K'dan shrugged his shoulders. He was a bit thrown by the refusal of help, but just brushed it off. K'dan had a knack for doing that sort of thing. He simply walked back over to Hydrath and patted his leg.
A few moments later, Anassa arrived some distance away. When she greeted them, K'dan nodded and gave a slight wave with one of his hands. It seemed like a pretty busy day today, seeing the comings and goings of the people. Something about it seemed to rejuvinate K'dan, and he couldn't wait to get underway and help.

Anassa nodded. "Give me a few minutes to bring this message in to Weyrwoman Christae and let her know that Priath has Searched you. I'm certain she'll give clearance for me to take you back to your station to get your transfer papers in. If you want to pack while you're there I can wait or pick you up when I'm on the way back from giving Christae's reply to Southern Hold."
"Unless you want to stay at your station a while, I can bring you back here tonight. I'm afraid that the stonemasons are working on the Candidate Barracks shoring up some cracks but the Candidates are housed in the Lower Caverns for now."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
T'ren was done in no time. "Whenever you guys are ready, have your dragons grasp the ropes of the nets." He picked up the ones in question. "Take them in their claws and pick them up. They will have to lift off at the same time."
"Once everyone is in the air, I'll give Danaeth the coordinates and we'll head off to my parent's hold."
T'ren moved to his dragon, putting his riding helmet and shrugging into his jacket. Danaeth moved over to his net and gripped the lines with his claws. It looked rather strange to see him mincing around like that. Danaeth bent to allow T'ren to mount. The lanky redhead leapt to the dragon's back and slipped his legs into the riding straps.
"Let's go Danae. The others will join us in the air when they are ready."
Naret's smile had gradually broadened as the conversation between him and Anassa went on. He turned down to write on the notepad in reply even a bit before she'd finished speaking, writing a bit quicker than he had at the first exchange. If he'd been able to speak, he likely would have been chattering with excitement at this point. Sure he never thought he had a chance at being searched, but what Pernese youth didn't dream of it? He offered the notepad for her to read.
I'll pack and wait for your return Tonight sounds great
Anassa remembered her own excitement when she had been Searched. She liked being a Harper, but Priath was ever so much more important to her than a career. She could still sing and play even though she was no longer technically a Harper Apprentice. She'd tried to keep up with her studies but it was hard without a full Harper at the Weyr. "I'll be back soon." She strode off, reaching up to wipe the sweat from her forehead. The day was a scorcher, but that was nothing new in the Southern Continent. She obtained the necessary hides to transfer the lad and was back in a few minutes.
"Well, let's go. This gear is hot to be standing around in. I'll drop you off at your station and speak to your Station Master and then go drop off my message. I'll come back for you after." Priath sank to the ground so that her rider could help the boy up. She'd have to rig the straps to hold both of them.
Naret nodded in reply when Anassa said she'd be back. He turned his attention down to the feline by his feet when she was gone, crouching and lifting him up to rest him against his shoulder. The bronze flit secured in one of his side pouches, having been his usual quiet self during the conversation, watched Ikarit's tale curiously. Even as Naret held the feline, Ikarit was eyeing the dragon warily. The youth had been watching Ikarit's reaction to the dragon when Anassa came back.
He gave a nod when she said they'd be going, walking towards the Rider and Dragon when the green crouched down for them. Ikarit reacted immediately, digging his claws in at first and then -- once realizing he wasn't going to stop going towards the dragon -- leaping over Naret's shoulder and back to the sands of the bowl, skittering off until he was a decent distance away, and then settling on his haunches to watch the two and the dragon. Naret watched the feline for a moment and sighed. But...he supposed since he was returning there, Ikarit should be fine until he was back. It likely wouldn't be more than a day. Naret turned back and stepped the rest of the way to Anassa, giving a nod to show he was ready to climb up whenever.
[And if you want, once they climb up, you can fly off and scene skip. I'll let you choose what forum to post in xD]
Anassa showed the boy how to shimmy up the dragon's side and then climbed back down to boost him onto Priath's offered forearm and then up onto her back. She settled him between the neck ridges and looped his feet into the straps. She'd rig her waist strap around both of them and that would be ample protection against a fall. She was far more used to balancing on her green than the runner was so she didn't really need her leg straps. Besides, they wouldn't be doing any special aerial maneuvers.
