OOC: The timeline in the header will be changed as soon as the other threads are finished. I just wanted to give our weyrlings something to post to)
Weyrling Ages: Hurricane- 4 months 3 sevendays Transfer- 2 months 3 sevendays Flames- 3 sevendays
IC:
She paced. She had been pacing for almost an hour now. There wasn't much else she could do right now. The plans had been laid in place for a sevenday now. She had delayed only because she wanted to make sure everything was ready.
What could be packed before had been packed and stood ready to be hauled out of the Lower Caverns by able-bodied people. The list of who was to go and who was to stay was in her hand. It was true that she'd be hopping back and forth herself to help carry the now nearly 5 month old weyrlings, but none of them were in a position to jump *between* on their own, and she wouldn't be staying in the past like they were.
The scouts reported that there was ample numbers of herdbeasts already in the place they had chosen to drop the timers off. They wouldn't need to transfer bellowing and frightened creatures in addition to their precious dragonets and their young riders. The rest of the Weyr's supply of bandages and numbweed was going with the timing team. More would be made by those who stayed behind.
Neither team would be idle for there was much to be done.
Finally, Christae stopped pacing. She sent a mental call to her queen. The weyr would gather and help pack everything. The larger dragons would be fitted with slings that had been sewn to help them hold the young dragons. The riders would be aboard with the adult dragon's rider.
Come. It is time. Kaith's words were simple. She didn't need to say anything more.

Back in the temporary weyrling barrack K'ris was finishing up the bit of packing he had left, not that he had much to pack - though he had gotten a bit more clothes since his residency at the Weyr had become permanent. K'ris was one of the oldest Weyrlings at nineteen turns and he'd been doing a lot of help in moving everything that had to be sent back with everyone that would be going back in time. Kaith's call found he and Qeuroth just as K'ris was pulling the strap tight over his bag. He looked up at the words, then over his shoulder to where Qeuroth was waiting.
You ready for this? he sent to the dragonet. The Hawkseye nodded in reply and stood to walk to his rider's side.
I am, Mine. I look forward to it.
K'ris smiled at his dragon's reply and stood straight, lifting his bag onto his shoulder as he did so. "All right then," he said, and he did one last check to make sure he had everything, finishing with his hand resting on the necklace around his neck. "Let's get going." He stepped over towards the door, running his fingers under Queroth's chin on his way by. Normally he'd have given him a quick scratch of the eyeridge, but Qeuroth was standing with his head tall and his eleven feet were a good deal taller than K'ris' five.
You won't be scared or anything when the other dragon's carrying you, right? K'ris asked as they made their way to the bowl.
Of course not, Queroth replied. I'd be more worried about you slipping out of your safety harness from being too small.
K'ris gave a 'tch' in reply to that, quirking an eyebrow at his dragon as well. As Qeuroth got used to being in the world - and as he got bigger, as well - he'd begun to pick up on his rider's sarcastic side, and it was coming out more in teasing his rider than anything else. Of course, K'ris figured Queroth's pleasure in his own growth was setting off the bit of teasing, consdering K'ris had been finished growing a year or so before he even met the dragon.
"I was fine when they brought me to the Weyr in the first place, and I'll be fine now," he replied. "Besides, you keep on growing the way you are and maybe they won't be able to get a harness big enough to fit you." It wasn't true, obviously. The Hawkseye dragon was proving to be on the smaller side of even Hawkseyes. However, with Queroth being inside his head, K'ris often found it difficult to come up with a good comeback to the dragon's remarks. They were arriving at the Weyrbowl by that point anyway.
"K'ris and Queroth reporting in," K'ris said to the Weyrwoman as they approached. A quick glance around proved to show that they'd gotten there first. "Does anything else need to be moved, or is everthing set to go?" He asked partly to offer his help again, and partly because he was curious as to if this was really it.
[that's it for now. I dont' want to throw in four huge character posts all at once xD; I'll give others a chance to post first]

Go with the white shirt, the one with the gold trim. And black slacks. It’ll make you stand out when you’re next to me. In a good way of course..
Z’ayr stripped the tan colored shirt he had been wearing and tossed it to the ground, making a noise of frustration. “This is so hard! How can they expect me to put together an outfit this fast!” If Dinayth and him were going back in time then shards! He wanted to look good doing it. He grabbed the white shirt that Dinayth had been talking about and quickly put it on before standing in front of the blue, with his arms up.
“Well? Is this a fashionable choice?” He couldn't really claim that he didn't have enough time to find an outfit for this adventure. He had had plenty of time but Dinayth and him were heaving an awfully dreadful time finding something that they could agree on. When Z'ayr tried on the yellow, it clashed too much with Dinayth. The brown shirt made him look muddy. There was something wrong with most of his clothes and the pair were becoming desperate now. Were they worried about timing it? No, not really. They just wanted to look good when they were doing it.
Dinayth slowly circled around His, staring carefully. He paused for a moment, blowing air on the shirt to get rid of a tiny speck of dust. This is perfect. Much better than the purple shirt you had on originally. Dinayth sat, crooning in content. We will be the most coordinated weyrlings.
Z’ayr beamed at the blue, glad that they had found an outfit for him that they could both agree on. The blue’s hide was practically gleaming; Z’ayr had taken extra time to oil the dragon up so they would be prepared. The boy slung a pack over his shoulder, and patted the blue on the tip of his snout. “Let’s shove off then. We’ll have to make sure everyone knows that we’re the fashionista’s for this trip. The pair moved quickly, appearing in the Weyr Bowl just moments after K’ris. Z’ayr flashed the Weyrwoman a smile,
“Z’ayr and Dinayth, dolled up and ready to go!”

