Part of K’ael wished he could exude confidence. Then again, maybe it was for the best he didn’t. He wasn’t quite sure if people would want a healer that acted all cocky and arrogant, they’d probably get fed up. “The word mistress also makes everything sound dirtier.” K’ael observed when the word tumbled out of Ez’s mouth.
He grinned slightly at the contagious confidence. “Then I’ll be in your care for the next bit.” K’ael laughed. Just because he didn’t want to exude confidence didn’t mean he never wanted some. He fell silent when Rayn talked and grinned slightly, “Lady of Rain for a brownrider? Probably not. Lady of Mud? A possibility.” Of course K’ael was infinitely grateful that he had not approached Rayn with a comment that started with ‘my Lady’. The girl probably would have chewed him out for it.
K’ael flashed a quick grin at the brownrider lad, “Did you want your own disinfectant buddy perhaps?”
----
”Perfect. You make the snarky comments, since I suck at them, and I’ll flirt.” Z’ayr said with a wide grin as he took Tanwen’s hand in his own and practically skipped towards D’car.
The poor lad had no idea what he was about to get into.
Z’ayr danced into the seat beside D’car, draping his arm around the boys shoulder. “Congratulations! And a brown too! I wanted to come over as quick as possible to give you some congratulating words.” He let his arm fall back to his side for a moment before sticking out his hand, “Sorry. I’m Z’ayr of blue Dinayth. You probably don’t know me but I’ve heard quite a bit about you!” Which was true. That red headed girl Faine had told him a bit about the anti-social boy and he had heard Tanwen drop his name a few times.
”Tell my, dear boy, what your dragons name is?”

D'car had successfully remained by himself throughout the feast. He was quite proud of the feat. To be in the middle of such a social gathering and be able to avoid contact with anyone. He took a sip of his drink and closed his eyes, enjoying the liquid. The weyrling was surprised he could enjoy himself in such a large gathering. But that all came to a halt when Z'ayr crashed next to him and slung an arm around the boy's shoulder.
D'car was quick to move the drink away from him. Instead of the juice spilling all over him, it spilled on the table. D'car growled slightly, shifted a seat over, and put his drink down. These were some of the finest clothes he had. He didn't want to risk getting them messy. D'car was ready to tear into Z'ayr. The boy touched him, getting in his personal space, then he spilled his drink and nearly got it all over him. Couldn't this guy just leave him in peace? He was finally enjoying himself.
But just as he looked up to shoot something back at the annoying bluerider, he noticed Tanwen with him. For some reason he found he was unable to say what he wanted to say. As if someone had snuffed out his fire. Still, that only saved Z'ayr so much. D'car still kept the same attitude. "I'm so certain you have", D'car responded to Z'ayr. D'car knew, by now, of Dark Moon's gossip-like reputation. Certain people didn't exactly help the reputation either.
"His name is Tetroth", D'car answered Z'ayr's question. Strange that D'car had actually deemed the question worth responding to after what Z'ayr did. But as mean as anyone thought D'car was, his brown seemed even more vicious. It was Tetroth, afterall, that mauled that girl and attacked that blue. Thankfully said brown was not with D'car at the hatching feast. The dragonet was sound asleep.

Andilay smiled as she spotted a familiar curly haired head. She could tell Z'yer was trying to get 'friendly' with the recluse. And not just any recluse, but the one who impressed upon her hit and run to impress dragon. She smiled. How delightful.
Andilay made her way over to the boys, gracefully avoiding those bussling about. She should practice what she preached, and people would not magically appear before her to socialize unless she put in some effort. Luckily Z'ayr was there. Her odd shyness didn't work if she could squeeze into the party/conversation with the fact that she knew one of them, and the other was almost an acquaintance. By a second party. She wondered briefly if the clothes the brown rider had worn had gotten any of her blood on it from the mauling. My what a morbid thought... Oh look! The brown rider didn't like Z'ayr touching him and moved away... maybe she should box him in... hehee.
Once Andilay arrived she satin the chair on the other side of the brown rider and gave him the most disarming smile she could muster. "Hello, Z'ayr. Hows life? I saw you sitting next to my almost acquaintance and had to come over and say hi, amungst other things."

