INTRODUCTORY:

Welcome Dark Moon members and guests alike to the first newsletter of Dark Moon Weyr! Dark Moon Weyr is a long time standing forum RP that's been around for a number of years. The site itself is a very close community that welcomes anyone and everyone to join in on the fun.

Firstly we'd like to start off congratulating all the active members that keep Dark Moon alive and kicking. You're the heart and soul of the site and in our first newsletter, it's fitting you get honorary mention. Spirithawk, Akki, Wolf, Kestrel, Kino, Sparrow, Torva, and Dragon.

Any new members to Dark Moon Weyr, we welcome you with open arms and can't wait to RP with you. Feel free to join in any active threads, or better yet start one on your own! Also feel free to contact the staff if you have any questions, or even suggestions. You'll find we're open to new ideas and encourage everyone's input.

Now on with the show! Dark Moon has a number of plots going on right now and we can't wait for you to join in on the fun!


Dark Moon's recent hatching means new weyrlings and a hatching feast for celebration! Join us in Hurricane Hatching Feast as the newly impressed interact with each other, riders, and weyrfolk alike. There's dancing, food, and socializing taking place at this very moment. Get in on the action now.

J'kiran has made a friend by the lake while seeing how far the waters have risen. How well will these two get to know each other? What will become of this friendship? See how things take off in High Water Line.

A Masquerade Ball is taking place a seven day after Dark Moon's recovery and clean-up from a hurricane. Throw in your characters in Let the Masquerade Begin, you can even throw in NPCs for fun! Already the dance floor heats up as couple’s pair off and things start to get intimate, and comical.

After many turns apart, G'han and Rhia finally confront each other thanks to the actions of Gerenanth. Find out what really happened between these two in First Meeting Again. Will G'han survive the encounter?

In Hunting the Hunter, dragonriders take to a feline chase. Rhia leads in place of Christae and Kaith who's just clutched. Watch events unfold as the dragonriders must track a group of felines preying on the herdbeasts of a hold that tithes to Dark Moon. K'tan and Anassa are sent after a group of cubs hiding in the bushes, but instead of killing them, K'tan hides one. Will his disobedience be found out? Was his actions just?

J'red and Christae talk about Kaith's last mating flight in Seeking out J'red. Watch and see how things turn out.

Around the chatango box we now have text boxes and our scrollbar. Necessary Dark Moon information goes up here. Be sure to keep track because changes are made in accordance with circumstance.

Dark Moon Weyr is pleased to announce it current undertaking of a webpage! However, we're not done with it yet. It's up to you, the members of the site, to place input and let us know what you want! Make suggestions. The quicker the response, the sooner this can go up for all to view!

Remember that to keep Dark Moon happy and healthy, we need plenty of activity. This falls on us, the members of the site, to take an active role in what goes on. You can help us by:

INTRODUCTORY:

Welcome all to Dark Moon Weyr. As you know, Dark Moon is a forum based RP in the reality of Pern. Members have gone, but others come to take their place. Firstly we start off by welcoming our three newest members:

In Hurricane Hatching Feast, the candidates dance and talk amongst themselves while some of the more prominant dragonriders play catch up.

Let the Masquerade Begin! The harpers have played a ballad for the small Dark Moon Weyr and dancing resumes again. Who will be partnered up this time?

Z'ayr and others carry K'ris back to the Substitute Barracks. See what unfolds!

Seems like G'han has survived his encounter with Rhia and the two have reconciled their past. See how events wind down in First Meeting, Again. *Now Closed*

Bring the brooms and soapsand! Hurricane Clean up at Dark Moon weyr begins! See what unfolds as dragonriders, weyrlings, and candidates of the weyr gather to hear Christae's orders, and chat amongst themselves in the meantime.

Now on with the show! Dark Moon has a number of plots going on right now and we can't wait for you to join in on the fun!

A Masquerade Ball is taking place a seven day after Dark Moon's recovery and clean-up from a hurricane. Throw in your characters in Let the Masquerade Begin, you can even throw in NPCs for fun! Already the dance floor heats up as couple’s pair off and things start to get intimate, and comical.

Newly arrived candidate Faine has met up with some of her fellow candidates, and the meeting isn't quite what she expected. It's the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly in Lost and (Hopefully) Found.

G'han seems to have a new interest after clearing the air with Rhia. What's in store for Aarora and G'han when their tour ends at the bronzerider's weyr? Be sure to see how Aarora is Making Her Way...

The Hurricane that made the latest Hatching so interesting has left a path of destruction in it's wake. Now Christae is organizing a clean up for the weyr and it's surrounding holds. See what unfolds as the weyr bands together to take on this massive clean up project in Bring the brooms and soapsand! Hurricane Clean up.

Dark skies, blue bound marks the arrival of Dark Moon's latest transfer and the promotion of G'han to Wingleader status. See the celebration take place with Q'sin, Aarora, Christae, and G'han.

In Dawn of a New Era, Dark Moon gets a new bronzerider transfer. What do Akki and Tanwen think of this new addition?

