Christae stood in the front of the Weyrling courtyard waiting for the Weyrlings to assemble in front of her. She had finally finished her assements of the Weyrlings with Sh'iron. It had taken a bit longer than normal because Kaith was still jealously guarding her eggs. The eggs would be hatching any day now and it was time to move the Senior Weyrlings out of the Barracks and into their own weyrs.
In her hand, Christae held the rank knots that she and Sh'iron would ceremoniously tie onto the new riders' shoulders as they assigned them to wings. She would present the riders with their knots while Sh'iron assigned the young riders to wings. Christae knew that she would have Reinath and Ruanth in her own wing but it was a small wing, even for a Queen's wing. There weren't any pregnant riders or injured riders as of yet that could't remain in the upper wings.

K'dan walked into the court, one of few weyrlings there apparently. When he saw the Weyrwoman he bowed to her, "Good day Weyrwoman Christae. I hope all is well with you and your queen. I hope the little one is in good health as well". He spoke curtiously to her. He looked around and waited for the other weyrlings to get there. Nike, Miya, T'rin. He had befriended T'rin when they were candidates but that seemed like awhile back. He hadn't even really noticed when T'rin came back or when he came, it was like gone one day, back the next. He hadn't really kept in much contact with anyone besides Nike of course. Maybe now that he was a rider things would be different, maybe he could keep in better contact with his friends this go round. Perhaps this was a way to start over, he hoped anyway. He shrugged the thought off and waited for the others to arrive.

T'rin put on his best, tailored clothes and spent a while trying vainly to tame his hair.
Give it up, said Amparath. You know it stays wild.
T'rin sighed. "I know. But it's our graduation, I want to look nice."
And you do. So stop worrying about it.
T'rin shook his head and finally gave up, going for a slightly ruffled look. He grabbed his knots, slipped them on, and walked out to the weyrling courtyard. There he saw K'dan, who he hadn't had a chance to talk to in a while, and Weyrwoman Christae. "K'dan," he said, nodding and smiling at the bluerider. When he reached Christae, he bowed and said, "Good day, Weyrwoman. I hope Kaith fares well with her eggs?"
Could have been my eggs... grumbled Amparath.
Would you shut up about that already? What's past is past and I'd rather not be weyrleader anyway. He didn't bother mentioning that Amparath, though the largest bronze of his clutch, would have lost to the full-grown Myranenth. Amparath would have let out a roar and started boasting. He'd done it before.

Miya sat in her room, running a brush through her silky, raven black hair. Her dark brown eyes looked through the looking glass. ((I think that is what they call it.)) Mine, hurry up or you will be the last one there. Reinath complained. I am almost done. Reinath, I am finally graduating. I will be the Jr. Weyrwoman and you will be the Jr. Queen. I want to look good. Miya explained. Is that why you actually volunteered to wash me yesterday? Reinath questioned. Exactly. Miya said simply.
Satisfied, she left her barrack and headed for the courtyard. Once their she bowed to the Christae. "Weyrwoman." She greeted simply, unlike the others. She then walked back and waited, away from K'dan and T'rin. She was so excited. She was actually going to become a Jr. Weyrwoman. She had always knew this would happen, but she was still so excited that it was.

Christae smiled. "Good day K'dan. Everything fares as well as can be expected. Chiron grows bigger every day and thank you for asking." She then turned to the young bronzerider and nodded in greeting. "Good day to you as well T'rin. The egg is still missing but other than that things have simmered down a bit. We can only hope that the egg is returned safely or found."
A few minutes later, Miya arrived. She was followed by a gleaming Reinath. Christae's face looked thoughtful. The pair had come a long way. The girl was still haughty, but one day that would help her. She had learned quickly and well and after the first few arguments had not swayed Christae during her training, Miya had learned to accept her word.
Christae walked up to the girl who would become her second in command today. "You have come a long way. Don't let it go to your head girl, but I am proud of you. Unless there is a further incident, I can see no reason why you should remain on probation. Congratulations Miya."

"You are most welcome Weyrwoman Christae. It's good to hear young Chiron is in good health. I'm sure he will grow up to have the strength and courage of his father and the wisdom and strong will of his mother", K'dan spoke and bowed again. He then turned to T'rin. "T'rin! How has it been going? I haven't gotten to see you around much", he responded to his friend. He looked over to see Miya away from all the others then Christae walking to her. He then turned around again to see if others were coming. "I wonder where the others are", he said to T'rin while looking about.

Christae waited a few more moments for the missing Weyrlings and then sighed. They would get a rather long lecture on responsibility and be Weyrlings for a few more sevendays but these Weyrlings didn't deserve to wait.
"I will get started now. The Weyrleader is absent so until he returns you will just drill as a separate wing. Miya step forward.
The Weyrwoman waited for the younger goldrider to step up. "From this day forth I declare that you are no longer a Weyrling. You and your dragon have met the requirements and have passed your classes. You are now a full rider. Furthermore, you have shown sufficient progress for me to name you Jr. Weyrwoman. Do you accept the responsibilities and duties that come with the position of Jr. Weyrwoman?

