Christae strode back and forth across the small space in front of the High Table in the Dining Cavern of the Weyr. Shadows under her eyes told a tale of sleepless nights. A mug of klah was on the table, the only thing keeping the WW awake.
She had called her wingleaders and anyone else who would want to help to solve the delimma of her son. Christae had sent a letter to Sh'iron asking that he return her son to her. She had been polite but her feelings on the matter were plain. She was furious with him for deserting his weyr and livid for his insult in implying that she was an unfit mother. She had run the letter by Uslanee and Rhia and they had both agreed that the letter was not offensive and was all that was needed.
Sh'iron hadn't bothered to reply. It had been two sevendays since the WL had resigned. The new W'lings were well into their lessons and the wings were adjusting to taking orders from the Sr. Queen. Christae flew with her own wing and also led the others. She knew enough to lead them and she consulted with her Wingleaders daily. She was worried about dissent among her wings but thus far, there had been no inkling of trouble. The weyr seemed to prefer her rule to Sh'iron's but Christae didn't want to relax her guard. She didn't want to be caught off guard if mutiny was brewing.
She wore her riding gear. Her riding jacket was thrown over the back of her chair. Her hair had been cropped shorter and fell even with her jawline. She didn't have time to deal with longer hair anymore. She was now shouldering the duties of WL as well as WW. After this meeting, the Weyr would be assembled for Thread drills. The klaxxon would sound. Christae wanted to see how well her people would respond. W'lings would have to be able to sack the firestone. The newest wing would be taking the place that would normally be held by Sr. W'lings because the only W'lings now could not yet fly. The wings would have to be assembled swiftly and in an orderly fashion and the weyrfolk would have to be ready to deal with the injuries. She would see how well her weyr would respond. The newest wing would also be dropping 'threads' over the heads of the wings after all had assembled and gone *between* to the spot Christae had picked to be the leading edge of Fall. Rhia would call out random names. Mneith would transfer those names to Kaith and those dragons would go *between* to the weyr as 'injured' dragons so that the Weyr would have to learn how to compensate for gaps in the wings.
But for now, Christae was worried with getting her child back. Rehan and Giana, Rhia's twins, kept asking where their playmate was. Christae wanted her son back desperately.

A blurry-eyed blue rider slowly entered the Dining Cavern, there was little bubbly and endless joy in her step at this moment. Akki was tired, even though she hadn't lost any sleep, but refused to nap to see if that would help despite Ebbeth asking her too. There was too much to be done, too much to be heard, she didn't want to waste time sleeping the days away. She couldn't even imagine what Christae felt right now, how much sleep she had lost over the days for she had much more to hear, to worry about then that blue rider.
Ebbeth had told her it wasn't necessary to go to the meeting, that she could ask someone to brief her later on and that way she could try to get better. But the girl had refused, she would not miss this meeting, no matter what. She wasn't a wingleader, but she would give up a turns sleep in order to help Christae get her child back. She had suggested one way to get him back, but it involved some violence, okay, a fair amount of violence and for the obvious reasons, it wasn't greeted with a smile. She bowed her head slightly to the Weyrwoman as a greeting once her vision was partially returned to her, and she could see more than a blur of skin colour. She stood quietly, a hard thing for her to do, hands clasped in front of her as she awaited the entrance of other riders and people.

R'zlin slipped into the room quietly, feet stepping lightly upon the stone floor as he strode toward the others. His brows raised slightly at the sight of the bluerider but he said nothing. As a bronzerider, it was R'zlin's duty to come to these meetings, even if he had not been officially placed in any sort of position. "R'zlin of bronze Riranyth, reporting for duty, Weyrwoman" He collected himself to give a salute, riding gloves and helmet in the crook of his arm. His hair was neatly done in a plait that fit tightly to his head, the remaining braid wound back up to fasten to the back of his head so as to stay out of the way. Yes, he was indeed ready for thread drills, but he was also ready for this meeting. A few documents were poking out of his riding helmet, random declarations of rights and regulations from the charter he had scribed to show the Weyrwoman.
*edit. Bluerider. Blooooo XD

Christae paused when Akki entered. A small smile flitted across the Queenrider's face. "Thank you for coming Akki." She told the bluerider with a grateful note in her voice. She knew that the bluerider was there just to support her. The WW walked to the bluerider and gave her a quick embrace. She gestured to the tray of warm sweetrolls and the pitcher of klah that the drudges had set out for the riders. "Help yourself." She told the other woman.
Christae resumed her pacing while waiting for the rest of her riders. She had summoned the few bronzeriders that the weyr had as well as the brownriders. They were her wingleaders an wingseconds. Her face was a bit startled when the bronzerider entered and formally addressed her.
"You will find that we do not stand on formality Bronzerider R'zlin. Our people are rather laidback." She smiled. "Thank you for your willingness to help. I apologize that you must see Dark Moon in a time when she is at her worst but I hope that you will not judge our weyr by the recent events."

