This had surely been one unforgettable night. R'xis and Ersith walked toward the lake, the both of them dead tired from having ran away from where the ceremonial feast was being held. R'xis fell to the grass, laying on his back. Tears streamed down his face, glad that no one was here to witness this. All he was thinking about was that first time he kissed Akki. He felt a lump form in his throat; swallowing it down uneasily. He loved that girl, did he ever! He stared up at the starry-night sky, wishing she was here beside him.
Ersith peered over her rider, bugling sadly. She leaned her head down to nudge some of the tears off of his face. She wouldn't leave him, even though the sparkling lake appeared ever so inviting. She laid down, extending her neck over his stomach. She closed her eyes over gently, head now resting on R'xis's stomach. She didn't talk, knowing that no words could take away the pain he was feeling. R'xis continued to cry, his sobs becoming louder, to his dismay. Ersith couldn't stand the wordless silence any longer. I love you Mine, she told him quietly. R'xis sniffled a few times, his voice muffled as he said aloud: "I love you too Ersith." R'xis head began to ache from crying and a pain beat in his chest uneasily. "I'm sorry for being so selfish, all I ever wanted was to impress and here I am acting like a gigantic baby when I now have you." Fists formed at his sides, showing his rage. No Mine, you are not being selfish. Akki was before me so I would not expect her to go away. I am jealous sometimes but I believe that everyone has a bit of jealousy inside of them, even if they hide it away. I see how much you care for Akki 'and' how much you care for me. Everything is okay in my eyes. R'xis extended a hand onto the dragonet's neck, laying with his dragonet in the silence once more-the only sound being that of his continuous sobs.

Ooc|| SAPPYEBBETHTIMEo:
Ebbeth knew what had happened, it had heard it through Akki's ears. Seen it through her eyes. Felt it as if he had been right there with her. He rumbled slightly from where he was, laying in his weyr. He knew she had to do what she did, she didn't want R'xis to break the rules, didn't want to get him trouble. Didn't want Ersith to get hurt. Shuffling so he was no longer laying down but standing, he pushed himself off of the ground and flew up into the air.
It was a quick flight, nothing long but it was long enough for him to enjoy the cool breeze that was slowly rolling in, taking over the warm temperature. It felt nice, he had to admit. Spotting the lake, he slowly began to descend in a spiral. And then before he knew it, he was on the ground, right near R'xis and Ersith, looking up into the sky with his eyes whirling contently.
She had to do it. You know that right? Ebbeth asked, turning his head down to face the new rider and his brown. He felt as if he needed to clear things up since when Akki had tried it was too late, that he was gone. It would have hurt her to see you get in trouble. Hurt her more than having to do that to you. She's seen what happens firsthand what would happen if Ersith got caught up in the middle of this. So have I. It's not pretty. We do not want that to happen. He said contently, shuffling his wings as he laid down beside them.

A gust of wind ruffled R'xis's blond hair. He looked over at Ebbeth as the blue joined them, wiping the tears from his face. He held his breath for an instant, it seemed easier that way not to cry. His cries soon subsided, which made him feel better in one sense. "I know," he replied to the blue. "I don't want to hurt Ersith, she's supposed to be the main one in my life, my top priority." Ersith crooned at his words, liking what she heard. She opened her eyes, raising them to Ebbeth, glad to be seeing him and hearing him at the same time. "I love her Ebbeth," he said, trusting the blue to understand. Ebbeth was a wise dragon, it being easy to see how he had impressed to Akki. "If she ends-up with someone else..." He bit his lip, trailing off. He stared up at the stars once more, wishing that he could ditch the rule. 'It's for Ersith's safety,' he kept on reminding himself. I know I am not the cause of your pain but at the same time I know you could be with Akki if it was not for me. No, you can not be blamed for any of this Ersith. You will always be someone constant in my life. Ersith rumbled amusedly, reassured. "I know I have Ersith but somehow I feel as if I need her to." R'xis turned his head to the side so he could look upon the dragon next to him. "Even if we had to wait for... you know." He blushed, choosing his words carefully. "As long as I could just be with her, know that no one can take her away from me? I'd be okay with that, no... I'd be perfect with that." He rolled his eyes, knowing that he wouldn't want 'nothing,' he'd just be careful not to have a lot of 'something.' He took deep cleansing breath's, hearing all the time that it helped. 'It really doesn't,' he thought to himself discouragingly, 'or at least not in this case.'

