Nevvanikea walked back and forth from where she stood in her office in the caverens. She had asked G'han to meet her here. Why? Well it was a strange question, and she had to ask someone who knew about it all. All the other male riders wouldn't teach her, so she had to ask someone who knew.
G'han was the only person, other than Sh'iron, who knew how to fight. Well, her own grandfather was teaching her the skill of the blade, but what if she didn't have one, and she got into a fight? Of course, Ruanth would be there to help her. Same with Zim, and Crystal. But it was still a good skill to learn.
So far, Havena had taught her how to attack with her father's belt knife, and her mother's shoe dagger. The dagger that was Fallanora's, her mother's, and so on and so forth. Legend has it, that dagger was given to one of Ruathan blood. For Fallanora was born in Ruatha Hold, went to Southern Boll to learn Weaving, then met Havena there.
Zim and Crystal were perched on the back of Nike's chair, also waiting. On her wait, Nike proudly wore her father's belt knife. Old it was. But trusty. And tucked into her right boot was her dagger. Biting her lip, the Healer waited for the bronze rider to come. Would he teach her? Hopefully.

(heh ok nvm I get it now silly me ) G'han walked up to Nike and gave a bit of a confused look. "You wanted to see me about something", he asked her. Azure was perched on his shoulder and the bronze rider was wearing light clothes. He looked at her waiting to hear what this would be all about.

Nike looked up when G'han came in. "I know this might be a strange question, but it needs to be asked. And I think that you are the only person, other than Sh'iron, who can help me," The Healer paused, took a breath, and started talking again. "My granfather is teaching me how to fight with the blade, but I want you to teach me how to fight without one. I mean, if yoou don't want to, you don't have to. I'm just asking. I know that you have a lot to do with your duties, and your children, and you dragon," Nike said rrubbing her left arm with her right hand.

G'han gave a bit of a suprised look then gave a smile. "Well Nike I wouldn't mind training you at all. I do the same with K'dan, D'ran and even Miya has asked me to train her. You are welcome to do the same", he said to her. The blue flitt on his shoulder gave a chirp to be scratched and the bronzerider scratched his eyeridges. "Do you mean to start now or what?" he asked her, not knowing if she meant to start now or what.

Nike let out a happy sigh. Good, he didn't refuse her. Looking up at him, she smiled. "If you have time, I wouldn't mind starting now. I'm off of my duties, Ruanth is fed, and bathed, same with my firelizards. So I'm free," She said. All she had to do was change quickly. Get the outfit which Fallanor had made her for fighting with Havena. A short red dress with matching breeches to wear underneith. A leather holster was made to strap on her right thigh to hold her mother's dagger. She could wear it under any dress, or any tight pants. It was a good place to hold it.

"Oh sure thing. We can start now, if you need to change into anything different then go ahead. Even something as simple as that can make a difference in fighting", he said to her. "I will meet you out in the weyrbowl", he said to her and walked to the weyrbowl where he waited for her. He already had what he needed on thankfully. He sat and waited for her and played with Azure who always seemed to be in a playful mood, always getting himself into some mess or another.

Nike nodded, and ran to her barrack. Would she ever get her own weyr? The white rider shed her clothing, and took out her dagger, and fighting clothing. After she put on the short, mid-thigh length tight dress, and knee length breeches, she shoved her feet in her shoes. She took out the holster, and strapped it to her right thigh. Then she shove her dagger in it, and ran out to G'han, pulling up her hair. "Ready," She said.

He gave a smile to her and stood up. He shooed the playful flitt away and he perched himself on a nearby rock. "First thing is first. You need to stretch, every muscle has to be limber and ready. Otherwise if it tightens up on you and goes stiff then you are at the disadvantage. You want to make sure you are loosened up enough", he said to her. He himself began stretching and when he was done he looked at her waiting for her to finish. G'han folded his arms and cracked his neck from one side to another then stopped and was still again.

Nike nodded. She did the streaches that Havena had told her to do. She loosed up her back mucles, wrists, fingers, legs, and everything else. Once that was done, she looked up at the bronze rider. "Ready, and I'm not afraid to get hurt. Just don't break any bones," She said with a laugh. Hopefully her didging skills that her grandfather taught her will come in handy.
((I'm moving this to the Weyr Bowl.))

"Alright now I say we see just how good you are to begin with. You have to do one simple thing, hit me. You land a blow that's it", he said to her. "Oh and by the way no weapons will be used. My speciality is hand to hand combat", he stated briefly then gave a ready stance for her.