"Ha. You know I wouldn't miss this meeting for the world Weyrwoman. I do ask that you apologize for what I look like though. I'm pretty sure I just scared the bronzerider." Akki said, with a grin and a snort of amusement as she saw the look on R'zlin's face as he saw her. She looked down at the food, grimaced and shook her head. Placing a hand on her stomach she said, almost forlornly but still jokingly, "I better not. I'm beginning to look like Ebbeth since I eat way too much.". I resent that. Ebbeth said for everyone to hear before continuing, this time just for the WeyrWoman's and her dragons ears, Weyrwoman Christae, please know that my rider and myself will do anything to help you out at this time, or any other time if you will accept it.
Akki nodded in agreement, as she tried to cover up a yawn that escaped her. She lifted her hand, dragging her fingers through her hair to tame it and get it back to it's normal state. After a few moments, she was satisfied with it and waited patiently for the new bronzerider and Christae to finish their conversation so she could properly introduce herself.
Ooc|| Short post :c Poor R'zlin, probably thinks Akki is a messy nutcase. Which she is, but that's not the point

T'rin jammed his riding helmet on his head, having already secured his riding gear.
You should eat something, Amparath said, you're hungry.
Later, this is more important, the bronzerider replied impatiently. Sh'iron had always grated on him and now was the chance to get back at him for his desertion and kidnapping.
I think you should calm down. She may not take you if you are upset like this.
I'll be as upset or as calm as I like, he snapped at his dragon, immediately regretting it. I'm sorry. This whole situation just makes me angry.
It is alright, Amparath replied, shifting under his riding straps. T'rin was finally ready and mounted, and the bronze dropped off the edge and glided down to the Weyrbowl. T'rin dismounted and entered the Weyr, finding his way to the Dining Caverns. He strode up to the High Table, bowing to Christae. "Good morning, Weyrwoman, I hope Kaith is faring well."
---------------
Uslanee made sure the proper tasks were delegated to the proper people, then lifted a rather heavy tray off of the table and carried it into the Dining Caverns. It was laden with a pot of klah, cuts of wherry and herdbeast, tubers, breads, and fruits for any hungry riders. She walked over to the table where Christae was and set it down. She lifted the pot of klah.
"A warm-up, Weyrwoman?" she asked kindly, knowing full well that it had been a while since Christae had gotten the klah currently in her mug.

"Kaith is as well as can be expected T'rin. I hope you and Amparath are also well." Her voice was weary though she tried to inject a bit of welcome into her tone.
Christae sent Uslanee a look of gratitude when the Headwoman came with fresh klah. "Thank you." The WW glanced at the tray of food. She was almost too tired to eat but she knew she needed to. She couldn't run her weyr if she was weak from lack of food. She took one of the fresh sweetrolls and began picking it off while waiting for the rest of the riders that would be coming to arrive.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rhia entered the cavern, also dressed in her riding leathers despite the blazing heat of the Southern Continent. She had sent her charges out to their chores first instead of holding their lesson. The chores wouldn't be done if they didn't do them now and the W'lings would be getting a very practical lesson today and she would see how her charges dealt with an emergency.
Miya slowly walked into the caverns with her head held high and back moderately straight, like always. She looked around and noticed that, besides Christae whom had called for this meeting, Akki and T'rin were here, along with a rider whom she did not recognize. That is R'zlin. He is a transferred blue-rider, newly arrived so it is okay that you don't know him. You should introduce yourself. Reinath suggested to her still stuck up rider. Though they were both getting better, Miya still had an attitude.
Maybe later, this doesn't seem to be the best time to make friends. Miya explained, though it was partially an excuse. She didn't really like meeting knew people, and if she could get away with postponing this, then she would. She knew she would still have to meet him later.
The Jr. Weyrwoman walked toward the Weyrwoman and could easily see that the woman was exhausted. "Good day, Weyrwoman. You seem tired, maybe some sleep would be good after the problem at hand has been dealt with." She suggested politely, bowing her head lightly as she was accustomed to. She then headed off to the table and grabbed a cup of Klah, along with a sweet roll. She continued to looked into the Klah as she nibbled on the little snack. She hated the tense feeling of the room. It was obvious most were tired. Even if there were only four others, everyone knew there was some problem.
***********************
Nira walked into the room. One could easily that she was worried. Nevertheless, the green-rider smiled to each other rider in turn and picked up a cup of Klah to sip on. She knew a little bit about the Weyrwoman's troubles. With Sh'iron gone, there was no Weyrleader, forcing the Weyrwoman to take up all of the chores. She had also knew that Sh'iron had took there son, and she felt horrible for the Weyrwoman. Her own mate had left the Weyr and she had felt horrible afterward. With Siarath's help she was feeling a bit better, but was still sad. Things were no doubt worse for the Weyrwoman, who had also lost her son.