V'ael had finished packing his things a little while ago, and when Kaith's call went out to the weyrlings he was putting away the oils and such for his dragon. After he'd been packed and changed he'd thought to give Aeydrith a quick oil. He wasn't sure how the cold of between would effect the drier parts of her hide, and so he figured he'd just make sure there were none.
"That's it then," he said, buckling up his bag of things and swinging it over his shoulder. V'ael still only had the few things he'd brought on that hurried trip after the hurricane; he was hoping to go back and get more once he was a full rider, but since they were still in temporary barracks he figured he was fine for now.
Are you excited, Mine? Aeydrith asked, rising from where she'd been laying in a ray of sun by the window when V'ael started towards the door.
A bit, aye. V'ael replied, giving her a smile. A bit nervous too, but it's really more of what y'ed call nervous-excited. Aeydrith had brought her head down near V'ael's shoulder as they made their way to the Weyrbowl, and the black-haired boy brought his hand up to massage her eye ridges. They made the rest of their way mostly in silence, but V'ael couldn't help thinking of what it would be like to return back to the Weyr just shortly after they'd left, but for it to be a few turns after for him and the rest who were going back. It was a strange thought.
It will probably feel less strange when it actually happens, Aeydrith replied to his thoughts as they walked into the Bowl. Your friend is here already, she said, sending a quiet croon-ish greeting to Z'ayr and Dinayth. V'ael lifted a hand to wave to them as well, but he made his way first to the Weyrwoman.
"V'ael an' Aeydrith, Weyrwoman," he said with a quick bow of respect.

Sighing, Relina had her bag packed and she slung it over her shoulder. She looked at her bed and saw Zorn and Rhythm curled up together on the pillow. Smiling to herself, she walked over and stroked them, gently waking them up.
"It's time to go." She said as she recieved Kaith's message. She picked up the sleepy flits one at a time and helped them clamp onto her shoulders before turning to her precious green.
Ready to leave? She asked as Soranith stood. The sassy green shook her head quickly and looked at Relina.
I was waiting for you. She replied, making Relina laugh. Having already said her goodbyes to her sister, who was currently doing chores, the four of them made their way to the weyrbowl. When they arrived, they saw the queen as well as 3 other dragons Relina assumed to be Weyrlings. Relina and Soranith made their way to Christae and Kaith, whom Relina promptly bowed to, and addressed them.
"Good day, Christae, my greetings to Kaith. If I may, when shall we leave?" Relina asked with only the slightest bit of pride in her voice. She had come a long way since impressing her Soranith, and her people skills were much better than they had been, though she still acted a bit more proud at times than she ought to.

J'kiran was the next of the Weyrlings to show up at the Weyrbowl. He'd been packed and ready awhile ago, so when Kaith had sent out her message all he'd had to do was get up, grab his bag, and walk. His bronze companion was walking just behind him; at four months Kaenith was already reaching up to about 21 feet when he stood.
The pair made their way to where the group was forming. Kaenith waited just along the outside of the group; considering his height, he didn't want to block anyone from seeing ahead to where the Weyrwoman stood. J'kiran made his way up to the Goldrider and gave her a respective bow. "J'kiran and bronze Kaenith reporting in," he greeted, giving her one more quick nod and a friendly smile before stepping back and returning to stand in front of where Kaenith had taken a seat.

