Christae had been woken up in the early hours of the morning by her dragon's emotions. Her dragon was pleased but she was also angry and afraid. That was not something Christae was used to feeling from her dragon so she got up to go investigate. Her dragon was clutching. By mid-morning the Queen had laid three eggs and showed no signs of stopping anytime soon. Kaith was glowering at any person who passed by the Hatching Cavern. Her look dared anyone to come in and disrupt her clutch. She was ready to attack. "Calm down Kaith. People are going to come in and look. N'kal will want to see the eggs and so will Rhia. She will want to know how many eggs to prepare the Candidates for." She had three eggs already on her sands and she was hovering possessively over them. No one would mess with her eggs. The Queen was getting meaner each time she clutched but Christae couldn't blame her. The last time she had relaxed around her clutch one of her eggs had been stolen. The Queen didn't remember the exact event but she knew that she needed to protect her eggs. Also, the Red Star was coming closer and the Queen sensed the danger. The first egg was a silvery green egg shot through with streaks of silver and green that faded and darkened as they ran along the shell. It almost looked like the egg was glass and the glass had splintered cracks running through the length of the egg.

N'kal made his way to the cave, marveling at the eggs on the sands already. Six of them, and each one beautiful and different. He smiled proudly up at Kaith, though he noted her demeanor. She was overly protective. But what queen wasn't on her clutching day? Simply acting her proper part to care for each egg. "They are beautiful, Kaith," he said, his voice already showing signs of getting better from his practice with the harper, although he still had a long way to go.
N'kal looked for Christae, his smile turning into a slight frown, "Is Kaith very angry with my presence?" he asked her as he made his way to her. "I am willing to leave until she is willing to permit me, but that silly bronze of mine is near begging entry. He can sense her unease, has anything happened in previous clutches?" he
asked, his voice concerned. No one had mentioned anything, but then again you didn't necessarily always mention such things to a newcomer, even if he was the Weyrleader. His voice was already beginning to show signs of emotions to those who spoke to him long enough, though before the harper there would be no difference in a plea or a command or even a yell. At this precise moment his voice was tender and soft. Not velvety, not entirely pleasant, but much better from the first day when he had awoken next to Christae and his throat could hardly even take him saying a full sentence.
OOC: I was assuming that this is at least a little time after the flight, lol, so I made him have some practice with the harper over his voice already. If you don't think enough time has passed, or if no harper ever saw to him, let me know so I can edit this, lol ^_^

The Queen was clutching, there were eggs! Eggs, Eggs, eggs! Immediately upon hearing those words Kallan had to go see it. This was his future bonded right? They needed to see each other right now and ..... well, after that didn't matter. He just needed to make his way over to the Hatching Sands now! With a broad smile he started hopping down the halls so he could get there faster. It didn't occur to the boy that a fast run would make him get faster than making diagonal leaps.
Poor boy, he ended up in the kitchens. He was so busy thinking about his wonderful dragon that his feet just ran him where they would. Well, he'd just have to pay more attention now so those dimglow Hatching Sands wouldn't move again. He set off again and managed to bump into someone.
"Would you watch where you're going," the female drudge spoke with gritted before mumbling, "It's bad enough there are going to be more of them."
Oblivious to her mood as only males could be, or maybe it was just Kallan's inattention, he smiled at her. "I'm sorry. I'm just so excited to see the eggs. There's gonna be like a hundred of 'em and I gotta go see them now so I can pick my dragon. I'm gonna get ..." He started mumbling, trying to pick a color he really wanted for himself. He wasn't sure of bronze, everyone wanted a bronze and he didn't want to be one of many, that'd just be boring eh? Blues were pretty but not big, he'd hate to fall off. Yeah, falling off was NOT on his list of things to do with a dragon. Maybe a brown? But riding on a mud colored thing, well at least he wouldn't have to worry about cleaning him! Yeppers that'd be fun. Well, maybe a mutie would be best. A, a, ummmm yellow? Well they were smaller than blues ....
"Excuse me"
Kallan glanced up at the drudge again and finally noticed she was carrying a whole of dishes into the kitchen. He'd been holding her up between tables and she'd been waiting on him to decide a dragon color. "Oh, I'm sorry. I'll tell you what color I want later. He backed up and let her through. So, uh, what color would you want if you were a Candidate?"
He started following her through the kitchen and getting a few glares, interspersed with a few knowing smiles. A growing boy had to be well-known to the Kitchen staff. Kallan firmly believed that, he'd done his best to remain well liked by them so he could get a few treats here and there. The female glared at him, "I don't want a dragon."
"Oh," That stumped Kallan for a few seconds as he stood there making others walk past him. "Wait!" He caught up to her as she started dumping them into the sink. "Why not?"
"Because," she whirled on him angry, "they're stupid and ... and just leave!" She hissed. "Go look at your shardin' little eggs and leave me alone. I'm sure one of your other dimglow friends will be more than happy to contemplate which of just FOUR colors you want. Especially when you don't even have a choice in the end. ... I do hope the Queen eats you for intruding into the Caverns, because Pern doesn't need another dimglow dragonrider."
Had she been less angry and frustrated Satnee might have felt bad for the way she had treated Kallan, especially after his little boy face fell at her words. Once she had finished speaking he left quickly. He sniffled as he left the Kitchens no longer quite so happy. She didn't have to be so mean, yea know, he only wanted to talk with someone. He sniffled again and turned to look into the Hatching Sands.
His sniffles died away, even though his face was still a little red when he saw the eggs. So pretty as they lay beneath the Queen. He'd thought nothing of it when she'd spoke of him being eaten, but now seeing the Queen over her eggs he wasn't sure she spoke only out of anger. He'd planned (using the word planning loosely) on getting closer and maybe touching the eggs, but one look at her posture and he wasn't sure he wanted to be in range of the Golden Giant.
He stood frozen at the entrance to the Hatching Sands, staring at the eggs. He'd tilted himself slightly every now and again to try to get a better look, but didn't move otherwise.