Nike nodded. The Healer took a breath. A calming breath that Havena taught her to do before any training session. Eyes were closed for a moment. Then she took a ready stance, and opened her eyes. "Study. Study is the first thing that one must do before one even thinks of fighting…" Havena's words came into her mind. Slowly, Nike started circling the bronze rider on the tips of her toes. Eyes studing him.

G'han closed his eyes momentarily allowing his other senses to work before opening his eyes and following her every move. He wasn't going to make it easy to hit him. She seemed to have a good strategy, circling him to throw him off where she would attack from, unlike when he would do this with the other weyrlings. They seemed to just go all out forward attack. He watched as she circled him and awaited her attack.

Nike took calming breaths. "…Muscle control is the major thing with blade fighting. One twitch of an arm or leg could be the end of you. Fighting with a blade takes a lot more with your mind then body. If you know the moves, then you really don't have to have the right body for it…" Havena whispered into her ear one training session down by the Lake Caspian. Ruanth had flown them down. It was a calming place to fight. Much better on her half. Only the firelizards and Ruanth as an aduence.
Nike watched him. Would he attack first? Or should she? It had been a month or so since Havena started teaching her. And during that time, she had learned a lot. A test would be needed. She thought. Her eyes looked for the best opening. Hard to do so, but she caught it. The Healer darted forward, making it look like she would strike, then she twirled around, and away from the bronze rider. Behind him. Eyes studing the whole time.

G'han watched Nike's every move. When she darted forward at him he began to crouch but she twirled around so G'han jumped to the side pushing off with one foot and allowing the other to land. He wouldn't very well stand still that would be too easy. G'han would not attack her, she would have to attack him. He would make her come to him. He gave another stance and awaited her next move.

Nike mentaly nodded. G'han was good. It would be hard to find a weakness. Her eyes looked over his form. She looked for any twitching muscle, or anything else that would give away a weak spot. "…Never attack without knowing what you are going into. It is very dangerous to attack someone that you know nothing about. Look for a weakness. If yu can't find one easily, make fake attacks on him. That will soon get him angry, and give away some weakspot…" Eyes closed for a heartbeat, then flased open. Eyes intent on G'han.

G'han looked at her, still no attack. He gave a mental smile knowing what she might try to do. She might try to draw him out for an attack exploit some weakness of his. He kept a calm composure and stayed focused his eyes would not leave her, he wanted to know every move she would make. All of his senses would be alert. He could wait her out and would.

The three sides od Nike melted together as she watched G'han. The anger of loosing Tirith, the strength of her Healer side, and the calmness of her normal side. The anger would fule the strength, and the calm would hide it. It seemed that a little fire was started deep within her eyes. Nike's green eyes spotted it. A weak spot. It was there, small, but there. But how to get it? Hard it would be to make sure it was open. A plan formed in her mind. Her face stayed calm, not giving anything up.

Nike seemed different now, like she figured something out. He couldn't exactly pinpoint what she was thinking but he would ready himself. He wanted to see what she had concocted in that head of hers. His foot slid to the side a bit to give him a sturdier stance, he also bent his knees a little so he would be able to move quickly if need be. She seemed to bide her time, formulating some kind of idea. Thinking was an intrigul part in fighting, especially hand to hand. It required using your body as a weapon, every move every muscle, every action had to be right. But it wasn't good to spend too much time thinking, because it also required you to be quick and sharp witted.

Kalie chirped as she appeared from between to land on Miya's shoulder. Tonu followed, landing on the other, chirping excitedly. Miya looked into Kalie's eyes, figuring that something was happening that the two flitts had discovered. Slowly images were transferred into her mind and she smiled. So, Nike was going to learn how to fight from G'han too. Well, now she wouldn't be the only female learning how to fight, though she had liked that fact.
Miya made her way down to the weyrbowl, where Kalie had shown the two were standing. As she approached she saw Nike circling G'han. She stood a bit off to the side to watch, wondering what the healer was doing. Miya normally attacked head on, not giving a strategy much thought.
After a minute or two she saw Nike change position as she lunged as the bronze-rider. Everything happened quickly but her eyes were able to catch the movements of Nike spinning to G'han backside and G'han quickly leaping out of the way. Though her face remained blank, her green and brown flitts reflected her feelings by chirping excitedly. A good battle was always interesting to watch.
But this interest quickly turned into impatience. The two were just standing there for was seemed like forever. Nike seemed to be examining G'han, and G'han was examining Nike. The two simply stared at each other, both waiting for their opponent to make the first move. The gold-rider held back a yawn, hoping that the action would start soon.

Dicer walked around the weyrbowl and at a distanced spotted the bronzerider. This would prove interesting. He hid himself making sure no one spotted him but that he had a good view of the fight. Interesting. They stare each other down and no movement. He would learn more about G'han from this.
