The Weyrs have been disbanded, the riders have moved to the Southern Continent, to make homes for their own. The rest of the Pernese have expanded over the North. One Hold, called Corn, was created outside Lura Forest. This land had been left alone, it had grown lush and green in the time when thread didn't fall. This Hold grew, beside it a new hall for Harpers and those of the Beast-craft was built. For turns the hold was fine. And everyone grew to think Thread's reign of terror was truely over.
It wasn't.
Once thread began to fall again the North fell into chaos. The dragon riders were called back, and, eventually, they answered.
Corn was abandoned, as unprotected as it was, and too far from the nearest of the old Weyrs.
Once things had calmed, an old rouge rider went to seek solitude in the forest. In the old hall of Corn, he made his home. His friends and their families came, they flew against thread, but didn't care for the Holds otherwise.
Soon the need for hatching grounds came around. And the riders decided there was a need to make a proper Weyr, instead of settling for the remains of a hold. So they set out to find room for one. They started to look through Lura forest.
Deep into Lura they found a giant clearing. The vegetation had been mainly cleared as the ground was as hot as any Weyrs hatching sands. They assumed there was a volcano underneath and decided to build a their own Weyr there. They soon found that the 'volcano' couldn't be a volcano that it was actually a bore.
The ground was found to work, hatchings took place and all dragon eggs went cold. But something did 'happen' to the eggs... Something no one ever expected....
