Rhia could feel the fatigue that sapped both her strength and her dragon from the efforts that had brought them to this time, Turns before the first explorers came to explore the area that became Dark Moon Weyr.
The place was suitable for dragons only because there was no threadfall and caves in the area that had been carved out to form the weyr gave great shelter for the group that was staying there for a Turn or two to help the little ones grow.
The 3 sets of weyrlings she had were on different schedules. The oldest would be doing more strength training, getting ready for their first flight. They had already gone over firestone and were now working on various ground drills.
The middle class was still learning about firestone and working on strengthening the bond between themselves, their dragons, and their classmates. They would begin doing more strengthening training and progress from there.
The youngest class had the most to learn. They'd be the ones who would be staying back the longest in all likely hood. They were learning about their new partners, basic care, first aid, and firestone, etiquette, and other such basic lessons.
She had Mneith call them out. Some of the other dragons were hunting for the babies so they would have fresh meat by the time they had all managed to arrive.
She would stagger the classes.
For now, she called the older dragonets.
"All Hurricane Weyrlings Report!"
Mneith echoed the command. Hurricane Weyrlings Report.
This was the day after they had all arrived. She had sent them to bed early and now she was waiting on the floor of the crater that would be shaped into the Weyr Bowl. They had set up cots for the weyrlings since they would be staying there for quite some time. The dragons had makeshift beds thrown together when they arrived from the surrounding materials.
