Christae smiled. "I'll make sure to get him to you. He's been a handful to keep track of. You'd swear the boy hadn't just been injured! Its amazing how resilient children are."
She gestured to Rhia, between people stopping to greet her and pausing to watch Impressions, the brownrider had already finished with the blue's wing.
"It seems she has it under control. She has much of the same training as I do, I simply have more because my position requires it. She was a runner healer back at her old hold but she never speaks of it anymore. Her family was killed by an outbreak of plague in that area."
The woman in question turned when her WW and friend approached with yet another Healer. "I was wondering when I'd get to meet you Master Healer Ragule. I'm glad you were so handy when little Chiron was injured. My twins would have hated to lose their playmate." The brownrider gave a warm smile as she offered a hand for a firm, not crushing or weak, handshake.
"Weyrwoman, we have a Journeyman Healer here from Caspian that just Impressed that pretty emerald green. Master Healer, you two might do well together."
Rhia turned to answer K'ael. "Nonsense K'ael. The dragons always know and if you hadn't been here, she would have gone *between.* Never think that you are causing trouble just because a dragonet chose you. Yes, you stay at Dark Moon. Perhaps we can make arrangements for a Healer to be brought to Caspian in your place but once Osaith is flying and you're out of Weyrlinghood you can visit in your free time."

[Tanwen's still feeding, not much else to reply to for her xD;]
Vaelryn gave a quick applaud for each of the impressed candidates around them, watching then as the green dragonet wandered over towards the stands and actually began to climb the stairs. Not long after a young man came down and joined the green to lead her off the sands. He hadn't heard much about hatchings before, so he hadn't been expecting that any dragonets would impress to someone off the sands.
The boy looked back towards the eggs and the dragonets still sitting or wandering the sands. Some of them were taking their time before choosing someone to go along with, as opposed to the others who came out of the shell running and didn't stop until they reached the one they'd chosen. He wondered if dragonets ever hatched that didn't pick someone to impress, but at the same time he had no idea what would happen to such a dragon, so he thought that question was better off unanswered - at least in the sense that he didn't want to see it played out.

Ragule nodded, and returned the handshake. "It is nice to meet you, ma'am." He greeted. "Chiron would have lived ... but I am glad I was able to help." Ragule nodded, humbly, before reaching up to grab Torc when the old brown suddenly tried to dive down forward onto a dragonet's head. "Stop it." He reprimanded gently, setting the brown back up atop his shoulder.
"Indeed? Well, congratulations to him on impressing. It is not every day nor everyone who receives that honor." Ragule inclined his head slightly, toward the new Weyrling healer. "K'ael."
"It was nice to meet all of you, but I do beleive there is a lad that still needs some attention. I will return shortly." And with that, Ragule continued on, to where the lad with the cuts was standing with his new dragon. "If you are ready, I'll take care of those cuts for you." He told the lad. They appeared to be minor enough. But even so, they would need cleaning and tending to. No stitches, though - they didn't look deep enough for that. Washed, disinfected. And likely they could be left that way. Not even serious enough for any bandaging.

Relina kept feeding Soranith and looked around, she was truly happy for the first time since she got Zorn. Watching all the dragons Impress gave her a sense of security. She looked at Soranith who continued to gobble the food she was given and felt love and proud. This was her dragon, her partner, her friend. This dragon would obey no one but her.
She smiled as she reached out with her other hand and gently stroked Soranith's neck and back while still feeding her. She felt nothing but love for the creature as she continued to eat. She was glad she had a dragon of her own and she was grateful to the creature, who would help her learn about herself and others, she just knew she would. Soranith looked at her, still not stopping her intake of food.
Yes, we have much to work on, but we will work on it together. But first I must eat. We will talk more about this later. The little green said as she finished up the slice that Relina was giving her.
She was starting to be full and Relina could feel it. Relina smiled as she stopped feeding Soranith and moved the bucket of remaining meat away, which wasn't much. Soranith licked her chops and looked at Relina. She waddled over to her and laid her head in her lap while letting the rest of her body curl around her. Relina smiled and started petting the creature and she looked up at the Weyrling Master. "My dragon is full now, what is the next step Master?" She asked formally as Soranith and Zorn looked at each other and got to know each other.

