Kia waved to her family as they walked in, happy to see them. Now she was very reassured.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Daran saw Kia waving to somebody. He looked out and wondered who the people were.
[glow=blue,2,300]What is wrong, Mine. You have stopped oiling me and I still itch on my stomach.[/glow]
~What? Oh... nothing, Aureth.~
Akki clapped loudly after she moved over and the blue Impressed D'ran. [glow=teal,2,300]A blue suits him, I am glad he was picked[/glow]Ebbeth said contently after the blue walked off with his new mine. I am too. Who is that Kia is waving to?. [glow=teal,2,300]Her family[/glow] Ebbeth rumbled.
Kazrael studied the blue hatchling with awe in his gaze. This was not, by any means, the first Hatching which he had stood in hopes of Impression. No, neither was it the second, or the Third. About two turns back, the now 17 turn old had left home of his own will, to go to a Weyr...where he was consequentially Searched. But after standing 5 hatchings (it was rather large, and there was always at least one clutch on the sands) the Weyrwoman had despaired of his success. And so, to rid herself of this problem, he had been sent to Dark Moon. As a result, he now stood here, on the Hatching Sand of a Weyr that he had been in for so little a period of time, staring at the most gorgeous blue he had ever seen from any clutch; despite the number that he had stood. A droplet of sweat rolled down his brow, and he licked his dry lips nervously. Would he succeed here? Or fail, yet again? As only 17 turns, he still could stand until he was 21. So many more...so much possibility... But again. Perhaps he wasn't meant to become a rider, after all, he thought glumly. He hadn't really been searched in the first place. At least, not until he had gone to a Weyr for curiousity's sake. He shuffled on the scorching sands, eyes fixed stubbornly on his boot-tips.
Kazrael's eyes widened in surprise, as the blue rushed him, crooning with a sound of...delight?!... in his tone. "What... Admin's Note:[/hr]" he stammered, as the beautiful hatchling twined around him, the voice echoing in his mind. He had never -never!- expected the Weyrwoman of his old weyr to be correct. Never. She had despaired of his ever Impressing, and sent him here to get a potential problem off her hands. And this... ~K'rael your Ioneth hurts! He is hungry. Please feed me and help me up!~ the dragonet stated, turning an adoring face to the shocked youth. But... "Me?!" he exclaimed, voice squeaking upwards. "I...I..." ~Please?~ There was entreaty in that gorgeous, swirling gaze. "Uh...of course I'll feed you," Kazrael -now K'rael, as he had tried so hard to avoid hoping to become- said after a moment, unable to resist the look that Ioneth cast. Bending, he assisted the pale dragonet to his feet, features quite pale themselves. Good, because I'm very hungry~ the dragonet stated matter of factly. Tremulously, Kaz smiled down at him, and led his new bond-mate off of the scorching sands.
((*huggles Ioneth* T'ank you, Spirithawk!))
Nike smiled and clapped as the brown Impressed Z'nir. The healer picked up her kit then dissappeared into the shadows. As she made her way towards the entrance, she passed the little gray egg. Nike smiled, then looked around nervously. Everyone was watching the slightly rocking Queen egg, the new Pairs, or another dragon or egg. The girl let out a quick, light sigh then slowly stroked the egg.
Kia watched Nike almost disappear. She looked around, studying each egg. She wondered which egg was destined for her and which for everyone else who had not Impressed.
Nike smiled as she flattened her hand over the shell, and slowly moved it around. She then stoped. I shouldn't be doing this! I should be standing at the entrance making sure no one would get mauled. The Healer shook her head then, quickly darted back to the entrance. The older Journeyman Healer looked down at her puzzled. Nike smiled up at him, then looked back at the hatching.
-------------------------
Sh'iron clapped at each Impression. "I'll right. But I'm telling Myranenth to tell Nike that as soon as the Hatching's over that she's going right to you." The Weyrleader told Christae.
Myranenth, tell Nike that as soon as the Hatching is over, go straigh to Christae and fix her.
Healer, when the Hatching is over, you must fix Chistae first.
-------------------------
Nike grinned as she heard Myranenth's voice in her head. Alright, I will. She replied.
Kazrael...(K'rael he reminded himself after a moment) moved off to the side, where the other new weyrlings were feeding and oiling their dragonets. Ioneth reminded him, rather impatiently, that he was very hungry, and wished to be fed. In a daze, K'rael nodded, and moved towards the buckets of food. The impatient blue hatchling pushed past him and waited, maw gaping in expectation of the meat that his Chosen held. Bewilderedly, the youth stared at his bucket. He ought to feed Ioneth. He knew how. It was just...it seemed too good to be true. ~I'm still very hungry~ the rather clumsly blue reminded him pointedly, and with a ghost of a smile, he nodded and took out the first cube of meat.
Impatiently, the blue nudged him, and taking a deep breath, K'rael handed it to him. ~Faster!~ the dragonet urged, and alarmed by the hunger pangs that he was getting, the new weyrling obliged. "Remember to chew," he chided softly, reaching out tentatively to brush a hand across the smooth head knob of his beloved dragonet. Had he been able to glare, that is what Ioneth would have been doing, but as it was, there was sense in the young man's words, and he obeyed, pausing to chew before swallowing the chunks of meat obediantly. Rolling his eyes, K'rael offered another piece of meat, which was delicately accepted by the dragonet, who's eyes were whirling slower now, and he was being far more deliberate as he selected the piece from the youth's palm. At last, he was sated, and leaned his head on K'rael's lap, and together they sat, simply gazing into each other's eyes. It may have looked rather odd, but at the moment, the young man didn't care. He had Ioneth...and at the time being, the little blue was his entire world.
Kadan looked around him, not as many male candidates left. Surely he would impress all the sooner now. He looked a bit worried though, the thought of not impressing had crossed his mind. He shook the thought off and stood with confidence that he would impress.
.....................................
G'han thought to himself. Perhaps now that the timid youth had his blue he would be a bit more open and social. He hoped so, people at the weyr were definently social. He tried to get the kid to relax a little but it didn't work. He seemed a bit more open towards Kadan. He shrugged knowing his candidate friend would try his best to open him up a little. He looked to Kadan who was still on the sands waiting to impress. "I hope he impresses", he told his weyrmate. Don't worry I am sure the boy will impress well. ~I hope you are right Gerenanth~, he said.
Nike smiled as she watched the Candidates. "I'll be right back." She told the other two healers. The girl was feeling uneasy since she touched that egg, but mabey it wouldn't hatch. But still it did feel alive in there. She debated about what she had done while she made her way towards Rhia and G'han.
Nike smiled when she reached her friends. " 'Ello. Enjoying the Hatching?" She said taking a seat next to the two.
D'ran sat down on the floor.
~Do you want to come sit here with me?~
[glow=blue,2,300]I am tired.[/glow]
~Come here and rest.~
Aureth sauntered to D'ran and layed next to him, using D'ran's lap for a pillow. D'ran smiled, patting the blue.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kia watched the Impressed, almost jealous of them. She watched Nike sit with the riders, wondering why she was there.