G'han had decided tonight he'd have some fun. Nothing would hold him back. He was promoted to wingleader, the weyr just had yet another amazing hatching. The bronzerider was just in such a good mood. And what better way to show it than to get drunk and then really have a good time.
G'han stumbled his way out of a crowd of people shortly after the sounds of girls squeeling were heard. It was pretty obvious the bronzerider had kicked back plenty. He made his way over sloppily to Andilay. He sat down in the chair next to her and slung an arm around her. "Hi Andilay!", he shouted a bit too loudly. He looked over his shoulder then back to her. "Hide me from that group of women over there, they won't leave me alooooooone", G'han complained before letting his head fall down and hit the table before him. His arm slung from Andilay onto the table beside it.
After a few moments, G'han seemed to come to again. "Ow. That hurt", he said as he slung his head back up and looked upside down over the chair as he leaned his head back.

After failing to find the head chef, Relina decided to give up her search and rejoin the party, and by rejoining, that meant she would lean against the wall and glare at any who came near. She watched everyone and envied their ability to have fun so freely, whereas in her past, any enjoyable activity was forbidden to her.Boredom strikes me, yet again. She sighed and called her dragon. At least with Soranith she could have someone to talk to and not be punished for it. Soranith carefully walked over to her and stood next to her, while Zorn appeared from out of nowhere and landed on her shoulder.
Where did you come from? She asked Zorn while he chittered and looked around.
He sensed discomfort in you, as did I. Something wrong? Soranith bitterly, yet concerningly asked. Relina shook her head and closed her eyes.
I do not know anymore, it feels awkward being here. I know nothing of engaging someone in conversation, nor do I know how to have fun at an event such as this. Before I came to the Weyr, the only special events I was allowed to go to were tithe deliverings. Other than that I worked or I slept. Relina explained.
Do you wish to leave? Soranith inquired. Relina shook her head and her eyes glinted slightly from the stress she felt.
No, I just wish I knew what to do. Relina told her dragon. Soranith and Zorn gently rubbed their muzzles against Relina to comfort her and she regained her composure. She scanned the crowd and saw a few familiar faces, and some not-so-familiar ones. She sighed and held her stance, thinking about what to do next.

Z’ayr had to hold back a fit of giggles. It was oh so obvious that D’car wasn’t appreciating his presence but that wasn’t going to make the boy leave. “A red head told me that she once showed you her scar and you walked away.” He nodded with a grin, explaining how he had heard about the boy.
“Tetroth? That’s quite the nice name. Hopefully no more maulings out of him though!” Z’ayr laughed as if it was all one big joke to him. In a way, it was. He wasn’t about to take any part of this conversation seriously – this was a night for entertainment. He was grinning to himself when Andilay appeared on the other side of D’car. “Andilay, dear! I nearly had a panic attack for you when dragon claws came after you. Were your clothes shredded?” When he said this was a night of entertainment he meant a night where he fabbed it up as much as possible. Just to annoy people.
Z’ayr leaned over D’car when G’han made an appearance, no doubt invading the boys personal space. “G’han! You didn’t say hi to me!”
----
Faine was waiting for Zigana’s response when Soranith made an appearance and spoke to her. It was odd, a dragons voice in her head. It seemed unnatural…and yet right. She nodded slightly at the green, flashing an apologetic smile at the others she was with.
“I told Relina I would make her dance with me. I can’t let her get away so I’ll be back in a bit.” The red head promised before slipping through the crowd, eyes searching for her friend. Ah! There she was! Against the wall. She sidled up to the girl with a large grin, “If you keep glaring like that your face will get stuck.” She leaned against the wall beside Relina, staring at the girl.
“So are we going to dance or what?”

Relina jumped at the sound of her friends voice. She toned her glare down when she looked at her friend and spoke.
"Where did you come from? I thought you were speaking with someone." She said. She then looked toward the dancers and sighed. "I-I do not know how. I was never permitted such activities." She said this, and nothing more. She had not meant to give so much information, yet, it felt kind of nice to share her past with someone, though she did not know why.
It is because you trust Faine, almost as much as you trust me or Zorn. You like her. Soranith explained rather pridefully to Relina. Relina smirked and closed her eyes.
That may be, but I have my pride, I shall not shame myself by being too trusting. She shot back.
There is no shame in befriending someone and opening up to them. Soranith told her in an understanding voice. Relina breathed deeply and looked at Faine, unsure of what to say next.

