Rhia waited until her Weyrwoman had finished speaking before turning to the gathering of Candidates and Weyrlings that made up her team. She spoke loud enough so that Aarora's team could hear her as well since they would have the same instructions, only the other side of the Weyr Bowl.
"We will be handling the cleaning of the Weyr Bowl and the lower weyrs that were flooded. We are going to be waiting for stonemasons to come to check on the structure of the Candidate and Weyrling Barracks. We think the structure might have been damaged. If it hasn't been, we will clean it up and move all of you back into your rightful places. Until then, the Weyrlings will be staying in two ground floor weyrs since it will be too much to ask of you to climb stairs every day and we can't have young dragons terrorizing the Lower Caverns workers. The Candidates will be staying in the Lower Caverns."
"We will take one half of the ground floor weyrs. The other team will take the other half. Then we will split the Bowl in half and clean it until we meet in the middle. If you can't pick something up without straining, ask for help! We don't need heroes or macho men trying to show off. You pull a muscle or strain something, that will not excuse you from helping or from class when we start back up."
"Have I made myself clear?" She studied her pupils seriously, waiting long enough for any questions to be voiced. "Let's get to work then. The sooner we start, the sooner we finish." Mneith waited until the other teams left and then glided down to start helping with the giant skybroom branches that were strewn everywhere. Some had even fallen on the fence for the herdbeast enclosure that kept the dragons' food in one place but they had been too afraid of the dragons to escape once the storm had finished.

Dicar listened intently to Rhia as she gave her orders. What a time for him to have come. Right in the middle of a clean-up that not only covered the whole weyr, but the holds that tithed to it. The candidate adjusted his cloth headband and wondered just what kind of luck he had.
Dicar nodded his head in response to Rhia's last question, showing he understood. He had no questions really. It was all self-explanitory. Clean some weyrs, then clean the bowl itself. Dicar began making his way with the other candidates and weyrlings present in this team to help clean out the ground floor weyrs. Rhia was right, the sooner they started, then the sooner this would be over. There was no sense in wasting time.

Marletta made her way to Rhia before the Weyrlingmaster began to speak. She shook her head when Rhia asked if there were any question. Now she knew exactly what they’d be cleaning up. The weyrling glanced about the Weyrbowl, it was quite a mess and looked like it would take awhile. The girl had never been made to clean much before so this was a big change. She supposed it was time to roll up her sleeved, figuratively for it was too hot to be wearing long sleeves, and help clean up her new home. Hopefully she wouldn't get any blisters or too gross today.

Z'ayr was on his way to meeting up with the other people in his group when a man stopped him, asking if he was some Sh'rel or T'ren. He quite honestly had no idea what this man was talking about and quickly said that he was a candidate. He looked behind him, and saw the stranger talking to someone else. Hopefully the right person this time. He shrugged his shoulders and skipped towards the rest of the group to listen carefully to what Rhia said.
Cleaning, cleaning and more cleaning it seemed. Z'ayr bit his cheeks to stop from letting out a long groan. He didn't like cleaning. Cleaning meant you had to get dirty and gross and sweaty. Z'ayr didn't do dirty, gross and sweaty. He did prim and proper. He rubbed his face and wished that he was somewhere else right now. He saw Dinayth come charging through, head held up high with a certain look of determination in his eye.
Mine! This place is a mess, nothing is in order! I even have dirt on me! Why are you slacking off, I need things clean! Dinayth roared for everyone to hear. The blue was prissier than a gold dragon it seemed. He liked things done properly and he liked them to be done in order. This chaos just irritated him, and he would make it known.
Z'ayr looked at the little blue with horror. Was he being lectured in front of everyone? His face turned red as he shuffled slightly and mumbled in a small voice, "Hi Dinayth. I see you're awake. We're trying to clean it up."
Not trying fast enough. I expect to see you busy all day long and I expect you to clean me. The pale blue fussed loudly, looking up at Z'ayr expectantly. He looked over at Rhia, and ignored any authority that she held over them. You have dirt under your nails. This time Z'ayr couldn't even hold back his groan. Did his dragon really just say this to the Candidate and Weyrlingmaster? Rhia did have dirt under her nails (Z'ayr noticed this) but he certainly wasn't going to say anything!

