Akki winced as she watched Ebbeth’s tail swing about, hitting a small tree. The roots seemed to stretch before snapping, the ground torn up as the tree was ripped from its home in the ground. It was rather sad to see, the defenseless tree stood no chance against a dragon.
An angry dragon, if you cared to be more specific.
It was her fault, really. Ebbeth had caught a glimpse of the ‘V’ that had been cut into her skin; nothing more than a scar now. He had asked about it and instead of immediately blocking him out from her mind, she thought back to the day when she got it and Ebbeth immediately knew all of the details. Details that she had worked carefully to keep hidden from him.
Being attacked by a renegade, having him cut his letter into her skin and saying he would be back for more. It was all stuff that the bluerider had been hoping Ebbeth would never find out about, but that was now impossible.
The medium sized blue had quickly turned into a beast, his claws and tail ripped at the trees that were around him. He would throw his head backwards and leave his jaws open. What would be an intimidating roar was nothing more than heavy breathing, but his rider could hear his trumpeting in her head. It caused the hair on the back of her neck to stand up; she hated hearing Ebbeth when he was angry like this.
The blonde haired girl stood away from the blue, being careful to watch out for snapping teeth and claws. She didn’t really have anything to say to him, he wouldn’t have listened anyways. It seemed easier to simply ride it out and let Ebbeth more or less freak out before trying to calm him down. Finally, the blue stopped. Branches and chunks of bark littered the ground around him; all had deep grooves on them from his claws. Akki laid her hand on the blue hide and offered the dragon a soft smile, which was ignored, “You’re going to scare the Weyrlings.”.
She had talked to a few of them and a small number seemed unnerved by the fact they had timed it. Seeing a dragon rip apart a small forest probably wouldn’t ease their minds.
