Well, this was rather boring. Weren't there supposed to be dragons flying about, people yelling, and ... stuff? Weyrs were so supposed to be the thing to see. Thing again he'd just ridden on a dragon so maybe he should be content for the moment. He glanced up at the blue speck and waved as it disappeared Between. Such a nice person, even if he didn't talk much. Maybe all Searchriders were like that.
He glanced around, yep it was a lake surrounded by caves. He'd asked the guy to dump him off at the Lake so he could walk past everything else and get to know the place better. The rider, too bad he hadn't tried to learn his name, had quickly agreed and dropped him off as soon as the dragon landed and left quickly. this sadened Kallan, he had a whole lot more questions. He didn't remember any of the questions right now but he knew he had a few more.
He scratched his neck and licked his lips. Maybe he should have waited for someone to receive him? Was that the proper thing to do? Eh, someone was bound to find him eventually. I mean, if anything he could use Don Quiote to make them find him. He smiled, recalling the bronze. The flitt popped from Between chittering and swooping down on Kallan. He smiled and swatted playfully at the bronze. This resulted in the bag of his items being dropped and him chasing after the flitt. Somehow Quiote had gotten his sock and the sock was so important he forgot to report into someone like a proper Candidate.
(( I had discovered I hadn't posted in a long while so decided to bring in Kallan. ^^ ))

((OOC: Mind if I step in?))
IC:
P'rin dropped the sack of firestone he was carrying with a yelp as a chittering bronze flitt whirled around his head. The bronze dragonet at his side stared disdainfully at the miniature dragon.
You should have seen that one coming. The dragon's voice was filled with disdain.
How was I supposed to know a flitter would pop out and fly around my head? The Weyrling rider retorted back.
You have one. You know how they are. The dragon calmly replied back. P'rin held back a frustrated sigh.
You really need to work on your patience my chosen. Pale blue eyes met jewel-faceted, idly whirling green ones.
"You're a fine one to talk. Remember that I need to work on my patience when you want your breakfast tomorrow and I am trying to dress."
I never said I needed to work on my patience. The dragon responded glibly. A brown flitt appeared and landed on the rider's head. P'rin rolled his eyes and reached up to adjust one of his shoulder knots. He wore two sets of rank knots, a Weyrling and a Master Tanner.
"Falarn, get off my head. Shells and shards, between you and Kilzanth I don't know how I manage to keep my sanity." He glanced at the bronze flitt still hovering around. "Look Falarn, a new friend for you to play with. I wonder where your owner is little bronze."

(( OoC: 'Course not. ^^ ))
BiC:
"Hey! Hey you! Make him ... stop ... he's got ... my sock!" A slightly rumpled Kallan huffed as he ran towards the weyrling. He looked towards the bronze flitt who was hiding behind the boy and glared, "Going Between is cheating. Even if you give me a little picture." Quiote chirped to P'rin and landed on the boy's shoulder. The flitt tried to look as adorable as possible by nuzzling P'rin's throat.
Kallan jumped slightly in excitement, clapped his hands loudly together, "You have a baby dragon! By the first egg that's awesome. I just rode on one and it was so much bigger, even though it was a blue and this one's a bronze. Of course that one wasn't a baby, they can't fly."
He bent down and stared at the dragonet smiling, "What's his name? Wait!" He shoot up suddenly having to balance himself against the cave wall, "If that's a young dragon that means I missed the Hatching, doesn't it? I was looking forward to that, too. How was it? Was there a big Clutch? Were you a proper Candidate, I hear a lot of people try to sneak in their children and ... stuff."
It briefly occured to Kallan to introduce himself, but he could ask about that later. Finding out about dragons was way more interesting. After all, wasn't he supposed to be devoting himself to the study of dragons now? Quiote dropped the forgotten sock on the floor since neither of them wanted it now. The rest of the boy's items still sat by the Lake.
It leads a boy to wonder how many other baby dragons are wandering around on the ground. They would be easier to find since they weren't becoming specks in the sky. Perhaps wandering around for a while before reporting in was a good idea. Oh! Maybe he'd find some klah while he was at it. Couldn't do exploring without the basics, klah and a nice wedge of cheese at the least. While thinking Kallan's eyes wandered around the area, barely taking anything in.