Mneith had just landed behind his rider, knowing that she would need help with the larger branches. He heard the proclamation of the little blue and snorted.
Rhia's face was amused when the little blue came charging in, fussing at his rider. She almost felt sorry for the young w'ling. She tried to bite back a grin but her face changed into a look of astonishment as he promptly proclaimed that she had dirt under her nails.
"Excuse me?" She said, incredulity in her voice. She was torn between lecturing the blue on manners and laughing outright. "I do believe that it is inappropriate, even though it is true. We can't all keep our nails clean when we are trying to clean up a Weyr torn apart by a hurricane." There was a strangled note in Rhia's voice. She was trying her hardest not to laugh. Then she made the mistake of looking at the blue's rider and burst out laughing.

L’der was completely groggy, rubbing his eyes with both of his fists. He came into the Weyrbowl with his arms stretching up above his head, his mouth hanging open due to an enormous yawn. He arched his back, a satisfied smirk building its way onto his face. “Well, that was quite a--,” he stopped dead in his tracks, eyes popped open wide as he observed the huge mass of people and dragons that were jamming up the Weyrbowl. “What’s up with the traffic jam? And why did the weather make such a mess?” He scoffed, placing a hand on his hip as he observed his surroundings, soon shaking his head in disapproval. At spotting Rhia giving out instructions he bounded on up to her, standing behind her quietly while she spoke, Mkinth was trudging along behind his rider just as sleepily.
L’der turned back to the dragonet and whispered: “What’s this about cleaning up? I guess with our not having been here that means we’re dismissed. Now we can make up for lost time.” The male green sadly knew exactly what his rider was talking about, which made him feel all the more ashamed; he was so used to L’der that he understood what he was saying even when he wasn’t outright saying anything. I’m far too young to fly after any female dragon, he announced, but then followed up with, though I suppose you’re right, it’s never too early to get ahead of the game. “See Mkinth, you’ve got the right attitude now. Oh how you’ll be the most desired dragon on all of Pern.” He turned back to Rhia just as she was finished speaking. He spun her around to face him, because he wasn’t usually interested in talking to peoples backsides, too it made it impossible to give them surprise kisses out of the blue.
“Rhia, oh my, I must say you look stunning today. No really, just stunning.” He took a step back, glimpsing her entire form. “Have you been using a new soap perhaps, or are you wearing a new outfit? Oh, no matter, bottom line is that you’re a doll.” He put an arm around her, pointing up to the sky overhead, “Do you see, sunny, isn’t it? Now, here’s my little theory. You can take it or leave it, but both Mkinth and I have discussed it,” the green grumbled, “and we both think it’s a grand idea.
“You and I, at the lake, relaxing and enjoying the view, eating some fruit, laughing it up like two old friends. After all, the logic is this.” He held out his free hand in front of her, holding up a finger for each reason. “I’ve come late, so there’s really no reason to have to disturb everyone else’s hard work to try and catch me up. Two, you’re a single woman, and you shouldn’t feel ashamed to want to get out and mingle. I tell you Rhia, I mingle like the best of ‘em, I’ll have you back up on that finger licking good chart in no time. And thirdly, we could both use a break; you and I are hard workers, right down to our very core. It’s in our blood Rhia, it really is, so let’s give our blood a break and take a day for ourselves. The others here will be just fine without you, yes? It’s me who really needs you Rhia, and you need me.”
You do realize she can probably outrun you?

It’s the thought that counts. Dinayth said rather simply in return to Rhia.
“Dinayth! Stop it. We can clean the Weyr first and then under our nails.” Z’ayr said with a rather horrified expression. He did glance at his nails however, and was quite happy to see that they were free of dirt. He also examined Dinayth closely and couldn’t spot a speck of dirt on him so what was the blue talking about? I can feel it on me. The blue grumbled with disgust, reading Z’ayr’s mind.
“I’m sorry.” He apologized to Rhia, his eyes wide with horror and sorrow. It was just his luck to get a fussy dragon. Dinayth was equally as fab as him, but he was so high maintenance that the weyrling wondered if it was possible to have a male dragon that liked other male dragons. Stranger things had happened at Dark Moon. He was about to apologize again and try to lecture Dinayth but soon L’der appeared, trying to charm his way into Rhia’s heart. Z’ayr cocked his head to the side as did Dinayth as they examined L’der.
“I like you.” Z’ayr said out loud to L’der, fully aware that there was two meanings behind what he said.