Kaith lifted her head after she spoke with her rider. She had seen through her rider's eyes as the boy's face fell and then became angry. He wasn't taking the situation in the right way. She hoped that she would be able to ease things. She did not want Christae to feel responsible for making this hatchling miserable.
Her jewel-faceted eyes scanned the weyr bowl and caught the glimmer of dragon eyes by the lake. Ebbeth, her clutch-brother was already there trying to comfort the lad. Her large wings stirred up a cloud of dust as she rose from the Weyr Bowl. It was a short flight but it would have been too far for her to walk across. She backwinged carefully a few feet away from the trio to make sure she didn't throw dust all over them. She slowly made her way to them, her golden hide gleaming in the moonlight.
All is not lost youngling. Her rich voice sounded in all of their heads. The rules are not there to hinder you or to make you miserable but in some cases they do. The rules are there to protect young hatchlings like my daughter and to prevent you from coming to grief. Yes, I know she is female. I would not be much of a Queen and mother if I did not know. My rider does not know, however, and I will not tell her out of respect for you.
She bent her neck so that her wedge-shaped head was near the W'ling pair. Ersith is young. She is impressionable. She is not old enough to understand the emotions coming from you R'xis. Love and sex can easily confuse her and can cause great mental damage to her. It could cause her to rise to mate when her body is not fully formed yet. There are all sorts of things that this could cause. That is why we stress so much on the rules. We do not want to see a young dragon hurt.
The great Queen paused for a moment. You are young. This may seem like the end of the world but it isn't. If your love for Akki is as strong as you think it is then it will last. Waiting will only make your relationship sweeter when you can finally be together. Your dragon always comes first, just as to us, our riders always come first. That is the way of the weyr. Most riders do not stay partnered forever. It is not how the Weyr works. When a dragon rises to mate, it is the best male that catches her. Personal preference does make a difference at times but not always. Ersith may rise to mate some day and you may find yourself in the arms of another rider. That is the way of the Weyr. It is not the end of the world and in most cases Weyrmates are understanding. You will have to learn to bend young R'xis or you will break. You and Akki may remain friends but believe me when I say that you will be too busy to worry about romance until after your W'linghood. Thread is coming and Dragons must fly when Thread is in the sky. You must be ready and training for Threadfall and your dragon must be the most important thing in your mind.

Ebbeth opened his mouth and yawned, the only sound coming from him was the sound of the air leaving his mouth while his tongue curled itself. She's not supposed to be R'xis. She should be, it's almost necessary if you want to have a good relationship with your gender confused dragon He shuffled his wings slightly, trying to get comfortable and added onto the boys sentence about her meeting someone else, If she meets someone else there is nothing you can do. That sounds rather blunt of me, but I speak the truth. If she meets someone else and is genuinely happy, then you in turn should be happy for her if you two are friends.
Upon hearing Ersith's words, the blue lowered his head as close to the brown as possible, opened his jaw and snapped it together, making a almost metallic sound with seemed rather frightening. I rather not make threats, but if you continue to blame yourself Ersith I will have no choice but to nip off that tail of yours Ebbeth said pleasantly, which seemed odd after his snapping gesture. People will take her away from you maybe, it's a large possibility but you can't fight them off forever R'xis. What if Akki didn't want them to be fought off? Would you risk your friendship for it?
Ebbeth lifted his head and turned to face the large Queen that had landed moments before. Greetings Queen Kaith. I want to compliment your hatching, it was very exciting to see. Especially the finish touch, with the hiding of the egg.
Ebbeth tossed his head slowly up and down, making a crude nodding gesture. She's right you know. She speaks the truth. We all have to be prepared for when Thread comes, and you can't have anything distract you when you are fighting it. It would prove quite dangerous. Forgive Akki for what she said at the feast, for she said what she had too, what the rules say she must say in turn. But now, the feast is supposed to be enjoyed by all. Forget what happened today, at least for now, and have fun.

