Name: Andora
Age: Thirty-four Turns
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Heterosexual, outside of Dragonflight
Rank: Greenrider
Appearance:
Though average in height, Andora falls on the heavier side of the scale. To put it kindly, she is chubby, with a great fondness for sweets. Despite this, she has an appealing countenance, with a slightly oval shaped face and a long neck. Her hair is a dark, chocolate brown that's easy to mistake for black and easily recognizable by the silver-gray strands blended in. She keeps it cropped to just below her shoulders, with the bangs just slightly shorter. Paired with this are bright blue eyes of a startling shade, that seem to mirror the sky outside on a clear day. Her complexion is slightly tan, with a redness about her face that never seems to go away. Andora carries herself with an air of authority, and even though she is not especially imposing of figure, her presence seems to fill a room. She is a master of facial expressions, and can often communicate with them without ever needing to say a word. Her favorite expression is to have one brow quirked upward.
Personality:
Likes:
Anything that smells of french vanilla. Swimming is her passion, as is running, hiking, camping... Anything that will get her outside. She also loves night time, and gazing up at the stars. Of course, there's always those few times when she isn't busy trying to do twenty things at once, and that's when she has her nose in a scroll. Or perhaps she's just daydreaming, as she is wont to do. Sleeping is always an option too, as long as she's curled up with her little Oriel next to her. Sleeping alone is getting rather old, though. She is starting to long for the company of another.
Dislikes:
Loud noises, they hurt her ears. The same goes for heave smells, especially perfume. Large groups make her uncomfortable, though she doesn't have to deal with that any more. Extreme temperatures are a definite no, she has enough trouble keeping her body temperature regulated as it is! Something else she can't stand is rude people, or those who are obstinately unwilling to consider other people's views. She also hates strawberries fiercely, but there's a reason for that. She's allergic.
Fears:
Fear is something Andora is well acquainted with. Her biggest fear, though foolish maybe, is that she'll let someone down. It doesn't matter if it's a complete stranger on the street or her boss at work, she's absolutely terrified of being a disappointment. Another of her foolish fears is the light thrown by candles. More, it's the shadows they throw in the darkness, making her feel as if something sinister is watching her. The most secret of Andora's fears, however, is the stillness that comes before any type of inclement weather. somehow, it always makes her feel as if she's drawing her lasts breaths in this world, as all of nature settles in to endure whatever is to come. She hates the feeling of being stifled, as if she has to struggle to simply live as she waits for the clouds to break.
Goals:
Andora's main goal, thanks to her dragon's opinionated views, is simply to show others to look beyond the stereotype of a 'green' personality. She wants others to see that just because someone looks one way, it doesn't mean they particularly have to act that way. More personally, she has the desire to pull a prank that will be remembered long after it is over.
Quirks:
She is dyslexic, and bi-polar. Though she is bi-polar, it does not take on the form of her personality changing completely. Rather, it's just her sense of humor that changes. While she always finds things funny that others might not, when the disorder kicks in, she actively seeks out these things, often asking rhetorical questions aimed to amuse herself. Usually, she realizes that her sense of amusement is off from others, and tries to keep to herself what is funny and what is not, when this happens, she doesn't seem to care about the feelings of others, often saying things that might be offensive or hurtful to her company. Her mood swings come about with no warning, but they never last long. She chews on her lower lip when debating something. If she's irritated, her fingers will tap on any solid surface available. Also, if she doesn't have gum or some other such thing, she will chew on her pen or pencil. Her hands are never still, whether it be twisting a finger around a strand of hair or, ironically 'twiddling' her thumbs.
Description:
The red headed temper has nothing on this girl. She's set off by anything, and has a tendency to hold grudges over silly things. She's also slightly slow to pick up things, due to a birth defect that comes from the circumstances of her birth. However, this doesn't stop her much, as she's even more determined because of it. She is very attached to her brother Wi'red, and was almost always seen with him before the Threadfall. When her temper doesn't have a hold of her, she's a very docile, even minded person, and often acts as an anchor for others, keeping them out of trouble, even if she's just as good at getting them in trouble when the mood strikes her. She's good at putting clue pieces together, and is an essential problem solver.
Most people consider Andora to be cold, even to the extent of being heartless at times because of the way she talks. Her words are cold, sarcastic, and sometimes mocking. She has no qualms about speaking her mind, and if she's asked a question she gives her honest opinion, regardless of whether it is what the person wants to hear. This definitely isn't the person to go to if one wants to ask someone's opinion about if you are sensitive to criticism, whether it be about clothing, setting, or anything in between. But if you're looking for someone to do a job, then Andora is the right person. Her eye for detail is remarkable, and she'll be sure to do any job given to her to the best of her abilities.

History:
There once was a small hold, with an even smaller population, suffering from a hard summer full of misfortune and illness. It so happened that within this village, there was a woman. This woman was celebrated, because she was pregnant. But she was also struck by misfortune, for early in her seventh month of pregnancy, she fell ill. It seemed for a few weeks that she was fighting off the sickness well enough. However, as her eight month drew nearer, she began to succumb to her fate, for none before her had survived after contracting the disease. As the people began to fear for both the woman and her child, a traveling band of entertainers came upon the village, and much to their surprise, the was also a woman with them that was with child, though this woman was over due for her little one.
