Ez smirked, laughter emerging for a moment as Rafe posed a whisper of a secret, and then gave a sly dig at him. “Very funny R’fael, but when you’re like me, that word is a warning siren,” He warned. Finger poking R’fael in the chest, and by no means was it restrained. He looked a little sour. Edge to his glances returning. He didn’t approve of being mocked. He never did. Even to the slightest degree.
But the next part made him smirk, but the look R’fael gave him was one that he had not been waiting upon, it was a dirty gaze that made heat inside him swell, until his mind checked it back into place. But his words and the tone behind them was seriously not helping. Ez punched Rafe in the Arm, not sparing anything, even if it was still rather feeble, and he hurt his thumb doing it – not that he showed the pain, to do so would be counter productive, “Pack it in R’fael, I can’t don’t tempt or taunt me, Or there will be a messed up brown in the ranks thanks to my inability to keep myself to myself.” He bit. Looking quite angry, and perhaps even a little menacing - well menacing for one of such a slight frame.
He bit his tongue, tawny eyes resisting as much as he possibly could. He shuddered as R’fael spoke soft words to his ear, cool breath making him feel over hot. “That doesn’t sound much like a threat R’fael…” The words were almost purred, “That actually sounds more like a promise that I might enjoy.” Twisted git that he was.
Ez turned to R’fael, And sat purposefully a good distance from him, “Seriously, you have to stop this. I can’t. I can not[/b] get involved. I cannot. Simply no. And you? You sit there and flirt with me, after saying you wouldn’t make this more difficult? And you know it’s my nature to push on any sort of advancement..” He shook his head, “you know, you really should not have come here tonight. Really, really shouldn’t have.”
But, he thought for a moment, at least if the brown rider left here tonight untouched, it would mean that Ez was safe. If he could avoid it now, when the memories were so fresh, and with a man that he knew, and was pretty darn intent upon being with at least once more, he would be able to resist any situation put before him. Well, it was almost a guarantee. He smirked and looked at R’fael, “You’re a sin you know that, you are temptation incarnate. Carnal. You should not be permitted to live with humans, you should be banished to an island where no woman, child, man, wherry or fish can fall prey to you.” He said shaking his head, and here he was resisting. And oh the effort it was taking!!!
He felt drawn just trying to resist the man.

R'fael tsked softly, head shaking. "Soon your day will come and you'll be craving that little l word and throwing it around yourself." The brown rider couldn't imagine who would encourage Ez's affections, let alone encourage his love. They'd have to be something pretty amazing themselves. "All I know is that it won't be coming from me."
The brown rider couldn't resist reaching out and brushing aside Ez's brilliant hair, lips twisted upward. "Lighten up, sweetheart. If you throw 'em out, you better be able to take 'em back. Or else you shouldn't be saying anything at all." Ez punched him the next second and R'fael frowned. He couldn't say that it hurt, not really--the sting was gone within a couple seconds. He just couldn't think why the weyrling would find any need to hit him. He looked truly angry too. And then R'fael realized exactly why the minor ranked rider was hitting him and he didn't much blame him. The rider frowned, looking immediately apologetic. "Sorry," he murmured. "With you, I forget a time and place."
He was warned, yet again, and the brown rider nearly felt like snapping. He knew that he had to stop, he knew the consequences! He was not a dimglow. He just forgot...he forgot that Ez was so much younger, he forgot the worry over ranks, he forgot where he was and any circumstances that might stop him. He just knew he wanted...he knew he wanted a lot of things. A lot of things he couldn't have.
R'fael looked put out as he sighed, replying to an advance he'd made but minutes before. "Mmm. I think you would like it. But that, like much else, will have to wait." Another sigh left him before he glanced back at the redheaded man, a glint back to his eye, vestiges of happiness returning to his golden face. "Well, well, well. It looks like you do have a high opinion of me." He chuckled quietly. "I wouldn't worry much about the fish, fowl or children, darling. I don't think they'd be overly concerned with the likes of me." Another laugh. "And if you take away the women and men, how am I supposed to be happy?" He pouted rather well.

