don't think you will win so easily," the Weyrling said with a smirk. He ran off the rock and did a less than graceful jump in.
