(Takes place before the post in the hatching thread)
After a long walk, she finally made it. She stood up and looked over the Weyr. Relina smiled at the dragons constantly taking off or landing.
Her nose immediatly went to the air as a rumbling sound came from hers and Zorn's bellies. She looked down and clutched her stomach in a futile effort to silence it. She looked toward Zorn who stared at her with whirling red eyes.
"I guess we both have gone a long while without eating haven't we? Let's see what there is to eat around here shall we?" She said as Zorn hopped on her shoulder and they began wandering around, looking for the kitchen.

Verdann thoroughly enjoyed his break from carving, allowing himself to wander around and lightly explore- something he hadn't been able to do for a while. It was like he was grasping on an excited happy bubble that may or may not pop. It had only been a few days since he had come to the weyr, and though he still did a few chores and a few carvings ( the weyr was in repair, how could he not lend a hand) the rest of his time was unaccounted for.
Today he had decided to wander around the outer areas, and just his luck- it appeared a new candidate had come! He wondered where this newcomer hailed from... and what her talents were. He decided to get closer and introduce himself.
"Hey there! Welcome to Dark Moon Weyr! I'm Verdann, a candidate... are you a candi as well?"

Relina jumped at the sound of Verdann's voice and looked toward him. She scowled in disapproval but quickly shook it off. "I am a candidate yes. My name is Relina and this," She raised her shoulder to display her blue Fire-Lizard "is Zorn. We are new to the Weyr, we have just arrived"
She swallowed in her throat as Zorn showed hungry images. She had to lay down her pride for the sake of her and her friend. "Can you tell us where th-the kitchen is? We have traveled a long way and we had little food to work with." Zorn chirped at the mention of food as Relina stared at Verdann with antagonizing, slightly hopeful eyes.

Verdann's eyebrow gave a quirk at the scowl she first threw at him, but smiled when she introduced herself. She seemed rather protective of herself. He would have to tread lightly... or at least, as lightly as he could.
"Relina? What a pretty name." Verdann lightly waved at the blue flitter, a smile on his lips. "And hello there Zorn! Do you protect your lady from bad things?"
When Relina asked for directions Verdann couldn't help but let out a chuckle. "Of course! How rude of me! Traveling is hungry work, so of course you'll be needing food! I'll show you to the kitchens then, inside the weyr things can get confusing. I know... mostly because I'm bad with directions." He shrugged and tapped the side of his head with a look of 'what can you do?'

Zorn chirped happily at Verdann as Relina smirked. She was amused by her flits behavior and by the antics of her fellow candidate. She shifted her stance and pulled Zorn off her shoulder, carrying him in her arms instead as she looked at Verdann.
"Well, shall we be going then? I agree, this place is much too big for one to travel alone, and I am terrible at remembering verbal directions anyway. I would not have found the Weyr without Zorn's help." She stated, revealing more about herself than she probably should have to someone she didn't really know.

Verdann smiled. "Happens to me all the time. If I haven't found something for myself, it's somehow very hard to find it through directions!" He shook his head in disbelief at himself. "But thankfully I'm here to show you where to go... otherwise there might be some commotion when starved bodies were found in the weyr."
Verdann chuckled a little then gestured to a door to the weyr. "This way then." He got to the door and held it open for Relina. "Ladies first."

Relina smirked and went through the open door, Zorn riding happily in her arms. "Well, now where do we go from here sir?" She asked, trying her best to be polite while Zorn chittered in her arms.

"Well, from 'here' most people would go 'there' I think. But that is not what you meant, so, heh, this way." He smiled at his lame joke and led the two down a few corridors.
"So, where you from? Did it take you long to get here?"