OOC: It is a while afterwards. I didn't want to jump to far ahead but this clutching was supposed to be since last month. Circumstances changed that though so I am kinda speeding things up. Your post is fine. IC: Kaith was just about to lay another egg when N'kal and another lad walked into the Hatching Sands. She growled at them and then ducked her head when her rider's voice called out in a scolding tone. "Stop that Kaith! No one wants to harm your eggs. N'kal certainly won't do anything because they are the children of his dragon just as much as they are yours. The lad is a Candidate who wants to stand for your eggs one day. He won't do anything either." She turned to the boy. "Just stay in the stands. Don't come onto the sand or she will try to bite your head off. She's just in one of her moods." She threw her hands up in frustration as Kaith snarled in the boy's direction. "Behave!" She turned to N'kal looking harried. "No she's not really angry with your presence, just everyone in general." She lowered her voice as Kaith began to lay another egg. "She had an egg stolen at her last clutch. The thief was caught and the egg returned just in the nick of time but the girl wound up impressing a dragon so there wasn't much we could do about it. The egg hatched out fine. In fact, you have met the dragon. The little yellow Rimith, bonded to Hasima. Kaith doesn't remember but she has this instinct that something could go wrong. Last time she had relaxed just once and the egg was stolen. The entire Weyr was in an uproar and the WL was gone most of the time and left me to deal with it. The girl had hidden well and wasn't found until the day of the hatching. Also the Red star is coming closer and all the dragons sense danger, especially the Queens. It makes them even more difficult, especially with a clutch." "Good job love!" She called out as the Queen dropped another egg to the sand. This one was covered with patches of different shades of brown and was quickly followed by another egg in varying shades of blue swirled around the egg. She caught a glimpse of a wedge-shaped head and remembered that Asuth was waiting outside. "Tell Asuth that he is more than welcome in here. He's about the only dragon she won't snap at right now. Maybe he can help calm her."

The moment permission was spoken for Asuth to enter the area the great bronze made his enterance, flapping his wings slowly so that he did not disrupt the sands and landing as near the golden queen as he could without getting in her way, crooning softly he spoke to her Beauty Queen, so many already? and Asuth was obviously filled with pride as he stood watching his queen clutch their eggs. He could sense her agitation and anger, her instinct to protect the eggs at all cost and once more crooned lovingly to her I shall help you watch the eggs, Kaith. I will bring you food, should you wish to stay with them. And I will stay with you for as long as you will allow, Beauty Queen.
N'kal frowned at the very thought of someone stealing an egg. He had heard of it happening, but had never been in such proximity to either the culprit or the victim. But given the circumstances he resolved to not make such instant accusations of people, believing himself to know their entire situation and judging them so. For he was leadership at the moment, and could not simply cast someone out for one crime, though the crime in this case could have been very grave indeed. But as he had seen Hasima and her happy yellow Rimith, although small and adorable, they seemed no different from any bonded pair.
As Kaith growled at the boy, and as she had even growled at him, he smiled at her tenderly. He knew that at the time when she could remember such happenings it must have been a horrifying shock, the experience probably leaving a lot of anger and mistrust in her. "Any queen is allowed her moods," he said with a gentle smile in her direction, though his eyes widened with the new pair of beautiful mottled eggs she clutched. How many more were to come? He couldn't help but wonder, had Asuth flown her well? He knew and believed that his dragon had, but he still was on edge to see the result of the pairing, excitement filling him, as well as pride, that his bronze Asuth had sired a clutch. His smile brightened, "Your eggs are very beautiful, golden Kaith," he praised the queen.