Ooc|| Pahhhfect~ Thankyouuu
On the other side of the lake, the side that wasn't filled with sock stealing commotion, were what looked like two people lazily walking towards the water. One of them seemed to be flapping their arms, as if trying to prove that they could fly while the other seemed to titter at the spectacle that laid before their eyes. "I swear I'm telling you the truth Hasima. I flapped my arms like that one day and just took off of the ground." A loud voice said, lying with somewhat misplaced confidence. Akki lowered her arms, flicked hair out of her face and pointed up into the sky where a small blotch of blue was contently flying above them. "Just like that. It was a grand adventure." The blue rider said soberly as she nodded her head up and down. The girl beside her shook her head, black hair flying and almost whipping Akki in the face. "I don't believe you." Hasima said in her usual quiet face, a smile appearing on her face.
"Eh? What?" Akki said, turning to face her friend as she placed her hands on her hips and rocked back and forth on the balls of her feet. "Would I ever lie to you Hasima? Because I wouldn't.". The loud girl looked down at the ground, staring at the pale yellow dragonet that trotted faithfully with them. "You believe me right Rimith?" She inquired, only to get a coughing noise followed with a dragonic smile, showing that the dragon did not in fact believe her. As they approached the waters edge, Akki clucked her tongue loudly. "What's this then?" She asked, rather rhetorically as she pointed to a pile of someone's belongings. "Looks like someone left their stuff behind." Akki said with a grin as Hasima nodded, wondering silently who it belonged too.
Sit on it and see if it hatches. Ebbeth said for everyone to hear as he spiralled pointlessly above the ground.

OOC: sorry if my absence has stalled this topic
IC:
P'rin was startled by the appearance of the younger lad. A look of amusement replaced the annoyance in his blue eyes and a hint of a smile curved his lips as he listened to the newcomer's litany. He raised one dark eyebrow, waiting to see how long it would take the other lad to wind down and let him get a word in edgewise.
P'rin reached up and stroked the new flitt's head, receiving an indignantly jealous chirp from the brown flitt still perched on his head. P'rin used his other hand to shoo the creature from his head. Falarn promptly landed on Kilzanth's head and the dragon's eyes whirled with mild annoyance.
Little one if you value your tail you will get off of me.
"Behave Kilzanth. Falarn get off of him you silly beast." P'rin said goodnaturedly. "And as for you my fine little friend. I think your bonded would like his sock back. I hope you understand that I can't keep you around my throat because then Falarn would get jealous and I don't want to deal with a jealous flitt. Why don't you two go play?" He untangled the flitt from his neck and gently tossed him into the air.
P'rin laughed at the hoard of questions still left for him to answer. "First off my friend, I think introductions are in order. I am P'rin, Master Tanner and Weyrling rider of bronze Kilzanth." Kilzanth nodded gravely, extending his gloriously gold and brown speckled wings. The black tip of his tail twitched. "My flitt is Falarn. It is a pleasure to meet you ..." He paused, waiting for the other lad to give his name.
After he had provided his name, P'rin nodded. "There, now that the introductions are done, I will answer your questions." He pushed back a strand of hair that had fallen from the leather thong he used to keep his blue-black hair back.
"As for his name, I mentioned that already. He is Kilzanth. The Hatching was almost four sevendays ago, so yes, you missed it. There'll be more chances though. The Queens are laying clutches left and right. As to how was it...It was incredible and a bit frightening though. The Queen was in a fine fury because one of her eggs had been stolen. Luckily it was returned before it hatched and the dragonet found her Chosen. Kilzanth was almost the last one to hatch. I thought I was going to be left standing. I feel sorry for those who were left. There was even a Queen egg hidden underneath the sands. Kaith was worried about her Queen egg. It was a pretty big clutch and yes I was a proper Candidate. I think at least one from the stands Impressed, a drudge if I remember correctly."