"He should be fine until we get back." She said, referring to the feline. "You might have trouble finding his hiding place though. I'll help you look if he gets lost."
Ready?
"Priath wants to know if we're ready. She wants to sun and the sooner we get our errands done the sooner she can sun." She waited for him to tell her she was ready and gave the dragon the signal to lift off.
OOC: Any posts like this would either be in the Weyr Bowl or outside the Weyr since they are going to the station
Once he'd been strapped in properly by the rider and she was settling behind him, Naret made one last check to make sure the little bronze in his side pouch was secure. When she asked if he was ready to go, he lifted his hand and gave her a thumbs up. No time like the present to get going, after all - and he was just as eager as Priath to get this over with, to become a dragonrider candidate.
[That's fine. I more meant if you wanted to post the landing in caspian hold, you can pick whatever forum is going on there to put him in. Or we can just do a scene skip, but depending on what's going on (i really haven't been keeping up) it might be interesting for him to interact with people there as he's getting ready to leave xD]
K'dan put on the rest of his riding gear, having removed his helmet and jacket. When he was ready, Hydrath lowered for his rider to mount. Once K'dan was mounted, the blue grasped the net in his claws. Hydrath waited for the yellow to do the same. When she was ready, Hydrath lifted up slowly with her and took to the skies.
After everything was ready, T'ren had Danaeth clutch the net in his claws. The brown launched himself carefully but easily. He didn't want to tangle the net up.
T'ren visualized his home hold. The sea-wind blowing. The men outside one of the ships with half-furled masts, unloading barrels of fish. The women were off to the side, either mending nets, or working on the dried fish that needed to be done so the next batch could be dried.
Mother and Father were watching from the doorway as he was loaded up onto the dragon that was waiting to take him to his future at Eteii Weyr.
Danaeth took the coordinates from his rider, noting the position of the sun and the color of the leaves on the trees. He gave the coordinates to the yellow and the blue that were helping him and his rider.
"Take us *between* Danaeth." T'ren was excited. He didn't know how his parents would react to meeting his dragon for the first time, but he hoped they would like him.
I am sure they will like me.
"Me too," he gave the signal to go *between* and the dragons winked out of the sky.
Black, blacker, blackest......Something was wrong! It wasn't that far a jump. They should be out of *between* by now. T'ren fought a rising panic. Had he given Danaeth the wrong coordinates? Only the solid feel of his dragon beneath him kept the brownrider from panicking.
Finally the dragon emerged from *between* but something was wrong. The brown's hide was greyer than it was before and he felt tired. T'ren also felt tired, as if he had been working all day and hadn't stopped for a rest in the hot sun. He looked around. They were at his parent's hold, but there was something different.
The leaves on the skybroom trees were dry and brittle and there was just the slightest nip in the air. It was winter in this part of the continent, where it was summer back at Dark Moon Weyr. This continent was on the same season, so how could it be winter here and summer at Dark Moon?
Danaeth and the other dragons hovered. He looked around, and saw a green dragon in front of the Hold. A group of people had gathered to say good bye to the Lord Holder's son. Kislen was alternating between laughing and crying and his mother was crying openly even though she was smiling. T'ren realized that he was watching his own departure from the Hold.
"Shells and shards," he breathed. "We've jumped in time! Dragons can go *between* times!"
He asked Danaeth to tell the others and then modified his idea of his parents hold to take into account the changes that might have happened. Danaeth took them between back to their own time. T'ren felt even more tired, but at least it wasn't the draining sensation he had felt while they were back in time.
"It can't have been good for my past self to see us. We're going to have to tell the Weyrwoman, but first, let's land and rest a bit."
I hunger.
"We'll have to wait to feed you three. If you eat now, we will have to fly straight. Just hold off a little longer."
K'dan emerged from the cold bitter darkness of *between*. He never did like to make jumps, but it was something he was accustom to now. K'danmine. This place seems...strange. The blue couldn't quite put his finger on it, but something felt wrong here. K'dan looked around, getting an odd sort of feeling himself. But perhaps that was just coming from his dragon. Connected minds had a tendancy to make one feel what the other one did.