K’ael felt rather awkward with the other candidates. The oldest one was Nineteen Turns, K’ael had three turns on that. He was closer in age to the CandidateMaster! People his age shouldn’t be Impressing, oh no. He listened to Rhia as she introduced him to the WeyrWoman. K’ael quickly bowed his head humbly, “I apologize for any inconvenience, WeyrWoman.”
He straightened and returned his attention to Rhia. The panic in his eyes dimmed, replaced by a soft glimmer. “Thank you CandidateMaster. I’m afraid I will be relying on you for a while until I can get the hang of things here.” He felt eternally grateful to the brownrider, he could see how she had managed to Impress a brown now. She had a strong sense of self and was obviously a hard worker. He bowed his head to the Ragule in a silent thank you for the congratulations. He would have shaken the Healer’s hand but well, the meat from the blood was on it and he didn’t want to get anyone dirty.
“Please, excuse me. I’m taking up your time and there are many other candidates.” K’ael said with a soft laugh and a smile. If he wanted to become comfortable at the idea he was now a Weyrling, there was only one thing to do. Socialize. He looked around, spotting a lone girl who also had a green dragon by her side. He walked over to the, Osaith by his side. “Pardon me. But I’m afraid I’m new at this entire thing. Would it be alright if I stayed near you?” K’ael asked Tanwen with a slightly sheepish, crooked smile. They both had green dragons so at least if K’ael needed a conversation starter, there was that.

The fallow brown finally decided to quit taking his time and seek out his chosen. Most of the Candidates had been chosen already and all but a few of the eggs had hatched. He headed, not towards the boys like everyone expected, but towards the girls. Rayne, your Llanwreth is here. Please, feed me. Why does your head hurt? His voice was sensible.

Ez had watched, many had impressed in the mean time, a Candidate called Relina (judging by the cheering that came from another) impressed another green, someone who didn’t expect to impress, also impressed to a green, a brown, and another blue. He was still on edge, worried and concerned about being so close to the eggs that were shattering, cracking, breaking, spilling their hatchlings onto the sand, all about him.
He’d been keeping an eye of the brown, the peculiar one, with the Khaki wings, and the tan stripe on his face – simply because the creature had been so close to him when he hatched. Ez tasted a little of the blood from the scratch along his cheekbone, shallow face wounds always bled a lot. Iron tang swamping his taste buds.
But then a moment of pure clarity. A voice. In his mind. Echoed like the sound does in the silence that forms before the first storm of the summer. Garisath is hungry Ez'ki mine. Won't you feed me? Ez made to reply in the same way, but the connection was fuzzy, and he felt himself drifiting in and out of the link that was currently somewhat tenuous, likely because of his lack of being used to it. I almost couldn't find you. I walked right past you. Ez listened, certainly, Garisath was correct. The brown had paid little to no attention to him until now – despite Ez’s attempts to avoid the hatchling. You hurt! The final sentence filled his mind, Ez smiled, a gentle, kind smile, that wasn’t deemed as regular for his lips.
“Aye, but it’s nothing.” He wouldn’t tell the hatchling that he’d done that, despite the fact he was recalling the incident in his mind with perfect clarity – well the clarity he had on the situation, the hatching of the brown – His brown, Garisath - and then, the shards flying, and then the blood.
That was my fault! I am sorry my new one, I didn’t mean to create a problem already.
Ez soothed the creature, “I thought you were hugry? Don’t concern yourself with me – I shall be just fine.” more than fine. I heard that. But Garisath’s tone was warm like honey, It made Ez smile. He coaxed the brown away from the sands, over to the meat, where he slowly fed the brown, eying the creature all the while as the dragonet scoffed chunk, only kept in check by Ez’s vigilant care for the creature. His creature. His own, Garisath.
Rhia was right. unaldultered, unconditional love.
((Psssst Marnark? Was Ragule approaching Ez there? Without some sort of indication, I was a bit o.o could he?... mahbeh? Be? And all uncertainties are… weird in my head xD))

