Character:
Name: Viktu (Vic-too)
Male Name Abridge:
Gender: Male
Rank: Cook
Age: Currently Twenty Seven Turns
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Appearance:
He’s not especially tall, standing at 5’10 and has gotten used to a fair number of guys towering over him and this suited him just fine. In reality, he was the tallest one in his family – his sisters were barely 5’5, his mother the same and his father was only 5’8. In terms of height, they were rather ‘quaint’ looking. His hair is dirty blonde and slightly on the longer side, reaching his jawline. Viktu often gets harassed about this by the other cooks; claiming that his hair was going to go in the food (It hasn’t yet! At least, not to his knowledge). To keep them happy, every now and then he will loosely tie his hair up to keep his shaggy mane in proper order. He does spend majority of his time in the kitchen but spends the rest of it outdoors; he even has the tendency to fall asleep out there, so his skin isn’t pale but a light tan instead.
He has a strong jawline, often with a bit of scruff on it. It’s not an uncommon sight to see him with a little bit of growth on his chin though he will clean himself up for the fancier occasions (Or once it gets too long). He’s a slightly stockier man, but by no means ‘fat’. Yes, he does have a tendency to sample some of the goods that leave the kitchen but he’s a bit on the muscular side which makes up his build. His eyes are a simple brown – not a beautiful hazel or anything, just plain brown. Viktu is often seen with some sort of grin on his face, and often heard in the kitchens – whistling away as he cooks.
Like most cooks, his hands are rather calloused and cut up. When he first started cooking, he was rather clumsy and yes, he still is a bit on the accident prone side so his fingers have scars on them and often fresh cuts. Not that he minds, he likes to claim that it builds character! And that it shows off his manly side!
Because papercut-like scars are ohso manly, you see.
Personality:
Viktu was the type of fellow that most fathers tried to set their daughters up; that typical nice fellow. And then most daughters rebelled and went for the ‘bad guy’ type which probably explained why Viktu was still single. That and the fact that he rather cook than the girl.
He’s a fairly mellowed out man, rarely getting angry. At least, you won’t see him angry; he may spit in your food secretly but you’ll never know. He likes treating people the way he wants to be treated, with manners and a light amount of teasing just to make things fun. Plus he just generally dislikes seeing drudges being mistreated; those are his girls after all, the kitchen staff took care of one and another. The lad has gotten a reputation of being a flirt though he is blissfully unaware of this – he just likes talking to people, not realizing that a girl may think he likes her. He’s rather naïve in that aspect, you see. He likes being adventurous; especially in terms of food – he will often throw in random ingredients just to see what comes out. Sometimes it is good, sometimes it isn’t.
He’s a hard worker, mostly because he enjoys what he does. Viktu finds it exciting to be able to cook all day, what more could you want? He has a slight thing for organization and efficiency, often moving things around in the kitchen so he can move more smoothly. He avoids sleep for as long as he can, which is why he will sometimes fall asleep outside when it sneaks up on him. He works most of the day in the kitchen (He can sneak out for a little bit which is why he isn’t deathly pale) and likes to wander around at night, not wanting to sleep. Viktu is a fan of always moving around, he doesn’t like to sit still and the Weyr is always a different place at night which he enjoys.
The cook is a very charismatic person, he tends to talk with his hands – throwing them around as his words spill out. It’s hard to dislike the man though Viktu doesn’t have too many male friends. Girls like him because he treats them nicely but, unfortunately for him, quite a few males thinks it is a ploy to steal ‘their ladies’ and won’t talk to him much.
History:
Viktu has spent most of his life at the small Lokan Hold. His parents were both cooks so he was practically raised in the kitchens which may explain his love for cooking. There was no doubt that he would grow up to do the same as them, which was quite true. Soon as he was old enough, the boy was helping out – cooking his little heart out. His two sisters were drudges so the entire family was often together in the kitchens, helping each other out. His family life was ideal; perfection in his mind.
However, Viktu eventually needed some new scenery. The kitchen at Lokan was small and Viktu wanted to go somewhere where there would be more responsibilities for him. He left the hold when he was and travelled, searching for the ideal place. He rarely stayed long at these places; they just seemed to be lacking the thing that he was searching for. He finally landed at Caspian Hold and fell in love with it. It was bigger than Lokan and the kitchen seemed to be short-staffed; they were more than happy to give him the responsibilities that he had been hoping for. He loved everything about the Hold and was content with life there.
However, eventually the kitchen seemed to grow a bit too crowded over time and Viktu found himself needing somewhere bigger. He moved towards Dark Moon Weyr; while there were more people, the kitchens were far bigger. Soon he found himself letting hours blur together as he cooked, which he loved. There was nothing better than losing track of time and cooking everything your heart desired, in his opinion. Yes, he was very happy at Dark Moon.
That is, until the Weyr collapsed. It was heart wrenching to see; this place was his home and suddenly he had to leave once more and find a new kitchen. It broke his heart to pack his bags but what choice did he have? Viktu’s entire life was cooking and he couldn’t simply abandon it. He had to find a new kitchen, no matter how much it hurt. Once again the man found himself travelling to Holds and Weyrs, looking for a place to cook. It took a while but he eventually found one.
And her.
Oh yes, [i[her
[/i]. Vailea. His darling Vailea. Viktu never thought he would love anything more than cooking but he clearly had thought wrong. He adored everything about this girl; he loved that he towered over her, her green eyes, and the fact that she had been rather shy when they first met. He also loved the fact that she didn’t mind he wanted to cook her meals all the time. Oh yes, he was very happy where he was….but….part of him was still at Dark Moon. So when a rumor popped up that the Weyr was coming back, he knew what his decision was.Name: Viktu (Vic-too)

It nearly killed him, but the cook had to return to Dark Moon. It was his home. Everyone he met at the Weyr held a dear spot in his heart and he had to return if there was a chance that he would see them again. They were his family; he couldn’t simply abandon them without at least attempting to see that they would return also. He explained this to Vailea and within a few days set out back to his old Weyr.
He was excited to see his home, but a large part of him was still with Vail.[/center]
