In the moonlight a figure danced. Not a dance that one would see in a great gathering or any organized function but a dance of celebration. The figure didn't think about it or even try to figure out what he was celebrating, maybe it was life or happiness but he didn't care. Being a creature of the wild and mainly of instinct he did what he felt like doing when he felt like it. And right now that meant dancing.
He danced as if he were the embodiment of wild unfettered and free. He had no worries, even his hand which would twinge every now and again, didn't bother him. To him all was well for he was free of everyone and everybody.
He had slipped out of the room someone had put him in late at night after he had chanced by a window and seen the huge glowing orb hanging in the sky. He had moved quietly until here he stood betwixt the trees under the moonlight.
He laughed with joy as he started jumping and running around in his version of dance somehow managing to not hit anything despite the fact that there was underbrush a plenty. He twirled, throwing his arms out barely missing a tree then leaped again over a fallen log. He dipped low, below a branch before coming up to a stop.
He stood stock still at the edge of the forest, facing the weyr. On a lone tree sat a strange bird like creature that tilted its head to study him. He took deep breaths as his body still felt the exertion of the dance but otherwise the boy stayed still and watched this bird.
The bird studied him for a few more moments before preening itself with its beak. Kinest smiled at it, watching the feathers move and moved forward himself to touch it. The bird made a noise and then silently winged away across the land. This began the dance anew as Kinest followed it until he lost it to the inky darkness. He continued to run across the cool grass in patterns that defied logic and thought, even as a light mist of rain started. His arms were held high as if he thought that he too could fly as the bird had. He tilted to the side and swerved once more thoroughly enjoying the night and all it was offering to him, its kindred spirit.
