Character:
Name: V’ian (Vaw-N)
Gender: Male
Age: Currently Twenty Nine Turns
Orientation: Heterosexual
Rank: Bronzerider
Physical Description:
V’ian is a relatively taller man, standing at 6’1, which he was quite happy with because he was shorter when he was younger, and was sick of having to stand on his tiptoes and peer over heads in order to see. Both he and his sister took after their mom, for which they were eternally grateful for. V’ian shares the same blue eyes as his sibling and their hair is fairly close in color, though his is a bit darker than hers. V’ian’s locks are a bit on the shaggier side and recently he has started to grow a bit of a beard – much to the amusement of his sister.
His skin was a light tan color, he is naturally paler but since he is outside more often now (And after burning viciously a few times) he gradually became a darker shade. He had a few freckles on his face, which used to stand out quite a bit when he was pale, bit now just seem faded and only noticeable if you look quite closely. He was the usual dragonrider fit, a slightly bigger man but not in weight. He wasn’t all that muscular; he was just physical enough to be healthy and to carry all of his stuff when needed. People who were overly muscled tend to threaten him, and he almost felt the need to show off his ‘manliness’ which led to a fair number of bumps and bruises in his life time.
Really, V’ian was nothing special. He was just your typical guy. Some considered him to be good looking but there were certainly more attractive guys out there and he was aware of it. He was content with how he looked and that’s all that mattered, right?

Personality:
V’ian loves to have a sense of humor, and is always more then willing to crack out a cheesy pick up line just to start a conversation. He loves to laugh and hear jokes; spitting a few of his own (They were normally bad ones though). He’s generally a reliable guy, if you need help just come see him and he’ll be more than willing to lend a hand. He figures the more favors he does, the more people he will meet which was always a plus. He’s a laidback type of guy, but is efficient when it comes down to getting to work. It may take a second or two of prodding, but he does his work thoroughly and double checks it to make sure nothing went wrong. He tries to get along with as many people as possible, friends were far better than enemies.
He’s an approachable guy, a smile was normally on his face or he was laughing at something. He gives off no ‘threatening aura’, and it takes quite a bit to anger him. A joke or two at his expense won’t do anything to him, but if someone punched him in the face it’s obvious he would probably hit back. Not many people went around hitting him though. He’s a pretty intelligent fellow, all though he may not act like it when he’s relaxing, and can step up to the plate and become a leader if it is needed. He takes orders well, unless they’re against his morals, which is when he will speak up.
History:
V’ian was raised at Derth Hold, a smaller place where people had the tendency to smell like fish or leather. They weren’t exactly pleasant smells to have lingering around, but you got used to it pretty quickly. He lived with his mother, father and his younger sister, in his opinion it was the ideal family. His mother was always busying herself with the everyday chores, which his sister sometimes helped out with, and his father could be found happily working the day away. Things changed for him, though not right away, when his mother became sick, he and his father was aware of it but they were told not to tell Akkivahna because she was ‘too young to have to worry about me everyday’ as his mother put it. They kept it hidden well, the girl never found out and his mother continued with her motherly duties. The only change now was that V’ian paid more attention to his parent and constantly helped her out.
When he was twelve turns old, his mother’s body finally gave out and she passed away in her sleep. All though his father, Vahnn, was well aware of his wife’s ailing health, it was still a tough blow. Vahnn became warped afterwards; he no longer happily worked but instead yelled profanities all day long at anyone and everyone. He especially yelled at his daughter and son, screaming that they shouldn’t be having fun when their dear old mother was no longer with them. In his twisted vision he saw it fit that they should always mourn their lost parent and playing with the other hold children was not the way to mourn her. It became worse and worse everyday, the man was unbearable.
When V’ian was sixteen turns old, a rider came to look for potential candidates. The mans blue dragon pointed out V’ian, and the riders words of ‘Come along boy, you’re going to stand at the hatching’ was all he needed. He wanted nothing more to leave Derth behind; the small hold had become even more cramped with their father going mad. He felt guilty to leave his sister all alone, but he knew that she would understand (He knew that she too wanted to leave this place). He gathered his stuff, and left Derth behind without saying goodbye to his father, something he does not regret.
V’ian stood at the hatching, along with many other candidates who were all staring intensely at the eggs in front of them. One of the large eggs burst into a shower of egg shell before a decent sized bronze tumbled out. The bronze shook himself free of any excess egg and quickly made his way to Vi’an.
The dragonet nipped at V’ian and then very politely, Will you feed me, please? I am your Waeith.
V’ian nodded, astounded that he Impressed, and the two have been dragon and rider ever since. He took a leave of absence from his home at Igen to visit Dark Moon to see his sister and the Weyr that he has heard quite a bit about, it having a gold dragon almost as big as Ramoth herself. His visit to Dark Moon eventually turned into a transfer, where he spent the next little while. It was, he had to admit, strange going from such a large Weyr to a place that was so…close knit. It seemed that everyone knew everyone and it was rather cozy, to be honest. He didn’t regret his choice in transferring.
It wasn’t meant to last though. The Weyr fell and V’ian found himself back at Igen. He didn’t mind; the people he knew before were still there and welcomed him back. He wasn’t quite sure where his sister had went – she had been at Igen for a bit but he had heard that she was having issues and moved elsewhere. He hadn’t been able to get word from her and began to worry so when he heard about Dark Moon, he knew it was time to go back. Surely Akki would return; this was his best bet in finding her once more.
Dragon:
Bronze Waeith
Pronounced: Way-Th
Appearance:
Waeith is a bigger bronze, but there are a fair number of bronzes that are still bigger than him. He is a deeper bronze than some of the others. It’s a coppery color near the end of his snout, and on his neck ridges. His wing membranes are a darker bronze then the rest of his side, almost a black, and the same color is found in splotches at the end of his tail and legs. His underbelly is slightly lighter then the rest, and the same light bronze is also found underneath his snout, just a small dash of it like a birthmark.
Personality:
Waeith can be cocky like your typical bronze, and will brag of his accomplishments if somebody else starts it. Normally he’s pretty relaxed and easy going. He doesn’t have much of a temper and it will take quite a bit to get a rise out of him. He’s more of a blue or brown in terms of personality, he rather have a good time then point out his magnificence. Like his rider, he is a hard worker and can be a leader if it is needed. He’s more then willing to help out any dragon if they ask for it. He’s a curious bloke, and tends to get involved in conversations with a question of his. He likes to avoid conflict if possible, enjoying a relaxed atmosphere much more than one with hints of controversy stirring.