Kira had been in the middle of packing when the golden queen Kaith beckoned for her and the others. She glanced back at Ayerith, who had gotten quite tall. The copper had obviously grown over time. Not quite reaching the size of her clutchbrother bronzes, she still towered over most colors. Yet in Ayerith's mind, she was as big and mighty as any queen.
The copper had gotten quite the peculiar attitude, but Kira still knew the copper cared. Ayerith just had issue letting you know it or saying it. Kiramine, you are going to make us late. It does not befit us to be late. We will set a poor example. Kira turned from her dragon and shook her head. "Yes, oh high and mighty queen copper", Kira rolled her eyes and finished packing. She threw one sack over her shoulder and looked down as Isis began rubbing against her leg.
"Aww. Isis. I wish you could come with me. But it's best you stay here. I've talked with a greenrider here, and she'll take good care of you", Kira cooed to her feline and scratched it behind the ear. At that moment, said greenrider walked in. Kira knew the greenrider by the name of Awerah. She gave a polite smile to the greenrider and scooped up Isis.
"She's a picky eater, so things may be touch and go with her at first. But once you figure out her eating habits, she's easy to get along with. She'll be following you everywhere", Kira commented to the greenrider Awerah had simply given Kira a smile and offered to walk her out to the weyrbowl with the other weyrlings. Kira agreed and the group of humans, dragon, and feline made their way to the weyrbowl.
Awerah had broken off with Isis in her hands as she went to take the feline to her weyr. Meanwhile, Kira bounded towards the group with Ayerith walking awkwardly behind her. Mine! Such excitement does not befit a rider of your status. The copper scolded her rider, but Kira simply ignored her as she wrapped her arms around Jil's torso from behind.
"Ah! Are you excited? I know I am. Ayerith is too, but she's being too much of a stick in the mud to say so herself!", Kira chattered excitingly at Jil. It would probably not be a surprise to anyone to see Kira go directly after him. Though she flirted with any guy around, Kira was always hip to hip with Jil.

D'car had packed earlier on. He had been ready for quite awhile. He didn't seem to be alone either, as he stared blankly across the room at Jil. D'car had taken to lazing about his cot until he had to leave. Truth be told, he didn't want to leave. He hated the idea. Yeah, he understood why. Stupid thread, it was so inconvienent. Because of it, he had to go back in time just so he and his dragon would be able to properly fend it off so that they could be rid of threadfall. Then he could go back to having a normal life.
For someone as uptight as D'car, he sure did think lightly and actually rather selfishly when it came to thread. When the queen called for them, he watched as Jil got up and bounded out the barracks with his things. Blasted bronzeriders. Leadership was handed to them on a silver platter just because they were lucky enough to impress a certain color. He and Tetroth would have to claw their way as high up as they could.
When Jil left, he picked up his own things and walked out with Tetroth. Do not fret, D'car. We will prove our dominance to the weyr and to this menace. The brown rumbled to his rider as he followed behind him. D'car acknowledged what Tetroth had said, but didn't bother for a response. Instead, he kept walking.
As Tetroth walked behind him, it could be seen that the brown had grown considerably. Amongst his fellow brown clutchsiblings, he was on the larger side. Tetroth would grow to be quite a large brown. Perhaps not the largest, but large in his own right. Tetroth had started to fill out as quite an intimidating figure. But it was only a start. D'car could only imagine how scarey he'd be as a full grown dragon. His first time out of the shell and he attacked someone. Ever since he had been an intense and dominant force in his mind.
It was all D'car could do to try and tune it out and keep from influencing his own character. Because of such resistance, D'car and Tetroth often were at odds with each other. You could usually tell when the two were having a mental arguement because D'car's scowl would become even fouler, if that were even possible.
As he walked towards the crowd of people gathering, he noticed Jil already had his hands full with Kira. The brownrider weyrling rolled his eyes. Those bronzeriders really did have all the luck in the world. Instant prestige and leadership, and girls hanging all over them. Well that was the sort of dark thoughts that crept in D'car's mind while he eyed Jil begrudgingly.
He, himself, didn't see anyone that he wanted to be around. Of course, there was only one that he would stand to be around. Tanwen had been the first official break through, getting through that thick rugged shell of D'car's. But she was not yet here, so he waited off to the side, some distance away.
"Kira and Ayerith reporting", D'car heard the peppy voice of Kira. It irritated him to no end how the girl had so much energy. He liked her better when she went through that phase of not talking. He gritted his teeth, hating to have to speak up and bring attention to himself. "D'car and Tetroth", D'car said just loud enough for the weyrwoman to hear him.
He looked around again. Nope, still no Tanwen. Well, of course, that was fine with him. He didn't need anyone to hang around anyhow. He had done just fine by himself before then. Yup yup, he was totally alright without having someone next to him with whom he could converse with without getting so irritated with.