Faine smiled slightly when she noticed that Relina jumped, obviously caught offguard by the redheads voice. She shrugged slightly, “I was but I came over here.”. There was no need to tell her that she seemed lonely. That or the fact that Soranith had asked for a little help.
“I don’t know how to dance either.” Faine laughed loudly before continuing, “You just do it.” She wasn’t quite sure what Relina meant by not being permitted to dance. Who wasn’t allowed to dance? The thought seemed so odd to Faine but she said nothing of it. “Well you’re permitted here.” Faine scoffed as she took a step in front of Relina with a wide grin as she stuck out her hand.
“Besides, a dance would cheer me up from not Impressing… Admin's Note:
” She said, giving the girl a reason to join her. It was clear that Faine wasn’t exactly depressed about it but it seemed like a good way into coaxing the girl into a dance. “Plus I already told you and Soranith to save me a dance at the very beginning.” She grinned.

Relina stared at the hand Faine offered to her as if it were something strange. She was unsure of the situation and looked up at Faine. She did not look like she needed to be cheered up, but, then again, Soranith did say different people handle the situations around them in different ways. For all Relina knew, Faine could be crying inside, and it was for that reason alone that she took Faine's hand. Here goes nothing. Are you with me Soranith? She asked her dragon.
Always, let's have some fun, mine. Soranith replied with her eyes whirling the color of excitement. Relina looked at her friend curiously while she held her hand.
"I'm afraid I do not understand what you mean by "You just do it." Explain, please." She commanded, adding the please to soften her words.

Andilay nodded. "One of my favorite shirts is in perfect shreds! I had quite the lovely time simplifying it there for a bit, so that the healer could get at my wounds. I was showing off quite a bit of skin." Andilay nudged D'car. "Speaking of clothes, I didn't ruin yours did I? You know, inadvertently. I would assume you dragon may have taken a bit of me with him." She spoke in a friendly tone, quite cheerful to actually be meeting someone-dragon mauled or not.
Andilay shook her head when G'han came over, drunk off his rocker. She couldn't stop a smile from appearing though, G'han was, all in all, far to precious of a character.
When he seemed to lose himself for a moment and hit his head on the table, Andilay let out a little bubble of surprised laughter.
When he got his head back up.... and up, and then over.. she chuckled a little more. Then glanced in the way his face was pointed and a thoughtful expression hit her face.
"Oh, G'han? Are those the girls you were talking about? The ones that are glancing over here?" With a wicked gleam in her eye Andilay spoke. "Perhaps you should hide..." And then grabbed the inebriated bronze rider's head and swung it just so. Making his face become hidden... in her bosom. She made sure to avoid whiplash-her strength could do that. But a mischievous look was happily plastered all over her face.