Zigana hadn't even been paying attention to hatching eggs or Impressions that were going on. She was much too busy internally fretting, freaking out, wondering what she would do when she didn't Impress. She missed her home, but thought that if she had to return, denied of this chance, she'd go mad. She'd go completely and totally mad. To have to go home, to go back to her old life, to old routines...She didn't think she'd be able to handle it. She really didn't. So what could she do? She wasn’t going to move away on her own and she wasn’t going to make her family uproot themselves. That just wasn’t going to happen. Maybe she could stay here though…She’d feel like a wherry asking, but it could be a possibility. Maybe she could take care of runners. And if not here, somewhere else. That would be good… Lost in her musing, Zigana only realized what was going on on the Sands when she heard a loud noise, a bellow, that startled her from her thoughts. Dark eyes went wide and her cheeks bloomed scarlet. The girl stumbled backward, a gasp rising. A green was coming her way, a blue charging her down. He was the one who had made the noise. Zigana stumbled back even farther, fear rising up to clog her throat. Oh shards. The blue shouldered his clutchmate aside and collided with a girl, another one of the candidates. The fear was rising higher, higher in her. She was certain she was going to die. She was certain that some sort of calamity was about to descend. But it didn’t. What happened instead was acute in its shock. Zigana! I will not let her take you. She is unworthy of you. Come feed your Calormieth! I will not let anyone harm you!Zigana gasped as rainbow eyes turned her way. Eyes went wide again and she fell to her knees, holding the wedge-shaped head in shaking, tanned hands. “Oh.” The word was simple, was comparatively nothing. But in it worlds had been revealed, whole new universes were unveiled. Yes, darling. Of course. Of course, Calormeith. Now! Please. I am hungry. So very hungry. But so glad I found you. Head rubbed against her chest in a gesture that she’d associated with felines when they wanted pettings. Hand fell and she scratched at an eyeride, gazing with wonder into faceted eyes. “Of course,” she murmured aloud, standing slowly, unable to look away from the blue. From Calormeith. From her dragon. “Come along.” And so the blue and his rider trotted away, off to food, the very beginning of what the hoped would be a long life. Together. ---------- Nerves were rising now, sickening in their intensity, within Salina’s stomach. Around her, Impressions were happening, dragons spilling from shells, slimy from their duration within their eggs. Salina swallowed, feeling the firelizard-sized butterflies cavorting like acrobats within her stomach. But she fought to keep her face smooth, fought for her control and her confidence. This would happen. Her dragon would come. It would. She just needed to wait. She fought hard and won the battle. Her face remained smooth, her eyes clear and her head held high. Around her, she watched the Impressions, noting idly who had Impressed and who hadn’t. Yet. But when she saw a green go into the stands, her confidence wavered. They didn’t have a huge clutch her…If a dragon was going into the stands for their bonded…Others could too… She rallied, inhaling deeply. It was fine. It was all fine. Everything was going to be just fine. There was no reason to fret. There was no reason to worry. But it picked at her insidiously, twisting at her stomach, gleeful little hands brushing darkly over her, telling her that it wasn’t, that her dreams weren’t going to happen, that she was going to be left on the Sands. Alone. The only one. She saw the strange-colored brown move, saw rainbow eyes connect with those of her best friend. Shock rippled through her and then happiness. She grinned broadly, radiant. Who would have thought? Ez Impressing a brown. Shards, they were in for it now… And now, she was left alone with her thoughts. With her fears and her doubts. Staring at the churning Stands, feeling piteously alone. It will happen, she assured herself. But she wasn’t sure at all.

Rayne, your Llanwreth is here. Please, feed me. Why does your head hurt?
A brown? Sure, the Candidate Master had one, why couldn't she? Rayn's mouth split into a heavenly smile, one that she mostly only showed to things that weren't human. Ahhh...Llanwreth... I hit my head in my excitement to come and see you. But don't worry, I can barely feel it now that your here.
Rayn couldn't help but kneel and pull his wedge shaped head in for a gentle hug. She felt so motherly to Llanwreth, but then, she supposed it was just her normal behavior with her animals times 100, no 1000!
Rayn stood and brushed the sand off of her leather breaches, her smile still beaming for all to see. Let them look, she would beat up the guys later.
Raynmine, may we please go get me something to eat?
Of course!! I'm gonna do that right now... and my, aren't you polite. My little Llanwreth has manners! Rayn turned to where all the new impressed weyrling were going but then turned back.
"Ah, Andy... Admin's Note:
I impressed!!! His name is Llanwreth and I'm gonna go feed him. Good luck!!" She hoped her sword sister would indeed impress, but... well, the eggs were few now and the dragons as well. She waved at her friend and patted her dragon affectionately, leading him off to feed him.
((will post more later... am being dragged away!! XD))

