Kegin had been put in the infirmary with heavy injuries. He was lucky to be alive with the chest would. The knife had hit a bone which had saved his life but still he was fighting for his life. The renegade attack had only one target and still the fact remained he lived. Kegin was having a hard time breathing and he was never conscious for long. When he was awake he just starred up at the ceiling and at times wished the pain would go away.
Kegin moved his eyes and looked around the room. He wasn't able to move any other part of his body other then eyes. It just hurt to much. What was he going to do? Was he still going to stand the next time around. Since they saw him fight a Renegade would they allow him to stay? Was he too much of a risk to keep around? These questions kept coming to his mind. He needed to relax and heal. it would be nice if anyone spoke to him about what happened. Maybe help him when it came to dealing with the shock of a brother stabbing you. His mind was still racing. He was starting to lose his mind it seemed.

Sh'vian peeked around the corner at Kegin. My goodness, his injuries where bad. She took a deep breath and rounded the corner and approached his bedside, touched his hand.
"Hello, Kegin. It's Sh'vian. Put your mind at ease for now, dear one." she started to kiss his forehead. "It will be alright, my friend. Relax. Think about the lake and how wonderful and relaxing the water felt. The cool breeze in your hair. The sound of the treehoppers chattering to each other. Just like that day the first day we met. if it wasn't for you, i would have never relaxed."

Kegin didn't say anything. He didn't have any will to speak. There wasn't really anyone he wanted to talk to. It was a weird complexity. He wanted to talk about his brother but he didn't want to just talk. It was frustrating. He didn't feel like he could move still. He felt like his heart was stabbed and not the bone. He was lucky Rogin didn't try to break the blade inside him. Kegin only looked up at the ceiling or closed his eyes to rest.
When Sh'vian came in he moved his eyes to look. It seemed like she was kind of worried about him. The words seemed far away and not focused. What was she saying. Her face was oddly blurry. Was there tears in his eyes? Was he happy to see her or sad? Why hadn't any other of the people he knew come see him. Bissy hasn't come and it kind of disappointed him. Neither has that lad with the Canine. He was a nice guy. It would have been nice to have the visit from him.

Sh'vian WAS worried about him. She has a look that she hadn't had since she Impressed Diragyth. The look of genuine concern. Kegin encouraged her to relax and for that she was eternally grateful. She was Kegin's friend and maybe after this incident he would be more on guard next time. Kegin almost got himself killed this day.
She looked on with a protective, loving gaze. She would be there when he awoke. She had taken him under her wing. She wanted to protect him and keep him safe. She sighed and shook her head. "You are a stubborn bastard, aren't you?" he joked, not expecting him to answer.

Kegin wanted so much to make a smart remark but all he could manage was a tongue to slightly come out his mouth. He wanted to just relax and not have someone mocking him. He looked back into his ceiling and started counting odd things he could find. He wanted to move and get back to the chores of Candidacy but it was no use crying over something that takes time.
Kegin waited to see if Sh'vian tried saying a smart remark again but doubted she would. Why was she here? They didn't know each other well. the only time they really talked was at the lake when they took a swim. Since then he hadn't seen her before the attack.

I’m sorry! I didn’t mean too. I’m still not sure how it even happened, I swear. The blue’s voice was filled with concern and sincerity – something that was rather rare for him.
Akki’s lips twisted into some sort of snarl as she snorted, “I’m sure you didn’t mean to do it. We argue about who was making the bigger mess in the weyr and then bam! You cut me open!” The bluerider was clutching her forearm, a rather large and deep cut visible as blood seemed to seep out of it and in between her fingers as she tried to stop the blood. She wasn’t sure what had happened or even how it had happened; she was just as confused as Ebbeth.
Like stated before, the two had been arguing about the state of their weyr. Akki was convinced that Ebbeth was the cause of the mess while Ebbeth believed that Akki was. The blue had abruptly turned away from his rider and somehow, something whipped across Akki’s arm and cut the skin open. Both just stood there for a moment, trying to decipher what exactly caused it before Ebbeth told the girl to head to the infirmary – just to be safe. The bluerider grumbled, not wanting to leave the weyr for a cut but it continued to bleed for five minutes so she relented. She turned the corner to enter the infirmary but came to a sudden stop when Kegin and the greenrider came into her view.
“Ah! Sorry, didn’t mean to interrupt.” Akki blinked, offering an apologetic half smile. No one was talking but it still seemed like Akki was intruding on some private moment the two were sharing. She glanced at Kegin, offering him a sympathetic half smile. The lad was in rough shape, there was no denying that. She bit down hard on the inside of her cheek. She was growing tired of these renegade kids; her patience had worn thin a long time ago. Next time she saw one of them, Ebbeth would be at her side – the dragon had made it clear that he was going to get involved.
Ooc|| Hope you kids don’t mind interruptions :c Feel free to kick me out~