We will have many eggs and strong children. Kaith told her mate. Just stay out of my way and don't let anyone come near them.Christae grinned wryly. "They may be entitled to their moods but it doesn't make it any easier on their riders. You needn't worry about the thief. She explained her reasonings. They were warped to be sure but she actually had a reason I can understand. She and her dragon are doing fine, just graduated in fact. I was just glad that the egg hatched out a healthy dragon and did not suffer from being away from Kaith and the heat of the Hatching Sands for so long." The clutch was shaping out to be a nice sized one. So far there was no Queen egg but there was time yet and it was not unusual for a Queen to lay several clutches without a Queen egg and Kaith had already laid two Queens in her last two clutches. Christae had no idea as to whether or not her golden beauty would lay another Queen. "Last clutch I didn't know there was a Queen egg. She hid it from everyone, including me. I thought she was just being overprotective and secretive because of her eggs but all the while she was hiding Serinth's egg. What a surprise that was after all the drama of the missing egg." [/img]

[All right, I'm judging by Kallan's entrance that it's ok for candidates to show up? xD So I'm throwing one of my characters in. I'm kind of shying away from using Jil just yet, 'cause I don't know how the Role Call rp is gonna pan out or how that'll effect him, but I'll throw him in after if it looks like he'll fit.]
It hadn't taken long for news of the clutching to reach the Candidate Barracks. Khris had just been returning from finishing up his chores for the day, he'd been on his way back from delivering some herbs to the Healer's ward when the sound of excited chatter had greeted him. Like anyone else there he felt a spark of excitement roll through him. The boy took quick look over his cloths, making sure they weren't too filthy after walking through the wilderness; he decided they were clean enough and made a turn for the hatching sands.
When he came up to the edge of the doorway he slowed his pace considerably, stopping in his tracks entirely when the queen's warning went out to the bronze. He'd known before that you weren't supposed to get close to the queen when she had her eggs, but actually 'hearing' the words put a touch more danger into the warnings. He peered carefully over the edge of the doorway to survey the area and find a place to stand before entering; his gaze locked onto the clutch around the queen. They actually seemed to shimmer in the light, though he guessed that may have just been because they were freshly clutched. Khris allowed his eyes to wander over the eggs for a moment from where he stood by the door, but tore them away after that to look over towards the stands. There was already another candidate standing there; he let out a breath of releif, realizing he was actually dreading arriving first.
After another glance over towards where the queen lay, he made his way carefull through the doorway and towards the stands. As he walked he made sure to stay as close to the back wall as he could, stepping onto the bottom level of the stands and moving to stand by the barrier - he still kept close to the back wall, however. Content with his spot, Khris leaned forward with his elbows on the top of the barrier, looking over to the eggs once more. If this was all there was to the clutching - standing in silence and watching - he probably wouldn't stay for long; he'd just wanted to get a look, after all, and with the dragons talking with each other he wasn't sure he felt comfortable unintentionally eavesdropping.

Kallan cringed and threw his hands over his head when the Queen snarled. He fully expected to be eaten, then he heard a woman yelling at her. Who would yell at such a fearsome beast? Did they not fear death? He slowly brought his arms down as no fire ball went his way.
He opened one eye slowly and saw the Weyrwoman scolding her dragon and despite the situation smiled a little. He quickly wiped the smile off his face, didn't want the dragon taking offense. He'd thought she was beautiful before today, but now...well he still thought the Golden Queen was beautiful but she also looked bloodthirsty. He slowly make his way to the closest seat he could manage next to the door. All hopes of touching an egg gone. He'd do well just to watch.
He blinked when he noticed another stood nearby. He turned and smiled, "Hey, I'm Kallan. Who are you?" Not the most polite of interactions, but Kallan did have a certain blunt way of speaking at times. "Did you come to see the eggs? Well, I suppose you did, who would come here otherwise? Too hot. Anyway, I actually wanted to touch one, but I also don't want to die so I'm going to stay right here and see which one I'd like."

