"Good. I wouldn't want my pillow replaced with something stinky." Hali nodded her head. She leaned against the wall near her cot.

"Now I am glad to be sleeping on the female side of the barracks." Hasima said truthfully with a grin. "I rather not try to sleep only to find my bed sabotaged." She added with a small lopsided smile. She looked at Palin, cocked her head to the side and asked, "Who have you met in all? Just us?". Seems the shy Hasima was becoming not so shy. Or curiosity just go the better of the girl.

((Yipes! I missed this post completely! Sorry. lots of sorriness.))
"I met a group of crazy weyr people who swim in ice water in their clothing." Pilan said with a grin. "I know who to talk to to get a snack, and... Um, that is about it."

Ooc|| Don't worry x)
"That swim in their clothes? You must mean G'han, K'dan, Akki, and the others. She invited me along but I declined, that's must of been who you saw." She said, thinking about it before coming to the conclusion after a moment. "Now you know us?" She offered weakly, a small, and I do mean small, smile on her face.

((If its before the lake, I goofed. Sorry. I need more practice with fuzzy time, it confuses me easily.))
"Yes I do. And very glad to know you all." Pilan smiled back, he was very happy to see a more normal seeming girl then the one who'd pushed him in the water and Akki who had seemed ready to dunk him to near drowning with little provocation.
All the candidates looked like good people, which was a very good thing if they were going to spend more then a turn together.

"So you just got here?" Hali asked in a deep voice. "That is almost perfect timing. The hatching is going to be soon. Any later and you probably would have to wait for the next clutch." She explained.

"There was a dragon and rider who came to get a load of fresh fruit in exchange for some herd beast meat. The dragon was a search dragon, and I pretty much walked right up to him because its not often you get to see a dragon close up." Pilan shrugged. He did feel very lucky, and didn't see any downside to coming to the Weyr. If he didn't impress and went home, he'd have stories to tell for the rest of his life. If he did impress, well, life would probably never be boring again.
"I'll try to learn everything I should know quickly, I don't want to be a burden on you guys. I just hope I have enough time to get used to sleeping surrounded by stone!"

"That's lucky." Hasima said. She couldn't imagine walking up to a dragon like that, she was scared enough just standing in a line with other people. She smiled back at Pilan and said, "I'm glad to know you too.". Miss the hatching? Hasima couldn't picture any of the candidates not being here, it seemed wrong to have one missing.

Hali laughed. "If that isn't lucky then I don't know what is." She continued to smile as she looked at Pilan. "Don't worry, I am sure you will get used to eat. Besides, even if you are tired, I bet the excitment of the hatching will wake you up." She explained. "That or the burning sands that we have to walk on." Though it was sort of a joke, she wasn't kidding. She heard that the sands were really hot.

Kinest groaned a sent a pillow flying to the chattering group of people. They'd been talking and bringing him closer and closer to awake and it had finally woken him up. The wild, and currently grumpy, boy sat up in a twist of covers to glare at the three. ( I think there are three of you...heh) His hair was in total disarray and he didn't look terribly forocious as he was still a skinny little thing. His glaring was interupted by a large yawn and a little stretching and when he looked back in their direction it was a little more charitable. After all, Kinest couldn't expect to sleep the day away here. It wasn't like a tree in the forest.

"Ow." Hali's hand flew to her head as the pillow smacked her. It wasn't that it hurt, it was just a soft, fluffy pillow, but it had surprised her and saying ow was a natural reaction to getting hit in the head. She turned around to see who threw the pillow and who had groaned. She saw Kinest rolling in his sheets. She didn't realize that someone had been asleep. Actually, she just didn't expect for someone to be asleep at this time of day. She probably should have checked to see if someone was sleeping before inviting a 'girl' into the boy's barracks.
She faced the tired looking boy. "How long have you been asleep for?" She questioned curiously. "Did you even start on your chores?" She asked, reffering to the chores that all candidates were required to do to help out before they actually had a dragon.
((There are candidate chores, right? If not, then only pay attention to the first question she asked him.))