D'car was getting more and more annoyed. This boy dared invade his personal space now! What was with people? So many people would find out that D'car had a distaste for people in general and they just had to make him uncomfortable. It's what made him hate them all the more. Did they think forcing him to talk or making him uncomfortable would make him like them? Just the opposite. It's those people he couldn't stand most. Those that knew he wanted to be left alone, but didn't oblige.
But when Andilay spoke to him, D'car wasn't quite as aggitated with her. She didn't seem to provoke him as much as Z'ayr was. "No, he did not", D'car said in a plain tone. One that was not scathing, bitter, annoyed, or otherwise. With a nod to Andilay, he scooted his chair back and stood. "If you would excuse me", he spoke up, and cut off before leaving.
He was in such a state of discomfort that he failed to notice the drunken man that made his way over to their table. He really just wished to leave before someone pushed him too far. D'car walked off, losing himself in the crowd and heading in a direction to pour himself some more juice.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Whoops! Sorry Z'ayr. He-", G'han was about to greet the boy when he was cut short. No sooner had his head flung from it's position, G'han was burried into Andilay's generous bosom. It took G'han a minute before he realized just where he was face planted. "How did you know this was my favorite hiding spot?!", G'han sounded genuinely shocked with his question, but he could have just as easily been joking. He made no attempt to struggle at all. Clearly he was pleased with where he had been placed.
"Oh, I had an inkling." She smiled and ran her fingers through his hair. It was a soft, silky feeling. He had been smart and bathed before coming. Ahhh, she really did have quite the fondness for playing with peoples hair. That and since she had placed him there, and he didn't seem to mind, Andilay liked making others feel comfortable. Well, more comfortable.
Faine laughed with delight when Relina took her hand and asked for an explanation. She grabbed her friend and twirled them both onto the dance floor, dresses rising up slightly as the air went around them.
The twirl finished when they were in the middle of the dance floor. “You don’t think, you just move.” Faine said with a nod. She wasn’t entirely sure how to explain dancing, she had always assumed it came naturally to people. She reached down and took the other girls hand so she and Relina could sway slightly. “And don’t wonder if you look bad because there will always be a worse dancer than you.”
There was a perfect example of that right now; a random man jerking his body. He clearly didn’t know that he looked quite foolish.
----
“When don’t you show off a bit of skin?” Z’ayr laughed with a long, crooked grin. Was D’car feeling uncomfortable? Probably! But it was fun – For Z’ayr at least.
He rolled his eyes when she put G’hans face into her chest. He clucked his tongue also, “Tsk. Didn’t anyone tell you to keep the scandalous activities in your own weyr? Come on now. You’ll make others jealous.” He peeled off a bit of meat roll and popped it into his mouth and tossed Dinayth a small bit.
That will go straight to your thighs
The boy stuck his tongue out at the dragon before watching D’car more or less storm off. “So Andilay. Should I follow him and make him dance with me? Or just let him be?”
"Sh! I'm hiding. You'll give me away", G'han mumbled loudly into Andilay's bosom to no one in particular, just everyone talking at the table. G'han truely wanted to hide from the girls. While he enjoyed flirting and having fun, especially when he was drunk, he didn't want what some of these girl thought they might get out of him if he were drunk.
Oh, but now Andilay was playing with his hair. G'han was nestled nicely into a nice set of pillows and now Andialy was playing with his hair. G'han was so comfortable, he was ready to fall asleep. He closed his eyes as she ran her fingers through his hair. G'han drunkenly slung his arms around Andilay's waist to nestle into her bosom further. G'han may have been very intent on sleeping there. "Love you", he murmered drunkenly into her chest before nodding off. After a few moments though, his open mouth caused a bit of drool to drip onto her chest.
Akki was teasing T’ran far too much, but she couldn’t help it when his mouth fell open – making it obvious that he believed her tall tale. Faranth, this man was going to have a massive hangover the next day. She frowned, pretending to think as he made his last comment before nodding. “He was kind of ticked about it to be honest, so you better make sure to apologize to him next time you see him.” She warned, wagging a scolding finger at the man. She had to wonder why she still had friends when she pulled their legs like this. Something was clearly wrong with people. She slung an arm over the man’s shoulder, “Anyways T’ran. I heard about a rumor that should catch your interest.” When she spoke, she leaned in close as if she was sharing some deep, dark secret. She wasn’t of course, just another lie to keep her amused during the night. “I heard some drudges talking; they said that some girl here has a massive crush on you. Don’t know which one though, I suggest we find out.” The night would probably end with some sort of humiliation for T’ran…but Akki was okay with that. He was drunk and wouldn’t remember much in the morning, so hey! Let’s have some fun! ((Welcome back to me =D)) Heeeeey buddy, you might wanna, wanna