I have decided that we have entirely too many boards so I am going to create this thread for Advertisements Rules: I ask that you obtain permission to post an advertisement if you are a guest to this weyr. I also ask that you advertise Dark Moon on your site. After all, we are advertising your weyr, so it is curteous to return the favor. ALL advertisements will be in here...no new topics or boards...just new posts ((Yes, there will be 4 non-canon colors soon...but anyways, I'd love it if some of you would join!)) The Story When several people in a large Hold went blind in three days, people wondered what was wrong with the food they were eating. In one sevenday, the entire Hold was dead. A month passed, and then two Weyrlings in High Reaches Weyr went blind, their dragons going Between two days later, screaming in pain. That same day, a Gold at Southern Weyr went Between without warning, leaving her new clutch on the Sands alone. More people, and then even more dragons and firelizards suddenly went blind, going Between or dying less than a sevenday later. Not one egg from the Southern Weyr clutch Hatched, and then the entire population of wild firelizards disappeared without a trace. With the Healers finding nothing at all to help, the Weyrleaders were forced to make a quick decision. A maximum of five riders from each Weyr were picked and sent to an island far South. Also included in the group were several families from Holds and Weyrfolk. Led by an older goldrider from Ista Weyr whose gold had just flown and a Junior Weyrwoman from High Reaches, the group was able to find a large group of caves that they called their temporary home, and they waited. A bluerider came across a group of firelizards feeding on a small fish that no one could name. A test was done, and it was discovered that there was something in the oils of the fish. The firelizards were living, so word was sent to the main Weyrs that a possible cure had been found. The only reply was a bronze flit carrying a short message: “Stay Away.” As the newly named Lesedi Weyr started to give the dragons small portions of the fish oil mixed with water, the gold from Ista finally clutched, and then her rider fell ill, dying of fever just when she was needed most. As the Queen disappears Between and the dragons keen in sorrow, the young goldrider from High Reaches steps up to lead the new Weyr. The clutch will Hatch soon, and it just might change the future of Pern. Will the clutch even Hatch? Will the fish oil that their mother had been fed affect them? How long will it be before word comes from the other Weyrs? Will the plague hit Lesedi? So many questions, and the story is just un-folding… lesediweyr.proboards80.com/index.cgi edit:: Edit given upon removal of this board from the ooc ->advertisements ~ re-titled none of hawks words changed

LINK BACK Your ad was posted on our site. AleniaIn a world of lush and bountiful lands, forests spreading across rolling hills and crystal clear rivers splashing down rocky banks, it is hard to imagine anything more beautiful. This charming land is home to humans who have forged alliances with the dragons and unicorns that share their world. With the end of those battles, all seemed peaceful and quiet. But unity has never been grasped within Alenia. Scattered cities and natural boundaries have long kept the various communities and cultures of Alenia separate. A darkness has been born in the north, and people are falling under its spell. With chaos griping the land, and destruction threatening the entire world, will you join in the fight for peace or fall sway to the call of power? Welcome to the Land of Alenia, a magical world filled with danger, excitement, and intrigue. Alenia is composed of 4 distinct communities each with their own look, feel, accent, and overall goals. Mirivena: Dark earth tones, metal and leather dominate their culture. They seek power and military discipline at any cost. Select members of this city find themselves blessed with a bond to their pride and joy, the dragons. Lenala: Light, pastel tones, plants and soft woven fabrics dominate their culture. They desire peace and prosperity above all. It is the peaceful, and virtuous at heart from this fair city that are given the gift of a bond with the symbol of light, the unicorns. Corsyalin: Medium hues with a tendency toward color, they are a balance between the gentleness of Lenala and stern power of Mirivena. Aeirdonian Desert: Bland earthen hues, rough fabrics yet splashes of color and wealth make them distinctive. Traders by nature, they travel the harsh lands of their home to seek their fortune in the other cities.