"Yes this seems to be a bit more lively than the hatching I stood for", he shook his head, "Poor Kadan, atleast he is alright. I hope he impresses", he said to her. "So I am guessing his injuries aren't serious", he asked her remembering it was her that had checked up on the two candidates.

Nike smiled. "Well this is our Weyrwoman's dragon. So yeah it would be a bigger hatching than yours." The Healer said befor looking back down to the Candidates. "Yeah he'll Impress. I know it." She grinned. "Oh yeah he's fine. His cut was deep and long, but the brown didn't go too far." Nike added.

"Yeah I am happy for Christae, the dragons seem to be very healthy and there are plenty of candidates to stand for this one. It is good to hear that Kadan is ok. I was worried for a second there that it might be worse than what he seems to be putting it off as", he said to her with a grin on his face. Hmmmm. Remind you of someone? ~What are you talking about?~, he asked his dragon. His dragon laughed at him as G'han seemed clueless to his question.

Nike grinned and laughed at the bronze's comment. Yep, Kadan has been around G'han too much! I swear they could be brothers! The Healer told the dragon. "Yeah he's fine. And I know Christae and Sh'iron are happy. Look, I swear their shinning brighter than their dragons!" She pointed to her Weyrleaders.
Sh'iron was grinning, and beaming like this was HIS dragon's hatching. Myranenth had his head down near Kaith's. The bronze was shinning like the queen herself!

Yes that is exactly what it is like. Like G'han deemed him his sidekick or something. Gerenanth hid this from G'han but spoke to Nike. G'han looked out onto the sands still eyeing the eggs and the candidates that remained. He wondered if another dragon would do what that blue did and climb to the stands to find his bonded.

Nike nodded and agreed with Gerenanth. She smiled and looked down at the eggs. Her eyes watching the gray egg. She hoped that her touching it didn't do anything to affect it. Mabey it wouldn't hatch, mabey it would Impress someone else. Mabey the dragon would go /between/ before it found her. But if that dragon hatched, and Impressed her, no one could even think of what would happen to her...

"Hello Nike." Nira smiled but then started talking again. "Arn't you supposed to be down there in case someone gets hurt?" she asked the healer.
