Rhia reined in her mare. ~I will keep that in mind Gerenanth.~ Neither of the dragons hesitated to speak to the other's riders.
Must you confront him Mine?
~I have to Mneith. If we are to remain weyrmates I will not have him hiding such a thing from me. I am open with him, he will be open with me or he can pack his things and move back to his own weyr. Gerenanth says this isn't the first time he hides that from me.~
She rode on until she came to where he was. She watched him for a while, a silent figure on her chestnut runner. She almost recoiled from the anger she saw in the lines of his muscular body but she did not. She slipped off her mount and waited for him to notice her.

G'han grew more relentless every second it seemed. He jumped in the air and came down, planiting his fist in the ground. His hand made a hole in the ground, he pulled it out and shook it, it was red and hurt a little. He looked behind him to notice Rhia. "Gerenanth told me you wanted to talk to me", he said in a calm , quiet voice that seemed to cover what he had been before. "I am sorry I hid it from you. I know I shouldn't have but..........it's very painful to to talk about. THat is why I came out here and tried to take my mind off of it", he said looking her in the eyes.

Rhia struggled to keep her words calm. "I will not have you hiding things like this from me G'han. You say you care about me, then show it! Be honest with me! Is it because of the raiders? The ones that attacked your family? Or is it something else?"
"You think MY past is NOT painful to talk about? I never hid that from you. Before you came Mneith would wake me as I screamed for my parents not to leave me. Screamed so loud that he was afraid I would wake everyone else up. I no longer have those dreams but I know how they are. I didn't have anyone that I felt I could tell, but you do. If you keep hiding stuff like that from me I will ask you to leave."

G'han fell to the ground, he was wiped out from the training. He hung his head. "I..............I am sorry love. It is nightmares about................about my family's disappearance. I keep having nightmares about how it happened, even though I don't know what happened. I keep seeing my father's body lying dead before me and my mother and brother blaming me that it is all my fault", he said to her and paused as he hit the ground, "if I hadn't stayed and helped my family they might be here today and I don't even know if they are dead or not either so it hurts even more. I don't know what to think and it hurts too much to think about it". He tried to get up again but his legs were still a bit tired. He sat back on the ground and looked her in the eye hoping she wouldn't kick him out. "I am sorry I didn't tell you this before. I am use to not having anybody to talk to or lean on. I am really sorry. If you kick me out then.............I will.....................understand", he said to her. Gerenanth pleaded to her. Rhia please don't. You and I are all he has left now. If he lost you he might take a turn for the worst. He honestly cares about you deeply and he didn't tell you because he didn't want to burden you anymore than you already were. It is overwhelming even for him so he thought it might be the same with you too.

Her hard gaze softened. " I am sorry I lost my temper. I will not kick you out. I just want you to be open with me."
~I know Gerenanth.~ She told the bronze softly.
She sat near him. "I know you must be torn apart by that. Perhaps we could ask Christae to send a message out to keep an eye out for any tidings of your family."

G'han nodded his head. "I guess we could, but I want to find out myself what happened to them. It is my fault anyway", he said to her. He signaled Gerenanth and the dragon came to him. He hopped on and flew back to the weyr. He lept off and got ready and went to take a bath. This time he fought the exhaustion and bathed and managed to crawl back in bed. He collapsed under the exhaustion and fell asleep.

She watched him and sighed. He could have at least waited until she had moved her runner away before taking off with Gerenanth. The mare had bolted and Rhia had to go catch her.
When Rhianna finally got Sundance calmed she mounted and rode back to the weyr. It had taken her close to a half an hour to catch the frightened mare. It took a few more minutes to cool her down and unsaddle her. She also had to wipe her down. Then she stabled her and walked up to her weyr. She saw that G'han was asleep and sighed. She was going to fuss him for leaving so abruptly and scaring her mare into bolting but she would not wake him up.
"What am I going to do with him?" She said, raising her hands in the air in exasperation.
~Tolerate him because you love him.~ Mneith's voice was mild.
"Oh hush you." She grumbled. A rumbling laugh was her only reply. It was too early for her to sleep so she went down. Christae found her and asked her to deliver a message to a nearby hold. Rhia accepted and ran back up to get her riding straps and gear.

G'han awoke later that day. It was late afternoon so he went to get something to eat. He came back to his weyr and picked up a book to read. He lacked the concentration for it and soon gave up. He had to find out what happened to his family. Now that he had told Rhia, he grew even more desperate to want to find them.

Rhia finished her errand and returned. She walked into their weyr, striping off her riding gloves. She still had her helmet and her riding jacket and boots on.

When Rhia came in G'han rushed to her. He helped her take the helment off and wrapped his arms around her. "I am sorry I kept that from you", he said still apologizing. He held her closer and kissed her. He still couldn't find focus, so much clouded his mind.

She sighed. "It's ok. Now, I need you to let me go so I can take off my riding jacket and boots." She stepped back and undid the snaps for her jacket. She shrugged out of it and sat on the bed to pull off her fleece-lined boots.

G'han reluctantly let her go. When she said that she might kick him out he felt like he might lose her. Like he lost so many others that he cared about. He sighed and and sat on the bed beside her.

"Sorry love I can't help it I don't want to lose you. I have already lost so much", he said. He thought the pain had gone away but apparently he had only suppressed it until now. He layed his head on her lap and looked up at her. "If I lost you I don't know what I would do. I couldn't stand the thought of losing someone else that I care about", he said looking into her eyes. He gave a smile and said, "Your eyes are beautiful. I could stay lost in them for eternity". He gave a smirk, he wasn't the type to say things like that and it seemed it suprised him that he said that.

She looked at him, suprised. "I never heard you say anything like that." She chuckled and placed her head against his shoulder.
Suddenly she heard Kaith's voice in her head They hatch!
"G'han I have to go pick up holders. The eggs are Hatching!" Excitement colored the warm tones of her voice. She hurriedly tied her hair back. Mneith landed on the ledge and barely contained his excitement as his rider slipped on his straps. Rhia jammed her helmet on her head and clipped it. She leapt onto Mneith, her riding jacket hanging open.

G'han still had his head in her lap when she bolted up. He went sprawling to the floor. He nodded his head and said to her,"I will help". He got ready and hopped on Gerenanth. He enjoyed helping Rhia and spending time with her.

Rhia was still bringing holders home for quite a while after the Hatching. Mneith sent Gerenanth a message to tell G'han that Rhia didn't want him to wait up for her, even though she figured he probably wouldn't listen.

Gerenanth sent the message. "Now she knows me better than that", he said aloud. He found it a rare occasion to fall asleep without her in his arms.

Rhia slipped off of Mneith's back and waited for Gerenanth to drop off G'han. She was tired, that much was certain, but she would not sleep until she had bathed.

"Rhia you look tired. I think you should get some rest", he said to her. He noticed lately she seemed different, he shrugged it off not thinking much of it. THey had both been very busy as of late. He waited until after Rhia took her bath and took one of his own. When he was done he slipped into some comfortable sleeping clothes and curled in bed.