Tanwen had been among those that were basically all packed and ready to leave. She was taking all her things (really just a few) that she had, which included her glow-lamp glass-trinket, which she'd wrapped up ina few of her shirts to keep safe on the journey. When Kaith called for them, all it took was for her to get up off her bed, nudge her green awake gently, and then they were off.
Vessayith was certainly proving to be on the larger side of green, having already reached twelve feet at 2 months. She wasn't very bulky though - most of her height was due to her longer legs, and the green's entire form actually looked almost dainty in the way it was constructed. The green was uncommonly quiet compared to normal on their walk to the Weyrbowl, but that was only because she was fresh up from sleep. By the time they'd arrived at the bowl itself she was back to her upbeat self.
Ohh, Mine, your friend is already here! Looks like it, Tanwen replied as she stepped up to the Weyrwoman.
"Tanwen and Vessayith reporting in," she said, giving a quick bow-nod before turning back to return to her green.
He looks a bit lonely. Vessayith observed. She hadn't actually met D'car yet, but she'd known of him through her bonded. Maybe we should go over and make him less lonely? Do you think he'd mind?
Probably. Tanwen replied, making her way towards D'car. We'll go talk to him anyway.
Oh! I wonder if His would like to talk as well.
Tanwen really didn't know about that one, considering she didn't know much about D'car's dragon. She offered him a wave as they got closer and came to stop nearby. Vessayith stayed close by her shoulder. "Hey," Tanwen greeted. "As ready as we'll ever be, right?" She was talking about going back in time, of course. "This is Vessayith, by the way." Pretty obvious, but she felt an introduction was needed anyway.
Hello! Vessayith greeted the brown, sitting down just by Tawnen. Mine is a friend of Yours, so I'm glad to finally have met you!

The one you like approaches, yes? Tetroth questioned his bonded. D'car was stirred from whatever thoughts were swirling around his mind and looked up to see Tanwen reporting to the weyrwoman. Yes, that would be her.
Tetroth rumbled in amusement. D'car hadn't caught what he had said right away. But the brown knew he'd catch it in a moment. A moment such as now. Wait! No! That's not how I meant it, and you know it. D'car gave that furious scowl that was always on his face when arguing with his dragon.
He looked over to Tanwen as she waved at him. You behave yourself. If her dragon talks to you, play nice. Tanwen is the only decent one here. D'car ordered his dragon. The brown preferred it when D'car took charge and gave orders. At the very least, his prodding had gotten that much out of D'car. As you wish, mine. I will do my best to be nice to this one.
D'car rid himself of the scowl and looked disinterested at Tanwen. "Hello Tanwen", he greeted her in return before looking back at the crowd before them. Well met, Vessayith. Mine speaks highly of yours. The only one he does speak highly of. He looked over the green, eyes swirling with curiousity but nothing more.
D'car looked back at Tanwen and looked at his sack before looking at hers. "I don't particularly like this plan. But it seems we have little choice with our backs against the wall now", D'car admitted to Tanwen. He gave a sigh and shook his head. Stupid Tetroth pushing him to like girls. Though turning sixteen very soon, he needed to start noticing them. Eventually his dragon would be grown enough to participate in flights. He refused to think of that though, because then he'd have to be forced to think about participating in Tanwen's flights. And right now, such thoughts were awkward for him.
She had become the only person, much less the only female, that D'car could tolerate around him. The last thing he was ready to think about was intimacy. "But I suppose Tetroth and I are as ready as we can be", he interrupted his own thoughts, looking at Tanwen. At the very least, he'd have her there with him. It made this time bearable. So it'd be just as likely to make whatever time they were going to now just as bearable. Who knew, though? The past might be more bearable with less people!

D'lan had also finished his packing and was already on his way to the bowl with Lenoth and Spark in tow. Despite his excitement at a new adventure, D'lan was very worried about getting there.
I`m going backward in time! Oh, what if something goes wrong? What if I miss the destination point? What if I get stuck in a rock? What if I don't come out? He worried, feeling more and more unsure of himself. Suddenly, Lenoth piped up.
Mine, please, slow down and be calm. Nothing bad will happen, I will not let anything hurt you, I promise. I love you mine, we will be safe. Lenoth assured, crooning and butting D'lan's shoulder lightly. D'lan chuckled as he was pushed slightly and he patted his dragon gently.
Thank you, I love you too my Lenoth. Oh, I think I see K'ris and Queroth, shall we go to them? D'lan asked, giving his tidings to the weyrwoman and Kaith.
Let's. Queroth, it is good to see you. Lovely day isn't it? lenoth said, wasting no time in greeting the hawk's eye. D'lan smiled and nodded at K'ris.
"Hello my friend, so, going Between time, how do you feel about that?" He inquired his equally vertically-challenged friend.