Miya nodded her head as Christae congratulated her. She waited patiently for more to arrive, but everyone seemed to have disappeared. She shrugged it off, as long as she graduated, she didn't care about the others.
As her name was called Miya stepped forward. For once, she really listened to what the Weyrwoman said. As the older queen-rider spoke a smile appeared on Miya's face. It was not her normal smirk, but a genuine smile. She was so glad that she was finally becoming a Jr. Weyrwoman. Mine, pay attention. Reinath snapped in Miya's head. The gold-rider snapped back to reality after temporarily drifting off. She listened to the rest that the Weyrwoman said. "I accept." Miya replied with pride. (Rhyme. Yay!)

T'rin said to K'dan, "I've been well, and I don't know where everyone is, but they're sure to get a lecture later." He stood and watched as Miya was promoted to full rider and Jr. Weyrwoman. She smiled, and T'rin couldn't help but smile with her, but he quickly stifled it. He waited his turn patiently, and wondered where on Pern the other weyrlings were.

"That's good to hear and yeah more than likely", he said, the last part with a bit of a frown. He would hate for Nike to be in any sort of trouble, then again it would be a bit understandable since she was with child. He noticed a smile on T'rin's face when Miya was given the rank Jr. Weyrwoman and she smiled. "Who knows maybe we will be congradulating you on being the new Jr. Weyrleader", K'dan whispered to T'rin with a bit of a smirk as he nudged him a little.

((technically there isn't a Jr. Weyrleader...there is only Junior Weyrwomen and the oldest one is THE Junior Weyrwoman))
Christae murmered loud enough for Miya to hear. "You have done well Miya, don't screw it up." The Weyrwoman ceremoniously slid the Weyrling knots off the younger goldrider's shoulder and slid the Jr. Weyrwoman's knots on her shoulder. "If you have problems tieing it again come to me. It is a pretty intricate knot and it took me a little while to learn my own." She smiled a genuine smile. "Congratulations." She said again and motioned for the girl to stand beside her on her left. Her right hand was reserved for the absent Weyrleader.
"K'dan, since Nike is not here, step forward."

T'rin's face darkened as K'dan made the comment that insinuated Amparath would catch Reinath when she flew, but he said nothing. He was relieved when Christae called the bluerider forward to promote him. He had hoped not to think about that certain topic today.

Miya looked at the Weyrwoman for a second. She was a bit shocked that Christae had just said that, but tried not to show a reaction. She bowed her head before stepping off to Christae's left. She turned to the blue-rider as his name was called.

(I know but K'dan was joking with him)
K'dan stepped forward, looking at Christae. Now he wondered what was next and he had to wonder just where Nike was. It would be really bad if she had the baby now. Yes that thought started to come to his mind and he started to worry....just a bit.

"K'dan of blue Hydrath. You and your blue have passed your Weyrling classes. You have been deemed fit to join a permanent wing by your WLM and now you will be presented with the knots befitting your rank. Do you accept the responsibilites and duties that come with being a full rider? Will you and your dragon fly when Thread is in the sky? Will you follow your Wingleader and Weyrleaders unquestioningly?"

"I accept all responsibilities and I am more than eager to fly the skies, protecting Pern from the menacing thread. I will follow my Wingleaders and Weyrleaders without question, all my trust and faith will be put in them", K'dan said, trying not to let excitement overcome him. Trying to remain in posture was difficult, this was such an exciting moment for him.

Christae nodded. She slid the bluerider's weyrling knots off his shoulder. "I hereby present you with the knots of a bluerider. You will be assigned to a permanent wing as soon as the Weyrleader returns" She slid the new knots on his shoulder. "Take your place beside the Junior Weyrwoman."
She waited until he had bowed and stepped back and then called T'rin forward. "T'rin of bronze Amparath, step forward."

T'rin took a deep breath before stepping before the Weyrwoman. He'd been waiting for this for a long time, it seemed. He was going to be a full rider. He glanced over at his fellow riders before bowing respectfully to Christae and waiting for her words.

Christae smiled at the young bronzerider. Who knows, perhaps one day, this young man would be Sh'iron's Wingsecond. She wasn't sure how the future would unfold at the moment.
"T'rin of bronze Amparath, you and your bronze have performed admirably in your classes. Are you ready to shed the mantle of Weyrlinghood and accept the responsibilities that come with being a full rider? Will you follow your Weyrleaders and your Wingleaders with unquestioning loyalty? Will you and your bronze fly when Thread is in the sky? Do you accept the duties that come with being a Dragonrider of Pern?"

OOC: So sorry. excitement of the Hatching and all. Belatedly, here it is.
IC: T'rin bowed partway and confirmed to Christae, "I am, I will, and I do, Weyrwoman!" His eyes were were bright and his voice jubilant, and subconsciously he had stuck out his chest and pulled back his shoulders. He had waited for this day since he'd Impressed, with dreams of chasing Thread peppering his thoughts.