Post by Solaria Advertiser on Oct 31, 2008 14:18:28 GMT -5
Due to some major events, we're going through our advertising lists and re-advertising and adding new ads to it. Please do not take offense to this and delete it if you feel you must Founded in Turn 165 of the Sixth Interval, Solaria Weyr is the seventh Weyr of Pern. Though planned to house the overspill of other Weyrs, it is also a Weyr in its own right, and protects its own land. It was established in an extinct volcano on the Southern continent, on a tip of land by near Great Bay. Riders were eager to request a transfer to it when it was populated, lured by the prospect of tropical weather.
Now, the Red Star has been framed by the Eye Rock at the beginning of the Turn, and to many that is proof enough that Thread is returning for an Eighth Pass. For others, however, this is not proof enough: after all, there have been 200 Thread-free Turns, so surely it is not going to fall again? But clutches have started to become more frequent and larger in size, and thanks to the insistence of Weyrleaders traditional training has been continued so that the Weyr is prepared to fight Thread, despite its low numbers.
Tragically, Senior Weyrwoman Miori suffered a heart attack not long before the hatching of her dragon's clutch, and slipped into a coma. Although all eighteen eggs hatched healthy dragons, only a few days later Miori passed on. Almerion is now the interim Senior with T'niel remaining as Weyrleader. But with the arrival of a transfer goldrider, Levay, will Solaria's next senior Weyrwoman be native or foreign? And who will become Weyrleader?
Within sevendays of Levay's arrival, Wingleader T'kevi was out on sweeps when he discovered crackdust, confirming Thread's return. Pern must now prepare itself to meet its oldest enemy, but is it ready?
Other events that have occured within the last fifteen Turns include females Impressing to greens and even to blues, though the latter is still extremely rare. Even female Impressions to green are not that common – old ways of thinking are still holding strong in some places, and girls are often forbidden by their families to accept Search when there is no gold egg. Likewise, many Crafts are prejudiced against female members.
Solaria Weyr is a canon, AU role-play game based on the ‘Dragonriders of Pern’ series of books by Anne McCaffrey. Our aim is to provide a fun game with interesting plots that involve everyone, no matter what character they may play. This is the second incarnation of canon Solaria Weyr, and some of our history reflects what has occurred in the first incarnation.
Presently, we are particularly looking for a number of character concepts. We have a rare female bluerider up for adoption, several female greenriders available, and we are also seeking characters to fill Wingsecond positions, among others. A full list can be seen here.
The details of the most recent clutch, gold Ilayth and bronze Vroleith's, including the full information on the PC dragons, can be seen here.
Our address is solariaweyr.proboards74.com, and we are happy to answer any questions in the site’s Cbox.
Hope to see you around! [/blockquote]

(click the name to procede to the site) News: Medilath's first clutch is HATCHING right now!! Candidates are still being accepted!!Location:Located 75 klicks north of Drake's Lake. The Weyr is surrounded by dense jungle except for the wide road that leads to the Weyr's only ground entrance.History:One hundrend and fifty Turns in the past, there was a terrible catastrophy. An earthquake shook the mountains of High Reaches Weyr. An evacuation was called immediately and nearly everyone made it out alive. The Senior Weyrwoman, with her golden Queen and her clutch of 21 eggs, were killed during a cave in of the Hatching Grounds. The Weyrwoman and her Queen suffocated and the eggs where smashed by falling rocks. A rescue was attempted but it came too late. The deaths were honored by tradition. They were taken between by the Weyrleader of High Reaches. Though he and his bronze never came back out of between.
The site of High Reaches Weyr had been demolished by the quake. The other Weyrs took in as many as they could. There was talk of finding another location to house the Riders and folk of High Reaches. But nothing was done for a few turns.
Twenty turns passed to be precise. A lone Greenrider from Fort Weyr made the discovery of an abandoned volcano. She quickly scouted around and took notes of things that would be good about the location and things that would be bad about the location. She took her observations back to Fort and made her discovery known to her Weyrleaders. Conclave was called and every Weyrleader from the other Weyrs attended. It was decided to open a new Weyr in the South. Then they argued about who to send of their Goldriders to see to the new Weyr.
