(( Anyone and everyone, feel free to jump in! ))
While the sun still crept up and over the Weyr walls, a bewildered young man stood numbly at the bowl's center. What had been said, what he was told, where he was pointed - all these things swam in a primordial soup within his head. Despite the slack-jawed stare he gave his new home, gears were churning beneath his scraggly hair. Adjusting the strap on his pack, he strode toward the lower caverns.
Keeping his head down as he entered, Dhunen did little talking to those he passed, save to ask where it was, exactly, he was supposed to go. Maneuvering the tunnels and passages, he finally came upon the makeshift quarters. Selecting a cot for himself, setting his meager belongings down, Dhunen finally spared a moment to look around. Sure there were others, he just needed to find them. Rounding one corner, he began walking, searching, for another that shared his predicament.
The waiting game.

Sorcha idly stroked the little blue, Azuri's, hide. It was getting to be his time for oiling. She was feeling a little ... erm, she wasn't sure, but she felt like wandering, moving about. In short, she was tired of her weyr and ready to see something more today. She had a pouch full of her materials, she was just looking for an ideal place to settle down to start on him.
The blue chittered at her, he didn't seem to understand why he had to stay with her right now. It was perfect for flying. He sent her an image of a few already out playing together. She looked down at him and smiled, scratching his eye ridge until he crooned, of course, that meant she didn't see the guy rounding the corner until she bumped right into him.
She fell backwards, immediately throwing her hands to the side in an effort to catch herself. That launched Azuri into the air and he squawked his displeasure and flapped around not caring if he clipped anyone with his wings.
She looked up from the ground to see Azuri furiously circling the guys head, chittering at him angrily for knocking down his. Well, that was a bit funny if you thought about it. She giggled, it was probably more her fault this his that she had fallen anyway. "C'mere you silly blue. I'm not hurt and if I am it's not his fault. Apologize." She slowly stood up brushing off her clothes before looking at the him, "Hey, sorry about that." She tilted her head while looking at him, it was true she didn't know everyone real well, but she didn't remember him, he also didn't have any Weyr related knots, "New here?"
Azuri chittering at the other in what might be called an apologetic tone before going to land on Sorcha's shoulder and warily eye the boy.

With an 'oof', the fellow paused to gather his head after the impact. Though with a miniature blue thing flying about ones' head, the task was easier thought of than executed. With his mouth hanging open for several moments, the only audible thing he could do at first was, "Uuhhh.."
Luckily, the woman's voice drove him around back to the present. A few blinks later, and he crouched down to help either corral her belongings, if some had fallen near him, and then he offered a hand. "No, no.. I uh.. Don't really know my way yet, I'm sorry, I should have thought to look where I was heading."
Azuri's apology was met with a wide-eyed look and the fellow managed a rather unintelligent, "Uh.. you're.. forgiven?" before quirking a brow to the woman. "Oh, uh.. yea. I just arrived, actually. Um. Name's Dhunen." What with his hand already outstretched to help her up, offering a shake would seem silly.

Sorcha took his hand to stand up the rest of the way and retrieved her oiling cloth. Oh, well, that would explain the slightly overwhelmed look he sported. It would also explain his eloquent speech, the being new here. She gave his hand a little shake as she let go of his hand, in lei of a hand shake. "You could hardly watch where you were going if you don't know where your destination is. Nope, it's my fault." She nodded, "And I'm Sorcha, this here is Azuri. Pleasure to meet you." Azuri still eyed the male warily, not sure of the one who had knocked down his mine, but he remained quit for now.
"Headed anywhere in particular, or just up for some sights? I was just looking for a decent place to oil Azuri, but I could do that anywhere if you need a point in the right direction." She figured it was the least she could do for flustering the poor guy.

Her logic left him blinking for a brief moment, and then the boy-who-was-not-quite-a-man shrugged. "I suppose you've got me there." He chuckled faintly, one hand rose to scratch at an itch nestled somewhere in his shaggy hair.
Listening to her introduction, Dhunen nodded and looked at the both of them, as if trying to solidify faces and shapes in his head, along with their associated words. "Pleasure to meet you, as well. Again, sorry for.. um. Y'know." He indicated the floor with a loose hand gesture. The wary eye from the lizard was returned with one of Dhunen's own, slightly sheepish ones.
"I.. well. Actually, I was just looking to get my bearings. I've been here long enough to drop my things in the candidate quarters they've got set up and to run into you." A nervous laugh tumbled from his lips, then and he clears his throat. "I've never been to the Weyr before now, so.. Should I be on the lookout for anything?"

Sorcha's lips quirked as she was sorely tempted, no so much more than just tempted, to reply 'Akki' but she wasn't sure he'd know she was joking. No, she'd just keep that funny to herself. He'd hear plenty from the drudges and Weyrfolk soon enough about her. Well, he'd probably hear a thing or two about her as well.
"Um, other than getting squished by the large things flying around? Nope, probably nothing to look after." She motioned for him to follow her as she continued walking. In a Weyr it felt weird to not have a destination to have to be to quickly. You were either rushing to classes, your dragon, a chore, a punishment for shirking your chore, or running away from everyone so you can get some rest before they find you again.
She glanced over at him (hopefully he follows lol), "So without Kaith having risen, that leaves you to be a Candidate for a bit. Excited?

As bidden, Dhunen followed the woman without hesitation. Hands in pockets, he looked rather unsure of.. well, plenty. The environs, the people, the situation entirely. He walked, eyes on the walls and on the floor, occasionally above. Anywhere but on the woman walking ahead of him.
When she questioned him, Dhunen made an unintelligent noise in the back of his throat before offering, "Well.. I suppose I might be. I'm not really sure, quite yet. I think it's taking my head a bit to catch up with all that's happened so far." And boy, had it been a lot.
"Were you excited?" He asked in turn, finally looking at her. Mostly her hair, though a wary eye kept darting to the blue creature keeping watch on him.

She nodded along. Yes, the Weyr sure was a big change from normal Hold life. And not just in the oh, they're dragons flying around. It was just a totally different feel. Almost, oh it was so hard to decipher. It felt as if everyone were just part of one big unit. They all belonged to something big and had a purpose. Of course in a Hold you have a purpose, but it's just vastly ... different. You can choose your Hold, you can do nothing about choosing a Weyr, either you have what it takes to have a dragon or you don't. Simple.
She glanced over at him and realized he'd asked her a question. Well, wasn't that a bit awkward? "Umm, I was a little more nervous than anything else. I mean, it's just so different and I was worried about how my family woul-would react to me getting a dragon." She lead him out of the tunnels to the Weyr bowl. There were plenty of stone staircases down here she could sit on while she oiled Azuri. It was a nice day too. Warm, but holding the right amount of breeze to make it just a splendid weather day.
She settled down on a step, making sure to leave him room incase he wanted to sit, but not making any demands of him. Dhunen looked rather unsure of himself at the moment, she didn't want to make him feel worse. It probably was just the new person jitters. She removed the items from her bag as Azuri mad his way to her lap in preparation. He crooned softly, obviously knowing what the oil and cloth meant. She glanced back up at him while setting up the things in an easy to reach order, "So have you always wanted to be a dragon rider or did a Search dragon come up to you and you just went along? You'd be surprised by how many people were just Searched while pursuing their dreams in certain crafts or Holds. Well, I know I was anyway."