Kinest seemed surprised to see that he hit someone. Indeed he hadn't been aiming for anyone but just frustrated that he couldn't sleep the day away. The boy had spent the night wondering aimlessly and had gotten to bed late. He actually had missed a few days of Candidate chores here and there because of his late night wonderings.
He shrugged in response to his questions. They were still slightly bleary objects to his unawakened eyes. He stumbled over to the basin and splashed some cool water on his face. Feeling a little bit more charitable once fully awakened he ambled over to the beds they were near and settled on one. He didn't seem the least embarrassed that he had just messed up their conversation and hit someone but just curious as to why there was a gathering. After all if they woke him up he might as well figure out why they were there.

Hasima squeaked in surprise, and back up, here eyes wide as a pillow went flying. She didn't even notice there was someone sleeping here. Her hand fluttered to her chest as she tried to calm down, but still felt rather startled. A blush came to her face, turning her normally deathly white skin into a soft shade of pink.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to disturb you with talking so loudly." Hasima said, looking genuinely sorry. She felt a little awkward now, a girl being in the male candidate barracks. Especially since one of them was in the middle of sleeping. "Perhaps I should go?" She offered quietly. Apparently hanging out Akki didn't raise her confidence.

"No don't go! Or maybe we should all go?" Pilan had just found the other candidates, he didn't want them all disapearing on him if he could help it. He hoped he hadn't sounded too needy or lonely, the others were in the same boat as he was and didn't eed him to burden them.
"Maybe we could get a snack?" he offered. If he'd been up all night he wouldn't be very tolerant of people talking around him either. He probably would have woken up swearing at everyone and everhthing.

Kinest grumbled a bit before, "..doan hafta go..." could be heard amid the grumblings. He stratched and tousled his hair a bit into a semblance of order. He seemed a bit sorry he had been in such a bad mood and didn't want to ruin their conversation. Although he perked up at the mention of food, a nice warm snack wouldn't go amiss. It seemed the boy had fallen asleep in his regular clothes, and though tousled, could go around if they left.
After meeting the golden dragon and talking to her, he decided he liked the idea. Perhaps he'd try to get into more conversations. It was definately a bit more dull when no one knew you and you had no one to interact with. Although if he did get a dragonet he'd just play with it instead. He shrugged, putting the musings aside to look at the others. Now that he wasn't glaring, he looked quite amiable.

Hasima was ready to go if anyone requested it, but Pilan said not too and then offered the idea of going for a snack. Well, she was rather hungry that was for sure. She placed her hand on her stomach, grinned slightly and said slightly quietly, "I like that idea.". As soon as she finished her sentence, her stomach growled. "I like it alot apparently." She said, another blush rushing up to her face.

Hali laughed at Hasima's growling stomach. She covered her mouth and tried to stifle the laughter because she wasn't that great at keeping her voice deep when she did laugh. She stood up from her bed and looked at the others. "I think getting something to eat would be a good idea." Her own stomach rumbled. She rubbed the back of her head and turned a light shade of pink.

Hasima giggled slightly, so apparently she wasn't the only one who was hungry. Which was good, because she didn't want to sit in the caverns and eat while everyone watched her. That would be plain embarassing. "Shall we head down there then? Unless people don't want too of course." She said, not wanting to force everyone to go down to the lower caverns. Poor Hasima, she'd never gain any confidence it seemed.

"So we can go? I'm curious how the food is, and where the food is." It was still a strange new place for Pilan, but no longer a lonely one. "Is it fun to watch the riders while you eat? Do you get to hear the talk about dragons and fligh-uh stuff" he quickly tried to change the word, blushing a little.

"I'm up for it." Hasima said with a small smile, she was hungry. There was no point in denying it. She couldn't hold it back and a giggle came out of her and she said, "Watch them eat? They eat just like any other person really.". She thought about the next question and nodded and said quietly, "We don't have to really listen in on them to find stuff out. Most of the riders here, actually I think all of them, gladly talk to us.".