Khris looked over when the other candidate spoke up, offering a lopsided smile at the to-the-point introduction. "Name's Khris," he said. The boy nodded afterwards in reply, turning his gaze once more out to where the queen was protecting her clutch. He listened as the younger boy rabbled on for a short moment about why he was there and what he'd been hoping to do.
"I heard someone saying that Candidates can't touch the eggs until they've had enough time to harden," he said. The boy blinked then as he realized what the other had said at the end, looking over to Kallan. "Which one you'd like?" he asked. "You know, you don't really have a choice in the matter."
Khris looked back over towards the eggs once more. He hadn't imagined that dragon eggs would be quite so...brilliant. They looked like gems, very large gems. He smiled. "That's the best part, I think," he said. "If you do manage to impress, whatever dragon you're bonded with for life chooses you, out of all the other candidates there. Sometimes there can be fifty or more Candidates there, and the dragon chooses you. You're actually wanted by someone."

"Oh, well maybe that's why she is so protective. Makes sense really." He tapped a finger on his bottom lip while scrunching his nose and looking upwards. "Huh? What do you mean?" He looked towards the eggs, "Color or just which particular one in this bunch? 'Cause it's kinda hard to see them with Kaith looming over them. If she'd move over ... although I'm not gonna be the one to tell her to move, not uh, no siree."
He gazed at the eggs thinking on what Khris had said. Sure there were plenty of things he left up to chance, but another mind that was totally melded with him. A conscience he couldn't put down if he wanted to. A being that couldn't be tossed to the side when he wasn't interested anymore. While having a dragon was an honor and seemed awesome, he was just now struck with the realization that this dragon was for life. And he had nothing to do with that decision.
He shook his head slightly, "Just because the dragon wants you doesn't mean you'll get along." He glanced at Khris, "And what do you mean 'wanted by someone' Admin's Note:
Surely you have people already wanting to be around you? You could always get a girl and have the same feeling. Then again maybe you want a boy? And they can't hear your thoughts which might be a good thing. What if I was thinking of eating the last bit of pie and then they get to it before I do? Or I think of a great invention and they get the credit. Well, that'd be awful. Anyway, I still think I want a dragon, what about you?" He grinned at the other boy before turning back and watching what little bit of the eggs he could.

Khris looked over when Kallan spoke again, listening before speaking up himself. "I don't think there's ever been a dragon and rider who didn't get along," he said, turning his gaze once more down onto the eggs. "It's sort of like...having a family. I used to watch the families I stayed with. Some of them would fight with each other and get on each other's cases...but you could tell they really cared for each other. The siblings especially, but the parents were the same way." To the rest of the comment, he shook his head once more.
"I'm not looking for that sort of relationship." He looked over to Kallan. "If I were, I would be looking for a girl." Khris turned to look down onto the sands once more. "It's definitely not the same. What I meant was...Well, yes, I have some people. I...made a few friends since moving here. But I meant...to be really wanted by someone. You know, like a family member. Someone who'd do anything to protect you, and who you'd do anything to protect. Not someone who'd just protect you or care for you because you're there to do their work and you're there responsibility by law...someone who'd want to take care of you just because they want to."
Khris nodded then, smiling lopsidedly once more. "I definitely want to impress on a dragon. I just hope one of them thinks me fit enough to chose. I know everybody keeps telling me I'm a shoo-in because of..." He glanced over to Kallan, still not used to speaking openly about a fact he himself was still getting used to. Khris rolled his shoulders in a shrug. "Because of what I can hear, but I've gone through my life with people not caring whether or not I'd ever make it to the next Hold without being killed by a pack of canines once I left their house. I'm not used to having people befriend me just because they like my company, let alone used to the idea of some huge creature chosing to bond with me for life."
Khris realized how much he'd been talking, and gave a short somewhat nervous laugh. He brought a hand up to ruffle the hair on the back of his head. "Sorry," he said, "I don't usually talk this much."

