Nira lead Nike's grandparents back to the lower caverns. As she walked into the room she noticed Miya was still standing in the same spot as when they had left.
******************
Miya's green flitt appeared over her head from between. She perched on the goldrider's arm and the two looked into each other's eyes. Miya smiled and walked out, on her way back to her barracks.
*******************
Nira sighed. That weyrling was always getting into trouble. She walked over to an empty table and wrote something on a peice of parchment. It read:
Headwoman or Weyrwoman, I have new arrivals that are hoping to stay at the Weyr. I am waiting with them in the lower caverns. Please come as soon as you can. More information will be delivered upon arrival. P.S. Please reattach the letter to Lina's leg. -Nira, rider of green Siarath.
She tied the note to the queen's leg and urged the gold to deliver the message to the two woman.
Once Line went between, the greenrider turned back to the guests. "Please sit." She motioned towards the chairs as she stood up herself. "The Weyrwoman and Headwoman should be arriving momentairily. Would you like some Klah or a sweet roll perhaps?" She offered politly.

Christae woke from her nap when the little gold's chittering became too loud to ignore. Birinj was circling around her head making just as much noise as the gold. For a few moments Christae was a bit too sleepy to recognize the gold flitt.
Lina, Nira's gold flitter. Christae blinked and then sat up with a yawn. ~Kaith tell her to land so I can take the letter.~ The gold did as she was bid and Christae untied the letter from the firelizard's leg. She sighed. She had already met with the newcomers and had made certain that their rooms were ready. Nevertheless, she rose. The part about "More information will be delivered upon arrival," had caught her attention.
Christae reattached the letter to Lina's leg. She straightened out her sleep-ruffled clothes and made her way down the stairs of her weyr, glad once again that her position as Weyrwoman offered a weyr that had stairs down to the Weyr Bowl. Kaith was proddy and too cross to be bothered to ferry Christae up and down the stairs all the time. She entered the Lower Caverns and walked over to where Nira and the newcomers stood.
"You asked for me Nira?" She turned to her guests. "I have had rooms prepared for you. When you are ready I will have someone lead you to them so that you can get settled in." Birinj popped in, chittering. She mentally ordered the little bronze to be silent and he settled on her padded shoulder with an apologetic chirp.

Fallanora smiled and sat down, waiting for the Weyrwoman and Headwoman to come. Turing to Nike's other grandmother, she started talking. "Did you see those clothes that Nike was wearing? She needs new ones. Hopefully you can work with fabric too? I'm a Weaver, and a Talior. also, I think we should work on some things for her weyr. Oh, and a new dress for that Spring Gather at Boll. I know that Nevvanikea will be going there," The woman said with a nod. In her mind, she started sectching out a new dress from what she saw of Nike. Red, short, and easy to fly, and dance in.
When the Weyrwoman walked in, the woman rose and smiled. "Yes. Thank you Weyrwoman," She said with a nod of her head. "But we have another question. Could we live here in the Weyr? I mean, we do have enough skills that could help support the Weyr. I'm a Weaver and a talior, and Havena is a Smith. We could both help out in the Lower Caverens, and Havena can do anything that would be needed," She said quickly, and nodded. "Is it too much to ask for?"

Christae was waiting for an answer to Nira as to why she had been summoned when Fallanora began to ask her questions. Christae blinked, not comprehending what she was hearing at first.
"I would have to consult my weyrmate but I am certain it wouldn't be much trouble. We normally rely on Trading Caravans like the Lilincamps to supply us with the fabric and smithcraft items we need. It would be wonderful to have our own. We could still trade with the traders but we wouldn't have to spend as many marks." Christae looked thoughtful. She liked the idea and they could certainly work for their room and board. It wasn't as if the weyr was full to capacity. The newcomers could either stay in an empty weyr or in some of the empty rooms in the Lower Caverns.
"I have to speak with the Weyrleader about it but even if he refuses your request to live here you are welcome to remain as guests for a few sevendays and to visit when you wish." Christae didn't want to get the woman's hopes up only to have them dashed when she consulted her Weyrleader. She couldn't make a decision such as this without consulting him.

Fallanora nodded. "Yes, we thank you Weyrwoman for the chance that you are giving us. We promise that as long as we stay here, we will not be in the way, and try to help out as much as possible," The older woman said and stood up. Giving a little bow. After standing straight, she looked around the caverens, and of course, what the people were wearing. "Totally out of style! Those don't match! I do hope that I get to stay here, get some sense into these people," She murmered to herself.

Christae nodded solemnly in reply. "I will speak to Sh'iron as soon as possible and give you a reply." She bit back a laugh when the woman started fussing about the clothing the Weyrfolk were wearing. "We worry more about effeciency than style here Fallanora. We are a working people no matter what people think. Taking care of dragons is a full time job and few of us have time to worry about our clothing." Her mouth twitched as she tried to hold back her smile. Her voice did not betray her inner amusement. She had become accustomed to hiding her feelings to avoid alienating others.
Christae turned to the greenrider. "Nira, you called for me and mentioned further information. If it is important, speak to me now. If not, come to my office later. I will go to find Sh'iron to see if he agrees with letting them stay in the weyr to live. I know we could use our own Weaver and Tailor, not to mention a Smith." She waited patiently for a reply.

Nira snapped back. "My appolagies, Weyrwoman, I was talking with Siarath." She smiled slightly. "Fallnora has said pretty much all of it about staying. I am not sure how much you know about these people, no offense," she added, "They are Nike's grandparents. And her name isn't even Nike. It is Nevvanikea."Nira paused to allow Christae to absorb the information because she didn't know if Christae already knew this.
She then turned back to the group. "This is Fallanora and Havena." Nira noticed that Fallanora spoke more. "This is Carlona and Aiden." She finished the introduction with a smile.