Quiote chittered at P'rin in mock anger before trilling a few notes and dropping the sock over Kallan's head. The flitt then chirped at Falarn and circled him a few times before zooming off, hoping for a good time, his bonded obviously forgotten.
Kallan wrinkled his nose and got the sock off his head. Wasn't that mean, the sock could have been dirty. He sniffed it, well maybe it was dirty. He stuffed the sock in his pocket, you never know when you'll find the other one of the pair. When the pause came for his name he filled it up with as many words as possible, "Kallan, and are you sure he's a bronze? He's more than just bronze colored."
He smiled, he liked this guy, he actually took the time to answer questions. "Eggs stolen? Who would be wherry headed enough to still an egg? Queen egg? That sounds so exciting, I wish I had been there. Ah well, at least there is another if the Queens do lay so often." He bounced softly on the balls of his feet, he had known the Weyr would be a good choice. The Hold he'd been at was getting boring ... plus his mom had wanted him to start doing chores so it was the perfect time to leave.
His nose wrinkled, "But...if I don't have a dragon what am I gonna do in the weyr in the meantime?" His eyes lit up, "Can we explore it? Oooh! You and I could be the first to know the entire way around the Weyr! I'll be the WeyrMaster. The first one Pern has ever known." His stomach grumbled and he chuckled, "Although a snack would be good before we start. And some of my stuff....I think someone stole my things 'cause I can't find them." He started patting his torso and legs, "It's not in my pockets. P'rin! The thief has struck again, first the eggs, and then my things! Come," He grabbed P'rin's arm and dragged him back towards the Lake, "we have a mystery to solve!"

Falarn chirped back and nudged P'rin's cheek before flying off to find the other flitt. If flitts could talk the brown would have told the bronze. "Come on, I'll show you around." The pair vanished and P'rin turned back to Kallan.
"Nice to meet you Kallan." Kilzanth echoed his rider's sentiments. Kilzanth snorted at the notion that he wasn't a bronze. "He's a bronze. He has the temperament of one, that's for sure. He just has strange coloring. It seems that a lot of the dragonets from the last few clutches have strange colorings or mutations."
"Weyr gossip says that some girl from a secluded hold thought that if she could have a dragon she could rule her hold or something like that. Other versions say she was being mistreated. No one really knows what to believe. The Queen egg was safe. The Sr. Queen, Kaith, had hidden it so no one knew it was there, not even the WW. There was one girl left on the sands and she was so disappointed till the little Queen hatched and made a beeline for her."
"There is always something going on in the weyr. Candidates have chores that help them learn about the weyr and about dragons and classes as well to prepare them for the Hatching. Yes you can explore it." P'rin burst out laughing at the other lad's enthusiasm. "We can explore the kitchens first. They always have snacks for hungry weyr folk."
"Your things? I didn't see you come up with any. Maybe we should retrace your steps."

"Sit on it?" Akki repeated, and she couldn't help but wonder if that thing was an egg, what would come out of it? Maybe a new species? Maybe some type of bag-baby? The possibilities, were in fact, endless. She nudged the yellow rider with her elbow, "You sit on it Hasima. I'll tell you when it starts cracking and we can see what kinda of beastie will emerge on it." Hasima shook her head, black hair flying, there was no way she was about to sit on it. Even Rimith took a step back, half expecting Ebbeth or Akki to nudge her onto the item so she could sit on it.
Hasima held a hand over her eyes, shading herself from the light so she could see clearly as she looked around them. She couldn't really see anyone, so maybe someone had just left it behind because they no longer wanted to lug it around? Or maybe someone was just awfully forgetful and would be coming back for it eventually? Akki nudged the it slightly with her foot, "Well. What do we do know? Do we carry around and ask everyone if it's theirs? Or just leave it here?" The blue rider questioned. I guess I could help you guys out, since I am so ever great and kind. Ebbeth said soberly. There's some other people around, maybe it belongs to them. I say just wait. The blue offered, causing his rider to roll his eyes. "How come I got stuck with the conceited dragon?" She asked Hasima, who grinned. How come I got stuck with a disrespectful rider? Ebbeth shot back with a snicker.

"Yeah, ... yeah, we can find out where the footprint's lead and find that thief!" He continued to pull on P'rin's arm. "Look, look, I can see someone there! If we hurry we can catch the thief." He started to run towards the distant blob-y figures. It was a bad turn of luck for him that the sun was in his eyes but he could see the thief well enough. He dipped his head lower and pumped his arms to go faster, not wanting to let the thief to get away, it didn't occur to him that in a weyrbowl there really wasn't anywhere to go in the first place.
"Hraa!" He leaped atop one figure (Akki), just now figuring they were two girls and something yellow-ish in the corner of his eye. If finally registered about the time the tackle was through, "Oof ... Wait! You're girls, ... where's the thief then? We gotta...get...him." He was panting, not having much energy after the quick run to the lake after just running from it.