Shortly after J'kiran and Kaenith had settled in their spot, the bronze lifted his head to look across the crowd. Ayerith and Hers are coming.
J'kiran turned his head to look just in time to be all but tackled by Kira. Short notice, Kaenith. He smiled to Kira over his shoulder and nodded in reply to her question. "Certainly," he said. "A bit nervous too. I find myself wondering what it will be like to go back in time." It would also only be his second time between altogether.
I think it's perfectly acceptable for Yours to get excited, Kaenith spoke to the copper. Mine tells me that this whole event is of much importance.
- - -
"I think it's fascinating," Tanwen replied to D'car. She gave him a quick glance and shrugged. "It is a bit last-ditch, I guess," she said. "But it's better than giving us all flamethrowers and pushing us out into threadfall."
Mine talks good of Yours too, Vessayith replied to the brown. It's my first time meeting both you and Yours, but Mine has told me lots. She tilted her head. From what I've heard, Mine's friend Z'ayr sounds more fun - I've met him. He's very fun. But she does enjoy talking to Yours too. Do you think Yours will ever be as fun as Z'ayr? Or do you think he'll stay the same? Mine says people do change - she says that she's changed a lot too. I suppose anyone could--
Vessayith? Tanwen interrupted the green's string of chatter, looking over to her dragon with a bit of a quirked eyebrow. The green looked over to her. It's great that you're talking to Tetroth, but try more talk and less chatter, please? She'd given the green an example of the difference between those two before; she loved Vessayith to death, but it was difficult to think with so much chattering going on in her mind.
Oh! Yes, Mine, I can do that. Vessayith looked back to the brown. Mine likes me to try and talk more, chatter less.
- - -
The first two arrivals were still more or less towards the front, though off towards the side so Qeuroth wouldn't get in anyone's way. Shortly after they'd gotten there K'ris had sent a mental call to his blue flit, Twil, and the flit popped in above him about the time that D'lan and Lenoth were making their way over. Queroth looked over towards the approaching pair when he was spoken too and gave a low croon in greeting to the two. It is, he said. Quite lovely. Greetings Lenoth, and to Yours as well.
K'ris had looked towards the two at the same moment as his dragon, having heard the bronze's greeting to Qeuroth. He let Twil settle on his shoulder, planning on gently shoving the flit into the front of his shirt during the trip. K'ris offered a smile and a quick wave as the other pair walked over. "Hey," he returned D'lan's greeting, then gave a shrug to the rest of the comment. "It sounds pretty cool," he said. "I've only gone between one other time, when I came to the Weyr, so it'll be interesting to see if it's any different going between times." He thought for a moment. "I am excited though. What about you?"

Ah, there’s Aeydrith. Dinayth told His when the green and her rider approached the Weyrwoman.
Z’ayr’s grin was wide as he walked up to the boy, hooking arms with him as soon as V’ael had straightened from the bow. “Are you excited?” Z’ayr asked, curious about what his friend thought about this whole ordeal. “I had a dreadful time trying to figure out what to wear.” He tore his eyes away from V’ael and looked at Aeydrith, wiggling his fingers at the green.
Are you nervous? Dinayth asked, staring the green with whirling eyes.
Z’ayr peered around and spotted Tanwen, blowing the girl and her dragon a kiss and giving her a wink. He had noticed that Tanwen and D’car had been getting rather chatty lately. Interesting.
- - -
It had taken K’ael a bit of time to get ready for the trip. He was a cautious packer, only trying to bring what was necessary so he wouldn’t be carrying around pointless objects. For the most part, his bag was filled with his Healing supplies. Better safe than sorry, right? If someone got hurt on this venture, he wanted to make sure that the proper supplies could be at hand to fix them up. He straightened, looking around the room for one last moment before looking at Osaith. “You ready?”
Of course. Let us head towards the Bowl.
K’ael had to hide a grin at his dragon’s words. He had always thought of greens as excitable creatures, chittering and moving non-stop. Osaith was not like that though; she seemed quite calm and normally had a clear mind. He liked this – when he was tending to an injury, she wasn’t going on and on about blood or anything but simply watched with curiosity. When asked about it, Osaith replied that she wanted to know everything about Hers and K’ael’s healing profession.
The pair reached the Weyr Bowl and moved towards the Weyrwoman, bowing to her. “K’ael and Osaith, reporting in.” He smiled slightly before taking a step away from the Goldrider so others could talk to her. He glanced around and couldn’t help but feel slightly awkward. He didn’t really know any of his fellow weyrlings; he had the feeling that maybe they saw him as too old to really consider chatting him up. He was two Turns older than the second eldest weyrling who was nineteen Turns.
His thoughts were disturbed when Osaith nudged him slightly. Don’t forget to tie your hair. The green reminded him thoughtfully, knowing it would be best tied for the time being.
- - -
All of the weyrlings had spent their days planning and packing and discussing the trip.
All except for one.
Faine understood why she wasn’t going – two queens of the same age posed too many risks and the Weyr couldn’t afford that. She had briefly wondered how they decided which one stayed and which one left but gave up. It was just going to make her mind hurt. Faine chewed on the corner of her thumb when Kaith’s call rang through and glanced at Colvarinth, who simply stared back.
“Come on.” Faine more or less begged, asking for her gold’s permission to go to the Bowl. Colvarinth made a noise but got up and headed to where everyone was gathering. They wouldn’t be going, but they could at least say goodbye. Well, at least Faine could say goodbye. Colvarinth was disinterested in it all for it didn’t involve her.
They reached the bowl quickly and Faine saw Relina immediately, wrapping her fingers around the greenrider’s. “Don’t replace me while you’re gone.” Faine smiled. The goldrider was going to be lonely without Relina but Catilena was staying behind. Who would Relina have? This concerned her. Faine glanced at her gold, You really don’t mind not going?
Of course not. I will have my youth longer than all of these dragons. They'll be oldwhile I'm still vibrant.