[Okay, I edited it enough. actually didn't need to change much xD]
Tanwen had already been in the bowl, and so as Christae had been announcing the groups she'd just walked over to where Rhia was standing. She was wearing a lighter outfit than usual to fight the heat of the day. Leather-strap sandals, brown cloth trousers that cut off just below her knee, and a deep blue sleeveless tunic that went to about thigh level. She also had a golden-yellow band of cloth tied around her hips.
After Rhia gave the rundown of what they would be doing, she gave a nod to show she'd heard it all. When Z'ayr had his little moment of embarrassment Tanwen smiled her grin-sort-of-smile and shook her head a bit. Of course, a moment later L'der had stepped over to Rhia and started putting on the charm, and at that point her smile disappeared and she rolled her eyes exasperatedly. "You're not late, dimglow." She said loudly enough so that L'der would be able to hear her. "We haven't even started cleaning yet. So get off your cloud of dreams and be ready to clean up this mess."
- - -
Vaelryn had stepped over to join the group at Christae's announcement of where everyone was as well. He'd only gotten there late the night before, and so hadn't really gotten a chance to meet anyone - though he'd made at least one friend, and had been able to speak to the weyrwoman and deliver the bottle of wine from his father. He listened as the instructions were given, giving a nod to show he'd heard. Then, catching sight of the one person he actually knew in the group, he started making his way over towards Z'ayr.
He'd made it just in time to hear him muttering to his dragon, but he wasn't quite sure what the muttering and lowering of his voice had to do with the apparent look of horror he'd had on his face a moment before. "Hallo there Z'ayr," he greeted the other boy. He might've gone on to ask some casual conversation question, but that was when Rhia spoke back to Z'ayr's dragon, and the bluerider weyrling looked a bit shocked - moreso than he had the night before when he'd tripped onto the floor. Vaelryn blinked once, then brought a hand up to ruffle at the back of his hair.
"Bad timin?" He asked, but it was just as he'd asked it that Z'ayr attention had switched over to the outspoken L'der, another weyrling that Vaelryn had (not surprisingly) not met yet.[/size]

Once K'rin had made sure every required for his transfer had been sorted and checked, he was ready to leave Fort Weyr. Well, double checked. And triple checked. Eventually, he was ready to go, albeit a little later in the day than he had initially intend. He had first planned to go at night because it seemed like a good idea at the time but he had had the impracticalities of that plan pointed out to him in great detail. Once both Dragon and Rider had their destination firmly in mind, they took to the air and disappeared to the cold between, never to see Fort ever again. Or at least for a little while.
The sight that greeted K'rin and Nynth when the appeared in the sky above Dark Moon was not one that he had expected. 'Shards, what's happened here? It looks like a hurricane has hit or something' K'rin muttered to himself as Nynth slowly descended in wide circles so that they could take in the full extent of the scene below. There were debris and branches and all sorts scattered but he could see the small figures of people milling around, presumably cleaning up. There weren't a huge amount of riders around he noted. He had arrived just in time to see a few disappear off somewhere. To other areas that were like this? Perhaps. As they neared the ground, K'rin spotted a Brown dragon, a couple of young dragons and a group of people. This must be a team of them working together, candidates and Weyrlings mainly? With a rider to oversee them... he thought to himself
~Let's land over there, by that brown.~ Brown? What Brown? K'rin couldn't even being to imagine what had preoccupied his Green's mind. He didn't really want to know either. Ohhh That Brown. What do you think happened here? Looks like there was a storm. OH! Or their could have been a HUGE battle with giant monsters! But if their had been a battle surely more of the Weyr itself would have been damaged? K'rin had to laugh as this rambling monologue about possible happenings continued.
Once his feet were firmly on the ground, K'rin covered the short distance between his preoccupied Green to the small group of people in a few long strides. By the generally jovial mood of the people he guessed that most of the damage was only superficial, which was always good.
He was a little surprised to see that the Browns rider was a woman, or at least he presumed that the female rider in charge was the rider of the Brown dragon. Female brown riders hadn't been that common a sight at Fort so he hadn't expected to see one at this smaller Weyr (not that he had actually thought about it). As one of the Weyrling blatantly hit on her, K'rin had to laugh.
"Greetings Rider, I'm K'rin of Green Nynth, we've just transferred her. Erm, I was wondering if you needed a hand at all?" His voice was alive with amusement as he took in all the various interactions of the people around him. K'rin thought that he just might like it here.

