The male part of the candidates was very empty. It seemed a little weird really. Lucian had just arrived at the Weyr, brought by a bluerider from his old Weyr.
The blond haired boy dumped his stuff on an empty bed before going to find people.
He had heard and seen many people as he had travelled through the Weyr so the lack of people here really did seem a little odd. But Lucian could here voices and headed towards the girls part of the barracks.
Lucian wasn't always really that sociable but seeing as he was now in a new place, he should make an effort. He was pleased to see that there were four people sat chatting from his spot by the enterence. Three girls and a guy. Seeing as there was a guy already there, it had to be okay for him to come in too, didn't it?
"Do you mind if I join you all? I'm Lucian and just arrived here." He said.

Jakel turned around as he heard a voice from the entrance. He saw another boy asking entrance, but Jakel didn't wait for one of the girl's to reply. "Come in. I am getting lonely with all these girls." Jakel laughed, barely able to keep himself from rolling off the side of the bed that he was sitting on.

With a quick smile, Lucian walked in and over to where everyone was sat. The other boy seemed to be rather cheery. "Oh surely these lovely ladies are wonderful company." Lucian said as he gave a small bow to each girl in turn before sitting down on an empty bed.
(Bah. Short >.<)

A blue flitter suddenly flew into the room. It started to fall as it seemed surprised by the fact there were actually people in here. It suddenly righted itself and flew around everyone chittering exictedly and in higher pitch tones. It would land on a person here or there for a few seconds looking in their eyes before taking off again and chittering loudly. It was a small, shiny, blue. So small in fact that it still seemed to be a baby and newly hatched. Which was apparent in it's odd flying abilities as it dipped and swerved about the room and people. It was a baby cerulean blue with small splotches of darker blue on its underside.

Kinest wandered the halls of the weyr before he heard a racket. It sounded like those loud flying beasts which still interested him so he headed in that direction. After a few wrong turns he ended up in the room seeing everyone. He almost headed out but then caught a flash of pretty blue and decided to stay a little while longer to watch it. He would be right at the outside of the doorway looking in at everyone ready to leave at a moment's notice if things turned bad.

Anassa turned to Jakel. "Only a green? Why does everyone slur greens? They are just as important as other dragons. You should see how useful the greens are at Fort Weyr. I never hear anyone sluring blues and they are just as small."
She turned when another boy walked in. "Hello there. I am Anassa. I came from the Harper Hall. I have been here for a couple of sevendays." She laughed at his comment about the lovely ladies. "Why thank you Lucian."
Anassa looked suprised when a blue flitt flew into the room, chittering. "Oh, he's cute and so tiny." She held her hand out to the cerulean blue creature. "It's ok little one."

Jakel laughed. "That is what I am saying. Dragons are amazing and they are so cool. Why does it matter if one is smaller or more numerous. Come on, it is a dragon." He put his hands out to emphasize what he was saying.

The little blue chittered happily and landed on the girl's hand for a few moments tilting its' head to stare at her. It then dipped it head a few times and lauched into another complicated swerves and swoops that seemed less design than happy accidents. It was amazing that the flitter didn't hit anything as many times as it came close to doing so.

Kinest continued to watch the group as they talked of bigger creatures like the one zooming around the room. He listened more closely as they talked of having one and he turned it over in his mind before shrugging it off. Most good things didn't happen to him by planning anyway so he didn't need to worry about it. He watched the flitt dive about the room and a small smile appeared on his face and he wondered, briefly, what it felt like to fly.
(( Just had to mention it. 300!! yay -dances- ))

Remi watched the small creature and held out a hand. She clucked her tongue a little. "Come on, I won't hurt you," She said softly. (( Can one of us impress the firelizard? ))

((Sorry the blue belongs to Sorcha. I know you can impress them when they hatch but I wonder if you really can impress a grown wild flitter... ))
The flitter twirled about and twaped into Remi's hand chittering loudly as if to say it were her fault. It flipped over and flapped its wings again and landed on her shoulder chittering in her ear for a moment before falling silent and breathing heavily.

Anassa held still as the creature landed on her hand. She let out a soft sound of disappointment when he lifted off again but was delighted by the antics of the little blue creature. "I wonder if he looks to a Candidate. The wild ones dont act like that. They scatter when anything that walks on two legs comes near them. The only time they come out is for mating flights when someone's gold rises to mate. The people at Fort are envious of us Southerners because we have so many flitt clutches hardening on the sands."
Anassa laughed when the flitt hit Remi's hand. "I think he's fussing you." Her eyes danced with amusement when the creature landed on the other girl's shoulder. "I wonder who his bonded is."

Remi watched the flitt on her shoulder and nodded. "I wonder as well. Your right, wild ones don't act like that," Remi said still watching the little blue flitt.

It then left her and started flying again. Whether it was wild or not it continued to careen through the room looking at everyone before landing on Jakel's head apparently exhausted again. The flitt didn't seem to have a whole lot of stamina yet. It peered around from its' vantage point and then chirped down to Jakel before remaining silent and still for a bit.

Seeing the loud flying creature finally fall silent and still Kinest moved forward a bit and tentavily reached out a finger and touched the flitt's hide before backing up quickly with a shy smile on his face. He held the hand he had touched the flitt with in his other hand and stared at it a moment before looking back up to the other's. Seeing as they hadn't turned their attention to him yet he relaxed again and settled against the doorframe but this time inside of it.

Anassa crinkled her nose up in a silent laugh as she watched the little flitt. She looked up and was suprised to see another boy in the doorway. "Oh, hello, sorry we didn't notice you before. Are you another Candidate? I am Anassa. How long have you been here?" Her voice was brightly cheerful.

Kinest smiled slightly in response to Anassa's smile then shrugged at her questions. He really wasn't sure why he was here. Wasn't too sure why the first guy had picked him up in the first place but he did conceed that it was easier living here. A bit easier to eat too. He looked as another said hello and dipped his head in greeting almost shyly. It seemed the boy still didn't like to speak too much despite the fact that he had been living with people for a while now. At least civilization had caught up with him hygiene wise. He smelled a lot better and his clothes actually looked decent for once.