The Queen was finally clutching! Kaiya couldn't have been more excited if she tried. She brushed through her hair quickly, trying not to pull too much, and then tried not to make a specticle of herself in crossing the Weyrbowl to get to the hatching sands. Really, she wanted to run. However, she settled for walking as fast as she could, getting there just a little out of breath. She got there and then stood there, holding her breath and staring at the sight of the eggs on the sands 'neath the Queen. "Oh shells...they're so lovely!" she exclaimed, trying not to say it too loudly, lest she startle the Queen and incur any wrath upon herself. She noted there were two other Candidates there that she recognized from lessons, and began breathing normally again as she looked back to the eggs. She couldn't believe that she would be standing for this very clutch. She was getting shivers down her spine just thinking about it!
~~~~~~
Tikal was up in the infirmary, working away on organizing jars of medicines when he got the news that Kaith was clutching. He asked permission to be excused, and then made his way to the hatching sands promptly. He stepped lightly on the hot sands, wondering how much hotter they would be through sandals and a white robe of the Candidates. He grimaced, even as he caught sight of the clutch. Then, he smiled and nodded to Kallen and Khris before turning back to try and count them. Seemed that there were already quite a few. He wondered which egg held which colors, for there wasn't really any telling just by looking. He imagined some of the largest held a bronze, or maybe a gold. He smiled, wondering if he would impress this time around, or perhaps not? Well, he wasn't too bothered by it, even if he did want to impress-he felt his partner was out there somewhere, just waiting for him.
~~~~~~
Kestrel spotted Khris before she even spotted anything else on the hatching sands. A familiar face put her more at ease with having come, so she wandered over to him in a sort of roundabout way, all the while watching the Queen on her eggs. How many were there? Was there a gold in there? Kestrel loved golds, no secrets there. However, she wouldn't have cared what she got. She'd consider herself lucky to get anything at all. She like everyone else, she bet, had a few fears of being left to stand while everyone else impressed. The idea didn't appeal to her much at all, and she hoped that wouldn't be the case. Some were of the belief that if you were left standing, you weren't good enough to be chosen. Others believed that your partner just wasn't in there-but would be in another clutch. Kestrel wasn't sure what she believed. Her best friend in the Weyr, Hasima, had impressed. She kind of wanted to, too. Being left standing wasn't exactly the nicest thing in the world. It left feelings of inadequacy and disappointment. She hated the thought that she might feel disappointed in that way-seemed kind of stupid, yet understandable. She finally reached Khris, and gave him a sort of half smile. The best most usually got from her was that. "Hey Khris," she said lightly, and then turned her attention to the eggs, before looking back at Khris once more. Her golden eyes were rather clouded with concern-why did the thought of standing keep coming up in her mind? Were others worried about it, too?
~~~~~~
Xyrion stayed at the edges of the hatching sands. He could see from here just fine, even count the eggs. He didn't really want to interact with anyone just right now anyhow. So might as well just make sure he could see, and leave it at that. The Queen was so big, he wondered if her clutch would have extra big dragons. He wanted to impress...a lot. Having a dragon would mean he'd have something or someone, for once. A dragon he could feel close to, and not have to worry about hiding his feelings or thoughts from, because the dragon would share them. At first, this idea had frightened him. Then he realized how much he actually wanted something like it, and now he yearned to impress in a way he couldn't even express in words. He didn't care if it was blue or bronze. He just wanted a dragon of his own. He inhaled sharply, shifting his stance a little as he leaned up against the walls of the huge cavern, and continued to watch the Queen and her eggs. How many there were he couldn't precisely say. He just wanted one, did it matter how many of the rest there were... Admin's Note:
~~~~~~
Raska walked across the sands in her usual care-or-less manner. She walked as close as she dared to the Queen, so that she had a clear as could be view withoutt coming so close that she might cause some sort of offense to that massive gold. Last thing she needed was her head bitten off-she highly doubted those without heads impressed! She was sure she'd impress, too. Likely gold, even. After all, if the dragons could sense things in people, they'd know she was tough and totally worth it. She could be a Weyrwoman, no problem! She smirked at this thought, imagining herself on the back of a massive gold like Kaith. How cool would that be? Answer: very. She glanced around at the other Candidates who'd also come to see, trying to put together pictures of what they'd all get. She wasn't having much luck, though, so she merely turned back to the clutch and the Queen. She was closer than anyone else, but she got they were all antsy about upsetting Miss Thang sitting on the eggs. Well, that was fine, but the dragon had a brain. It could probably tell if you meant harm, and since she didn't, and was standing right out in the open-unlike that guy in the back, who looked all shadowy and stuff!-she doubted Kaith would think anything of her. Which was good, because she was, of course, keeping a fair distance while getting a good look! She wondered if and when Tieler would show up. Her usual partner in whateverness was no where to be seen, so she'd just come herself. Waiting was a bore, after all.