Rhia had just started to get over the shock of being lectured by a blue weyrling when she was spun around and manhandled by one of her charges. Her eyes widened with shock again, and then that shock turned to fury.
"I do believe one of the first lessons you Weyrlings will have with me is manners and appropriate behavior." She removed the lad's had from around her and deflt proceeded to knock his feet out from under him and pin him on the ground.
"There. Now you're dirty. No use wasting time going clean up because you're going to be out there sweating like the rest of us." The Weyr Bowl was filled with mud, and now L'der's front was covered in it.
"As far as you being late, I do believe Candidate Tanwen has pointed out that you are just in time to help with the work I'm sure we can use a strong lad like yourself in the hard work of scrubbing floors. We saved some just for you."
An unholy gleam of amusement entered the WLM's eyes. Oh he would learn the hard way that she may be a woman, but she was no pushover.
"You'd better cool your flirtatious ways boy. You may ride a green but women, and men, are off limits to all of you until you graduate. I suppose I will have to include that in your first lesson as well." She hauled L'der to his feet. "Now, don't make me sic Mneith on you."
She turned, inwardly mortified that a new greenrider had seen the entire spectacle. "K'rin and Nynth? Welcome to Dark Moon Weyr. I am Rhia, rider of brown Mneith, Candidate Master and Weyrling Master. My new assistant is Aarora of Green Rasth. We were just getting started. You may or may not have heard that this part of the Southern Continent was hit by a hurricane the day these lovelies hatched." She gestured towards the hatchlings. "Please excuse that display earlier. I haven't been able to teach them manners yet since the hatching was a day ago. We certainly won't say no to an extra pair of hands."

“Oh Tanwen, don’t be jealous of Rhia, I have room for you too,” L'der told the girl. It was all he was able to get out before his arm was roughly removed from Rhia’s shoulders. He sighed, putting a hand to his forehead, his eyes closed over. Before L'der knew it he was being knocked over; coughing, for he felt somewhat winded. He controlled Mkinth with calm thoughts, not wanting his dragon to try and correct matters. It’d only end-up messy otherwise; and he was now an official mess all on his own! I should’ve seen this coming, all the women just love to get me down on the ground. So eager, he thought to himself. Thankfully he hadn’t voiced his thoughts to the angered Weyrling Master. Her chastisement was going in one ear and out the other; because everyone knew with L’der’s ADD he could only ever focus on something he was interested in. So, while he heard her words, the meaning of them was completely lost on him, leaving him to create brand-new meanings! “Well sweaty women are a prize,” he said after being hauled to his feet. “What, men are off limits too? Well, now that’s unfair,” he teased. He leaned out to look to Z’ayr, grinning while he waved to his friend. “After all, it’s not fair to get Z’ayr’s hopes up like that, wouldn’t you agree? And really Weyrling Master Rhia, if you preferred your men so clad in dirt I would’ve gladly dropped to the ground myself, without help; though I suppose your generosity has me impressed.” He wiped some mud off of his cheek with a sleeve, his entire front coated, a few splatters here and there on his face too. “Sic Mneith on me?” He made a ‘tsk’ing sound with his tongue. “Now now Rhia, after you’ve taught us some wonderful life lessons, I’ll teach you the diseases one can pick up going outer species.”
He too hadn’t realized the Greenrider was standing there until Rhia greeted him. L’der reached right over Rhia, extending an arm to the Greenrider politely. “A fellow Greenrider, well, well, it’s an honour. I’m Journeyman Harper L’der, rider of Green Mkinth.” Mkinth bugled a greeting, his eyes whirring a lovely mixture of greens. The green dragon lightly butted L’der with his wedge-shaped head, getting some mud on his snout in the process. “Shove off Mkinth, your hide looks far more attractive without brown shades. Though I must say, you could likely disguise yourself as a brown if you rolled around a bit! Then I could be a double-rider. How convenient that would be.” He was smirking, despite the predicament he’d gotten himself into. Clearly bringing this boy’s spirits down was going to be a job and a half. Poor, poor Rhia. L’der flashed a wink at Z’ayr, nodding to the boy in mock flirtation.