Relina looked around at the other candidates and Weyrlings. More dragons were Impressing and yet there were still some who were yet to even be out of their shells! She felt sorry for the creatures not free of their hard containers and hoped they would make it out, but only her own dragon and fire-lizard sensed this for it did not, or could not, reach her face. Soranith looked at her, her eyes the color of unsurety.
Something bothers you, yet you do not show it. I know only because of our connection. Why do I not see it outside of your mind? The green said, almost scolding. Relina looked solemnly at her dragon. Because, showing your feelings is weakness, allowing others to know of your emotions gives them the abilty to use them against you for their own purposes. She responded mentally, shutting her eyes tight in a futile attempt to drive back her terrible memories brought on by her explaination.
Soranith forgot her confusion as her eyes went from orange to purple to bluish green, showing her transition from confusion to feeling her life-partners stress to her need to comfort Relina.
No need to be upset, we shall discuss this matter later. Right now, you need to get over this and be happy! We have found each other at last, is that not worth celebrating? She asked her rider. Relina nodded and hugged her dragons head. You are right, I have dreamed of this day long before I met Zorn, I should be happy. Thank you. Relina responded. Soranith's eyes whirled green showing how pleased she was as Relina stood up and looked around, watching more of the dragons Impress.

((Pan, yes, Ragule is waiting by the meat tables))
When Ez arrived at the tables with his new brown dragon in tow, Ragule was there and waiting for him. "Give him a few peices to placate him for a few minutes, and then let me take care of those cuts of yours." Ragule told the lad, his bag already opened with some of the contents out.
Torc, this time, could not be stopped. He hopped down off the bag where it was on a clear spot on the table, and then winged his way over to the dragonet. Chirping a greeting, the old brown flitter landed lightly on the dragonet's head and started insudtriously scratching at the new dragon's earknobs, thrumming a happy tune. Babies! Babies! Babies were always such a happy event! And the old fellow just couldn't help himself. He wanted to share the happiness, and greet the new ones to the world properly!
The rag that Ragule was holding was already damp with redwort to cleanse the scratches. He also had some wintergreen tincture handy. That would not only cleanse, but it was an astringent that would help the bleeding stop. He planned to follow that up with numbweed, to take the sting out of the cuts ... especially that facial one. While none of them were serious, they would still need being left alone if they were going to heal without any scarring.
If they itched or stung enough to get picked at, then they would heal slowly if at all, resulting in scarring. Which was something Ragule did not want. Especially since the longer a wound was left unhealed, the greater the chances of infection ... even for just shallow cuts!

The olive green dragonet bumped her head gently against the calf of her bonded. She emitted a sweet croon as the colors of Impression changed the red of her eyes to rainbow. She twined her tail around her bonded's leg. She was very reminiscent of a feline. Her mindvoice was gentle, subtle. Trails of feather-like tingles followed her thoughts, though hidden beneath that coy, feminine coo was the power to become nasty when provoked. At the moment, however, her voice spoke only love, full and complete, for the one she had chosen. V'ael, mine. I have found you. Will you stay with me? Take me to food, your Aeydrith is hungry!OOC: 808000

Kallan yawned leisurely as he stretched in his new cot. He blinked when he noticed the light streaming in. Well, wasn't that something? He'd slept in. Not that often it could happen in a Weyr. Closing his mouth with a snap he nodded, yeppers this was to be enjoyed. It was going to be a lazy day. He'd just shirk his duties and go play in the lake or something. He'd maybe find a friend to drag off too.
First though, he'd need breakfast. Before even that he should get dressed. He flipped the covers to the side and riffled through his clothes trying to find something less dirty than the general pile. He wondered who cleaned them. Maybe drudges, although if they could find the clothes it'd be a Pern miracle. Hmmm, he'd have to ask someone about it. Ez would know, he's all about clothing.
He picked up a shirt and sniffed it, well, that smelled practically clean! He thought they were all dirty, with more enthusiasm he found some pants that would serve. A quick slipping on of shoes and the guy was out of the Candidate living quarters. Herm, now what was his chores today? He had to make sure it was something simple so he wouldn't be caught and yelled out. He hadn't gotten yelled at by Rhia yet, but he was sure she could bellow. Wait a minute, they didn't have chores today 'cause it was touch the eggs day!
Touch the eggs day! And he was missing it, ohmaigoodnesshehadtohurrynow'causeeggsweretehcoolest. As his mind geared up to a million miles so did his feet. He was right in the Hatching Sands in two candlemarks time. "They lied!" It wasn't a Touching day, they were hatching and he missed it! This was just so wrong. What about the humming and stuff wasn't that supposed to be so loud and wake him. With a pouty look on his face he hurried bowed to Kaith before moving forward. Already most eggs had hatched. His only solace being that dragons knew who they were to Impress, his dragon would have waited on him.