V'ael had barely gotten to stand up straight before there was an arm hooked with his and he was being tugged away from the Weyrwoman. Of course once he saw it was Z'ayr tugging him back towards their dragons the boy got a big grin on his face. He nodded quickly in reply to Z'ayr's question.
"Sure am." he replied. "We're goin' back in time! How many people d'ye think'll be able to say that?" When they reached where their two dragons were he ran his hand affectionately against Aeydrith's neck. "With the amount of time we'll need te train an grow, why, we're probably goin' back to a time when none of us were even at the Weyr." It was a bit odd to think that they would be going back to a point where he, before he was searched, would be working at his father's Vintyr hall while he, in their current present, was off somewhere else learning to be a dragon rider.
Aeydrith's eyes gave a whirl in return when Dinayth spoke his question. Not at all, she said. The only thing I'm nervous about is that my V'ael will be too cold between. He's from a warm place, and no matter how much I insisted he told me he doesn't have anything warm to wear for the trip.

"Stop it!" H'nam protested, using one booted foot to shove his impetuous black weyrling away from him. "That hurts, among other things!" He complained. That, and he really really didn't want to go. Just the idea of this whole escapade was frightening.
First, he gets jumped by bandits, who tear him up like he'd never even thought possible to live through. Then, while still all trussed up like a turkey, he impresses! Who would have thought? Him? Old wandering Honam? So now life gets really interesting. Going from the challenge of dressing and feeding himself to also dressing and feeding a dragon. Joys. Then, after all that, people start talking about thread coming. He'd never asked for any of this!! Piled on top of that, now there was talk of forcibly shoving him through time. Time was dangerous!!
So, it was quite understandable that H'nam was a little stressed out. Too much was changing too fast, and he was in pain and scared. Shardit, he didn't want to go! "I didn't ask for any of this!" He protested abruptly, causing Reloth to sit back on his haunches as if stung, all the bounce sucked right out of him, sad colors swirling into his eyes.
"Oh, Faranth." H'nam said, seeing that. "No, I didn't mean it like that. Reloth ... look ... stop acting like a pushover! I did not mean I didn't want you. Good night! What am I going to do with you, huh?" HUffing, H'nam sat down on the edge of his furs and rubbed his shoulders. He'd been allowed out of the binding, constraining straight jacket, but he still wasn't technically allowed to do anything with his arms heavier than lifting a roll. Which made life real interesting.
At least now he could dress and feed himself. And sortof do the same for Reloth. Who happened to be energetic and 'helpful' enough to haul around the rest of whatever they needed to move. H'nam heaved a heavy, dejected sigh. He was getting sucked into this whirlwind of a storm whether he wanted to be or not.
Reloth put his head down and slunk closer to H'nam, who absently reached over to scratch the weyrling's ridges. "I'm sorry."
They think it'll be okay, so it'll be okay, right? Reloth asked.
H'nam snorted. "They think a lot of things, Rel. You're naive, to think that just cause they hope it'll be ok that it will be. People in history have died just trying to do this stunt. Individually. I don't think anyone has tried to do it collectively." Granted, H'nam was not the most educated person around. Far from it, he really didn't care that much for reading or lessons. But that didn't mean he was stupid.
Whether he knew it or not, H'nam was a Lord's bastard son. And his mother had tried to reflect that in his education, if nothing else, even if she'd never told him who his father was.
H'nam eyed the one small bag he had packed. He doubted he could wear the thing without tearing up his wounds. And most of the contents were things for his wounds. Having spent so much time traveling abroad with nothing really to rely on, H'nam was actually better suited to this mission than most of the rest of the weyrlings. He knew how to pack for the unknown. How to not drown himself in ... things. He knew what was important to take, and what was not.
Knives - those were important. A shirt, maybe. His shoes were on his feet, gosh he loved those shoes. They fit, and they were new and they were comfortable and and ... they were his, fair and square. He could go barefoot, but he didn't have to anymore. After that ... a few bandages, some herbal stuff that he'd been given for his wounds. He wasn't even sure what it was, really. But he'd added it. Some dried foods. Jerky, waybread, things of the like. Stuff that wouldn't spoil. String, that was in there, too. Once wherever he was going, he could use the knives and make himself a bow and a few arrows. With which he could hunt. So he'd packed a bowstring. A little bit of rope, and a little more string, this time with a little metal hook on the end. Fishing, always good. There was a small square of cloth folded up and tucked inside. It could be used either as a bandanna, or as a carrysak should he find any fruits or other such wild plants that were good for eating. Such things of that nature.
Wherever they were planning to dump him, whenever they were planning to dump him ... H'nam had the basics covered. He would live, if nothing else.
Edging over toward the small pack, Reloth grasped the top of it in his front teeth, and lifted it from where it was sitting. I think they are waiting on us.
"Sharditall." H'nam grumped, getting to his feet and walking out, Reloth following him with the pack.
He really didn't want to go!

