A loud sigh escaped the lips of Kira. She had just arrived at Darkmoon earlier in the day and was done unpacking. Now she lay on her cot, bored out of her mind. She was reading but the book she found uninteresting to her today. Isis was laying by her feet, curled up sleeping. It made it feel like a lazy day. Thinking such things, a yawn escaped her mouth as she quickly covered it. "I'm starting to think you have the right idea Isis. There's nothing of interest right now", she spoke to the sleeping feline.

Rhia finished with her class and sent them on their way. Today had been a short lesson on how to keep minor wounds clean and slathered with numbweed until it would heal. The W'lings were coming along nicely though some of them had caused a bit of trouble a few days ago.
The brownrider found a drudge waiting for her when she made her way to her office. Christae had left a message saying that there was a new Candidate for her to meet. Rhia thanked the drudge and sent him on his way. The girl had arrived earlier in the day but Rhia was busy with her class. Now she had the time to go and meet her new pupil. Perhaps one day she would be teaching the girl the art of dragon care.
Lean limbs carried her swiftly across the bowl to the Candidate Barracks. She entered the room and turned toward the girl's side. "Hello there" She said to the Candidate lying on her cot.
((just so you know...books arent that common..there are record hides...not all that many bound books so unless it was an heirloom or something like that or something she saved for months for she woulnt have it because they are expensive))

(Ok. It would make sense to the effect that the book was boring her, she's read it so many times)
Kira had just closed her eyes when she heard a voice. She opened them immediately and sat up on her cot. "Hello to you as well. Might I ask who you are?", she asked, wondering what the young woman wanted with her.

"I am Rhia, rider of brown Mneith. I am the Weyr's WLM. I am also temporary Candidate Master until our WW can appoint someone in my stead. It is my duty to make sure you are settled and know your way around the weyr. I will also be teaching you the things you will need to know as a Candidate before the next clutch. Also, as much as I dislike doing it, I delegate chores to the Candidates and W'lings."
"Our WW normally welcomes new people to the weyr personally but she is extremely busy at the moment and will not be able to come in person. So I will speak in her stead. Welcome to Dark Moon Weyr and I hope that you will be happy here."

"Ah I see. So you are a fill in until the Weyrwoman can find someone new. My name is Kira and I arrived earlier today. As far as chores go, I understand. Everyone has their duty, their job. A yawn escaped her lips. "Sorry about that. I guess this day is getting the better of me", she explained to the brownrider.

"I told WW Christae that it makes no difference if she appoints someone else or not but she insists that it is too much for one rider to handle to be both WLM and CM." She smiled. "It is a pleasure to meet you Kira. Where are you from? I was from a runner hold a few sevenday's journey from here."
"Well, I can see that you are tired. I will let you get some rest. Come find me if you need anything." The brownrider explained how to get to her office. "If you want someone to show you around let me know. Either I will show you myself or I will send one of the W'lings or drudges. I hope you like it here."

"Well taking on too many duties can ware out a good worker. It's a good idea to split the candidates and weyrlings between two different people. And I'm not tired so much as I am bored. The sky is grey, everything seems so quiet around here. I guess I'm a more active, social kind of person but the only ones I've seen to be social with are a few flying flitts here and there and the occasional busy drudge. Not much for conversation choices", she said to Rhia. Then realized she left out something. "Oh yeah. I come from a hold by the sea, a lovely place it is. The market place was always the busiest. I always tried to drag my brother along with me but he's such a bore. He never wants to go have any fun. I love him to death though, he's always been my support", she said then paused. "Oh sorry, guess I rambled a bit there. Ever since I've gotten here I've hardly spoken a word", she continued.