Vessayith's appetite seemed to be dwindling now that she'd eaten a good amount of meat. Tanwen grabbed a scrap of cloth laying around where the meat was and wiped off most of the blood on her hands from the raw meat, letting out a sigh afterward and sliding down against a nearby wall to sit by the quickly-becoming-sleepy jade green dragonet.
I told you you didn't need another bowl, Tanwen said, resting her hand on the top of Vessayith's neck.
I could have eaten it, the green disagreed, though her previously energetic tone had mellowed down now as her eyelids drooped slightly. Remembering Rhia's pre-lesson speech, Tanwen had a feeling Vessayith would be one of the dragonets to need to be dropped back at the barracks before she went to the hatching feast.

Vaelryn had been stretching his attention so thin that he hadn't been paying attention too closely to any one dragon in particular. He'd been so distracted that he didn't notice one of the greens walking towards him, and so when something bumped gently against his leg he did not expect to look down into the rainbow colored eyes of a little olive green. He glanced over to her tail as it twined caringly around his leg, looking back into her eyes when a voice - and an entire mind - spread throughout his own. Vaelryn's eyes widened at the words spoken.
V'ael, Mine. I have found you. Will you stay with me? Take me to food, your Aeydrith is hungry!
"W-what... Admin's Note:
" V'ael stammered, reaching out a hand to rest it on top of the green's head. She crooned and nudged his hand back. "How couldn't I stay?" V'ael asked, a serene sort of smile now settled across his features. He crouched by Aeydrith to run his hand under her chin, her second request lost to his mind in the aftermath of impression-induced-joy.
V'aelmine, could I please be fed soon? I am very hungry.
The young vintyr - now young dragonrider - snapped out of his reverie and stood up straight. "Aye!" he said, blinking then and closing his mouth. I mean, yes Aeydrith, of course ye can. V'ael turned towards where the other newly impressed pairs had been heading for food, stepping carefully out of the tail wound around his legs, and leading the olive green off the sands.
"Candidate Master?" he asked over to Rhia when he got there, "Where do we get the meat from"
[Heeee <3 She's so adorable. I really love the felinic aspect of her personality. You can bet I'll be playing off that for her whole life~~
Funny though, how her font color is so similar to Kaeniths xD]

A brilliant, sapphire blue dragonet emerged from a shell that had cracked but then remained still for a while, as if its occupant was gathering itself for one last effort. This little blue would be a patient lad, but also a stubborn one. His hide was as bright a blue as an emerald was a bright green. He is a trusting dragon, one that likes to believe the best of people, though this often gets him taken advantage of a lot. His hide has subtle variations of color but nothing too drastic. He would be slightly larger than a medium sized blue, agile like most of his brethren. OOC: some idea of his hide www.auniqueidea.com/Sapphire_Blue_op_600x600.jpg

It seemed like everyone Z’ayr knew were Impressing quickly. Rayn had managed to get a beautiful soft brown which meant she was now the second female brownrider in Dark Moon. A rather nice title if Z’ayr thought so himself. He clapped loudly for the girl and frowned slightly at the fact Andilay was still on the sands. In Z’ayrs mind she looked rather lonely without Rayn there and he hoped she would Impress quickly so she could rejoin her friend.
Z’ayr turned his attention away from the two girls, watching the olive green wrap her tail around a candidates leg. A candidate that was…Vaelryn? Well, V’ael now but still! This was quite the exciting news. The boy had Impressed! Of course Z’ayrs cheers once more split into the air. More wooing, clapping and a loud ‘Congratulations!’ burst from the blueriders mouth. He had the faint idea that he was probably embarrassing V’ael – few people liked the idea of having attention called to themselves this way. Not that it mattered to Z’ayr, he would be as loud as he wanted.
Ooc|| Tanwen looked lonely so I sent K’ael to go chat it up with her in my last post Kino c: Also there’s not much to post for Faine so I’ll wait until there’s a wee bit more~