"Kallan! Wait!" P'rin yelled as his companion bolted for a familiar foursome standing near the lake. "That's not a thief that's..." He trailed off as the new lad tackled the bluerider. "Akki." He finished as he ran up. He was in a bit better shape than the candidate because of Weyrling training but the scorching heat of the afternoon sun had produced a layer of sweat on his tanned face. P'rin took his shirttail and wiped off the sweat.
"Sorry Akki, I couldn't stop him." P'rin smiled at Hasima. "Kallan, this is the weyr, we don't usually have theives. You probably left your bags here when you went to chase after your flitt and sock. Are those your bags?" The young bronzerider pointed towards the packs that were near Ebbeth.
"Akki, rider of blue Ebbeth, this is Kallan. He's a new Candidate. Kallan, this is Akki and her dragon Ebbeth." He turned towards his fellow Weyrling. "And this is Hasima, rider of yellow Rimith. Her Rimith hatched from the stolen egg I told you about. She's Kilzanth's sister."
Kilzanth had chosen not to run after the boys as they dashed across the Weyr Bowl. You know, with this heat you would be smarter not to run around like scared wherries. P'rin glared at his dragon as the bronze sauntered up to the group. Good day to you Ebbeth and your rider. The bronze greeted the blue and then turned to the little yellow who was still a good bit smaller than he was. He was growing quickly and would be a large bronze. Good day to you clutch-sister. I hope you and your rider are well. P'rin rolled his eyes at the bronze's prim and proper, almost haughty greeting, as if the dragon were disapproving of his rider's informal introductions.

"I wonder how you would make this hatch in the first place." Akki wondered out loud to the girl that stood beside her. "I mean, would you lie down on it? Or just crouch on top?" She asked, scrunching up her nose in thought. "Lying down would be more comfortable." Hasima offered with a weak smile, causing Akki to laugh at the image of the yellow rider just casually laying in top of this pack. She grinned at the girl, "Five marks if you lay on top of it.". However, the yellow rider didn't even have a chance to reply, because the next thing she knew Akki was laying on the ground.
Akki was about to make some good reasons why it was worth all five marks when she felt something crash into her, causing her to careen over and fall to the ground. Soon as she heard the word thieves, her hands shot up in the air as a sign of surrender. "I swear, we didn't do anything or see anything! The dragons will vouch for us!" She exclaimed as she looked at the boy who had just tackled her, not recongnizing him. Hasima didn't even know what to think of this entire situation, and let a small giggle escape from her lips. "We found those bags there, we didn't go around the Weyr and mug people, honest." The blue rider said soberly as she looked up to see P'rin standing above her.
"Ah, P'rin. Glad to see you again, mind you I wish you're warning came just a little bit sooner and I could have probably avoided lying on the ground all together. No hard feelings though, of course." She said as she took Hasima's hand, who helped pulled her up to her feet. Akki did an extravagant bow to Kallan, "Nice to meet you. You have a rather...over whelming personality, which I think is quite a good thing.". Hasima blushed slightly when it was mentioned that Rimith was from the stolen egg, not used to the extra attention if that's what you would call it, and nodded a sweet greeting.
Good day to you too Kilzanth. It seems that you are growing bigger and bigger every day. The blue commented. Soon I'll have to watch out for you because you'll be bigger than me. How unfair Ebbeth simpered with a fake sniff of disdain. The yellow dragon too had noticed that Kilzanth was seemingly growing each day, and noticed the fact that there was quite a noticeable size difference between the two of the,. Hello clutch-brother. I too hope that you find yourself and your rider doing well. Rimith replied politely with a dragonic grin.