But just as K'dan was going to reply, Hydrath followed the brownrider back. He warned K'dan and went *between* yet again. He emerged back into their own time. But coming back, K'dan now felt very tired. He didn't know if he had been tired after the first jump or not, because he was too worried about Hydrath. But now he was certainly feeling it. He looked down at Hydrath, that deep blue hide of his was the palest he'd ever seen him.
"We've got to land you soon. I've never felt you this tired before", K'dan said. Both rider and dragon were hungry as well, very hungry. He looked back over to T'ren who was addressing them. He nodded, but wasn't fancying the idea. He had to wonder if T'ren and his brown were feeling the same way and if Danaeth was as tired as Hydrath or if the brown's endurance made a difference in that regard. Still, K'dan continued on and followed T'ren to where ever it was he decided they'd go. K'dan was too confused to try and contemplate now.
T'ren led the dragonriders into his home hold. His parents were excited to see them and insisted on feeding the riders while the dragons' nets were loaded. T'ren apologized for not visiting sooner and introduced his parents to his brown. He explained away the greyness of the hides of the dragon with the fact that they needed to eat. T'ren's parents offered to feed the dragons, but the brownrider refused. They would be able to go *between* if the dragons waited to eat. If not, the tired dragons would have to make the 5 hour flight across country to deliver the fish to the Weyr.
T'ren promised to come visit soon and return for some of the wild wherry herd that the herders had found. The wherries would be a good addition to the Weyr's larder. He and the other riders took up their nets and returned home.
"Let the drudges unload the fish. We need to tell Christae about what happened. I didn't know dragons could jump time," he told K'dan and Hasima.
Nothing like washing young dragons in the waining afternoon sun. Andilay waded carefully sudsed up Llanwreth's side, Rayn on the opposite side doing the same. They weren't alone, though. The lone bronzerider from the previous clutch was out washing his dragon as well.
The fellow wasn't bad lookin. In fact, he could be rather sexy, especially with his hair unbound and free about his shoulders as it was now. If Andilay didn't have G'han to pounce, she very well might have pounced on this other bronze rider's bones.
She washed off the part of Llanwreth she had sudsed up, and straightened up. She was looking at the sky, wiping some sweat from her forehead when she saw the party of dragonriders appear from between. And, was it just her, or were those dragons slightly lacking in the normal pigmentation department. "Those dragons look... darn right grey."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rayn had found no qualms about asking Andilay to help with washing Llanwreth. It was something for them to do together, and being in the water was rather nice. Plus Llanwreth was getting bigger, and taking longer to wash. Besides, Andilay could take it as practice for when she finally got her own dragon.
She also didn't mind the company of the other dragonrider. S'yer was polite and kept to himself. He didn't try to hit on either of them as they waded in the water, nor did he try to get handsy. She could see herself becoming good friends with this man.
When Andilay made her comment, Rayn glanced up from her task of washing Llanwreth and frowned. Those dragons really didn't look all that healthy. "Do you think they'll need help? Maybe we should go."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~``
S'yer wasn't particularly thrilled with washing Perilth with two women, but they weren't obsessive chatterers, nor did they seem to want to fawn over him; both of which were rather nice. They seemed to be, much like himself, absorbed in their task.
You are an odd one mine. You should bask in the adoration the females throw at you. It is only proper for a bronze rider. None of this, indifferent dislike of the females.
S'yer rolled his eyes. It wasn't a proper day without Perilth nagging him about something or other that he wasn't doing right as a bronze rider. He was just about to throw back a retort when the two women started talking about a party of dragonriders that had just appeared from between. They did look rather ill, which couldn't be a good thing.
"I think that may be a wise idea Ladies."
Danaeth didn't do any of his normal show off antics as he spiraled down carefully with his load. He could feel his rider's exhaustion, and he wasn't much better.
I hunger but I am sleepy as well.
"We'll see if the drudges can spare some meat so you don't have to hunt." T'ren rubbed a hand over his face as his dragon fairly drooped to the ground. The brown didn't bother to fold his wings after he released the net of fish and settled his bulk to the ground.
The other two dragon's didn't look much better and if T'ren had a looking glass, he could see that his face was pale. He saw the two weyrlings and the Candidate approaching them.
"Could one of you get some drudges to take care of this fish? I think I'm going to need some help down as well."
Hydrath slowly made his decent. His landing was sloppy, very sloppy. The poor dragon was weak, tired. K'danmine, I do not know if I hunger more than I wish to sleep or if I wish to sleep more than I hunger.
