Appearance: Laerin is around 5'3", but she always wishes she was taller. She has an athletic build, topped off with a mop of short brown hair. Blue eyes are set into fair skin. She has a small brown birthmark on her chin, but small enough so that it looks like a freckle. She is mostly seen in a tunic and pants of pastel colors. She saves wearing her beautiful rustic red dress for special occasions. She enjoys swimming and can be found near water, mostly in it.
Personality: Laerin is normally a sweet and lovable person. However, if things don't go well, she can get rather mean. If there's an argument anywhere, Laerin is bound to be there. Depending on her mood, she can be either very outgoing or very shy. But she's generally quiet, despite her loud moments. Laerin is not very tolerant towards children. She thinks their noisy and smelly. She was very excited when she was Searched, so she has put herself fully into her Candidate chores.
She has a fiery spirit underneath all of her self control. She is a little bit of a neat freak when dealing with her sleeping quarters and doesn‘t care if anyone says she‘s weird about it or not. She is polite and courteous when dealing with people of rank. She hopes to impress a dragon someday. She feels a bit awkward sometimes when a boy Candidate speaks to her.
History: Laerin was born to a mining family. She was inquisitive as a little girl could be. Always wanting to know about everything. She took it into her head to climb a tree. She climbed it, alright. She was close to the branches near the ground when her right foot slipped and she fell the rest of the way to the ground. Her brother had been nearby and had seen her fall. He picked her up and ran to the Infirmary. Luckily, all Laerin had gotten was a two inch long gash on the right side of her right knee. It was only a centimeter deep. She had only been five turns old.
She moved with her older brother to Harper Hall at the age of 9. Though it was hard to leave her large family, she discovered that music suited her. She helped around with running errands for the different Masters until she officially apprenticed to the Harper Hall. She was formally apprenticed to the Harper Hall at the age of 12, wanting very much to follow in her brother’s chosen craft. Laerin was not sure where she fit in as she grew older. She loved singing but she wasn’t very good. So she tried composition. She was an apprentice to the Harper Hall for a few Turns, but was always fascinated by the dragons. She eventually gave up on being Searched, even though all her friends thought it stupid- after all, there was still plenty of time! But a couple days after turning 15, she walked the tables. She was content, but dragonriding was still in her mind. When she went on a trip with a couple other Harpers to visit the Weyr, she fell in love with the place, and stayed there. A few short days later and she was Searched by a Greenrider. She was ecstatic!
