G'han was in Rhia's weyr reading when Gerenanth went after Kaith. He had continued reading after the gold's flight but then put his book aside and looked over to Rhia. "Rhia I want to talk to you about something if you don't mind", he said to her. He got up from where he was and moved closer to her and held her hand.

Rhia looked up at his tone. He sounded like he had something on his mind. "What's wrong G'han?" She started a bit when he took her hand. "Did something happen?" She hastily brushed her dragon's mind.
I am fine and so is Gerenanth so don't worry so much.
Ok. Her grey eyes went back into foucs on the bronzerider's face.

"Nothing is wrong, I was just thinking", he paused then continued, "I think we should become weyrmates and share the same weyr. We care about each other as much as any guy and girl could care about each other. So what do you say?" He looked at Rhia waiting for her answer.
Gerenanth gave a smug look. I hope she says yes. He said to Mneith. G'han is happiest when with her, so it only makes sense those two should be together.

Rhia looked at him, a bit suprised. "I don't know about that. Mneith and Gerenanth are both males. Usually people who become weyrmates are those whos' dragons mate together."
I hope she says yes as well. The brown told the bronze. She is aways thinking about him and is unhappy when they are apart. She worries about him too much.

"Usually but we are different. Besides our dragons were the ones who pushed us together. Gerenanth helped convince me to tell you how I felt and Mneith was threatening to tell me how you felt remember", he said to her.
Gerenanth intruded on their conversation speaking to both of them. Mneith and I think you two should be together. Both of you are happiest when you are around each other and can't stand to be seperated. You have our permission if that is all that you need. Just say yes. This silly game that you two play is quite aggervating to us.

Rhia blushed slightly when G'han mentioned Mneith threatening to tell him. "Technically he did tell." She said.
She was startled when Gerenanth spoke to her. Would the bronze start talking to her more often now that she and his rider were weyrmates. "I suppose they are right." She felt as well as heard Mneith's agreeing rumble.
I agree with the little upstart. Rhia chuckled at her brown's nickname for the bronze. She realized that Mneith had spoken to G'han as well as to her.
"That LITTLE upstart is almost bigger than you and he's still growing." Rhia looked up and met G'han's eyes. "I think my weyr is a bit bigger but it's up to you which one we use."

"I can move my stuff in your weyr. All my books are in here anyway because I always come over here to read with you", he said jokingly. "I will get my stuff and move in. We can tell Christae later that we have become weyrmates. I think now she is a bit distacted", he continued.
G'han didn't have much with him. It didn't take long for him to move his stuff in. When he was finished he sat with Rhia and continued reading.

Rhia waited and read for a while when he was done. She reached the end of one of her books and set it down queitly so as not to disturb her companion. She rose and stretched her lithe body and then moved over to the ledge to where her dragon stood. She stretched on her tip toes to reach her dragon's eye ridges, scratching them.

G'han watched Rhia go over to the ledge with Mneith. He was happy now. He was overjoyed at the thought that the two were weyrmates now.
Gerenanth nudged Rhia a bit to signal her to scratch him. G'han continued reading his book. When he was done he joined her on the ledge holding her in his arms.

Rhia reached with her other hand and scratched the bronze's eye ridges as well. When G'han put his arms around her she leaned back against him, enjoying the feel of his strong arms. She had never really been treated like something to be coddled. Dragonriders certainly were not considered in the least bit fragile. "I wonder if the healers will release me soon."

"They will. I know I treat you like the most fragile thing but you are tough and heal quick. I only treat you that way because I care for you so much", he answered. He looked down at Rhia in his arms and the two dragons at either side. It seemed like one happy family. He continued to hold her and look out beyond the ledge. "I have never been so happy as I am now. I lose one family only to gain another", he said aloud, not really directing it to anyone.

Rhia laughed, shaking her head. "I hope you don't treat me like I'm fragile all the time. I am not an unhardened egg. Remember, I was a dragonrider for almost a turn before you came here."
She fell silent and thought for a while when he mentioned family. "I lost mine as well, but now I have a big family. You and the dragons, Christae, Nike, Akki, R'dan, Nira, the new transfer riders and the candidates. They are all my family now and I couldn't wish for a better set of relatives." She sighed contentedly.

He looked down at her and said, "I couldn't ask for a better weyrmate". Gerenanth swished his tail to tap G'han on the back. What about me? "Gerenanth you know I couldn't have asked for a better dragon. I tell you that all the time", he said then he paused and gave a smirk and continued, "You little upstart". He took one of his hands off Rhia and scratched the dragon's eyeridges.

Rhia started laughing. "I guess Mneith's nickname for Gerenanth stuck." She turned in his arms and hugged him tightly. "My ribs don't hurt anymore." She said softly.

"I can tell, you are squezing me pretty tight. Don't worry though, I am tough I can handle it", he said to her. "It's getting pretty late, lets get some dinner then retire for the night. I have been tired all day", he said. You are getting lazy that's why. "I am not. I just cut down on my training, I still train two or three times every sevenday. I am a dragonrider now and have responsibilities here, responsibilities that still keep me in shape", he said to his dragon glaring. He turned his attention back to Rhia, "Change of plans after dinner I train then I retire for the night", he said.

Rhia loosened her hold. "Sounds like a good idea, but while you are training I am going for a ride on my runner. She hasn't been exercised in a while and it will do both of us good to get outside." She stood for a while just looking up at his face before turning and walking down the stairs of her weyr to reach the weyr bowl. She had chosen a high weyr, but she preferred it that way. She would be able to keep in shape if she ran up and down the stairs a few times.
You could always ride me down.
Nah Mneith. I like the exercise.
Why? You are already as lean as you can be without being too thin. You were plumper when I hatched.
I know.

G'han gave a smirk. "I wonder how long I could keep up with that runner. I don't think I am as fast as I use to be", he said. He got something to eat and trained outside. When Rhia was ready on her runner he took off along side of it being able to keep up with it for awhile. Though he was in good physical shape he was no runner and soon he was outran. He continued training where he was then soon laid out on the ground meditating for a bit until Rhia would come back.

Rhia ate quickly and lightly. She went to the stables and saddled up Sundance. The mare was eager to run but she kept her at a steady pace until the mare was warmed up. When she was ready Rhia waved a goodbye to her weyrmate and shot off, riding the runner like she had been born in the saddle. Mneith circled overhead, keeping an eye on his accident prone rider. She enjoyed the feel of the wind through her hair and realized how much she had missed riding.
Rhia rode until the sun began to sink below the horizon and then turned back. She could see well enough to ride and her mare was used to being ridden on unfamiliar trails at night but she did not want to worry anyone. As it was she reached G'han after the sun had set.

G'han stood when she approached. "It's getting late. Let's get some sleep", he said to her. He waited for her to return the runner to it's stall and held her hand as they walked back to their weyr.

Rhia rubbed down her mare after she had been unsaddled, fed her and then joined G'han outside. When she reached their weyr she gathered her clothes and went to the bathing room in the back of the weyr, enjoying the heated pool of water.
She washed her long hair and then quickly scrubbed the grime off her body. She wrapped herself in a long towel and then walked to where she had laid her clothes down. She dressed in a comfortable tunic and leggings and wrapped a towel around her long hair to keep it from soaking the back of her shirt. She walked back into the main room and smiled at G'han before going to check see if Mneith needed any patches of hide oiled.