K'dan patted his dragon. Hydrath hadn't felt like this...ever. K'dan was worried, but he didn't know what to do. There was so much going through his head. They went back in time? The dragons were incredibly sapped, and their hide showed it. What did all this mean now? K'dan would shake his head if he didn't feel tired as well.
K'dan slowly got off, and shrugged off some of his gear. He simply slumped to the ground on his knees. His dragon didn't feel like standing either, so he sat. If there wasn't all this riding gear, he'd sleep right then and there. K'dan was still at a loss for words, so he said nothing at all.
Kaith reared her head when she caught sight of the condition of the returning dragons. She bugled for her rider and launched herself off her ledge to check on her dragons.
Do you hurt? What happened? The Queen demanded. Youngling stay out of the way. The Queen told the weyrling brown.
Chrisate raced out of her weyr to see what was the matter. Kaith had already left so she had to run down the stairs into the Weyr bowl. She didn't like the greyish cast to the dragons' hides. As she got closer, she could see the shocked and pale faces of the riders.
"All this from carrying fish?" Christae's voice was incredulous. "What happened?"
I have asked the dragons the same thing.
Andilay gave Mistress an image of where the drudges tended to be, and that if not, to look in the kitchen. She then inked a quick note and sent her off. She then stepped up to the brownrider and offered her arm. "I've got you, hun. You don't look good at all."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rayn nodded at Andilay's comment, and then moved off to help the next rider that landed. He was very pail, but rather familiar. "K'dan? What have the lot of you been doing? You look like the color was drained from you, and possibly chewed and spat out as well."
She walked to the blueriders side, crouching low so as to get a good look at him. Llanwreth crooned to the older blue, but still stayed out of the way; so as not to anger the golden queen.

T'ren, for once, didn't flirt. "I don't feel good at all." He told her and accepted her arm. He slumped against his dragon once he was on the ground, too tired to admire the Weyrwoman or even show her the respect she deserved by standing up straight. "Thanks. T'ren of brown Danaeth. Yours is a fine looking brown." His voice was tired.
"Weyrwoman, dragons can move between times." He was blunt. He was too tired to beat around the bush. "Danaeth and the others are hungry. Could we request meat from the drudges to feed them?"
I took the coordinates from T'renmine's mind. It took really long. Longer than usual to jump between. When we arrived, it felt strange. I started to tire. Then T'ren mine said that he gave us the wrong coordinates and we had better hurry because he didn't want his younger self to see him. We jumped to the same place again, and it took a long time but this time the strange feeling was gone. T'ren wouldn't let us eat because we would have to fly straight if we did.

K'dan was about to respond to the Weyrwoman when someone called his name. The bluerider looked up at the woman with tired eyes, it was Rayn. He would have stood up to greet her if he didn't feel totally drained. "Then you can only imagine how I feel", he said, and let out a quick, hard, and tired sigh. "I need a bed. And food", K'dan said absentmindedly.
He looked over up at the Weyrwoman after T'ren explained rather bluntly. "It is as he says Weyrwoman Christae", he affirmed simply. Could he just sleep here right now, please? Atleast until some food came? No, he'd tough it out. But he would also be kneeling on the ground. No wait, make that sitting. K'dan leaned back and allowed his legs to stretch out infront of him and his hands rested firmly on the ground behind him for support as he sat on the ground. He really didn't much care either. He was too tired to care. And too hungry to care.
Blue Hydrath felt much the same. As deep blue as the dragon was, there wasn't much of that blue shade left. We do not hurt. But we are tired, and very hungry. Hydrath answered Kaith, speaking of him and his rider. But he was sure the same applied to the brown and his rider. I followed Danaeth's lead and we were in another time. Going *between* there and back took awhile and it was very tiring. The blue gave a general explanation. Too tired and hungry for details right now.

Kaith grumbled. The drudges wouldn't bring them enough meat and she didn't like her dragons looking off color. The great golden beast launched herself and glided to the feeding pens. She angled her body down and neatly caught one of the stampeding beasts in her claws. A quick twist broke the creature's back and she winged upwards to regain altitude. She returned to the weary dragons and deposited the herdbeast in front of the brown. Two more quick trips and she had large wherries for the two smaller dragons.
If you are still hungry, let me know.