Kira made her way around Jil from hugging him from behind to wrapping one arm around his. "The mighty bronzerider? Nervous?", Kira questioned with a smirk and a laugh. She patted the boy's hand and looked directly at him. She was slightly teasing him, but by now Jil probably realized her teasing was all in good fun. "Don't you know all you bronzeriders are suppose to be tough and fearless? Oh and ruggedly good looking. Have you ever seen the bronzeriders G'han and V'ian? Oh, or the weyrleader?", she chatted on.
She gave a momentary look up to his hair before looking back at him then settling her gaze back at his hair. "Infact", she dragged out before deciding to hold off continuing that statement. She licked her fingers and started messing with Jil's hair. "You could stand to spiff up a little. You're handsome, but a little extra work on the hair wouldn't hurt", she teased him.
Ayerith snorted at her rider's antics. See how excited mine is? She won't admit it, but she is nervous as well. Though the copper wouldn't admit Kira was only teasing with Jil to lighten things up. Though you are right. This is very important. Which is why mine should be more proper about such situations.

D'car nodded his head slowly in response to Tanwen, though not looking at her for the moment. He had never left his position of arms crossed and staring forward. "True enough. I'd prefer we fight like true dragonriders are meant to. But going back in time isn't a move I'm comfortable with. Too bad we can't be trained in our own natural time", D'car responded to Tanwen. He gave a glance over to her, wondering just what she was thinking.
D'car probably didn't care a single bit about what anyone else thought of the move or if they were even nervous. But with Tanwen, it did matter. Afterall, he considered her a friend. Weren't you supposed to care about a friend's feelings or something? Not that he really knew. This was all knew to him.
D'car thought about it. Fighting thread as a full fledged rider. That was something not even his sister had done. She was a dragonrider, yes. But...D'car's thoughts trailed off. Quickly thinking of how proud he might make his sister, combating thread as only a true dragonrider could.
While D'car was stuck thinking about the past, Tetroth had to stick to the present. He was starting to find the green too irritating. How could the only friend of Tanwen's have such a chatterbox of a dragon? He was itching to do something about it, but he remembered D'car's orders. Play nice. Behave. That's what he'd do!
Mine will change. But not in the way you think. Whether or not Tanwen thinks he is fun will depend on her and the future. Tetroth seemed somewhat cryptic and one had to wonder if that was his nature. Of course Tetroth was making it his duty to change D'car. He wanted the boy to be a leader and get as far ahead as he could. He also wanted him to be more outgoing and social, though not necessarily nicer. The brown simply wanted D'car out in the world as opposed to staying as far away from it as possible. It just wouldn't help him become a leader.

"I don't know if I would use the word 'mighty,' " J'kiran said. He shrugged when she made the comment about being ruggedly handsome. "I've seen them around," he answered her question on the older bronzeriders.
When she looked at his hair a few times he actually lifted a hand to touch the top of his head briefly, not sure if there was something stuck to his head or not. It was after he'd taken his hand back down that she reached up to mess with his hair and speak again. "What's wrong with my hair?" he asked, bringing his hand up to straighten it from her ruffling. "My Mother made this headband for me." He was actually fond of his hairstyle, and though he knew she was teasing, he was wondering what would be wrong with it.
I don't think you have to worry so much, Kaenith replied to the copper. Mine does not think of his importance in rank very much either, but I think that our training will help.

Tanwen thought on his comment for a moment before replying. "I bet you could've asked to stay behind," she pointed out. "Might've been a long shot, but they're keeping one of the junior queens back." She shrugged. "You could've just told them you were scared." Granted, she realized he had actually said uncomfortable, but the snarky nature that she'd always had was not going to completely disappear at any near point in her life.
Mine enjoys talking to both Yours and Z'ayr. Z'ayr is just louder fun. I do like loud fun! Dinayth is not quite as much fun as Z'ayr, but they are much much fun together! She paused to think back to the rest of what Tetroth had commented. I don't think Mine is trying to change Yours at all. I was only wondering if he would because Mine had told me that everyone does change. She tells me that she changed more because I make it difficult not to smile - which she assured me is a good thing, and not something unfortunate. Do you think everyone has difficulty not smiling? Do you suppose Yours does?