[Ohhh, okay. Well I'll just leave my last post and say that happened before he went over to her and Ill respond to him now xD; ]
Tanwen looked over to the man when he stepped over and started speaking, her face immediately falling into the usual squinted-eye look that she had adapted to put on when anyone she didn't know came over to her throughout her life. She reminded herself, though, of how she'd been trying to be more friendly - at the least, more polite - to people here at the Weyr on the chance that she'd impressed and would stay living there permanently. Well, now there was a beautiful little green laying sleepily on the floor with her head resting on her knee, and there was no question about her permanent residence at Dark Moon.
"Of...course," she said, managing to offer a sort of smile to the man. He wouldn't know it, but she was still rather new to 'this entire thing' as well, though in her case 'this entire thing' was not immediately snapping at anyone who tried to get to know her. L'der was an exception; she had no problem still snapping at him whenever he so deserved it. "Whats her name?" she asked, figuring she might as well try and talk to the guy.
- - -
Just after V'ael had asked the question of Rhia he heard Z'ayr's familiar shouting coming down from the stands, along with a very loudly shouted congratulations. The new weyrling looked up and towards where he heard the shouting, though any embarrassment he might've had the first time Z'ayr shouted towards him was overtaken by the feelings of impression and so he smiled back up to Z'ayr and waved to show that he appreciated the encouragement.
[Just thought I'd throw in that moment of recognition while V'ael is waiting for Rhia xP]

Andilay stood patiently, watching each hatching and clapping appropriately for each impression. She made sure to nod and clap for Rayn when her brown found her. "Congrats, my friend. Take good care of him."
Andilay glanced at the few eggs that were still left. Why did her instinct tell her she was not needed here? Was her's not yet born? Her instinct had always told her the truth of things. Warnings and the such. It made her linger for three days at the inn where she eventually met Rayn... She would stay. Her instinct did not tell her she needed to leave, just that she was not 'needed'.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another female brownrider? How interesting!! Verdann clapped and whistled enthusiastically, unaware that he may be flogged by Rayn later for his overzealousness.
His attention was taken, however, by a newly hatched blue dragonett. He was quite the beauty, in his sapphire wonder. The color reminded him of the deep night lightly fading in the dawn, except, more vivid... if that made any sense. He seemed to have a quite patience, much like the sky he reminded Verdann of.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rayn nodded to her friend and led Llanwreth over to where the Candidate Master stood, instructing the others in dragonology. Don't let them over eat, right. She could be stern, she was a swordswoman after all. She accepted a bowl from a drudge and thanked her with a smile that made the woman blink in surprise."Here you are, Llanwreth. Eat your fill, but not too fast, ok?"
As you wish, Raynmine. But your Llanwreth is most hungry. The fallow dragon dug into the bowl, but instead of just gulping down the meat, like she saw a few dragonetts do, he chewed with great purpose and swallowed before going for more.
Rayn wondered if her mouth was hanging open. She had impressed a leisurely gentleman of a dragon!! How surprising! But then.. he would do well with her, she thought.

Relina looked away from the un-Impressed dragons and looked around at her fellow Weyrlings and the people yet to Impress, including Verdann, the first person she met who was kind enough to show her and Zorn to food. She saw a few latecomers and gave a low chuckle but what had surprised her was the fact that her, dare she say it, friend Faine was not with the brown she was staring at that stared back when she Impressed Soranith and she was puzzled.
Her eyes lit up and she looked at her dragon, now realizing she not only had a friend in Soranith who would give her unconditional love, but she also had a tool in Soranith to help identify friend from foe. Why is Faine not with her dragon, my Soranith? Should she not be over here, feeding him? She inquired, feeling slightly empowered at now having the ability to ask her dragon nearly any question and being able to get an answer for it. Soranith raised her head to look Relina in the eye, blocking her view of the rest of the sands.
My brother Impressed on another. That girl has no dragon. She replied in a matter-of-fact way. But I saw Impression Soranith! Relina retorted. She was internally amused, she was having her first arguement with her dragon.
You saw two living things observing one another. That is not Impression, that is learning about what is around you. Our riders are the center of our every thought and action, but they are not all that exists in our world, just as we as your partners are not all that exists in yours. Your friend has yet to Impress, if she Impresses at all. Satisfied? She replied with a bit of sourness, reflecting on her sassy personality.
Relina gasped and pushed Soranith's head gently to the side, looking at Faine, feeling something weird in her stomach when she learned Faine had indeed not Impressed. What am I feeling Soranith? It feels weird. You feel guilt, an emotion that is new to you? Soranith asked. Relina shook her head. An emotion long forgotten... Soranith, will you walk with me? She asked looking back at her dragon. The dragon lowered her head in an awkward nod. Always. Was the only thing she said.
Relina smiled and began walking toward Faine, her dragon close behind, getting used to walking. Relina smirked as she approached the girl. "No Impression yet?" She said with her usual bitterness, though, it was not as bitter toward Faine as it had been with others. Something about this girl made Relina want to trust her and care for her, she felt strangly close to her as she and Soranith stopped at a couple of arms length from her.