apolog- say you're sorry to her dragon. Didja hear? He'sss actually a go-gold.You're drunk and you're being an idiot. She's pulling your leg.Then she's pulling too low! Haha... haha, get it?You're a charmer, T'ranmine. Now I'm going to sleep.Goodnight!T'ran was, admittedly, gone. He knew he was drunk, and that was a bad thing, since he wasn't one to stop when he was drinking. So... the fact that he knew he was wasted meant that the next day (or maybe two days) would not be fun. "Uh-huh," he said to Akki, leaning in close for the secret rumor. Some girl had a massive crush on him? Again? But, but... that wasn't new! He had seen the girls looking at him all night. A sidelong glance, a stifled giggle. They were playing coy, but he could read the signs. And then there was Akki, standing right in front of him. "Are you, are you sure that it isn't you? Haha, I bet, I bet it is!" But really, he half-heartedly hoped it was. At least he knew he had her charmed. If he had to charm someone else, starting from the beginning, it'd be a long night, and he didn't want to black out before he got lucky.
I’d scold you for being mean to him, but I’m having too much fun.
Akki stifled a snort of laughter. It was nice to know that her blue was also getting a kick out of T’ran.
She frowned slightly, as if considering the possibility it was her. “Well yeah, but I only like you a wee bit right now. So you have to shower me with compliments all night long so I’ll fully like you.” She looked around the room, trying to find a girl he could pass off as the girl who had a crush on T’ran. She was tempted to say the Weyrwoman but she wasn’t that mean….yet. One day if T’ran was this drunk again she may use Christae. That would be entertaining!
“Her. That’s the one.” She said, pointing to a woman she didn’t really recognize. She had never seen the lady around the Weyr before and assumed her to be some random family member or something. She didn’t know that it was the Gold Wherhandler from Caspian though.
"Well. . . if you don't, if you don't like me yet," he said cautiously, looking her in the eye as if being dramatic and failing stupendously, "then I have to. . .give up on you."
As soon as she pointed out this random lady in the middle of the room, T'ran was mystified. Completely devoid of all sense, he immediately deemed her, "She's... a ten!"
Without any thought as to the amount of alcohol he had, or how much that might screw with his reaction times, he found himself dry in the mouth. A little nauseous, as if he'd never talked to a girl before. He found that he was utterly and completely in love with this nameless lady in front of him. And he wasn't sure he could talk to her. Embarrassed by his lack of initiative, he moved slightly behind Akki.
"I... I don't know if I can do this," he said. "Uh, could you, could you go and chat her up for, for me? Wingwoman?"
Silent laughter made her chest rumble a little. G'han had fallen asleep. Not only that, but he had lightly latched onto her waist to make himself more comfortable, and even mumbled an endearment toward her. She couldn't help the softening of her eyes, and lifted a finger of silence towards Z'ayr.
In a subdued voice, she answered the blue rider. "If you want to rub him the wrong way, by all means, follow. But I will stay here, and thus will not be able to save you from that brown rider's eventual explosion towards you. The bad kind, dear." She gave him a small smile. "If you want him to like you, give him space. The antisocial ones do not like to be excessively bothered."
Another chuckle threatened to escape when she noticed that G'han was doing something many people did when sleeping... he was drooling.
It was an inevitable crash. A mixture of drunkeness, soft flesh, and hair play was enough to put G'han in such a blissful sleepy state. But despite no longer being conscious to the world, G'han did shift a bit for comfort's sake as he slept on her. G'han was known to toss and turn in his sleep. He wasn't a sound sleeper, not often anyway.
When G'han did shift, he mumbled something that no one would be able to understand. Though it was pretty evident G'han had alreay caught hold of some dream. There was no telling what kind of dream either, with G'han in such a state. But G'han did mumble again, and this time it was clearly a name. It was someone that started with an "A", but beyon that his drunken dreamy slurrs were unmanageable.
Relina was fascinated by her and Faine's movements, and from the way Soranith's head swayed in the same manner following their movements, Relina could tell she was too. Their dancing was subtle, yet graceful. Relina felt something strange inside of her as they moved. Was it satisfaction? Was it joy? Relina did not know, nor did she really care. For once in her life, she was having fun, and everyone knew it. No one was telling her to get back to work, to stop fooling around and wasting time. As they moved, a lone tear fell from her eyes and she did something she has never truly done. Relina actually smiled. It was not a smirk, or even a grin, it was a small, yet full smile. She felt the warmth of Soranith's mind pressing into her own as the dragon read her thoughts.
You are happy. I am glad. Soranith told her. Relina breathed deeply and looked at Faine, her eyes thanking her deeply for showing her how to truly have fun, for she could not find the words to express her graditude.
"Maybe after the feast, I can tell you a little bit about myself." Relina offered. If Faine truly was going to be her friend, then she had the right to know about her past.