It was on the second night of the troop's stay that it happened. With a storm rumbling in the sky, the one who traveled with them fell into labor. Upon hearing the cries of the birthing, the sickly villager also began to fell the pain of contractions. And so it came to pass that two babies were brought into the world that night. One an easy, unremarkable birth, the other...
The other brought Andora into existence, though it cost her mother her life. The villagers, upon seeing her so closely resembling the pallor and slim from of the lost woman, feared that she had also contracted the disease, and with her being premature, were sure the little one would die, and so shunned her. But the journeywoman would hear none of this, and upon seeing the child took her in as her own, naming the girl after her lost mother. The troop left the next day, as soon as the storm wore itself off, taking both babies with them.
Despite the tragic events of her birth, Andora's life proceeded fairly normally. Her brother, though coming from a different mother, showed tendencies of being over-protective, as well as hot-headed. For this reason, she was forced to come up with ways of 'defusing' situations that her brother generally got them in. Things like scuffles were more numerous than firelizards when Wilfred was around, so she decided that the best way to keep both of them safe was to stop them before they started. The girl was five when she discovered her love of pranks. Her brother had angered a particularly vengeful boy, and rather than allow him to take his revenge, Andora tricked the bully into believing that if he tried he would be haunted by mice for the rest of his life. Not a particularly difficult prank, as all she had to do was make sure her mother's pet rat was around when the boy was, but as he was afraid of mice, it was effective non-the-less.
The summer that the children turned thirteen, a blue searchdragon found them. Whether by luck or instinct, for she would not have left the troop without her brother, both of them were deemed fit for Candidacy. And so they were taken to Igen Weyr, where Andora Impressed to Delziath at her second standing, and Wilfred to Shelath a turn later. After that, life for Andora was normal for that of a greenrider, though she never lost her love of pranking others, she no longer had the need for it. Not many know just what she's capable of, since the few tricks that she has pulled have been small scale and not truly memorable.
Life was happy, normal, and just a little bit boring. So when the chance came to transfer to another weyr, she jumped at the chance. The change of scenery, the chance to help build upon a small weyr... The very thought of it excited the greenrider. True, she'd heard off and on that Dark Moon Weyr was 'cursed', as people tended to mutter of the place. However; those things simply just spurred her eagerness. After all, her beloved Oriel had been brought back from a transfer rider, come from the southern continent. The chance to see more of the rare 'lizards, maybe even to impress another sometime in her life, was yet another draw. The only drawback was that her brother did not want to transfer. So it came about that the brother and sister parted for the first time, Andora making the move to Dark Moon with a mixture of sadness and excitement.
Pets:
Dragon: Green Delzieth 5FB404
Dragon Appearance:
Subtle and sleek, Delzieth is quite the slip of a green. She is fluid and serpentine in every step, instinctively showing off her talent of being a graceful flier. Delzieth's graceful walk is even more enhanced by a stunning hide that ripples like shadows with her movements. A myriad of greens are splashed and streaked all down her form, as if a painter decided to use her as his canvas. And a willing canvas she is indeed, for Delzieth flaunts her hide for all she’s worth. A rich pine green stripe follows her spine all the way up from the tip of her tail to spread tendrils of ivy across her face in a spider-web design. Her flanks are painted in overlapping strips of forest and jade green with hints of spring green shining through. The jade green also spreads up and onto the undersides of her wings, a dark mat against the sky when viewed from below. Her upper wing membranes are a lighter shade of spring green, as if it has finally managed to break through the deeper colours of the rest of her hide and is shining for all it’s worth. Although she is smaller than most greens, she is not blunt-featured in any way, rather appearing like a miniature of her fellows. She is well-proportioned with narrow wings and an arching neck. There is also an elegance about Delzieth that more than compensates for her dainty form.
Dragon Personality:
The first thing that strikes one about Delzieth is her confident manner. She has poise, wit, and charm, and she knows it. Far from haughty, however, Delzieth is intelligent enough to use her charms rather than simply flaunting them. She has an unusual amount of ambition for a green dragon, and she knows how to work her way to the top. Although she is most skilled in manipulating males, even driving them to infatuation, her sweet manner can also disarm most humans and dragons alike. One thing anyone who gets near her will learn quickly is that Delzieth truly is a green who believes she’s a gold. She has no patience for her ditzy, sporadic sisters, for she is focused, cool, and far above them. No matter how much her rider argues with her, Delzieth will never accept that she is a mere green, for she views such a category as limiting, and she needs room to grow. This sometimes proves to be a bit of a conflict between rider and dragon, as it seems that Delzieth refuses to be sensible, but in most other matters she is quick to agree. She may be intelligent, after all, but her rider is wisdom sublime. She could only have picked a truly remarkable human to be her lifemate, thus she must demur to her own astuteness most of the time.
