Three candlemarks later, Tali awoke to see Veran still with her and the food set beside her. She smiled softly at Veran and looked at her wounds. Her body still stung.
"It still hurts. How long is it going to?" she asked. She had respect for Rogin, now. The torture taught her to be strong. Afterwards, she felt different. Even her voice changed slightly but was noticable to the trained ear. She was never the same after that. Tali was more respectful and cold at the same time. "My eyes burn." she said.

Veran smiled, "It will hurt for a while. You should rest a bit longer. I will wake you later to eat. Just rest." he said. "I am sure once you are better Rogin will wish to speak to you. And you will need to be strong when your test comes. Make him proud of you."

Still exhausted, Tali sighed in content and settled down and went back to sleep. She had been through a lot these past few months. She felt safe with Veran watching her. Ironic that she did due to her first meeting. Her punishments with Veran had made her realize that she had been going about this wrong. Rogin ran everything. He saw everything and knew all. There was nothing that could get passed him.

Veran let her sleep. HE kept watch on her wounds and once he felt she rested long enough he woke her gently. "Time to eat. Sit up slowly." he helped her sit up and held the plate for her. "Open your mouth and I will feed you. Save your strength." He sat behind her so she was against him, allowing her to relax her body. HE was about to feed her when Rogin walked in again.
Rogin came in and saw that Veran was going to feed her. He nodded to Veran and they traded places. Even with something like this Veran never argued. Veran allowed Rogin to switch and gave him the food. Rogin smiled and held Talavi gently against him. His body cradling hers into him. He had his arms around her as he brought food to her mouth. "Eat up. I need you strong." he said.

Tali looked at Rogin and smiled.
"This is what a father should do. Take care of his own." She opened her mouth as a tear rolled down her face. "My father never did that."

Rogin looked at her and smiled. "Shhh." he made the noise soflt, not wanting any form of harsh to come through. He looked at her, "Do not think of that person. He is not your family. We are. Now open your mouth." He said. Rogin put a small piece of a meat roll to her lips with his fingers. The roll had a gravy on it that allowed it to be easier to chew so she had less work. He kind of liked her body leaning back against him.

Tali smiled and sighed happily. She chewed it slowly and then swallowed. No one has ever taken care of her. She liked being close to Rogin. She snuggled up into his chest. He made her feel safe. She nodded.

Rogin didnt seem to notice. He continued to feed her. And took a cup of klah and put it to her lips. Inside was some medicine Veran made to help numb the body when in pain. He looked at her better and thought it might be too hard to make her drink it. Instead he took a bit into his mouth and repositioned her and put his lips to hers. He eased her mouth open with his own and let the klah go from his mouth into hers. He moved his lips closed to close hers and looked at her.

"Mmm...tastes good." Tali said. She looked up at Rogin and chuckled. She coughed as she did so. She was thankful for him saving her. She had a softer side as well though hardly anyone saw it. She imagined herself as a big ox, big and mean.
"I love you, Father." she said. It sounded a little odd saying that. Especially if she didn't say it all with her mother. She hated that. It pained her not to say that to her mother. She loved her mom very much yet she didn't.
Fact. Ciequar abandoned her.
Fact. Ciequar left her to die and didn't return.
Fact. Ciequar didn't care care or love her enough to take with.
All those facts added up until there was a mountain of them. All negative as to why she disliked her mom. It hurt her to think that her own mother didn't even want her. A tear rolled down her cheek and another. It would take some time for her to get over this recent knowledge that her mother didn't want her. Her father she could forget easily but the woman who gave birth to her, it would take her a lot longer to adjust to the this newly discovered fact.
Tali looked up at Rogin again with tears in her eyes. She wiped them off with on of the furs on the ground but they were retreating instead they were coming on in an onslaught of sadness.

Rogin looked at her tear soaked face and sighed. "Go ahead and cry. Let it out so once it is over none will see you this weak again. None should. I will take care of everything." Rogin put the food and klah down next to him and put his arms around her. He let her cry. "I Love you too. Now relax and let it out. Your family has you now." Rogin looked at her and kissed her forehead holding her gently. He rubbed her back and didn't say anything after.

She heard the sound of Rogin's soothing voice. Tali put her face in his tunic and cried.
"My own mom doesn't want me. Why?" she asked, not expecting anyone to answer. "She has cared for me and then she left me with that...that _monster!_ I don't think she ever did, Father. She never once told me that she loved me now I know why. She hates me, Rogin. She hates me!" She sobbed more but there was anger in her voice. "How could she? You say the ultimate crime against a family member is betrayal. Well, she has betrayed me and lied to me. I want to cause her pain. The more pain, the better." She cried more and let it out.

Rogin held her and let her cry. Once he was sure she worked out most of it he answered. "No. Don't. The best way to harm her is to stay with me and life and do not see her again. If she finds you she doesn't exist. SHe has betrayed you but do not be like her." Rogin rubbed her back and kissed her head. "Do you want another bite?" he asked

Tali closed her eyes and nodded. "I will stay with you. I never want to see her again. Anythings better than exile." She opened her mouth for another bite.

Rogin smiled and held another piece of food into her mouth. "Enjoy the time off you will be having. I will be sure to check on you often. Alright? If you need anything at all then let me know. Rogin let her chew and swallow that one while he got another piece ready and put it in front of her mouth again.

She didn't want to be left alone but she also knew that Rogin had other things to do. She nodded. "I would anything for you, Rogin." Suddenly she had an insatiable urge to kiss him on the lips but she resisted. She wouldn't would him to be angry with her again. It showed in her eyes, though.

Rogin looked at her and smiled. "Are you thirsty" he asked. He picked up the mug of klah and took a small sip. Rogin looked at Talavi and bent his head down to repeat how he last gave her the klah.

Knowing how he reacted toward her hug the first time, she remained hesitant to make any other moves on him. She took the klah from his lips.
"That's nice." she smiled, softly. She was also not very confident due to her dead fathers treatment. She liked Rogin but didn't have the confidence to tell him or the self-esteem. Who would want a bratty little idiot child for a lover, anyway? She was always down on herself, thinking that she wasn't good enough or calling herself negative things. It was a bad habit that she needed to break.
"Rogin?" she sighed. "I wonder if you could help with something. I don't have confidence and I have low self-esteem. I don't see myself as pretty, I see myself as ugly. I would like to change that."

Rogin looked at her a little more then surprised. "THat isn't really an area I can help you with. Ask Tia. I think female help is what you really need. I am sure she will help you if you asked her. After all she is your sister now." Rogin looked at her and smiled. He chuckled a bit and eased her back down onto the furs. "Rest now. I will save the food and klah for another time. THen I will come back and care for you again." He rubbed Talavi's lip gently with his thumb. He smiled and kissed her lips and nipped on her bottom playfully. He wasn't trying to flirt but it came out anyways. When ever he tried to be nice it would turn into him flirting, even if he didn't realize it.

Tali would have kissed back if her body didn't feel like mush. She nodded. She sighed, happily and closed her eyes. In her weakened state, she couldn't act upon her desires for Rogin. She didn't even if he felt the same way as she did. That kiss was nice. She cursed herself for her feelings. She was actually very beautiful but she didn't think so. She thought she was as ugly as can be.

Rogin left her to rest. He busied himself for the rest of the time with other chores he needed to do and training he had to teach. He came back to Talavi through out the day to check on her.