Ez shook his head and laughed half heartedly, “Nope, no way!” He teased, grinning feverishly for a few seconds before he “That’s not the game I play.” He stretched his shoulders and rolled his neck, realising that chores tomorrow? Would be one hellish time. “And I’m kinda happy about that Rafe, no offence meant of course. Who ever gets you is a lucky girl. But me? I don’t intend to get tied down until I’m dying.” He smirked and looked spacily off at the wall.
“Mmm, well forget the time, and the place, but remember that dragon’s a few hours old.” He warned, “I can’t be the ‘rider with the messed up dragon’ – just because I caved on the first night. I’m stronger than that.” I hope. He added mentally. He smirked, seemed Rafe really couldn’t keep his hands to himself, “I’m sorry, I guess it’s kind of my fault too” He grinned in his usually cocky self assured way, “What can I say? Just too much” He shook his head, silently laughing, unable to believe he was being quite that forward about himself. Shame he didn’t believe it.
“that was ever in question?” Ez replied regarding his high opinion of R’fael, He shirked the comment and continued as R’fael pouted, “Awww darling?” He slapped Rafe’s cheek in a far too patronising manner, “You? You’re not meant to cope, its punishment, divine punishment.” He smirked, “But it’s not like I’m going to enforce it now is it?” He smirked “Worse jail keeper in the world of Pern I would be. What can I say,” He shrugged and continued, “I’m a sucker for a pretty face.” He looked at Rafe and grinned, mind wondering silently if they could ever just be friends.
Before he realised it, he had asked the question, “Rafe, Do you think it’s possible that we could ever just be friends?” He looked at the rider Sidelong, curious as to the answer, he had never been able to keep a friendship with a person he’d slept with, it just seemed weird, you knew them intimately, but not intimately enough for friendship. IT was a different sort of intimacy.

R'fael rolled his eyes, not sure how he felt about Ez's statement. He was glad to know that the weyrling wasn't that attached to him. However, there was this niggling sense of something akin to pity. R'fael was a different creature than Ez. He didn't mind the occasional fling, the occasional and infrequent night of tangled limbs and panting breath, but he didn't want that for the rest of his life. He wanted a mate devoted to him, he wanted to be devoted to only one person, he wanted to wake up next to someone he loved every morning. He wanted little faces that mirrored his own laughing up at him.
He wanted a mate and children. He craved it. He felt that, in some deeper part of himself, it would...complete him.
Again with the warnings. R'fael's mouth twisted as he sighed, nodding, looking rather dejected. He knew it, shard it, he knew. He scrubbed his hands over his face and nodded. "Yes," he murmured, voice just shy of biting. "You are too much and, shells and shards, I don't have the strength enough to stop it." He peered at the weyrling over his hands with dark, burning eyes.
His nose scrunched in slight distaste as his cheek was patted. He exhaled gustily, eyes rolling as his hands dropped. "If you're my jailer, I won't have to worry about there being any punishment," he muttered. "I wouldn't even be in a cage." He laughed, sounding rather bitter as he turned to look at the weyrling, his brow slightly wrinkled as a result of the conflict of his thoughts. He shouldn't be here; he shouldn't be talking to Ez, let alone touching him or speaking of what they were. But it didn't change the fact that he was here and they were doing what they were doing.
A quick sigh. "I hope we can be after we get burned out on each other. If that ever happens." R'fael glanced away, watching the slumbering brown just a few feet away from him. He'd known Ez would Impress well, but that didn't mean he'd expected a brown. R'fael smiled slightly, turning to look back at the redhead. "I'd like to be friends though. I don't think I could stand not being around you, even after we're done--" His brows rose, his smile spread. The ending to his sentence was clear.

Ez noticed his company’s silence. Prolonged silence. He winced inwardly. “Rafe? Pern to Rafe?” He cooed, trying to drag the rider back to the moment at hand. “R’faeellll.” He purred, he hadn’t meant to, it was meant to be sing song, but it jut came out wrong, “Shards – I …” He looked guilty, and looked at the older man, “Sorry.” He shrugged, “I can’t wipe a few turns of habits over the space of a few hours, much as it’s killing me.” He informed the man beside him.
“Oh you do Rafe, I just don’t think you want to. You know it’s really getting late now… right?” He suggested, “Not that I mind, but.” He paused, and pulled a face that said, ‘ahhh what does it matter’. Then he smiled, trying not to meet those dark, flaming eyes, eyes that would call him, eyes that would almost beg that side of him to do what he knew he shouldn’t. No! Not shouldn’t, Couldn’t. He could not go there, it was not an option.
He smiled, “Nope, no cage, nothing like that, don’t think I could bare to make you humiliated like that,” He shook his head and his cheek tensed as though it was almost painful to think on it.
Rafe spoke of their friendship, of what might happen afterwards, if there ever was an after. “Nor I you, Rafe, nor I you.” He shook his head, and wound his fingers together tightly before him, “I’m not sure I’m done, not yet, unless you want it otherwise?” He asked, trying to ascertain that the older rider knew it was what he wanted. Ez was all about chances, and no regrets.
He smirked and looked at him, he was still gorgeous, in a way that no one should be gifted, he was perfectly masculine, and beautiful all at the same time, Ez wanted to appreciate it, but he would have to learn how to, without touching. He was torn, and that likely showed on his face too. He hated not being able to have something. Usually he found loop holes, and ways, and methods and all sorts that allowed him his way. But this time? There was nothing that could be done. No holes, no loops, no maybes, no ifs. Only nos, couldn’ts and can’ts. It was just how it was. And he had to learn to accept that.