Newsletter: June 11, 2009


INTRODUCTORY:

Dragon's back and ready to write another newsletter! Welcome all to yet another newsletter from Darkmoon weyr! Summer has come, and with it a flock of newcomers. Let's hope they keep coming and don't fly away before the fun's really started! I would like to welcome all the new members (Shekru, Xennai, Tenebrae, Korenith, Marnark and possibly Blaze!) that we've had come in as of late and encourage all of you to become active. Create as many characters as you're comfortable with and throw them in with the motly crew we've already got going!


CURRENT PLOTS:

Plots have been coming out of the woodwork and we've got plenty of threads to be active in if you don't feel like starting your own!

In Knife To Know You, G'han and Z'ayr are introduced to a pair of swordswomen. G'han turns up the charm like usual, and Z'ayr is hoping for some new friends. Watch what happens as these four get to talking. Better yet, throw in your characters and have them meet Andilay and Rayn themselves!

While K'ris and Andilay talk, Kira was all too willing to show a mysterious stranger around the weyr. However, Hasima has taken her place and Kira has gone off to find Rhia. Who is this mysterious stranger and just what is he up to? You might just get a bad vibe from Something wicked this way comes (Exile plot begin).

R'fael and Ezieki meet in the kitchens. What events unfold when these two meet? Find out for yourself in A tasty dish in the kitchens (R'fael).

Sorcha bumps into Dhunen, quite literally. Well the young man be able to find his way around the weyr, with less bumps along the way? Well, Standing Still will get him nowhere.

Kalyr and Zigana are chatting it up in the barracks. Kalyr's no candidate, but Zigana is. Will that matter in their conversation? And just what was going on before Kallan introduced himself so heroicly? In all this, would there be made A New Friend?

A Quiet Entrance, but Karstag seems lost. Can Q'sin, whom he's bumped into, help him get to where he's going? Watch where these two end up, or go along the journey with them!

Is it the End of a long journey..., or the start of a new one? The new master healer has arrived to Dark Moon. And who does he meet first? The accident prone Akki. Will her warm welcome with a cup of klah be enough to win him over to Akki?

When the Tanner hall come's a-visiting, P'rin finds a fellow tanner to converse with. But how much do P'rin and Kalyr really have in common?

Ezieki has a Reunion of his own at Darkmoon. A handful of candidates gather together for a conversation all their own. The topics to be shared between Kallan, Ezieki, Tumaril, and Salina are anyone's guess. The only way to know, however, is to check it out yourself.

We're Transferring them in. A clutch, that is. The weyrwoman is overlooking, while riders are placing the eggs carefully on the sands. The candidates have all been called in to marvel and speculate over the clutch at hand. Many questions must riddle the minds of this new batch of candidates.

Not Your Average Day, not after a flight anyway. Love interests R'xis and Aarora are gone, leaving G'han and Akki in the aftermath. How will these two cope? Well, atleast they have each other. Meanwhile, V'ian's got some 'splainin' to do. Anassa woke up alone, and she's not happy about it.

It's Hot Heat and Wintry Water at the lake. G'han has a bronzerider to bronzerider talk with V'ian. Meanwhile, the candidates have split off into their own little groups. While Faine and Vaelryn are having a lovely conversation, Dicar and Tanwen seem to have anything but. Will these two supposed loners find solice in their similiar attitudes? Will Faine be able to keep her hands from stealing anything of Vaelryn's? Are G'han and V'ian actually going to form a club?

Dhunen has found himself alone at the lake, watching Ripples. Alone, atleast, until Ezieki shows up. What will these two young men have to talk about? Could girls possibly be a subject of interest?

The Wher hold is active, but maybe not in the best way. What will happen when there is A Clash of Gold and Bronze

There is unfortunant news. With great sadness, we realize the departure of our beloved Wolf. Beyond everything, I hope she knows she will be missed by all. Dark Moon, as I've stated many times, is a close knit community group and watching one of our own leave is a hard thing. But we wish her the best of luck and let her know that we are still her friends.

SITE UPDATES:

Dark Moon has seen plenty of changes recently and the staff has been working plenty hard to impliment changes. Things may be a bit chaotic, but know that all questions, concerns, complaints, and suggestions are welcome. Feel free to use the board or PM an admin personally. Let your voice be heard.

I would also like to remind everyone at this time to not be too caught up in the rush of getting posts in and threads out. We're all for activity, but everyone has their own pace. Some are faster than others, while some aren't able to come on as often. Everyone please be respectful to one another. Don't skip over other members, and if you're not able to post for awhile, make sure to give the go ahead to skip over you. Roleplaying is about working together.

Note from Akki:
Hawk and I have a few things we wanted to add to the newsletter! Just a few quick but importants announcements.

Caspian Hold:
We have a major plot in store for Caspian Hold. We suggest that the members create some characters there! There's a few positions open (Master Weavers, Lady Holder) and drudges and the like are always welcome!
We can guarantee you that this plot will be good. It's killing me to wait for it to get started. So get in there and make some characters!

Wher Hold:
We're happy to announce that the Wher Hold is open and active. Bring in some Wher Handlers or even some candidates! The Wher Hold will be an excellent place for you to have interesting roleplays.