R'xis listened to Ebbeth, feeling somewhat eased by his words. Akki and himself were friends, that's what was truly important. 'If I really do care about her, which I do, then I'll have to wait.' He looked over at Ersith, feeling proud that she had been by him this entire time. "Thank-you," he said to the brown, resting a hand on her hide. He turned back to Ebbeth, nodding a confirmation. "Everything you say Ebbeth is the truth, I understand what I have to do-how I have to... act." Ersith shrank back, hiding behind R'xis at Ebbeth's threat. Whether or not he had meant to be frightening he had indeed scared her. R'xis laughed at his trembling dragonet, scratching her eye ridges as to comfort her.
R'xis sat-up with a start, putting a hand over his heart at the sight of the Golden Queen Kaith. He had not expected her prescience, was she really that concerned for himself and Ersith? He gazed up at her in awe, dead focused on her words. His discomfort returned at her mentioning of how a sexual relationship would effect the brown. "I know Kaith, and I deeply appreciate your concern for Ersith and I." He bowed to her as best he could, smiling at her mention of knowing that Ersith was a female. "I don't care who knows," he said firmly. "I'm proud of Ersith despite her gender. Whether she's a male or a female... Ersith is still my dragonet." He knew that Kaith already likely knew that gender was of no importance, but he wanted her to know that he felt the same way about it. Ersith sat-up, glad to be fondled over by her clutch-mother, Ebbeth, and her rider. She crooned, feeling ever so special to be gaining so much attention. R'xis laughed again, his spirits lifting. He stared off to where the feast was still being held... 'I wonder if Akki's okay...' "I don't know what to do," he told the three dragon's aloud. He still couldn't believe that he was talking to them, he never would have expected this in his wildest dreams. "I'm not sure what to say to Akki, or of how I've made her feel... Should I just waltz in there like nothing was ever wrong? Just be her friend? I'm thinking that's what she needs, I know that's what I need. Ersith is my top priority and I feel ashamed to even call myself a dragonrider..." He turned to Ersith, his eyes reflecting loving affection. "I'm sorry," he apologized calmly. Ersith reached up, nuzzling the side of his face. All is well, all is well, you'll see, Ersith replied aloud. Her words came-out sounding almost like a chant.

Whoops Ebbeth said sheepishly as he watched Ersith shrink back. I didn't mean to scare you confused gender Ersith. But I couldn't have you blaming yourself. Ebbeth said pleasantly as he flicked his tail almost amusedly. If you know how to act, and know what to say for every tiny thing in this world, life will soon become boring. You don't have to think every little thing through you know, people would think that you died on the inside.
Ebbeth listened very carefully to R'xis' words, watched the boys actions very carefully. I could tell you what Akki is feeling right now. Ebbeth said, almost debating on whether or not he should. But life would be too easy then, and where's the fun in that? Besides, some answers you have to find out yourself. I can't help you here. That'd be cheating. And I'm sure my rider wouldn't appreciate it if I intruded in on her business anymore. Even though it is partly my business. Ebbeth said, deciding that he shouldn't tell the boy. Ebbeth huffed, rather angrily too. If you had a tail R'xis, I'd nip it off right now since you said that. You should never feel ashamed to call yourself a rider.

((Wolf I don't think you got the whole idea behind my plot with Ersith being a female...she was supposed to want to keep it a secret to surprise everyone when she rose for the first time lol))
IC:
Kaith nuzzled her daughter while listening to the lad she had chosen for her rider.
I know you will be proud of your dragon no matter what. That is the way of dragonriding. Do not be ashamed. You are a dragonrider through and through, otherwise my daughter would not have chosen you. We never choose wrong. Sometimes our riders need a nudge in the right direction but that is nothing.
Kaith's voice took on an amused tone. I think Akki is more concerned with getting you in trouble than anything else. You will see, things will work out. Now, I suggest you put your melancholy behind you young rider and return to the celebrations. The rules do not forbid you from speaking to her and dancing with her, just watch your emotions because we would not want Ersith to be harmed.