D'car looked back at Tanwen, stirred from his thoughts. Scared? Really? Did she honestly think he was scared to go back? "Do not consider discomfort the same as scared", he said rather blandly. D'car would normally be quite irritable by the notion of him being scared. However, there had been a slight change with D'car. He was still irritable and anti-social but it was like he took a chill pill. Instead of biting her head off and going into some long rant about how he was so not scared of going back in time, his answer was quite casual as was his look.
Though what was really odd was what he said after that. He glanced towards Tanwen and gave a very small smirk. "Besides. Me? Scared? In your dreams", the response was sarcastic, but not in a biting sarcastic manner. It seemed almost...playful. Props to D'car, he must have started reading a book about friendship or something because it seemed he was giving Tanwen his best effort.
Meanwhile, poor Tetroth was dealing with the headache that was Tanwen's dragon. The green simply talked way too much. If Tetroth was a human, he'd be grasping the sides of his head in agony as the dragon continued on and on. But, her last question amused Tetroth quite a bit. Infact he gave something of a dragonic chuckle. Mine? Smile? I don't think it's possible. Of course, Tetroth hadn't been paying attention to the smirk that was on D'car's face earlier but Tetroth really wouldn't count that as a legitimate smile.

Kira's perky smile turned into a slight frown before ruffling Jil's hair. "Nothing's wrong with it, silly. I'm just teasing you", she stated. She patted Jil's arm comfortingly. Truth be told, she really did think Jil was quite handsome and his hair was pretty nice. It was just in the girl's nature to tease. Especially to tease her best male friend.
"Your hair is gorgeous. Okay? So no sweating it", she reassured him. She gave one more look at Jil's hair before smoothing it out. "The headband also adds a nice touch. It makes you look...mighty", she said, giggling after the last word. She gave him a light nudge.
I think it would help as well. Especially if she spent more time focused on it than the males. Ayerith snorted a bit exasperated with her rider's antics. Her goals are lofty, yet she could be of so much importance.

Tanwen gave a shrug to D'car's initial reaction to her comment. She likely would've left the conversation drop off at that if he hadn't added in the other sarcastic comment. She wasn't looking at him at the time so she didn't catch his smirk directly. Tanwen glanced over when he made the comment; it was precisely the sort of response that her snarky comments were meant to incite. She returned the smirk and rolled her eyes. "Not likely," she said. "There isn't a chance you'd have been there in the first place."
Vessayith tilted her head at Tetroth's responce. Her eyes gave a quick whirl in confusion. Your's cannot smile? she asked. Is there something wrong with his face? The bit of confusion he'd introduced seemed to have calmed down her string of chatter for now.
- - -
J'kiran looked back at Kira when she replied. He smiled when she ruffled his hair again. He hadn't really been going for 'gorgeous,' but the compliment was received well anyway, though with a slight flush to his face as well.
"I still don't believe I would use the word 'mighty' to describe me," he said again. "A lifestyle of directing herding canines does not really bring about might." He paused and tilted his head slightly. "Or would it be...mightiness?"
I asked Mine once why he did not act as important as I've seen others do, and he said that he was more concerned with acting as himself. He said it made him happier. Kaenith thought on that for a moment. Perhaps Yours is happier acting the way she acts as well?

D'car gave another smirk and shook his head. "No, I don't suppose there's a chance that I would be", he said casually, agreeing with Tanwen. Most guys probably would have argued that point about Tanwen dreaming about them. D'car, however, was not most boys. He was not very hormone driven either, for a boy on the verge of 17.
As the smirk faded, D'car took a glance over at Tanwen, catching the tail end of her own smirk. D'car had to be impressed with himself, doing so well in a conversation. Before Tanwen, he was all scowl and tried to get himself out of talking or interacting with anyone. Even though that was still true now, it was different with Tanwen. With any luck, maybe Tanwen would be the first of many D'car would come to accept in his life.
Tetroth, meanwhile, roared with laughter. In a manner of speaking, yes. D'car is not the type to smile. Let us leave it at that. Tetroth spoke to the green, not minding her presence so much now.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kira grinned at Jil and simply shook her head. "Oh no. What matters now is that you are a bronzerider. One day you will make a fine wingleader. Maybe even a weyrleader. You are very mighty, mighty Jil!", she exclaimed to him and patted his cheek. However, she paused for a moment then whispered in his ear. "Just remember. Before you go and make it big. You were first mine", she whispered coyly to the lad before wrapping her arm around his.
Kira was teasing, of course. But as far as the girl was concerned, Jil was her best friend. Therefore, she had first dibs on him. He was hers to begin with. Kira had that amusing posessive nature that plenty of younger girls had in their teenage years.
I am sure that Kiramine is acting as she wishes. The copper agreed with the bronze, but the tone suggested some contempt for Kira's attitude and actions. As far as Ayerith was concerned, the sooner Kira could get through the lessons, the more properly disciplined she would be.