Z’ayr looked up from Dinayth, an exasperated look on his face as he turned to Vaelryn. “Dinayth is embarrassing me, Vael.” Z’ayr whined loudly to his new friend. Why was it that everytime (Well, just two times) Vael found Z’ayr the boy was busy making himself look like a fool. Then again, this time wasn’t his fault. He doubted he would ever be able to get Dinayth to keep silent.
Dinayth watched with interest as L’der flirted with the Weyrling and Candidate Master. He gave a bellow of alarm when the boy was shoved to the ground, scrambling to get out of the way. Risk getting flying mud on his hide? Absolutely not. He didn’t even joke about those types of things. Hygiene and appearance was everything to the pale blue. Watch where you are falling! Dinayth demanded of L’der.
Z’ayr grinned at L’der as the boy directed some words at him. He cast a wink at the green rider and blew a kiss in the boys direction. “You’ll just have to wait all hot and bothered until we graduate from weyrlinghood before you can get me.” He had to wonder if L’der was bisexual. Then again, it seemed like the boy just liked to flirt in general. “Let’s switch L’der, dragonets I mean. Mkinth doesn’t mind getting dirty. That’s what I want!” Z’ayr said with a lopsided grin. Of course he would never give up Dinayth. The two were similar in personality. They both disliked getting dirty, but Dinayth just voiced this louder.

L'der's response to Tanwen brought another glare of venom from her, directed at the young greenrider. "You pompous little--" she stopped suddenly when Rhia knocked him onto his back. She blinked for a moment, but couldn't help but smile afterward. It seemed L'der was starting a trend with having girls knock him over in response to his advances; she'd done the same thing to him just the night before. She looked over to Rhia when the Weyrlingmaster spoke her name; the corner of her mouth turned up in a smile at the mention of what L'der's duties could be. "I'll make sure to save him the filthiest areas. After that," she of course meant him getting knocked in the mud, "he'll probably blend right in."
- - -
"Embarrassin ye?" Vaelryn asked of Z'ayr, smiling a bit and looking over to the blue. He shrugged. "Well, then it sounds te me as if the two of ye are gettin along great. I've never had a siblin meself, but that certainly sounds like that sort of relationship."
He looked over to the boy who'd been knocked over when Z'ayr shifted his attention to him, laughing a bit at the interaction between the two. He was definitely starting to like the way that it seemed the friendship dynamics worked here. Back at Araby he'd had a few closer friends that he was able to joke around quite nicely with, but for the most part they were just surface-level friendships, simply because he'd been spending so much time being trained by his father to take his place as head of the vintyr hall someday.

Christae approached the group. "Excuse me for interuppting Weyrlingmaster. I need to assign Greenrider K'rin to another team. It looks like I will be needing another hand to help with the injuries and I need to take Sorcha and Lirlith from Team D with P'rin and R'xis but I don't want to leave them short handed. We already planned for our clean up here to carry over into tomorrow so it shouldn't interrupt you too much."
She turned to the greenrider. "Welcome K'rin and Nynth. I am sorry to send you off just when you get here but we need your help with another team." She gestured to the hovering bronze.
"Bronzerider P'rin and brownrider R'xis would really benefit from your help. P'rin and Kilzanth are waiting to give you the coordinates. Brownrider R'xis and Ersith have already gone on to the Hold."

K'rin drew his eyes away from what was going on around him at the sound of someone approaching. He was a little surprised to see that it was the Weyr woman of Dark Moon, Christae. The greenrider nodded his head in aknowledgement and thanks for the welcome. "It is no problem at all" K'rin said with a smile "If I'm needed more else where then that's where I shall go." With small wave of farewell to those gathered he turned and headed over to where P'rin and Kilzanth were waiting, telling Nynth what was happening as he went. (OOC:gah, so bad *Blames cooking*)