Kallan sniffed, "Well you didn't mention a thief from before so the weyr kinda does have theives..." It was mostly a mutter and to save face for tackling someone who was obviously not the thief and potentially an important member of the Weyr. Being Kallan, though, he got over his embarrassment.
He slowly stood up and tried to dust himself off. He found out that it was rather hard to get some grass stains and smudged dirt out. Perhaps his mom would clean it? Well, she was still back at the Hold and didn't really know he'd left yet, although he had left that wonderful note for her to read. Perhaps drudges cleaned it? Hrmm, he could ask one and they might help. Yes, that would work serendipity. He smiled, serendipity would be his new word for the day. Wouldn't his harper be proud? Mmm, well maybe not HIS harper, the Hold's harper then. Ooo, it would be fun to be a harper ... although being tone deaf wouldn't be handy there...
It just occurred to him that Akki had spoken and perhaps needed a response. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to call you a thief, I mean, that'd be mean to accuse you of being one and you weren't. I know I wouldn't like it much." He smiled, "You two have dragons? Ooo, can I see?" He dipped a bow in returned grinning broadly, "It's nice to meet you too. I'm glad you like my personality, but I'd have to spend more time with you to know if I like yours as well. Right now you're kinda just the girl I tackled."
He did a small jump and spun slightly to face Hasima, "Hey! I didn't mean to ignore you. It's really nice to meet you too." He held out his hand for her to shake, "Your dragon was stolen? Must have been awful although you didn't know it was yours so it wasn't ... well it was bad. WOW!" He knelt down and examined the little yellow. "It's yellow." He breathed softly, his voice maybe for the first time in years hitting something resembling a whisper. He waggled his finger in front of the yellow almost as if he wanted to touch, but wasn't sure if she'd just turn into smoke if he did. He managed to stay still and silent for quite a few moments. Quite a feat, indeed.

"Sorry Akki. I didn't realize he was going to do that until it was almost too late." The bronzerider hid a grin under the cover of a yawn.
P'rin thought about that for a moment. "True but we seldom have thieves who steal newcomers's stuff. Akki probably just found it and was wondering who it was for."
I still have a ways to grow yet to be bigger than you Ebbeth and you will always be older.
P'rin raised an eyebrow at his dragon. Was there an underlying tone of mockery or was the sharding bronze actually being diplomatic and nice for once without lording it over everyone?
My rider complains about my size every day clutch-sister. He says there is getting to be too much of me to clean easily.
P'rin gave a half-shrug to Hasima. "I guess you are used to everyone having a fit over Rimith by now. I get a few comments with Kilzanth but he's not a mutant. She's looking really good Hasima."

The rider snapped her fingers, "Ahh, now look what happened. You managed to go and get yourself dirty almost right away. You'll have to get that cleaned, but don't ask me to do it.". She leaned in closer to the boy, her voice dropping to a conspiratory whisper, "I might make it worse. I might even manage to put a hole there.". She waved her hand, "Don't worry about it. One day I'll call you a thief, and we'll be even, deal?". Was it weird that she was around candidates and weyrlings more than anyone else? Should she be around riders more? She gave a mental shrug, this was a good way to make friends and everyone wanted more friends. "Well, I can't cover your eyes so of course you can see them." Akki said with a grin. She drummed her fingers along her jawline, "Not exactly the most flattering title I could be given I suppose. Hopefully you'll wind up liking my personality though, right?".
Hasima almost twitched as the boy spun quickly towards her and she slowly grasped his offered hand, giving it two small shakes with a small smile. She didn't know exactly what to say, since the boy had just said it himself. She didn't know that Rimith was in the egg that was stolen, but she was worried about it like everyone else in the Weyr. "I'm glad that Rimith made it back." She said softly, her cheeks turning a faint pink. The yellow dragon sniffed at the boys fingers for a moment, before pushing her head into his hand, crooning pleasantly.
"I won't lie P'rin, I probably wouldn't realize he was going to do that also." She confided in the bronze rider. She nodded in agreement with his statement, "We were discussing what kind of animal would hatch from it, if you want to know the dirty details.". Ebbeth gave a hearty laugh, I'm sure your tune will be changed once you are bigger Kilzanth. In no time you will be reminding me of my tiny stature compared to yours.. Rimith turned her head, looking over at the bronze and grinned dragonically, Soon there will be too much of you to clean easily. I guess being small is a good thing after all. Hasima grinned at P'rin, she had gotten a fair number of comments about Rimiths unusual color, but she still wasn't used to them. She was so used to Rimith now, she only saw the dragon as Rimith, and was always caught off guard at the 'What an interesting color!'s. "Thank you." She said softly, adding "Kilzanth is also looking good. He's definitely bigger."