Kegin was surprised to hear Akki's voice. His eyes moved thought his head didn't. He wanted to talk to her as they once did before the hatching. She was a rather calming presence to him. He wanted to say anything to her but instead he gasped in pain. Kegin was tired of this going on. What was going to happen next? Was he going to die or just remain pathetic? "A-A..." he tried but failed. Everything came as a croak.
Kegin could only do a slight smile as his eyes looked at her. Akki was injured and frowned. He didn't like the idea of her hurt. Was Veran the reason? Was she hurt during the attack? He knew she must have hated him since the attack. He was the target and he was the reason the mess happened. Of course she hated him, like any else in the weyr. Kegin was going to be labeled a fool, not a hero or not even brave. Just a fool. That depressed him. None knew how hard he fought for his life.
ooc: please join us. Maybe she might get Kegin to want to talk.

At seeing Kegin gasp in pain, most women’s motherly instincts would kick in and they would try to soothe the lad, telling him to rest and such. Akki did not have these motherly instincts. She wanted to punch him in the shoulder and tell him to heal up already – there was nothing fun about lying in bed. It took all her self control (What little of it she actually possessed) to keep her hands at her side. She pursed her lips slightly and placed her knuckles on her hips, “I hope you were trying to say my name and not trying to make fun of me or something.” She felt a trickle run down her arm; she had let go of the cut and blood was beginning to get everywhere. She rolled her eyes, “Ebbeth cut me somehow. However, my battle wound doesn’t look like much compared to your ones.”
She perched herself on an empty cot, lifting her knees to her chest as she looked at Kegin. “They sure did a number on you, huh?”. A rhetorical question for the answer was quite obvious. “I’ll castrate them all next time.” The bluerider promised solemnly.
She then cast a glance at the greenrider in the room, offering a slight nod as a greeting. She hadn’t met Sh’vian yet and wasn’t entirely sure what to think of the lady. The first time Akki saw her was during the fight and that wasn’t exactly the best time to introduce herself to someone. “You’re the greenrider who transferred here, right?”
Shouldn’t you get your arm bandaged?
No, hush. I’m talking to people. Besides, this is your fault.

Kegin actually loved her since of humor. He found the strength to nod slightly about trying to say her name. A soft smile curved his lips. He knew Akki wasn't interested in him. But he was interested in her. When he found out it was her blue that injured her, he relaxed slightly. Kegin knew Dragons wouldn't harm their rider on purpose. He thought she looked cute siting on the empty cot.
Once she spoke to Sh'vian he allowed the woman to talk as he just listened. It felt much more natural having Akki near him. No real reason came to why that was. He just wanted to stay by her side even if his feels were only one way.

"Yes, I am. I am Greenrider Sh'vian of Green Diragyth and friend to Kegin. I came to see if I could cheer the lad up. I bought something for you, my friend." she whistles and a flit came in and landed in Kegin's lap and warbled a greeting. It snuggled his chest and chirped. "Your flit had already been fed so you needn't worry about that. A little something to keep you company while you recover." she smiled. "Also already bathed and oiled."
The flit looked at him and an images of him and the small creature spending time with each other filled his mind also an overwhelming sensation of love emerged from the flit. "Will you accept this gift of friendship?" she asked.