Transfer Clutch:
The clutch currently on the Sands are from Ista. Dark Moon is currently the only Weyr in Pern so this means that the dragons that appear will be all canon colors.

With that in mind - We felt that we should mention some things about mutant colors. The mutant dragons that we give out are not very common. We only give them out when we feel that the roleplayer has done enough around the Weyr to deserve one. So if you want the chance to get a mutant, be active and help out around the Weyr c:

The Hatching will officially be on June 20th! So get your candidates ready!

Bad News:
We officially confirmed today that our fellow Dark Moon member Wolf will no longer be roleplaying with us. She chose to leave Dark Moon and we respect her decision and wish her the best of luck in the future.
We apologize to the members of Dark Moon that they had to witness the drama that this was involved in!
Because of Wolf's departure the Candidate Master's position is now open so please send in your application if interested!

Introduction:

Well kiddywinks, here we are again with the July newsletter! The hatching went off without a hitch – except for a few maulings and such, of course. I’d like to give a warm welcome to our new members; Amejisuto and Dark Dragon of the Never. I hope you guys enjoy roleplaying at Dark Moon!

Current Plots:

There’s quite a few boards going on right now so feel free to throw someone in or even make your own – you can never have enough.

In Knife To Know You, G'han and Z'ayr are continuing their chat with the wonderful Rayn and Andilay. They’re having some interesting conversations going; Andilay’s jiggly chest, Rayn’s luck with the women while Z’ayr and G’han discuss how guys flirt with one and another.

The Hatching Feast is off to a start! Everyone has dolled themselves up, grabbed some food and started to kick up their heels thanks to the wonderful music by Hester, Anassa and Priath. Gold Wherhandler Danae and Bronze Wherhandler Alder have made an appearance so they could meet Weyrwoman Christae. Hopefully their meeting goes over well! Throw in some characters and join the shenanigans going down.

Something wicked this way comes is taking a turn for the worse as Hasima finds herself stuck in a store room as a stranger holds a knife to her neck. K’ris, Queroth and Andilay are coming to the rescue but will their plan work to save the yellowrider? Time is running out as the man demands a runner so he could escape. And what will happen when P’rin joins the rumble?

Salina is devastated that she was left standing at the hatching so Ez follows and tries to comfort her in One to Candidacy, and one to Weyrlinghood. His words seem to calm her down and she thanks him with a kiss…a kiss the Rhia just happened to witness. How much trouble is Ez in now? Read and find out!

Akki is once again causing trouble in Oops! Waking up to a friend. G’han awakes to find the half naked female bluerider in his bed – did he and Akki finally hook up? Or did he simply drnk too much at the feast last night...

In Scoping the place out another bronzerider makes an appearance, R’anl of Geth. He’s the new transfer and is immediately greeted by T’ren. They seem to be getting along but will that last? We can only hope so!

Candidates are given another shot in Touching Precious Gold, they get to touch the Gold egg that was transferred in while the hatching was going on. One of the people there will become the next Junior Weyrwoman of Dark Moon, could it be you? Get your female candidates in there to find out!

It seems Dark Moon is about to acquire greenrider…in a weird way. Eideen and green Daikalveth have just crashed into the lake, asking for help from the Weyr. What are their injuries from and how bad are they? MasterHealer Ragule, Journeyman Healer K’ael, P’rin and the Weyrwoman are about to find out as they rush to their visitors aid in Swan Dive, Swan Song

Riders are butting heads in Sunny Wet Stars! And part of the fight seems to be because of Akki, which isn’t all that unusual. Can everyone play nice with each other or will Y’rael and R’anl fight it out? Ez is watching as tensions seem to grow while Z’ayr just got soaked – courtesy of dear old Geth.

Caspian Hold/ Wher Hall Plots:

Viktu is covering for his drudge friend and finds himself stuck with the night shift in Endless Bubbly Pies. He thought it was going to be rather boring until Fyg and Fygwesk show up. The three end up taking off for a run on Fygwesk and while Viktu has a heart attack from the experience, Fyg is find an amazing discovery of flitt eggs.

Fyg and Viktu made it back to the Hold with the eggs, which are now hatching! Fruit of the Hunt (Flitt Clutch!) is going to be a good one! Fyg has stored away a dud egg in her shirt while Viktu was presented with a gold egg. A midnight sky mutant just emerged from an egg, what else could be in the clutch? Make a Hold/ Wherhandler character and get in there for the chance of an egg!

The Lord Holder is finally meeting Gold Wherhandler Danae in Meeting of the Heads. Advisor Terwin can only hope things go well between the two while Laier is there for moral support. Will the Lord Holder and the Gold Wherhandler get along?

And like I’ve mentioned a few times, trouble is about to brew up at Caspian Hold. Bring in some characters to see what’s about to go down! Lady Holder, Weavers, drudges, etc are all needed. Plus the Wher Hall is flourishing so bring in some Wherhandlers and Wher Candidates! The Hall is an active place to roleplay, so get in there!

I would like to congratulate everyone on Impressing c: And cheer up if your character didn’t! There would be many more opportunities for them! Also the Candidate Master position is still open if you want to send in an application, Akki is only a temporary one until we get a volunteer.