Fort wanted that gold pair to go. Igen wanted this gold pair to go. But in the end, the Goldrider selected to go was the one remaining High Reaches Goldrider and Queen. It was Naroa and her gold Ashrilth. And it was made known that anyone could go with her to the new Weyr. But out of all of the Queens, only Naroa was going. Once her gold had her first mating flight there to establish the Weyr's Leadership, more golds would be sent to help. Naroa refused the last bit. Only she would be Weyrwoman. She would only have any goldriders of her gold as her seconds. Her Queen was the last pure blood High Reaches Queen. And she wanted to keep it that way to honor her lost home and their lost Weyrwoman and Weyrleader. So, the Conclave agreed and told her only until she had at least two more golds from her beloved Queen. But if her gold didn't lay two gold eggs within the next ten turns, they would send their own. Finally, Naroa agreed to the terms. When she arrived, Naroa named the new Weyr after herself.
Over the next ten turns, though. Ashrilth did not clutch any gold eggs. Not a one. And then a few days after one of Ashrilth's semi-large clutches had hatched, a new goldrider and her Queen arrived. Naroa was not happy, but what could they do? They accepted the goldrider with open arms. And for five turns, everything seemed to be as it should. The Weyr was growing and prospering. Though Ashrilth had yet to lay a gold egg. Rumors were spreading that Ashrilth would never lay a gold egg. Though, the new gold, Lepanath, hadn't clutched one either.
A turn later, Ashrilth rose and was caught by a bronze. No shock there! While Ashrilth was with eggs, something happened. No one knew that the bronze had been carrying a virus. A virus that altered DNA in a dragon's genetic code that seems to only affect the dragon's color. One nice cool day, Ashrilth's clutch hatched and there was a shock to everyone. There were the normal colors, and some new colors of hatchlings! Rumors began to spread, but no one could figure out what happened. The truth remained elusive for six Turns. Until a recrod was found at the original landing sight where human's had first colonized Pern. The record explained that some time shortly after the first dragons had hatched and the first Queen had been flown and clutched, the dragons that had hatched from those eggs had different colors.
The new colors were readily accepted, though a small band of miscreants did not want the new colors and wanted them gone. Ever since then, there has been struggles between everyone all over Pern about the new dragon colors. But only Naroa Weyr has the new colors and accepts the colors readily.
One hundred and nine turns later, Naroa Weyr is still going strong with a large Hold. With also a Vintner's Hall and their own Healer Hall. There is a rumor that another Hold is lurking about in the Weyr's territory, but no one can seem to find it. The Weyrleadership changed four times before arriving at the present. And a new Goldrider pair awaits the ultimate change in their lives. The Weyr waits for the young Medilath's first mating flight to determine the next Weyrleader. Medilath's rider, Xoslyn, has mixed emotions about the flight. Though she is saddened by the death of her mentor, Parify and her gold Bireth.Characters Needed*(Needing/Taken)*DragonridersBronzeriders(5/0) Brownriders(5/0) Blueriders(7/0) Greenriders(9/0) Blackriders(2/0) Silverriders(2/0) Copperriders(3/0) Greyriders(4/0) Scarletriders(4/0) Albinoriders(1/1)TakenWherhandlersGold Wherhandlers(1/0) Bronze Wherhandlers(4/0) Brown Wherhandlers(5/0) Blue Wherhandlers(6/0) Green Wherhandlers(8/0) Black Wherhandlers(1/0) Silver Wherhandlers(1/0) Copper Wherhandlers(2/0) Grey Wherhandlers(3/0) Scarlet Wherhandlers(3/0) Albino Wherhandlers(1/0)WeyrfolkHeadwoman(1/0) Headwoman's Assistants(2/0) Head Cook(1/0) Cooks(4/0) Creche Workers(5/0) Landry Workers(6/0) Weyrbrats(10/0) Drudges(12/0) Weyrharper(1/0) Master Dragonhealer(2/0) Master Healer(2/0) Journeymen(5 each/0)(Dragon and Human) Apprentice(8 each/0)(Dragon and Human)