~~~~~~
Rhiyo was so nervous. He had been warned not to get too close to the clutch, but to make sure he got a nice look. How could you do both? Were the eggs that big? He walked slowly into the sands, noting there were already other Candidates there. Well, then he wouldn't be Kaith's center of attention-that was good, right? But shouldn't he say hi instead of just standing there gawking at her eggs? That was polite, right? And dragons were smart, and they would understand him...at least that had been his experience. However, golds were special...could they read minds? He cringed a little at this thought, but he had nothing really to hide. He couldn't even remember his own past so even if Kaith did read his mind, maybe she'd just think he was an idiot or something. He frowned a little at this thought. How close was too close, because he wanted her to be able to hear him say 'hi' and all...he didn't even see Raska, who herself was keeping a respectful distance though closer than the rest. And so he went even closer than she did, not knowing how close 'too close' was. But he made sure he didn't come at Kaith from the side because he really, really didn't want her thinking he was sneaking up on her!
Too close might have been how close Rhiyo got. He was about ten feet away, in fact. He then called up, not knowing how loud he should talk to so big a dragon, "hello there, Queen Kaith. I-uh, just thought I should say hello, and thanks for letting us come see your clutch. It's really nice, your eggs are...pretty." Well, that was the only word for it. Now to see if she heard him okay? Well, they could talk, so she would maybe answer... Admin's Note:
Or something like that.
Kallan tapped his nose as he thought. This guy watched families? How odd. Then again, Kallan did end up finding out some interesting things by doing just that ... so perhaps he understood. Sad though, not to have a family. He might not have paid much attention to them, but he had family he could turn to. He smiled over to Khris, "You know, it's not only the dragon. Once you get one, you're part of the whole thing." Kallan gestured vaguely at the Gold with her eggs and then the Weyr Bowl. "You're a dragon rider, a wingman, a person with standing here, perhaps even a diplomat for ... I dunno Holds although who wants to do that? You'll have a bigger family than you can deal with then. And that's gonna be tough, what with having to find a room big enough for all those new siblings." He gave the other a lopsided grin.
He glanced around them as if fearing another would hear him before leaning in. "I'll tell ya a secret. That's not talking a lot. Not in my book anyway. And if it is you just tell me who said it and I'll show them what a real chatterbox is." He bounced on his feet for a second, "Wait, hear what? Are you like felines? I hear they can hear tunnel snakes from ... like forever away."
Khris nodded in agreement to being 'part of the whole thing', though he'd begun to understand that as soon as he'd arrived the first day. The whole issue with the wounded dragon had given him more social interaction and sense of being needed than he'd had in his entire life. He returned the grin with a wry smile of his own, blinking and looking over to the boy when he leaned in and spoke softly. The smile returned after he was finished, and Khris rolled his shoulders in a shrug. "Nobody told me it was. Guess I've just got a ways to go to get used to living with so many people."
The smile slipped away for a second when the boy asked about felines, and returned afterwards in the form of a nervous grin. "Ah...not exactly. That is cool, though." He thought for a moment, not wanting to sound ignorant on a subject that he was apparently a part of. "Well...I guess I was sort of 'part of the whole thing' as soon as I was searched; I get the feeling they're not letting me go anywhere." Not that that's such a bad thing, he thought before going on. "I'm what, I guess, they call a, eh...a 'hear all dragons'. Or a HAD? I think they shorten it to that sometimes. Sounds a bit weird, though, 'a had'. Anyway...yeah."
He shrugged again, offering up another awkward grin. Khris looked over in the other direction then when his name was called, blinking as he saw Kestrel and briefly wondering how long she'd been standing there, or how much of his spoken reverie she'd heard. But he smiled and lifted a hand to wave as she came closer. "Hey, Kess!" he greeted. "Great looking clutch, isn't it?" When she looked back at him again he caught the clouded look in her eyes, and he furrowed his brow a bit. "Something wrong?"