She rested her head on her knees and closed her eyes. “Do they know how long it will take for you to heal up?” The question was really open for anyone since Akki had the feeling that Kegin wasn’t entirely able to answer right now.
She opened her eye a tiny bit and surveyed Sh’vian from the cot. She was quite an attractive lady – there was no denying that. Her hair was pitch black and it didn’t seem like there was any fat on her; the lucky lady. “I’m Akki of blue Ebbeth. I like to pretend I’m a friend to Kegin.” The bluerider grinned crookedly, watching as the lady placed a flitter on to the boy’s lap. Sh’vian called it a gift of friendship but Akki couldn’t help but wonder if that was the truth or not. She had noticed it before when she entered but it seemed like the pair had some sort of thing between them.
She opened her eyes fully and twisted her hair around her fingers and shrugged a little helplessly with a small grin on her face, “I brought nothing for you. A big, fat nothing.” The girl glanced over at Sh’vian, “Have you met many others from the Weyr yet?”

kegin couldn't help but look at the flit. Though his brother's always attacked him he still wanted one of his own. Kegin looked at Sh'vian and nodded. he looked at Akki as she sat there. And shook his head to the question. Nothing was said on the exact time healing would take. When he heard her speaking to Sh'vian he was a little hurt.
Pretended to be his friend? Did that mean she really wasn't one? he had always believed she was. The new information stung worse then the blade. He wanted to just curl in a hole and be unnoticed. She spoke of no gifts but he didn't care if he brought him one. He just wanted people to come by and wish him well or check on him.
He would have loved if maybe Akki and he were alone and he might have the chance to just look on her. She was beautiful to him. And he wanted her, but he knew so did many others. That kind of made it hard for him to stand out.

Sh'vian smiled. She genuinely cared about him. He taught her how to relax, she would be his friend for life. Secretly she had a small crush on Kegin.
"How long will it be, Kegin? I'm mean until your up and about?" Sh'vian asked him. "You will be alright. Just sit tight, okay? You are strong enough to pull through this." She tried to cheer him up with words encouragement. She smiled at Akki and answered her question. "Now, I just got here two days ago. I haven't met too many people. You are the most curious one I have ever seen. I have never met anyone quiet like you."

Akki pursed her lips ever so slightly when Kegin shook his head – he wasn’t quite sure when he’d be up and about. “Well I hope it’s within a sevenday. The Weyr gets awful boring when someone is stuck on bed rest, you know.” She sniffed. Akki did get bored unnaturally fast and things just weren’t the same when there was a Kegin to pester. Well, she still could pester him but it didn’t seem quite fair when he was stuck in a cot; she should at least give him a chance to run away, right? Not that that would do him much good – Akki had the tendency to hunt people down quite well when she was determined.
She twisted her body and laid down on the cot, her knees lifted off the bed with her ankles crossed as she lifted a hand above her face, studying it. “Yeah, pull through it already. I was thinking we form a revenge committee and whoop some kids around.” She let her hand fall to her stomach as she turned her head and grinned at Kegin, “I’m not very good at just sitting around in the Weyr all day, you know.” She was a twitchy little one, she liked to be moving as much as possible and it almost seemed that her dragon was the same. What a pair they made! It was a wonder how the Weyr hadn’t collapsed because of their ridiculous accidents.
She lifted her head slightly and grinned at Sh’vian, “Yeah, I guess you got here at an odd time. Everyone’s running around and stuff, you know?” She let her head lay back down on the cot, hair splayed around her. “Whenever people like me meet each other, we have to fight till the death. Thankfully I’ve won all the rounds so far.” The bluerider snorted. There were people out there in Pern who were quite like Akki…they just happened to be eight turns old. She never did quite get the hang of growing up, you see. “It’s more of a ‘I like to stick my nose in people’s business’ than a ‘curiosity’”

Kegin listened to Akki. He wanted so much to talk to her. He took a breath and tried to sit up. It was painful but he only grimaced. He would not let Akki hear his pain in anyway. He wanted to be strong for her. Once he was somehow upright he eased his hand onto her head softly. Everything seemed to move very slow to him. He wanted to be up and back to himself.
Gently through her hair he ran his fingers and wrote two words in her hair since he couldn't talk, "I Fight." He looked at her and he wanted to let off some kind of feeling of how he would kill any that would harm Akki. Friends or not, he liked her. He crushed on her. She was the first person to seek his company. Pestering or not he enjoyed her. Though he would pretend to not want to be pestered for her sake.
Once more he wrote, "Smile. 4 me" he didn't want her sad. He wanted to make her happy anyway he could. Course that might not have been his place. But he didn't care.
